The Night Under The Stars
I sit with Twilight Sparkle on a checkered red and white blanket underneath the night sky. Many stars shine brightly above our heads.
"I can't believe I didn't go to your party all those years ago." Twilight says solemnly as she stares at the blades of grass beneath her hooves.
"Well, everything is fine now. We have patched it all up." I say. I then smile at the purple alicorn princess beside me.
"Yeah. I guess we did."
I need to tell her that I love her. My heart pounds wildly in my chest. Part of me is worried about telling her my emotions while another part is somewhat excited.
"Twilight, can I tell you something that has been on my mind for a while?" I stare intently at her while I blush. Here I go.
In response Twilight slowly and welcomingly wraps a foreleg around me. "Go right ahead."
"Okay.. Twilight Sparkle, I love you to death. I really do. I have had a crush on you for tons of years. You are just so smart, powerful, and amassing." I nervously await her response.
"Oh. Wow... I can't believe I never noticed.."
I stare at the grassy ground just like she did moments earlier. I wait for her to say more. Or do more. There has to be more.
I lift my head and open my mouth to respond but Princess Twilight Sparkle stops me with a simple kiss. After a moment or two both of us slowly pull our lips away from one another.
My purple eyes look as big as saucers and my mouth is wide open. Did she just do that? Oh my gosh! Twilight Sparkle smiles at my surprised expression.
"I love you." Twilight Sparkle says quietly.
She kissed me! She kissed me! I grin like a crazy fool. I've been waiting for this moment for years but I don't now what to do now. "What now?"
"I guess we should tell our friends first." Twilight Sparkle says.
"You remember how Minuette called herself the Love Doctor a couple of years ago?"
Twilight tilts her head slightly like a confused dog. "I think I remember that."
"I'd think she'd say this is something she should've prescribed years ago."
Twilight nods. "Yea. She would. I think my friend Rarity would say something like that."
"I guess the million bit question is: should one of us move to live with the other?" I'd be really really cool to live with Twily but I'd hate to leave my other friends behind.
"We could have a long distance relationship, I'd be our easiest choice. I guess magic could make it easy and Canterlot is so close to Ponyvile."
"Yeah."
"Or you could live with me in my castle. There's a ton of space. Spike wouldn't mind at all. I could even pull rank and get you a Ponyvile cottage."
My foolish grin widens a little bit. "That sounds like a ton of fun. I'll just miss the others. There my best friends. I just don't want to just leave them, ya know?"
Twilight nods again with a look of understanding. "They're always visiting. Wouldn't be to hard to stay connected with them."
"I wish I had more Ponyvile friends. I'd make this choice a lot more easier."
She wraps a wing around my neck. "You don't have to make a decision right now. We have a lot of time ahead of us."
"Yup. I wish I took this off my chest a lot sooner."
"Me too." Twilight pulls two apple out of the picnic basket with her magic. She gives one to me.
I take a nibble out of it. It's juicy, sweat, and delicious. I set it down on the blanket.
I think I've made up my mind. I want to live with Twilight. I just love her being with her so much. "Twilight, I've made up my mind. I'll tae your offer to let me live with you."
I think she's so excited at my response that a grand spark almost soars out of the tip of her horn, or that just might be my own imagination.
She leaps to her hooves. "Yay! We better tell my parents. And yours! They'll both be so excited! I think this is as great as the time when I learned Daring Do is real!"
"Daring what? Who the heck is she?"
"Daring Do, but that doesn't really matter much. I'll explain it all later." She lunges forward and hugs me. I've never been much of a hugger but I take it with open forelegs.
I takes a lot to make me cry. This is one of those thing that just makes me tear up. A single tear slides down my face and lands on one of Twilight's hooves.
I never would have even imagined this even two or three weeks ago but I'm with Twilight I'm with Twilight! I'm with Twilight! I'm in a relationship with freaking Princess Twilight Sparkle and I could not be anymore happy right now. I feel like I can shout this off of twenty different roof tops, and I might actually do that some time.
There is only one way I know of that I can express my emotions right now. I let out a loud yelp. I think they could hear it all the way in Yakyackistan. I really don't care about that right now, though. I just care about this special moment.
I don't really know what the future ahead of me will be like but I have a feeling that I'll enjoy it.
