Written Competition

Then enter Twilight Sparkle's Writing Competition and find out the answer to all those questions.
Write about whatever you want (keeping the story under 3 pages) and give the finished project to Twilight Sparkle to judge.

This had been a flier that Twilight had asked Spike, her little dragon assistant, to hand out to their friends, namely Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, over a week ago to let them have time to write their stories.
Today everyone had come back and handed their smart friend their stories all with big smiles and high hopes that they would win this thing.
A few hours later, Twilight came back and regally made it to her seat at the table holding the stories in her magic, and not looking at anyone in particular.
After she had got to her seat, and settled down, she set the stories on the table and brought her hooves together looking over to her friends.
"You are probably wondering what took so long for me to choose a winner..." she began, her eyes scanning her friends. "Well in fact I couldn't choose one. Because they were all horrible! Seriously guys did you lot even go to school?" she asked jumping up and slamming her hoof onto the table shocking everyone and Fluttershy to duck underneath it for safety.
"Look at this, look at this," Twilight carried on, showing one of the stories, and holding it up showing everyone all the red marks, and corrections she had written on it.
"Rainbow," she began "Everyone knows that when ever you are stating someponies name, you need to use a capital letter," she began shifting to the next story.
"Applejack. Commas are only used for separating clauses - and punctuation must always come before closing speech marks."
"Rarity. That is not how you spell 'Sympathy' ," she said pointing to the word on Rarity's story spelling out S-i-m-p-a-t-h-e-e.
"Fluttershy," she carried on "You can't keep repeating yourself. You've told me 'It was dark' five times in just the first paragraph."
"Pinkie. Your character is all over the place. It just didn't make sense."
Now turning to the CMC Twilight held up their joint story which had the most red on it.
"CMC. You just had too much going on," she said.
"So because of this... I'm cancelling this stupid contest," she said throwing the papers into the air, so they scattered everywhere. Then stormed off to her room.
After that was taken care of, Spike came in with a tray of snacks and smiling with high hopes for everyone.
"So who's the winner then?" he asked taking his seat next to Twilight's shocked by all the glares he was getting when he looked up.
"No one apparently, Spike," Applejack said "Turns out our stories are all 'horrible' and 'have too many mistakes in them' for her to choose one."
"Well what sort of mistakes?" Spike asked asking to see the stories.
After a few minutes of nodding and muttering to himself, Spike looked up and said to them "You girls do remember Twilight's from Canterlot and was the student of Celestia right?" he asked smirking a bit as he pulled out some new pieces of paper and ink from no where.
"So..." they all asked.
"So, and no offense to you lot or the school system here," he said "She was taught proper Equestrian and all the rules about writing and spelling and all the junk like that. And this is also Twilight we're dealing with remember, you all know how fussy she gets with stuff like this."
Getting nods, and shrugs, the girls all gathered around the dragon to see what he was doing.
"So, lets try again," he said, loading up the quill. "You lot all work out together what you want me to write, and I do it so Twilight wont get upset about it."
For the rest of the afternoon the nine of them were working on their new story, each girl slipping in pieces from their own in there, as well as adding some new sections.
"And finally 'The End'," Spike said as they finished.
"But um... Twilight said she was going to cancel the competition," Fluttershy said weakly "How are we going to get her to read this?"
"We shall just have to ask her to read it," Rarity said getting up and picking up the story, heading to Twilight's room.

In her room Twilight was reading one of the Daring Do stories, reading always calmed her down, when a knock came to the door.
"Twilight darling," Rarity's voice came through the wood. "We've all written another story together with Spike helping us this time, do you think you can look at it and tell us what you think?"
Twilight got up and answered the door.
"Ok Rarity," she said opening the door, "I'll have a look at it."
With that she snatched the sheets of papers from Rarity and shut the door again. Back leaning against it, Twilight heard a 'Humph' from the fashionista and her walking away.
Slowly Twilight went over to her desk and flicked the lamp on, her heart melting as she saw the title...
'The Day Twilight Sparkle Came to Ponyville'
Slowly, Twilight began to read spotting Spike was the one writing it and the beginning when the character was still in Canterlot, but noticing that when it got to her meeting six new friends, the ones outside the door in question took over.
She read how 'Twilight' found out about Nightmare Moons return and wanted to warn the Princess, who then sent her to Ponyville.
How she met a two shaded pink pony who rushed off with out any word.
How she went up to the towns farm, with her dragon to check on the food and met the Apple Family.
How she saw a cyan blue Pegasus clear the sky of clouds in ten seconds flat.
How after checking on the decor a white Unicorn with silky purple hair pushed her to that Unicorns dress shop and she got to try on so many amazing dresses.
How she met a shy timid Pegasus pony singing with the birds to teach them what to do during the celebration.
And finally Pinkie's surprise welcome to Ponyville party.
Carrying on Twilight read how the six ponies in the story went off into the forest after the villain Nightmare Moon came and ruined the celebration, meaning the friends needed to hunt down the Elements of Harmony to use against her, and all the challenges she placed before them.
Rounding up with the girls being assigned the new bearers of the Elements, Princess Celestia coming back, Luna being freed from the Darkness that made her Nightmare Moon, and 'Twilight' working out friendship.
After reading it once her heart melting even more the longer she read, Twilight Sparkle read the story again this time judging it.

In the 'throne room', if you can call it that, the girls and Spike were waiting in silence all worried on how Twilight will react to the story they had written.
Slowly the door to the Princess' room opened and out came the violet unicorn again, regally walking up to her seat, looking no one particually in the eye, the thought of 'She didn't like the story' going through everyone's minds.
"I have only one thing to say to you lot," the Alicorn said looking around the girls and CMC "And that is... Sorry."
"Wha..?" everyone said confused raising their metaphorical eyebrows.
"Sorry," Twilight said "I am sorry. I shouldn't of been that harsh on you lot when I was saying had bad your stories were," she continued. "But after reading this," she said holding up the new one. "It reminded me that your my friends and I'm yours and that we should treat each other as such. So I can either go over your old stories again and see which one of them would win the compition..." Twilight began "Or if you want, I can dub this the winner and say you've all won."
After a glance around at everyone else around them, the girls all nodded and said together "We want that to be the winner please Twilight."
"Hey that's a point," Rainbow Dash said bringing a halt to the celebrations. "Twi... What exactly IS the prize?"
"The winner was going to be allowed to come with me to the Crystal Empire to see me make a fool of myself on a date I was asked to go on by one of the guards..." Twilight half mumbled, half whispered.
The room was in an uproar and straight away each girl began asking questions and pulling out their own piece of helpfulness to get their friend ready.
One week later...
"So you going to tell us who it is Darling?" Rarity asked as she again checked Twilight's dress was perfect and not a seam was out of place, a strand of hair was going the wrong way or longer than the rest, or a feather was loose, as the others were all bouncing off of the walls of their cart and screaming for excitement in the CMC and Pinkie's case.
"It's..."
