Chapter 1

It was another day in Ponyville. Everypony was going about their business and helping out others if needed. I currently find myself in my house having a troubling conversation with the fastest Pegasus in Ponyville: Rainbow Dash. The elegant Fashionista: Rarity. And the toughest mare I know: Applejack. Who each are one of my best friends in Ponyville.

"Come on Calvin, just ask her out." Rainbow said.

"I don't know?" I said in an uneasy tone.

"Darling, you shouldn't be afraid to ask a mare on a date. Especially if she's your friend." Rarity said in sincere concern.

"But--" I started.

"No buts Calvin, just buck up and ask her." Applejack said in that big sisterly tone of hers.

The mare that we were talking about in this conversation was Twilight Sparkle.

Yes, I was in love with Twilight Sparkle.

When I first arrived in Equestria through a portal, Twilight and her friends found me in the Everfree Forest badly hurt and unconscious. They took me to the hospital where I recovered. Meeting talking ponies wasn't all that terrifying to me(I don't know why). I quickly got along with everypony in Ponyville and quickly became popular all over Equestria.

My popularity even earned me a visit from the rulers of Equestria: Celestia, the princess of the sun. And Luna, the princess of the moon. Our meeting couldn't have gone better. As a reward, I was given special privileges whenever I visited Canterlot. Twilight and the girls were overjoyed to hear of the princesses approval of my stay in Ponyville.

Over the next few days I hung out with the mane six, getting to know them better and strengthening our friendship even more.

Twilight was the one who wanted to spend time with me the most.

She was so eager to know about me, my world, and my race. And the more I spent time with her, the more I fell in love with her. I tried my best to keep it a secret, but it was only a matter of time until somepony would find out.

Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity found out over time and decided to confront me about it.

Which is where we left off before my little prologue.

"Ok, ok I'll ask her." I finally said.

The girls started to ease up after I said that.

"Ok, now we'll see you at the movies okay." Rainbow said.

"Yes." I said.

"With. Twilight." Rainbow said, making sure I knew what to do.

"Got it." I replied.

Rainbow Dash then started to leave with Rarity and Applejack following.

"We only ganged up on ya because we care about ya sugarcube." Applejack said in an apologetic tone.

"It's okay, I understand." I said, not holding a grudge.

"Alright, see ya at the movies." Applejack said to me.

"Yeah, you too." I said back.

I then left my house and started heading to Twilight's castle. Asking her out was flowing through my mind the entire walk there. I made it to Twilight's castle after a while. I knocked on the door, hoping that somepony would answer.

Sure enough, Twilight answered.

"Oh hi Calvin, what brings you here?" Twilight asked.

"Just came to see my favorite princess of friendship." I said casually.

Twilight blushed and giggled at my reason.

"May I come in?" I asked.

"Of course, come in." She gestured.

I walked in, still remembering what I came here to do.

Twilight went back to her castle's library with me following her. She was reading another spell book. Now I don't mind reading a book every now and then, but sometimes she goes too far with it.

"Another book caught your eye." I joked.

"Yes! I found this book at the old two sisters library and couldn't just leave it there." Twilight said in a cheerful tone.

Typical Twilight, I don't know what she loves more: Celestia, her friends, or her books. But there's no time for comedic remarks, now's the time to ask her the question.

"Hey Twi." I started.

"Hmm." Twilight said, responding to me calling her name.

"Um, would you go with me to see the new Doctor Whooves movie tonight?" I asked uneasily.

Knowing Twilight, it's going to be a kind and simple "no thanks". It would be painful, but I'll kindly respect her decision.

"Sure, I'd love to go to the movies with you!" Twilight answered.

"Wait, WHAT!" I said surprised.

I never really thought that Twilight would agree to go to the movies with me.

"But, why?" I asked.

"Why not. You're a really nice guy and you help me and my friends out a lot whenever we need it. It's the least I could do. Also, I really wanted to go the movies with somepony and you were my first choice." Twilight said while blushing.

"Wow, thanks Twilight." I said, appreciative of Twilight's words.

"Anytime." Twilight said.

(Glad I got that off my chest) I thought to myself.

So I'll pick you up at 7?" I asked.

"Sure." Twilight replied.

"Ok I'm gonna go get ready, see ya Twi." I said.

"Bye Calvin, see you tonight." Twilight said, waving good-bye.

I waved back and went out the castle door.

(Man I can't believe it. Twilight actually "wanted" to go to the movies with me) I thought to myself.

I'm officially going to take Twilight on a date.

"Tonight is going to be a special night." I said to myself as I walked home to get ready for tonight.
