A Sister's fear

Celestia stood out on her balcony, enjoying the calmness of night, a gentle breeze whisked around her elegant form, snapping at the golden curtains. She looked up at the dark abyss of the night, not a single star was hanging in the sky. Celestia frowned at the sight, it has been a full month sense she has seen the stars.

She has tried to confront her sister about it, and every single time she flew away from her, in a powerful display of her enormous wings. And she would have never admit it but Luna was a faster flyer than her. Celestia knew Luna was very lonely, and didn’t like Oliver very much. She sighed as she slowly trotted into her room using her gold colored magic to close the balcony door behind her.

She settled into her large plush cushion that served as a reading spot, she levitated her book titled Advanced biological stimulation and mutations over to her the leather cover had a thick layer of dust on it. She gently blew on the cover and opened it to the bookmarked page, and continued reading, she flipped the page and paused, her eyes flicked over the title a few more times before finishing the chapter.

Celestia slammed the book shut and practically danced around her room, she found a solution for Luna's problem, she couldn’t believe she didn’t think of it before, it was so simple. She started levitating objects around her room in search of the items she would need.

Soon Luna's days of loneliness would end.

The smallest Star

Luna slowly walked through the large hallways of the castle, her hooves barley making a noise as she made her way to her room. She used her shoulder to push open the door, even though she was capable of magic she prefers to feel the metal on her shoulder. It was calming in a way, to Luna at least. She kicked the door closed, nearly jumping at the loud noise it made when it slammed into the frame.

She slowly made her way to her bed, kicking off her sandals as she trotted along. Then using her dark blue magic levitated her crown and chest plate, an laid them on her night stand next to a pale purple chest with a faded copper lock. Luna looked at the chest before levitating it over, as she laid down onto her bed dropping the chest it in front of her.

She shifted around to get comfy, she settled with a nest of quilts and pillows that she instantly snugged into. Luna prodded the lock with the tip of her horn, and small click echoed around the sparsely decorated room. She nudged the box open and stared in wonder at its contents, stars floated around the chest harmlessly bumping into each other than floating to a new direction.

They were beautiful, her eyes instantly found a star that was hiding in the corner of the chest. "Come little one" she crooned "meet your family". The tiny star then floated out of the chest, and landed on Luna's snout and nuzzled her. Luna was taken aback it has been almost a whole year cense she's been nuzzled, the tiny star was a pale blue and was very warm to the touch, a welcomed feeling on a windy night.

"Luna?" A regal voice called from the other side of the door, accompanied by a series of knocks. Luna gently nuzzled the star back into the chest, closed the lid, before quickly levitating it back to the night stand while at the same time opening the door with her magic. Celestia stood there, a few items out of Luna's sightline floated behind Celestia. "Dearest sister" Celestia started "may I come in?" She

asked, in response Luna opened the doors wider, allowing her to come in. "What brings you here at this hour Tia" Luna questions, trying to peek around her sister’s large form to see what she brought. Celestia smiled at her younger sister for a brief second.

"Luna" she said putting on her best poker face "would you like to be a mom?"

Magic

Luna was shocked "What do you mean" she asked carefully, unsure where Celestia was going with this. Celestia could feel her sister's uncertainty, "Magically, not the traditional way silly, unless you want to?" She teased.

She levitated her book over to Luna who grasped it in her own magic, and instantly found the chapter Celestia was talking about, then raised a questioning eyebrow "what does 'choose DNA from host, and two more of opposing gender' mean?" Celestia paused, she herself didn’t know the answer and was also uncertain about that piece of information.

"to be honest with you i have no idea" she said " but that wouldn’t really matter, if you could have your own foal? Would it?" She questioned, as Luna was pacing around Tia, a habit she picked up from Twilight after her nightmare moon day fiasco. Luna loved foals that was for certain, and having one of her blood would the best thing ever. But if she did get a foal she would have to take maternity leave, meaning she would have to leave Tia with all of her work. Granted if she would get some from outside raising the moon. But Tia

did that for a thousand years, she can handle a few more months. She stopped pacing and arched she’d her back trying to get several knots out, she made a quick mental note to see Fluttershy, she was truly a great chiropractor.

Luna gave one last thought who would be the mare and stallion she would choose, she was thinking Fluttershy or Applejack as for stallion, Big Mac maybe, most likely Fluttershy and Big Mac, wait a minute... " Tia how will we know what type of pony I'll have" Celestia pulled up the page from a chart in her book, " most likely one of the main three, the chances of it being a alicorn are still varied in many ways ,so who knows you might be lucky" Celestia said putting away the chart in its rightful place, "Tia" Luna started "I want to be a mom, and I have chosen the other two, Fluttershy, And Big Macintosh" she said

Celestia smiled "I thought you would choose them" she said pulled two beakers out, one had three pink butterflies on it, the other a green apple cut in half, "Luna you do know that this will tingle a little, right?" Celestia said, Luna nodded Celestia smiled and set up the item, which were scented candles and the beakers.

Celestia's horn glowed, her eyes white with energy and she opened her wings flying up a good five feet before a beam of pure white light over took Luna's systems. She could feel the magic flowing through her, and it was very tingly. Through the light she saw the chest lid move, The tiny blue star floated out of the lid and right to Luna, it stopped and nuzzled her before floating to her chest and into it. She could feel its warmth spreading through her entire being, so warm she could feel herself dosing off she fought to stay awake, so warm.

She feel asleep lulled into it by the warmth of the tiny star, Celestia feel her sister body go limp, but also feel her deep breathing so she kept going. A small pale blue light gently floated out and landed on the thick carpet, then instantly turned into a pile of blankets with the stars and moon on it. Celestia stopped the spell as it ended, slowly she trotted over to Luna and nuzzled her neck.

Luna blinked in a lazy fashion before getting up and stretching, she stopped mid-stretch when she saw the pile of blankets. She cautiously walked over and unraveled the blankets, she felt her heart melt at the sight a pale purple alicorn filly laid on her stomach ,her mane was the same as woona's when she was younger and was a pale blue and faded into a golden orange. And her eyes seemed to shimmer pale sliver but would change to a dark gold then back to silver.

Celestia joined her sister, "Tia" she whispered "Thank you"

Special

It's been three weeks and the alicorn filly named Dusk, as said by Luna, has grown at a rapid pace. Stopping just before, in normal ponys year what whould be seven years old. Many times Luna would take Dusk to her garden, and show her the constilations, and the moon, and name every flower there was.

She was extremly happy, this filly was her own, not other pony's, her's. Everytime Dusk called her 'Mama' she could feel her heart grow even more atached to the filly, her filly, her precious little star. And as it was Luna started to reposed the stars in the night sky again, and after a week of this and little Dusk, she was the happist mare alive. And Luna would never, ever, let anypony hurt her, as long as she lived, and that was going to be a long time.

Luna was in the garden with Dusk who was playing with a small green flower and nibbling on it, Luna arched her neck back to look at the stars, only to find them in a formation she didnt set them in, a daisy if she had to guess. She tapped Dusk's horn with her own, signaling for her to look up. But when Dusk looked up, Luna saw her horn aglow with a gray aroura, she looked up again only to see a heart made out of stars.

Dusk giggled in complete glee while Luna was puzzeled, it took the avrage alicorn nine years to learn the spell's and Dusk learned in seconds. A blinding glow radiated of of Dusk, and on her flank was her cutie mark made of three stars that splayed out, and behind the stars a crecent moon hid in the background. Dusk sqeaked in complete glee, and hopped around Luna, her small wings giving her a small boost everytime she jumped.

She finaly landed in front of her and beamed up at her, "Did you see it Mama, huh, did you Mama?" She asked, her words allowing a wave of joy to spill out and flood Luna in joy. She smiled at Dusk, who was looking at her expectantly, "Yes my little star" she crooned as she spread one of her enormous wings, Dusk scurred under it and snugged near her coat. Luna laughed as she tucked her wing around her and nuzzled her, Dusk nuzzled back befor yawning and laying her head on Luna's foreleg.

She yawned again "I love you mama" she whispered before her eyes slid shut, and her breaths became deeper and steadied. Luna took a momount to cherish her little Dusk sleeping ,before she closed her own eye's and when she reopened them she was in the hallway between all of the sleeping ponys in equestria, she troted between doors untill she reached Dusk's. She opened it and floated in her hoofs landing on castle marble, she saw Dusk but the sight was terrifying.

Dusk was laughing, but she wasnt Dusk, her form changed from a fillies to nightmare moon's. Her eyes shone a deep silver, her coat was a bluish gray, and her mane was floating like Luna's and Celestia's at the base was a golden but faded into a dark navy blue, extremly close to black. But what scared Luna the most was her position, she had a menicing smile of wolflike teeth. Discord layed under her hooves washing her silver sandels and the blood diamonds that were embeded in them, Queen chrysalis was buzzing around in a maid's outfit and carring a feather duster, dusting everything she could reach.

And King Sombra was sitting on a bed ment for a dog wearing a dog collor with purple crystals embeded in it, and was eating a daisy salad out of a bowl with his name on it. Obove her was a gold bird cage in it was Celestia, she was wearing a ring on her horn and the same kind of ring on each of her wings, keeping her from doing anything. A large hamster cage was against the wall near Sombra inside was the mane six and Cadence and Shinning Armor.

Each waring the the rings where they were needed, and Luna herself was on a cat bed playing with a ball of yarn, each of them had a specific place where they would sleeep. And all of them had one thing in common all of them had a collar, each personalised to their personalities, but all of them were wearing one nonetheless. Luna was backpedaling away from the horrific dream and galloped away, wings forgotten momentarily before barreling through the dream door, and back into reality.

Luna nearly screamed when she entered her own body again, her head snapped to the right to make sure Dusk was still there. She sighed in relief when Dusk snorted lightly in her sleep, before suppressing a tremour she was terrified, not only about what her daughter would turn into, more about what she could do if she got that power.

That second, she took an oath to do everything in her power, to never let that dream happen.

Flash

"SHE DID WHAT?" Luna roared in her royal canterlot voice, the noise bouncing off the walls and past the thick golden doors, causing several guards to jump or flinch. Celestia cringed at her sisters reaction, "Dusk might of put a guard into a, well coma" She said her voice as calm as possible, " how in your name could that, happen she's still a filly" Luna growled she was really not in the mood for this.

Celestia sighed "The guard-Flash Sentry- was apparently talking about how the world would be better off without a ticking time bomb as a princess of a time of day that nobody cares about, " Celestia waited for a reaction before continuing " and somewhere in that rant he mentioned Dusk with a few choice of words that were very rude, and Dusk taking after her mother was so well hidden in the shadows that she heard every word. And when she confronted him he was intoxicated and abruptly struck her, leading her to crack three ribs, snap a pelvic bone, twist a hoof, and give him a minor concussion."

Luna was not sure to be proud or disappointed, but she did know that she would ask Dusk later about her side of the story. A bright green flame appeared in front of Celestia, a letter was afloat before she caught it with her magic and opened the the wrinkled paper. Celestia read the contents before banging her head on the arm of the throne several times, "what it wrong sister" Luna asked bewildered at her sisters actions "That guard Dusk beat up, was twilight's coltfreind" Celestia answered the sentence slightly muffled by her face still laying on the arm of the throne "and in twenty minutes she will be teleporting herself and her friends over, just to rant on about the conditions of the place. And to yell at Dusk who she thinks is a 'horrible filly with no morals and takes pleasure in hurting others, for harmless jokes'. and she doesn't know that she's your daughter more like a rebel unicorn from my school."

Luna joined Celestia in the royal-banging-your-head-on-the-arm-of-throne, Dusk fluttered into the room unnoticed by the royal sisters, who were still engaged in the royal-banging-your-head-on-the-arm-of-throne. She slipped behind one of the pillars seemingly fading into the shadows, Luna stopped banging her head along with her sister "What am i going to do" Celestia groaned. A idea popped into Luna's head "what if they took Dusk?" She offered, Celestia looked at her as if she grew a third eye "They think she is a horrible filly right?" Tia nodded "them why don't we let them take her for two months or so, to learn how much of a sweet foal she is?" Tia smiled "Luna. Your a genius"

So they waited for fifteen minutes for Twilight and friends to arrive. A purple glow signaled their entrance a flash and Twilight was already approaching Celestia, Twilight's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. Luna already herded the other five out into the hallway, "Luna, darling have you heard about that dreadful filly Dusk? I heard she has been a pest to royal guards throughout the whole palace." Rarity asked trying to make small chat, "I don't think she's that bad, i heard that guy was drunk to no ends" Applejack replied tipping her stetson at Luna. "Yah right, i heard she beat the guard up with no mercy. That's not cool" Rainbowdash said as she floated in lazy circles above the group, "Beating up anypony is not nice" Pinkie said bouncing up in down.

Fluttershy didn't say anything just layed down and listened to the conversation, Luna could feel herself flexing her wings. She eyed the group " i know the parent of Dusk" she said in a slow and careful voice everypony looked up at her "Really?" They ask in unison, Luna nodded "well who is it darling, come on spit it out." Rarity encouraged Luna took a deep breath "I am the Mother" she said. The room lapsed into a uncomfortable silence, before Rarity realised what she meant. "Who's the lucky stallion" she asked her blue eyes glued on her, Luna shook her head ruefully and explained the whole story, at the end most of there jaws were open, a few flies were flying around Pinkie's.

Fluttershy was as red as a cherry, "um excuse me i have a announcement" Fluttershy said quietly every set of eyes were glued on her "Earlier this morning, i was on sweet apple acre helping with the bunny problem" Applejack nodded confirming it "and the storm rolled in" she eyed Rainbowdash for a few seconds "and me and Big Mac were forced to take shelter in a hollowed out oak tree. And while we were there, Big Mac kissed me" Rarity let a girly scream escape her lips, " Darling why didn't you say something earlier? This is huge news! we must celebrate at once" she declared, "later" she corrected as Pinkie took out her party canon, she made a pouty face and put the cannon away into nothingness.

Applejack smiled "well ill be darned, i thought Big Mac fancied somemare. Good thing he choose well, treat him good k" as congratulations were being passed around Luna walked up to the butter colored pegasus. She dipped her head and tapped her on the head with her horn twice, a pink spark was created each time she tapped. Fluttershy looked up confused, "i gave you a soul check, and he truly is what your heart desires." She explained "And the second tap gave you the confidence to move on with your relationship, when your soul knows when"

Fluttershy flung herself at Luna embracing her around the neck, she was muttering 'thank you' over and over. This went on for three minutes before Luna rolled her neck making the pegasus flutter off, a small form jumped of the ceiling and onto Luna's back. "Hey mama" Dusk chirped, before sliding of her mothers wing onto the marble floor, The whole group looked flabbergasted "this is Dusk, the filly that nearly put a guard into a coma by herself" Rainbowdash asked "Dusk is the name stars are my game" Dusk said her hoof held up waiting to be shook.

"And for the record it was self defense" she added, one by one the five mares shook her hoof. "And congrats on getting that staillion" she said at Fluttershy, Rainbowdash leaned closer to Rarity "she's kinda small don't you think" she whisperd "Dashie" Rarity whisperd back "dont be rude" Dusk approached Rainbowdash, "what's this about my size" she asked she was smiling but her eyes held murder and the calm tone she was using made her even scarier. Rainbowdash gulped " n-n-nothing" she stuttered stumbling backwards blindy. "WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY SIZE" Dusk roared not hiding her anger anymore

"is it funny dashie huh is it" she asked her horn glowing she shot a beam of gray light at Rainbowdash, she started shrinking until she was smaller than Dusk. "How do you like it 'your so tiny' or how about 'can i pet the wittle dashie'" she hissed, a fog was creeping through the cracks in the walls swirling around her hooves. Luna lunged forward grabbing Dusk with her hooves "shh Dusk shh she didn't mean it hush"she crooned petting Dusk behind the ears, Dusk stopped struggling and buried her face in Luna's chest, crying.

The fog disappeared and Rainbowdash grew back to normal size, "im sorry" she muttered through Luna's chest, sniffing slowly she lifted her head to look at Rainbowdash "are you ok?" Dusk asked. Rainbowdash nodded "yah i'll live, i can see how you injured Flash now" she said rubbing her head, then smiled at the filly "and i did have that coming" Dusk smiled then glided off of Luna's hoof onto Rainbowdash's shoulder, she chirped before glided behind one of the pillars and promptly disappeared in the shadows.

"What was that about?" Applejack asked Luna sighed "she has Fluttershy DNA in her, but instead of acting in the way Fluttershy would she took after me. She doesn't mean it she just, cant control her emotions, and she very sensitive about her size. That's why she beat up the guard he insulated her size and me, she is extremely protective of her freinds " Luna explained.

"Well, Buck" Rainbowdash said. They sat together for a few more minutes in silence. Large golden doors creaked open and a apologetic looking Twilight trotted out calling for a group huddle with the girls, they stayed that way for ten minutes.

Twilight looked at Luna and said "Where is Dusk, its time to go"

Crystal

Dusk sat stubbornly on a high ceilling beam, oblivious to her mothers and aunts calls. Her six godmothers were sitting off to the side, the rainbow maned one looked amused at her defiance. " Dusk Nanette Lunar, come down here this instant" Celestia barked, her patiance gone, Dusk peeked over the beam and blew a rasberry down at her aunt.

Applejack chuckled "When they said that she had Big Mac DNA, they weren't kiddin" Celestia shot a icy cold glare at Applejack, she stared right back. Luna was at the edge of her patiance as she was pacing agrivatedly. Twilight who could feel the tension between the filly and ruler stood up and trotted over to the two sisters "may i try to get her down?" the sisters looked at each other, seeming to communicate silently.

They ended the conversation and nodded and flew over to join the other ponys on the sidelines. "Popcorn?" Pinkie asked inocently waving a large tub of over buttered popcorn infront of the Princesses. "No? Ok more for me!" She said pulling the tub back grabbing a hoofful shoving it in her mouth, a pair of 3-D glasses rested on her snout. Twilight flapped her wings gaining altitude, a few feet away from the beam a quesadilla was tossed off the beam and landed perfectly on Twilights horn.

Strands of sticky cheese wrapping around her horn and tangeled in her mane, She screached flailing around trying to get the cheesey monstrosity off her. If Spike didnt conveniently walk by with a giant pillow she would have been a twi-pancake, "Thank you Spike" she said Luna's magic working the cheese out of her hair, Rainbow and Pinkie were rolling on the floor laughing as Fluttershy looked up at the sulking figure on the beam.

She quietly left the group unnoticed and fluttered up to the beam a few feet away from Dusk, Dusk looked up at her entrance. "Hey Dusk" she said in her whisper like voice "hey Shy" she said her voice raw from shouting at Celestia, "Are you ok?" Dusk just hid her face behind her hair, her frame shaking slightly. Fluttershy's maternal instinct kicking in as she scooted the last few feet to Dusk, before wrapping a wing around her and pulling her in for a embrace.

Dusk openly cried into Fluttershys chest muttering unitelligible words and sobbing, a few minutes passed and the crying subsided to soft hiccups. Fluttershy gently pulled Dusk from her chest looking her in her silver eyes, somehow not a trace of red lingered. "Whats the matter" she asked her own eyes looking into hers, Dusk sniffed "Mama dosnt love me anymore, and she's sending me away."

Her face found its way back to Fluttershy's chest, " oh Honey, what makes you think that?" Fluttershy asked her hoof lifting the fillies chin "i heard her and auntie Tia talking about the guard i attacked, and about sending me away for months. She probably hates me now that i ruined her reputation" Dusk whimpered, Fluttershy nuzzeld her

"Your Mama loves you with all her heart. She's sending you away so you can have a long sleepover with me and your godmothers" Dusk looked skeptical "really?" She asked tillting her head slightly giving her the ability of perfect puppy eyes. "Yes Duskie, i Pinkie swear" Fluttershy went through the motions amd chant, Dusk chirrped pleased with the answer. She propped herself on Fluttershy's shoulder, as Fluttershy lightly glided down, Fluttershy chirrped back.

When her hooves touched the marble Dusk sprang off of Fluttershy and bolted down the hallway, Celestia was ready to fly after her. "No no no no. She just packing her bags" Fluttershy said. The whole room sighed in relief, even the guards who were tired of the endless bickering.

"How did you get her down" Luna asked approching the cream pegasus, "I had to comfort her, she thought you hated her and was sending her away for beating up the guard" Luna was shocked, she nearly made the same mistake her own father and mother made, they often sent her away after she did something wrong. Dusk returned a minute later a large duffel bag floating above her head envoped in a grey aruora, a hypogriffen plushy laid on her back its limbs dangling.

Luna crouched down to Dusk's size and nuzzled her, Dusk nuzzled back chirping softly, "love you Mama" Luna smiled softly "and we love you too, my little star". Dusk gently rubbed a small wing on Luna's, "Come on sugercube, we need to catch our ride" Applejack called from the doorway. Dusk nuzzled Luna on last time before speeding off to Applejack, who allowed her to ride on her back. Dusk smiled waving at her Mother before disapearing around the corner, Luna smiled her little star is in safe hooves.

The ride over was uneventful, Dusk was asking questions the whole way over. They devised a plan, every week Dusk would stay with a different godmother, for the first week it was Rarity. Rarity herself was not very good with foals, "Dusk darling, do you want to help me with this dress i must finish?" Dusk chirped and hopped onto her back, Rarity chuckled at the fillys inthusiasm trotting to her boutique slightly slower.

Dusk was enjoying the beautiful senery until a sparkly object caught her sight, "Rarity, what is the giant crystal tree for?" Rarity smiled "Thats Twilight's home" Dusk swished her tail, "Dosn't it get lonely? It is a big castle, and its to shiny for the town." Rarity nodded in agreement "Yes i know but Twilight's a very solitary mare, and she has Spike and her little owl." Dusk sneezed, "you have a very. . . strong scent to your mane" Rarity flicked her mane in reply " dosn't it smell wonderful darling?" She exclamed

"Nope" Dusk deadpanned "its too strong, you knocked out six ponys on the way here" Rarity turned her head to see six ponys on the ground, passed out some of thier limbs twitching. Rarity gasped and galloped home in record time, she took several deep breaths inhaling the toxic perfume. A cup of water floated over her head and was upturned, the cold water hitting Rarity's mane killing the perfume scent.

"All better" Dusk said before gliding off her back and running around the boutique her bag layed forgotten on the stairs, Rarity sighed a smile on her face as she quickly restyled her mane. A loud meow was heard from the other room, Rarity forgot to tell Dusk about Opalecence who know what could she could do to Dusk, she galloped into the room to see her cat purring at Dusk weaving herself between her legs.

"You didnt tell me you had a cat!" Dusk exclamied playfuly batting the cat with her tail, her face of injoyment suddenly turned to one of horror , "you haven't had her fixed have you?" Rarity shook her head rapidly "oh heavens no, Fluttershy would have my neck if i did" A look of relief washed over Dusk "oh good, if she was i would have to find out what the kitten bump was."

Rarity rose a eyebrow "kitten bump?" Dusk jumped up and down "yes a kitten bump, you didn't know she's pregnant?" Rarity gasped "She's pregnant! i thought she was just getting fat" Dusk shook her head " nope see here its isolated to the stomach area, if she was fat it would be on the chest and legs too." Rarity crouched to get a better look at Opalecence's underbelly, ture to her word It was mostly in the stomach area.

Rarity cringed at the thought of little Opalecence's running around, "awww that sucks" Dusk whinned her hoof was feeling around the kitten bump, "only one kitten? Oh and its has a month or two, before its says hello the the real world" Dusk explained. Rarity just smiled "come on Darling lets work on that dress"

"That was amazing Dusk, i didnt know you that much one color combinations" Rarity praised Dusk had a slight blush from all the praise, "it was nothing Rarity, it was a ton of fun! Can we do this again sometime?" She asked tilting her head slightly, "certanly, i injoyed that too".

The front door swinged open, "Rarity!" A medolic voice called out, "the sleepover was cancelled" the voice said, the voice belonged to Sweetiebelle who came into veiw, then stopped in her tracks. "Rariy what is a alicorn filly doing here?" Rarity groaned "Sweetie this is Dusk, Princess Luna's daughter."

The two stayed in a intense stare compition, Dusk blinked. The two burst out laughing, Rarity looked confused. "Its a filly thing" Sweetiebelle said. "Everytime a filly comes home and a differnt filly is there first, they must have a stareing contest to see who is dominate." Dusk explained.

Rarity rolled her eyes "now who wants some oatmeal cookies?"

"What's school?" Dusk asked her head tilting to the left, a puzzled expression plastered on her face. Rarity smiled at the fillys cluelessness "Duskie school is a place where you go to learn, and make friends" Dusk face broke into a grin, "I love making new friends" she squeaked hopping around Sweetiebelle in a Pinkie like way.

Sweetiebelle who was getting dizzy by the hopping Dusk, smiled at her enthusiasm "and you'll be in my class" She announced Dusk chirped and stopped hopping to hug Sweetie. Rarity smiled at the two they were precious, she grasped two saddlebags in her magic one was Sweetiebelle's normal one white withh jems on the straps, the other was Dusk's new one it was indigo with silver stars and moons.

"Come now we must not miss school, should we?" Rarity asked walking out the door, leaving the two fillies scrambiling after her each grabbing their bag with magic. Dusk chirped before hopping onto Sweetie's back, Sweetie stumbled balancing the new weight for a second, before continuing her regular gait. Then again Dusk was smaller than the avarge fillie roughly the size of a foal, but she had the basic knowledge on magic and extraodinary knowledge in astronomy.

But they didn't learn astronomy or teach magic in school, the school was only a five minute walk from the boutique, by the time they got there Dusk was hopping from Rarity's back to Sweetiebelle's. Neither minded it was nice to see a smiling face, and her hooves were soft from her lack of walking like a mini massage.

"Well darling this is were i must depart, do have fun today though." Rarity smiled nuzzling Dusk who was from experiance was very clingy, " okay, bye!" Dusk called as Rarity walked, then away joining Sweetie who was frowning "what is it?" She asked Sweetie shook her head "My friends aren't going to be here this week, so its going to be boring for me" Dusk pouted "im boring?" She asked crossing her hooves, Sweetie chuckled "no you're certantly not".

Dusk smiled running into classroom looking around until she found the teacher, "Excuse me" she asked looking up at the teacher who looked down and smiled "Im new here" Dusk said her head tiltted. Ms. Cherrilee chuckled at the small filly amused, "Well then welcome young one, whats your name?" Dusk smiled back "Dusk ma'am" she said smiling, "Hello Dusk, my name is Ms. Cherrilee. Your desk is next to Diamond Tiara, i hope you two will get along." Dusk chirped pleased, and trotted to her new desk.

She was sitting between a grey and filly and a pink filly, who snickered apon her arrival whispering remarks "fake wings" the pink one said making the grey one cackle, in agreement. "Attention class" Ms.Cheerilee said stomping her hooves against the worn wooden floor "We have a new student today, Dusk do you mind introducing yourself to the class?"

Dusk chirped and gracfully maneuvered out of her seat and to the front, jumping ontop of Ms.Cheerile for added effect. "Hi, my name Dusk Nanette Lunar." She said a victorious grin on her face "what do you like to do Dusk?" Ms. Cheerilee asked hopping to spark a conversation. "I like to raise the stars, create new stars, chirp, and outsmart guards. I exceed in lunar magic, and giving massages." She finished gently moving her hooves around Ms. Cherrilee's back making her close her eyes in enjoyment.

A black hoof shot into the air, "are you a alicorn?" The black hoof asked that was attached to a small black Pegasus colt with a electric yellow mane. Dusk smiled "Yes, yes i am. Any more questions?" A pink hoof raised in the air "Why are you a still blank flank!" She screeched failing at hidding her laughter, Dusk blinked

"um, i do have a cutie mark see" she turned giving the whole class a solid look at her cutie mark, she didn't notice the black colt's face turning lobster red. The pink filly stopped mid laugh making her snort, "Wait Sweetiebelle has non-blank flank friends? Ain't that a shocker" She said out loud making the class giggle, Dusk's ear twitched her eyes narrowed

"Okay then what does your cutie mark mean, smartflank?" She asked in a unnaturally calm voice, Diamond Tiara glared at her sticking her snout in the air "It means that i am wealthy, and better than you peasants" she said in a stuck up voice. Dusk chuckled "So your better than Princess Luna?" Her voice still holding the calm tone, Diamond Tiara faltered, "No but i am better than you, alicorn wannabe" she snapped Dusk chuckled and cleared her throat

"I am royalty, you have ten seconds to apologise before i call Mother Luna, to beat your flank" she hissed in a dangerous voice Diamond Tiara's eyes grew the size of plates, "Lier" she choked out shivering. Dusk smiled "Five seconds" she sang, five seconds past in absolute silence. Dusk swallowed air "MOTHER!!!!" She yelled making the whole room jump in surprise, the clouds outside grew gray, gathering above the school house encasing it in shadow.

"I'm sorry!!" Diamond wailed shivering in a small ball, Dusk smiled "NEVER MIND" She yelled the clouds dissipated hopping off Ms. Cherrilee snapping her out of her trance, "Good Diamond Flank" Dusk sneered at the pink filly as she walked by, the grey one had a look of fear and anger.

Dusk sat in her seat, silently she opened a mind link with Sweetiebelle 'Why did you do that?' Sweetie asked baffled 'because she was talking smack about my cuz, you would have done the same if you were in my hooves.' Dusk explained 'True' Sweetie said closing the link and focusing on the teacher tell a student that ten plus nine was not twenty-one.

Soon the school day ended the bell rung and the students left the building, Dusk was waiting on Sweetiebelle who had to turn in some late work. Silver spoon seeing the filly alone thought that it would be the perfect time to attack her. She was about to pouce her rump in the air cat pouce ready, untill a stick smacked her rump making her yelp.

The stick was held in a dark blue aroura, "We heard a pair of fillies have been bullying my daughter's cousions" Luna said towering over the grey filly, Silver spoon glupped running away the, stick smacking her rump once more before being dropped. The illusion fadded away Dusk's horn stopped glowing, Sweetiebelle stepped out of the school house

"Ready to go Dusk?" She asked standing still allowing the filly to jump on her back, Dusk chirped "Can we get a milkshake?" She asked innocently her head tilting "I'll pay" she added. Sweetiebelle changed course "Sure thing Duskie" They traveled chatting about canterlot, flavors and Opal, "How long have they bullied you?" Dusk asked out of nowhere, Sweetiebelle groaned "A year" she replied, Dusk snorted "Well they wont bother you anymore" she said triumphantly.

She could fell Sweetiebelle tense up under her hooves, "Nothing major just showed them who's boss" as soon as she finished her sentance they arrived at Sugarcube Corner. They entered welcomed by the scent of warm pastries, and laughing ponys. A pink poofy maned mare was at the register, "OMG Dusk i haven seen you in forever, even thoight its only been two days. Crazy how that stuff works, now do you want to buy something?"

Pinkie said Dusk smiled at thr mare, "Yes we'll have a vanilla bean milkshake, a blue raspberry milkshake, and two extra large chocolate chip cookies " Pinkie smiled and zoomed off to the kitchen, a second later she returned with the requested sugary snacks "okay doki loki, that will be 19 bits please" Dusk opened her saddlebag pulling out a pouch she counted twenty-five bits levitating them to Pinkie who looked confused

"a tip" Dusk explained grasping the treats in her magic, Sweetiebelle walking back to the boutique holding her drink in her own magic. "This is great you know that" she said slurping on her drink, Dusk chirped in agreement drinking her drink in the same fashion. They talked inbetween slurps and munchs, until they made it back to the boutique. Dusk hopped off of Sweetiebelle's back and ran into the guest room to write a letter to her mother.

Sweetiebelle smiled, Dusk truly was special.

Pengiun

The rest of the week at Rarity's was fun for the whole household. Sweetiebelle was overprotective of Dusk, one time she kicked Caramel in his stallionhood when he made a comment about her being a fake alicorn. In return Dusk helped Sweetiebelle on her magic, by Thursday she could pick up Dusk and Rarity a huge improvement.

Rarity enjoyed the small alicorns company, as Dusk had a eye for colors and where to put the perfect amount of poof. Dusk was happy. She loved her big cousin, they did karaoke and braided each other manes. And of course they did stupidly dangerous stunts to get Sweetiebelle's cutie mark, still unsuccessful as of now.

The stars now reacted to Dusk's emotions when they weren't positioned already, she semed to always be happy so the stars danced to the sound of her heartbeat. She was always happy, except in the morning then she had a temper to match Sombra. And Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon haven't bothered anypony all week.

But alas the week seemed to pass quickly too quickly for the household, even Opal was sad to see the filly leave. But a deal was a deal, this week it was Rainbow who was to watch over the filly. "When is she going to be here?" Dusk asked irritated dangling upsidedown on the back of the couch, Rarity rubbed her forehead internaly groaning at Rainbow who was five hours late! Sure she was fashionably late, but five hours was pushing it to an extreme.

Sweetie was lazily stroking Opal, who at this point was also bored. Dusk smiled and hopped onto Rarity's back and glided outside perched on a rock she looked at the sky "FREE APPLE CIDER" she yelled making Rarity jump and, causing Sweetie to step on Opal's tail. But it had the needed affect, a multicolored blur zipped out of the sky and skidded to a stop infront of Dusk. "Where's the cider" Rainbow asked scanning the surrounding area for the crisp liquid, Dusk burst out laughing actualy falling off the rock in the midst of her laughter. Pinkie would be proud. Rainbow frowned "no cider?" She asked heartbroken, Dusk rolled her eyes and nuzzled her cheek.

Rarity stormed out of the boqutie clearly furrious at the rainbow maned mare, who gulped and tried to fly away. Only to be caught in a blue aroua and yanked backwards, a orange duffle bag dropped on her back flattening her to the earth under the sheer weight. Dusk chirped and hopped on her head bending over to look at Rainbows eyes "i love your eyes" she said hopping onto Sweetie's back as she trotted out to see what the comotion was about.

Rainbow face hooved "it was my week wasn't it" she asked, Dusk chirped her small wing fluttering. Rarity smiled glad that she threw to the mare turnning to Dusk, "Good bye my dear Duskie, you will be missed greatly. Do visit though, i think Sweetie misses being the big sister" Rarity said nuzzling her, Dusk smiled and nuzzled back "I'll miss you guys too" she said nuzzling Sweeties ear in affection. She chirped and hopped of Sweetie and glided to the flabergasted pegasus, still being semi-crushed by her bag.

Dusk grabbed her bag in her magic with a certin finesse that few had, Rainbow gasped and breathed in the wonderful air. Dusk smiled at the funny mare and walked onto her back, the feeling of small smooth hooves subconsciously massaging her ligaments startled Dashie. Trying not to be bucked off Dusk sat down and wrapped her tail around Rainbow's waist, "what" Dusk asked tilting her head. "Y-y-you're standing on me" Rainbow fumbled trying to find a reason that didn't make her sound like a scardy cat.

She couldn't.

"Well i can't fly yet silly, and you live in a cloud mansion right?" She explained. Rainbow face hooved for the what had to be the fifth time that day, "Alright Twinkle, better hold on" Rainbow said already in a crouching position, Dusk wrapped her hooves around Rainbows neck. Rainbow took of into the sky doing a few corkscrews to impress the princess. Dusk squeaked and buried her head into Rainbows mane, "Whats the matter Twinkle? Don't like heights?" Rainbow asked slowly making her way to her house, Dusk sqeaked again and gripped rainbows waist tighter with her tail.

Rainbow rolled her eyes "Come one Twinkle, i don't speak mouse" Dusk risked lifting one hoof to firmly thump Rainbows chest in a stallion-like way. Rainbow laughed at the weak attempt of affection. "I like you Twinkle, oh right listen i have another fillie over right now, Scootaloo, i watching her for her parents. So play nice and don't shove her off any clouds she can't fly yet." Dusk's ears perked up lifting her face from Rainbow's mane "she can't fly?" She asked in a curious voice her grip losining slightly

"Yes now don't go and tease her about it she's really sensitiv-mphh" Rainbow gaged as Dusked shoved a hoof in her mouth " i can't fly either" she said softly, removing her hoof from Rainbows mouth "but ive seen you fly around the castle, and town" Dusk snorted "Thats called gliding, not flying" she said before shoving her face back into the mane. Rainbow hummed thougtfuly deep in thought, "Your'e Pengiun" she said out loud gently touching down at her house.

Dusk released her grip tapping Rainbows head " for what" she asked amused catching the breeze with her wings. Rainbow spread her wing like a plank so Dusk could walk off, but Dusk tapped the base of Rainbow's wing making her wing recoil. "Ok, were here you can get off now" Rainbow said impatiently Dusk chirped softly "were still a ways from the house, my legs are... weak they are aparently underdeveloped compared to the rest of me. Insernt some unicorns explanation of how magic made ponies don't live past a month, and are weaker than a normal pony, blah blah blah. The usual" she said dramaticly in a Rarity like fashion, Rainbow chuckled at the small alicorn trotting along hooves squishing the cloud.

A crash and what sounded like a special sound effects box being over used, was heard from the house Rainbow cursed and flew to her house barraling though the wall not aware that Dusk didn't make it through the wall with her.

Scootaloo tried to hide under the rug, "Scootaloo i told you not to do hoofball in the house!" Rainbow yelled sweeping up the broken objects with her wings. Scootaloo sniffed the air Rainbow smelled off. Like changling and lunar dust with a hint of Sweetiebelle, "where's your passanger?" Scoot asked curiously trying to pinpoint the smell.

Rainbow froze her wings flexing she cursed violently and flew through the wall Scoot followed her sniffing around to find the trail "were are you Pengiun" Rainbow muttered scanning the surounding clouds. Scoot caught it the scent ran into the wall bounced off and fell off the cloud, "Rainbow the scent leads this way" she called pointing to the earth, Rainbow's blood ran cold she just let the princess of the stars fall of a cloud, Luna's daughter.

She let her Pengiun fall off a cloud, and Pengiuns can't fly.

Falling

Dusk was falling, she knew that feeling a lightheaded feeling that left her giggling her head off. Luna smiling at her antics, a gentle wing nudging her wings to show her how to glide faster. But Luna wasn't here and neither was her godmothers, her head hurt she wanted to feel for a bump like Luna did when she crash landed.

But the g-force had her spread eagle desperately trying to unfold her wings to give her a chance at survival, Dusk couldn't even keep her eyes open in the brutal wind much less unfold her wings. She didn't even know how she ended up falling, just that she heard the wind and felt her head become light. Her oatmeal was crawling up her throat leaving a bad taste in her mouth.

She tried to levitate herself her horn sparked, and wave of cold and burning pain washed over her body a single tear escaped her eyelids. Just her luck, the side effects of being a magic created alicorn kicked in as she lost feeling in her limbs starting to creep up her body. NO,NO,NO not now please Celestia not now she begged, the numbness creeped along her spine numbing her neck and the she couldn't feel at all. Not even the icy water that slowly clutched her heart and filled her lungs.

"YOU LOST DUSK?!" Twilight roared her face turning a deep purple, Rainbow tried to hide behind Fluttershy who was almost white as Rarity. Rarity could have been mistaken for Big Mac with her apple red face, even Pinkie looked at Rainbow disappointed. The tension in the air was so thick you could lick it, as four mares waited for the other to explode first.

"you lost her" Fluttershy whispered her face was calm but her eyes caught everypony's attention, "you lost a precious little star" she continued her eyes narrowed piercing Rainbows soul, "How could you LOSE A FILLIY THAT WAS ON YOUR BACK" she bellowed sending everypony into a state of shock. “Fluttershy dear, what has gotten into you?” Rarity asked horrified.

“That filly was in tears when she had to go with us! She thought she was being abandoned by her own mother! And she was trusting us to keep her safe, and you lose her as she was ON YOUR BACK, THE SAFIST PLACE A FILLY COULD EVER BE!” Fluttershy roared stomping her hoof on the ground, “Easy sugarcube, don’t hurt your voice with all that shoutn’ ” Applejack said wrapping a hoof around Fluttershy’s neck. Fluttershy took several deep breaths leaning against Applejack, Rainbow covered her face with her hooves.

“Oh no” Twilight gasped levitating several books over flipping through the pages, “What’s it Twily?” Pinkie asked leaning closer to the books. “She’s a magic created pony! She won’t survive extreme g-force without going completely numb, or into a vegetative state! But that might just keep her alive on impact!” Fluttershy gasped her eyes becoming pinpricks, slipping out of Applejack’s hug she flew to the door at speeds that rivaled Rainbow’s.

“F-Fluttershy?” Rainbow asked flying after her, Fluttershy’s eyes burned with unshed tears as she sped out the front doors. She stopped her wings beating stronger than normal, “are you happy Rainbowdash?” she asked softly “I’m going to need to say a hello to my Mother, so we might be able to fix your mistake” Leaving a pink and yellow streak behind her, Fluttershy sped off, leaving a stunned Mane 5 behind. “Did anypony else know she could do that?” Pinkie asked licking the streak left behind by Fluttershy, “My question is who’s her mother? She’s never really told me” Rarity said trying to figure out how she was going to explain to Sweetiebell, that her surrogate sister is possibly dead.

“Twilight, don’t ya have a book er somethin’ that would tell us?” Applejack asked tipping her hat back to see how far the streak went, “That’s right! Come on girls let’s see who Fluttershy’s mom is!” Twilight said running back into the castle. Levitating a heavy book off the shelf she opened it, skimming it quickly her eyes narrowed as she read the small print above Fluttershy’s name. “Girls…” she said trailing off as she finished reading, being crowded around as they all read the small print. “Sweet Celestia…” Rainbow said smiling softly, “That’s why you never talked about her”

Dusk coughed weakly, her lungs hurt and she was cold as wind whistled past. “Hold on kiddo we’re almost there” a soft voice said, Dusk shivered and tried to burrow herself deeper in the fur, a long soft tail wrapped around her like a blanket. Dusk coughed and tasted salt trying to enjoy the soft fur, “Orion, Scorpio, Leo, Taurus, Ares, Cancer, Hydra” she mumbled, the soft voice chuckled. “What are those” she asked, Dusk smiled a little bit “Constellations, my Mama told me about them” She said coughing, the tip of the soft tail rubbed her forehead.

“Hush, young one we are here try to rest while I get help” Mère said softly landing in front of the Griffenstone hospital, running through the emergency door she went in to Fils’ office. Fils looked up as his mother burst into the room, her snow leopard tail curled up on her back “Mom? What are you doing here?” He asked standing up, his white tiger tail nocking pens off “Fils look, I found her in the ocean. She had to be in the water for more than ten minutes, I’m surprised she’s alive” Mère said her eagle face full of worry about the poor filly.

Fils looked the small pony over, “Mom…” he said “this is an alicorn” examining Dusk’s wings and horn. “Is she okay?” Mère asked running her tail down Dusk’s spine, “Yes she is fine, just a cold, no brain damage, or water in her lungs. Like you said this is baffling, if she was in the water for more than two minutes she would have died. But it’s as if her systems shut down completely, there are signs that her lungs were at one point filled with water. But then it was drained within the minute, it peculiar but if she’s an alicorn, I’m not going to question it.” Fils said plucking a pen off the ground with his tail, he wrote a prescription for her fever and cough.

“Oh thank you Fils, you’ll be home tonight right? I’m making salmon” Mère said wrapping her tail around the filly again, Fils smiled and shooed his mother out so he could continue his paperwork. Mère smiled and flew to her nest ready to show her find to Gilda her new friend.

Fluttershy landed softly at the front door of her mother’s house, taking a deep breath she knocked on the door. The door opened “Hello welco- Fluttershy?” She asked dropping her pin on the floor, “Hello Mom” Fluttershy said her face tinged a light pink after her flying. “Oh Fluttershy come in, it’s been forever” She cried pulling her daughter into the house, using her wing to shut the door she sat Fluttershy on the couch.

“Earl or Chamomile?” She asked from the kitchen nudging the kettle of the hot stove, “Chamomile” Fluttershy said fiddling with her mother’s trophy, the gold pony mocking her. “Tell me Fluttershy, why have you come home on such short notice?” She asked balancing the teacups on her yellow wings, Fluttershy took the cup and a careful sip. “I have a favor to ask Mom” Fluttershy said “Well you know I would do anything for you, so what do you need?” She asked.

“I need you to get the WonderBolts to search Shark Ocean, and Griffenstone for a filly. Her name is Dusk and she fell of a cloud above the ocean.” Fluttershy said turning away to hide her tears, “Fluttershy you know I will, but I need a physical description” Fluttershy smiled “she’s an alicorn, and has three stars, and a crescent moon for a cutie mark” she said softly.

Her mother paled her wings spread reflexively “We have a missing princess?” she asked stumbling around trying to get her suit on, “yes we do” Fluttershy said zipping up her mother’s suit. “Hey Fluttershy, want to race to the base? You always beat me” Fluttershy smiled “sure mom”

Wonder

Spitfire wasn't easily scared, at least not as much as other ponies. But to her the prospect of a lost Princess that was truly terrifying, and she wasn't sure how she was going to tell her team. But beneath all this fear was a spark of happiness her daughter was talking to her again, if only to ask a favor, but seeing her daughter fly circles around her was a beautiful. Her little flame was one of the best flyers she had ever seen and it filled Spitfire with pride, only if she didn't vow to only use it in emergencies, she could surpass Rainbow Dash.

But Fluttershy was too kind for that, she let her mellow nature take control, but she knew Firesky was still there. When Firesky saw her Father Flusterkind fall through the cloud when the spell keeping him up failed, she was horror struck. Spitfire smiled fondly at the memory of her husband, Flusterkind was the nicest earth stallion she ever meant although easily flustered, he was the pony who cheered the loudest for her first performance. Much like her daughter did for her friend Rainbow, but don't get Firesky and Fluttershy mixed up they in fact have the exact same mane, same coat, same soft voice, same eyes, even the same body.

But there one difference, Firesky saw her father die, Fluttershy didn't. Spitfire hasn't seen Firesky in a long time but today she saw a small sliver of Firesky peeking out from behind that curtain of pink mane, her stronger flying was one of the clearer signs that Fluttershy let Firesky take the reins. Even so there was this haunted look to her face, almost as if she saw a ghost. Almost as if she had to relive her father’s death. Gasping in air Spitfire landed on the cloud next to Fluttershy (or was she Fireshy?), the yellow pony leaned on her as a sign of comfort.

This was defiantly Firesky, as she was much more like her mother, touchy, speedy, and no respect of personal space. While Fluttershy had more of Flusterkind, sweet, shy, innocent, and that sense of selflessness that would make Celestia feel selfish. "She fell" Firesky whispered in Spitfire's ear catching the Wonderbolt off guard, "Dusk was riding on a ponies back and she, fell off" she choked tears gathering in her eyes.

Spitfire turned to her daughter and nuzzled her neck "I know it must hurt, but I believe in you and you must stay strong for her.” Firesky scrubbed her eyes in a vain attempted to hide her tears, but she smiled. Never took much to motivate her. Spitfire stood up offering a wing to Firesky, who took it sheepishly.

“SPITFIRE!” Soarin cried crashing through several clouds breathing heavy “We-we-we got a message from Griffinstone, an alleged princess was found” he said pushing his googles up his forehead.

Spitfire smiled “Soarin im going to take a day off, tell the rest of the team” Firesky briefly nuzzled Spitfire’s neck before diving off the cloud, a speechless Soarin watched as the Pegasus reached Wonderbolt speed, then some.

“I thought Dash told me she wasn’t this fast. And why did she nuzzle you?” He asked cocking his head to the side slightly,

“Oh that’s right” Spitfire said putting her goggles on “I never told you about Firesky and Fluttershy have i?”

Gasping for air Dusk peaked around the corner of the building, she lost her sighing relief she sat down and caught her breath. It wasn’t that she didn’t like Gilda it was just that she was… scary was the best word. Looking out into the street she saw a sea of griffins, at this rate she was never going to get home. Then Dusk noticed a large pony, his long thick coat was brown with black wisps of fur that seemed to move. A long tangled pine green mane nearly touched the pathway as he moved along in, his long strides making it hard to keep up. “Excuse me” Dusk said weaving her way through the griffins, the large pony stopped and looked down at the small princess.

“Hello there young one” his voice rumbled like an earthquake.

Dusk smiled “can we go somewhere to talk?” she asked nudging his legs with her wings, he chuckled another earthquake shook his frame. He held out his dinner plate sized hoof and Dusk hopped on he dropped her on his head and walked rather quickly into a library, he walked through another door and held his head low enough for Dusk to hop off.

“So young Dusk what brings you here?” he asked his voice sounded more female inside, softer like snow.

“I came to ask fo- wait. How do you know my name?” she asked he had no wings or horn, just a large earth pony.

He chuckled “Well Twilight writes about you, and Luna is quite proud of you.” He said brushing a lock of green hair away from his grey eyes, sparking with a teasing nature.

Dusk huffed and looked the pony in the eye “What’s your name mister? And how do you know Twilight and Luna?” she asked fluttering her wings trying to get to his eye level. Lowering his head he blew on the filly, she squeaked and landed glaring daggers at the pony.

He chuckled but it was softer than outside, “I am not a mister, I am a mare. Name’s OakPen little one, sorry for the misconception. And I know Twilight and your mother because I’m one of the best editors in Equestria, they both send me stories regularly. And they both speak of you.” OakPen said eyes flicking upwards briefly before settling on the filly again.

Dusk made a weird face that turned to confusion “OakPen how are you so big if you’re a mare, no offense. But I only heard of large stallions that weren’t princesses” OakPen chuckled and blew on the filly again, earning a soft giggle.

“Well Dusk I’m what’s known as a Mountain Pony, we grow to be very large. In fact I am still growing, I’m only 14 just like SweetieBelle and her friends. Although I am large for my age, young Dusk, I am just going to continue to grow as I continue. I might even grow to Celestia’s size, but not much past that.” She said standing up she held up out her hoof “now what did you want to discuss?” Dusk hopped on the offered hoof and then OakPen’s head,

“I need a ride home OakPen, and I don’t know where I am” she said watching the world beneath her pass in long strides.

OakPen chuckled it was softer like a small avalanche, “Well Dusk we are in Griffinstone, and I would be happy to give you a ride home. I’m guessing you live in ponyville right now?” she said ducking under several door frames, Dusk shifted her body forwards and backwards to mimic a nod. “Just as I thought I live there too, so we may become friends.” Dusk shifted her body to lean to the right as if to cock her head, “Hmm? You’re wonder why I’m alone?” Dusk mimicked a nod again. OakPen chuckled “Well young Dusk, a Mountain Pony is kicked out at 12 to start their own life, get a job, a home and decent income. And if they have a love, get married. Now before you ask ‘how come you’re the first mountain pony I’ve heard of?’, I am the only mountain pony to leave the Frost Mountains for a very long time.” OakPen kneeled on the floor to let Dusk off on her bed.

“Why?” Dusk asked shifting in the sheets. OakPen sighed and nuzzled Dusk gently “Well Dusk, I loved editing that’s what I got my cutie mark for. But I couldn’t fulfill that dream in the Frost Mountains, so I left with my servant and traveled many places. I learned many things and made many friends, one of my favorites had to be Star Caverns, where I met your mother. It’s a beautiful place where Luna seeked solitude, but that’s the thing with a guilty pony, solitude is the last thing they need. And mountain ponies and Luna go way back”

Dusk cocked her head

“How far? Very far Dusk, we used to be nocturnal creatures, our long coats made it hard to stay in the sunlight. So we slept by day and worked by night, and Luna was very pleased by this. To have some of her subjects bask in her glorious night, to breath it in and embrace its beauty. But other ponies saw us as outsiders, saw us as monsters because we couldn’t stand the sun, or because we we’re so large. And Luna was… unhappy to say the least, but because she loved us she took us to the Frost Mountains where we could stay and live without torment. We have many celebrations about her especially for her final gift, a spell that would allow us to walk in sunlight without the heat. She gave us the ability to change our coats thickness, to filter out the sun if you will.”

Dusk rolled onto her side and smiled blowing on OakPen, she chuckled and nuzzled her. “O-Oaky?” A soft voice stuttered walking into the bedroom, a grey unicorn mare with a cold blue mane and icy eyes walked in.

OakPen smiled “Hello Pinefrost, have you met Dusk yet? Dusk this is my marefriend Pinefrost.”

A Starless Night

The moon slowly crawled crossed the vast abyss of the night sky, not a single star could be seen even the moon glowed a weaker silver than usual. Luna dipped her head down as her duty as princess of the moon ended, her muscles were silently plotting a revenge plan to make her sore tomorrow, and was soon engulfed by her wandering thoughts.

Most of them were memories off the aristocrats that acted as if she was the plague, she tried to meet new ponies and was found a town full of new friends. But even after her nightmare night appearance she was still feared and shunned by many ponys, she wanted to have somepony to talk to or, a pet, or something other than Oliver!

She quietly glared at the rock with two seeds attached to its face to represent eyes ,and a robin mare hat with a yellow feather on the top, great present Tia. She sighed laying down on the soft bed of moss in her special garden, to many it was a horrible garden, that was under kept and overrun with many types of mosses and vines.

But they never saw the true wonders of the garden, beneath the thick layers of dense vines and moss was a clearing, it had a plethora of flowers, fruit trees and a small crystal clear pool of water that glimmered a pale silver in the moonlight. The garden was special to Luna not only for its beautiful core, but for its thriving life that seemed to flood through the whole garden.

She sighed again rolling onto her back so she could look at the starless night, the starless night she allowed, the starless night she made. She rolled back onto her belly staring into her reflection in the pool of water, she allowed a single tear to drip down her face, and it landed in the pond creating a small ripple effect that blurred Luna`s image.

She cried, she hated herself and what was she turning into, a sad pathetic mare with a horrible excuse to be sad. She hated herself more when she stopped adding the stars, she couldn’t make herself do it, it hurt to put up the stars, and not to. And nopony has complained about the lack of stars so for now, she just laid there in the moss under the starless sky.
