Pinkie hopped over to the entrance to Sugarcube Corner. Twilight was standing there with a box on her back.
"Hiya, Twilight! Whatcha got there?" the pink pony asked.
"Just a gift fo-----"
"Lemme see! Lemme see!!! What's inside, Twilight?"
"This is a very special gift, Pinkie. I can't tell you or I would be letting somepony down," Twilight said, trying to protect the box. "Have you seen Mrs Cake? I need ask her about something... special."
"Oooh, sorry Twilight. The Cakes are out getting more ingredients for cupcakes," Pinkie explained. Under her breath, she added "Seems somepony used up all the flower."
"What was that?"
"Nothing. Nothing. Anyways, whatcha wanna ask Mrs Cake about?"
"Ummmh..." Twilight said while she debated whether to tell her friend. "It's... uh... sort of a personal matter..."
At this the pink party pony leaned in closer. "And...?"
"And I would rather talk with Mrs Cake about it," Twilight quickly finished. "Do you know when they will be back?"
"Nope, can't help ya there. All they said was they would be back by tomorrow."
"Thanks for your help," Twilight said before hurrying off.
'Hmmm... What could Twi want to know that Mrs cake knows but her books don't?' thought Pinkie as she went back to the baby Cakes.
"Who wants to play 'Where's Pinkie Pie?'"

The next day, after the Cakes got back from Canterlot with the ingredients, Pinkie decided she would go and try to find out what it was that Twilight was so interested in. She got out her disguise glasses and set out to investigate.
Unsurprisingly, Twilight was back at the library, nose deep in a book, this one about...
"Stallions?! eep!" Pinkie quickly got out of sight before Twilight looked up from her book.
"Hello?" Twilight called out. "Anypony out there?"
Pinkie Pie waited until Twilight started to seem glued to her book again before moving from her hiding spot. Returning to Sugarcube Corner, she thought about what she had learned. Twilight wanted to talk to Mrs Cake in person and not to Pinkie, had a secret gift box, and was reading a book about Stallions.
"Aha! Twilight must be packing a present for a special somepony and not know what to get him! I know just what to do!" With that, she hopped away and started thinking.

"... so then I said 'Cloudhopper? I thought you said "Clopper!"'" Rainbow finished her story to raucous laughter from the ponies gathered around her.
"Hey, Dashie? You know anything about stallions?" Pinkie asked when the crowd started to disperse.
"What do you think, Pinkie?" asked 'The Dash.' "I'm not all that into stallions, if ya know what I mean."
"Oh... I didn't know, Rainbow." said the pink pony quietly.
"It's O.K., Pinkie. You might wanna go talk to somepony else, like Rarity. I'm not quite the best with this sort of thing."
"Thanks, Rainbow," Pinkie said with a slight smile.
"Pinkie, might I ask why you wanna know about stallions?"
"Well, yesterday at Suga--- I mean... I just...," Pinkie started to splutter. "Gift... Mrs Cake... Twilight... Stallion... Secret... wait a minute Dangit!"
"What?" Rainbow Dashed with a concerned look on her face.
"Twilight needs a gift for a special stallion and wants advice from Mrs. Cake. DARNIT!"
"WHAT?!!"
"I've said too much. Bye Dashie!" Pinkie quickly ran in some indiscriminate direction away from Sugarcube Corner.
"Stallion? Twilight? Pinkie Pie?! I gotta hear about this one!" Rainbow Dash thought aloud to herself.
