The Immortal Human

It was the first month of november, Chris still tried to keep track of the days even though the ponies count it by seasons, moons and such. Now at the age of 24, three years since his arrival. He always counts himself lucky that Luna was spared another day and night from becoming nightmare moon. Today he had other things to worry about, a large company of griffons with ballistae were positioned on the ridge overlooking a large channel. The two princess' were sailing with a large naval fleet to meet with the King of the griffons. A diplomatic mission no doubt.

He scans the area to strategize where and how he can stop them before they launch an attack on the fleet. His eyes caught sight of buckets of explosive powder used for the explosive tipped arrows the griffons were using. Quickly but silently he goes down the line to meet up with his archers.

"All archers use fire tipped arrows and concentrate fire on the explosive buckets near the ballistae." He orders as the archer ponies light the arrow tips on fire and get ready to take aim, he hears the griffon commander give the order to make ready. The grunts of the griffon military grab the bolts and load them up on the guiding tray. Chris raises his hand as he was about to issue the order. The commander looks at the lead ship, the one decorated with the flag of the two sisters, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, on their thrones side by side. He smirked as he finally issued out the command, "Fire!"

Suddenly, he hears the swish of arrows as the fire tipped bolts landed in the explosive buckets causing massive explosions to burst along the line. His ears twitch as he turns to see a human in black armor, with the lunar crest on his chest running towards the griffons. The ponies yelling out a war charge as they all had swords and spears, galloping rapidly. The griffons were confused and retreated to form a line, finally the ponies and griffons collided as swords clashed and blood spilt.

Chris was on the high ground as he struck from the center gaining a kill, he does a side flip and swings his sword to kill another as he then turns to stab one dead center as he pulls away to kill another before using the momentum to kill one more. One stallion blocks an attack from a bigger griffon, he rolls under and strikes from behind, killing the griffon before jumping back to avoid a strike before striking across to get a kill.

The princess watched from their ship, knowing of the battle and whats taking place as they had a meeting several hours before, a very skilled recon team came back with photos along their route showing griffon movement, of course Chris planned accordingly. Chris intercepted a griffon jumping at him to attack, hitting the midsection as he turns to block an attack, he grabs the griffons claw and slashes downward as he swings at another with his right.

The griffon commander was blocking sword attacks from nearby ponies, striking a few to wound but managing a kill every so often. He gouges out one unlucky stallions eyes, screaming loudly before impaling him with a sword. Chris killed three griffons in quick strokes as was a stallion beside him, turning and bringing his sword down on a griffons back then bucks one over a cliff. The stallion spearsman were knocking down griffons and impaling them with little difficulty.

Luna was watching the battle with great concern for her subjects, but mostly for her mate. Watching him kill the griffons with power and skill put her in a somewhat easier state of mind but she wasn't too comfortable yet. The griffon commander grabbed a nearby stallion uses his two swords to slash him in two places, blocking one sword attack and stabbing another before finishing off the first. Chris grabs a griffon and flips it over as he strikes another at the neck before pulling it down to kill. He turns his sword and stabs an incoming griffon behind him. He pulls it out of the dead warrior to swing it across another as he twirls the sword to bring it down on another enemy grunt.

Chris turns to see the griffon commander shove his sword through one of his stallions, it enraged him as he yells out then charges at the commander, blocking an attack then killing another. The griffon sees the human and quickly pulls out his extra sword as he readies it and gets into a defensive stance. Chris holds his sword high before slowly lowering it down till he is holding it in front of him. The two commanders staring at each other, walking in circles, suddenly the griffon commander screeches and attacks, both swinging swords at each other. Chris swings his at the griffons head but misses as the griffon ducks and moves away.

Chris turns to swing his sword but meets resistance each time before both of them lock swords, the two of them close to each other looking deadset into each others eyes, the griffon looking into the enraged brown eyes of the human in front of him and Chris looking into the golden yellow of the griffon. Chris pushes the commander away and gives himself some distance, the two of them readying their swords, Chris finally engages first with a loud cry, swinging his sword to meet the griffons.

Different stallions across the battlefield were holding their own against the large griffons, using the training Chris has taught them to gain the upper hand. The two princess' were watching from their ships as Luna turns to look at the other side of the cliffs, Celestia turns to look as well as another battle was taking place. Chris' body guard and another Equestrian officer, a stallion by the name of Heavy Hoof was leading the attack.

Bow strings was fighting against four griffons, swinging his sword and swinging it down on one griffon before spinning to attack another. Grass was cut and flying up as Bow was swinging his sword to score multiple kills, he turns and moves his sword to hit a griffon behind him, hitting center mass as he pulls the sword away, the griffon falling onto his back.

Meanwhile Heavy Hoof galloped through the ranks of the griffons, jumping over obstacles as he swings his sword hitting griffons left and right. A heavy set stallion, he was an intimidating pony as he grabs a griffons head with his fore hooves, wrapping his left around the head he raises his sword with his right to bring it down on another as he then pushes the headlocked griffon away before killing him. Heavy Hoof looks around to find another enemy to fight as he gallops, sword ready.

Bow Strings just finished off another griffon before he turns and holds his sword out at two griffons ready to strike. The two ready their swords as they then charge forward with a loud screech. Bow blocks one before turning to swing upwards at another, he catches another barely before twirling his sword to put the last one down. The griffon in charge of that battle was wearing black and red armor, Razor blocked a stallions sword strike and just killed another before seeing Bow Strings. He raises his sword and charges, yelling as the two finally meet.

The two swords clash before the two gain some seperate distance from each other. Bow String and Razor look each other in the eyes, but Bow sees a location that can prove an advantage, a secluded area so he doesn't have to worry about being blindsided by another griffon. He quickly gallops to the area, the griffon giving chase as the two of them can be seen leaping to a different side.

Meanwhile Heavy Hoof was taking on multiple griffons, he just killed one when suddenly two more jumped down on top of him, trying to bring their swords in for the kill, Heavy Hoof blocks the two before grabbing the griffon to the left, holding the sword claw before pushing the two back swinging his sword down to kill the griffon on the right before impaling the one on the left. He then turns to block a third attack and uses the momentum to kill the griffon before galloping off to kill more.

With the battle raging in the background, Bow Strings raises his sword as he was readying himself. he pulls it back and maintains his stance as Razor readies his sword in front of him. Finally the two of the charge at each other, Bow deflects Razors strike to the left before hitting the midsection with a right swing. Razor stopped where he was at, lowering his sword before falling to his knees and collapsing. Bow String turns to hear the stallions cheering as Heavy Hoof smiles and raises his sword in victory.

Luna turns to Celestia with a big smile, "It's a success my sister."

Celestia nods as she looks down at the ships captain, "Increase speed. Pass through the channel. full speed ahead!"

The stallion nods and walks out to the deck as he orders out, "Increase speed! Full speed ahead!"

The stallion oarsmen below yell out together as the drummer keeping the beats issues out the command, "Increase speed! Full speed ahead!"

Chris was still locked in combat with the lead griffon commander, neither one gaining ground, around them the stallions were thinning out the griffons numbers. One stallion jumps and stabs a griffon before ducking underneath and tripping another before plunging its sword into the downed bird.

"GRAAAH!" The griffon yelled out as Chris was on the defensive, blocking strikes and getting pushed back. Chris swung his sword over and under, he jumps and does a back spin kick, hitting the griffon in the chest, making him stagger back for a bit. He rushes in and interlocks swords again as Chris was turned against a rock, he slides his sword away and holds one claw of the commander before trying to push his sword in but hit the griffons armored gauntlet instead.

The griffon had Chris pinned as he couldn't use his sword and had the griffons sword hand in another, breathing heavily and straining with effort, he finally pushes the griffons left arm away, hits him in the chest with an open palm then kicks the commander over the ledge as the griffon rolls down hill rapidly.

Chris walks to the ledge taking a breather as he looks down at his enemy below him, one of the stallion sergeants galloped up to him to look down and see what has happened. A group of surviving griffons rush to aid their commander as they helped him up, the commander looks up at the human with anger and hatred. Chris twirls his sword and readies it at his side, looking down at the griffons with contempt. The commander looks away with humiliation as he orders his troops, "Retreat!"

The griffons in full retreat the stallions cheer as Chris turns to a stallion near him and puts an arm around him in encouragement as the stallion bows his head in respect. Patting his back Chris looks to the retreating griffons as he then readies his built in wings in his armor to report back to his Princess'.

The griffon commander was hobbling along with the remainder of his troops after the disastrous counter ambush.

"Wait, stop!" He orders his second in command to stop as he turns to look at the line formation of the Equestrian armada heading to the Griffon port.

"Christian Harknett.... Christian Harknett you bastard!" He laughs in a somewhat crazed state as he turns to head back to griffon base.

Chris walks up the steps to the small overhang where the sisters were sitting, their top guards with shields conjured up on all sides as their horns glowed. He takes a knee and bows his head as both sisters nod in approval, "I must say, you are very wise in all manners of military strategy and civil affairs. I sometimes wonder what it would be like if you we never had you around." Celestia compliments him as Luna smiles and nods in agreement.

Chris smiles and looks up to look at the two princess sisters, "Its my honor to serve you both."

Celestia holds out her hoof as she waves it over the incoming port of the Griffon kingdom, "Do what you are tasked to do."

The human nods and bows again as he turns and quickly walks down the steps, "Raise the assault flag! First ship commence offshore bombardment! Stay in line formation this will be a strafing pass!"

The ship captain bangs on the drums rapidly as he issues out the command, "Raise the assault flag!"

A red flag is later hoisted up, the first ship in front of the formation turns to make a wide u turn, the broadside of the ship reveals a row of heavy cannons. Chris finally yells at the top of his lungs, "FIRE!"

The cannons boom with a resounding KAPOW, cannonballs launching in arcs flying over the water to hit the warships docked at the port as well as the soldiers housing, griffons run out confused and in shock as cannon fire continued to rip across the sky to hit their targets on land and sea. Ships being destroyed and griffons being thrown from their barracks in explosive force, it was utter chaos.

The Equestrian armada continued this assault to the last ship, in total there was 400 ships in the equestrian armada, the amount of firepower has completely annihilated the Griffon naval port. There was about 1,000 total griffon warships, and 70,000+ griffon troops were stationed there. Now only 430 warships remain, and 25,000 griffon troops fit for service.

At Canterlot

"If that savage king thinks he can get away with an ambush that has been planned today, I don't want to hear anything else. He has made it clear he wants war with our kingdom and subjects." Celestia says angrily as Luna and Chris were at the royal court alone, Luna knew it was upsetting her sister deeply, Chris wasn't surprised. It was close to dinner and the kitchen staff was busy preparing food for the sisters and their lord. Chris in the meantime was looking through his phone, something he hasn't done for a few years now, scrolling through his photos he sees pictures of his family, his mother, father, sister, little brother and his two dogs.

He starts to tear up and cry softly, he missed his family so much and wished he can see them again, but he knew that he has an obligation to his princess of the night. Luna opened the door to his chambers as she was guessing thats where he would be at, she sees Chris crying as he was holding his device.

"Everything ok my love?" She asks softly as he wipes the tears from his eyes.

"I'm... fine Luna." He says with a fake reassuring tone, Luna knew better though.

"Do you miss your family?" She asks, seeing a picture of her mate with his family on his phone. He nods as he takes a deep breath and tries to stop crying.

"Come down and have dinner, i'll make it up to you later. Does that sound good my love?" She kisses him gently as he smiles and nuzzles her.

"You always know how to make me feel better Luna." He says as Luna smiles back at him.

She turns and leaves the room as Chris sets his phone down, he gets up and walks to the door but stops as he feels a disturbing presence in the room. He looks around then stops at a dark mass, a shadow in a corner where the light doesn't touch. He hears a growl that makes his hair stand up at the back of his neck. He sees a mouth form with white sharp fangs, and eyes with slits like a cat. He knows who they belong too, but before he can say anything the shadow mass cackles and rushes forward blitzing Chris and knocking him over as he hits the open door and injures his right elbow as it hits a table edge.

"AAAAH!!! Fuck fucking shit that hurts!" He hisses in pain, he looks to see the room is back to normal, Nightmare Moon was gone. Still terrified he ran as quickly as he could out of the room and down the hallway to be in the light of Celestia and the warm company of his beloved Princess Luna.
