Act III, Blood Red Night Part 2: Never Surrender

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

-William Ernest Henley; Invictus

Alex stood with his friends inside the now-destroyed Iliad after the ill-fated drop into Kalos Prime. He just got his weapons, ready to fight and likely die in this battle, the Blood Red Night.

"Okay, I think the vote's practically unanimous here. But before we do anything, we can't go out blind, someone look for a window or something so we can actually see what the hell is happening outside." Alex ordered, searching for a window.

The whole remaining 45,000 or so people got to searching for a window.

"Sir, you might want a look at this.." One of them said, standing near a somehow still intact computer drive.

"What about it?" Alex wondered.

"Something on there's trying to communicate with us! Those blinks are morse code!" The soldier replied.

"You know it? Got a pen and some paper or something?" He asked.

"Yes, sir." He said.

"Well don't just sit there with your thumb up your ass! I'd say we have another eight minutes before they blow the rest of us to kingdom come!" Alex commanded.

"Y-Yes, sir!" He grabbed his pencil and the back of an MRE box he was carrying and started writing.

"Anyone find out what the hell is happening outside?!" Alex demanded.

"I found one in the hall! Gaping hole to the outside!" Another soldier replied.

Alex ran over to the hallway, slowing down to a tip-toe to look outside.

Sure enough, they were surrounded, hundreds of soldiers outside, hundreds of tank barrels and artillery pointed at the ship, with...

Of course.

With Sigma standing guard.

Alex ran back inside, grabbing a loose piece of hull.

He drew out the ship in a destroyed part of the hull, which had some dust exposed.

He eventually drew out where he remembered seeing Red Star, adding a giant 'S' for the Inquisitor standing guard outside.

"What's the plan? Anyone here a half-decent strategist?" Alex demanded.

"What, you, our Admiral, can't think of a plan?!" Nogla screamed, irritated.

Ruby ran over, checking out the situation.

"What's the giant 'S' stand for?" Ruby whispered.

"Sigma. The motherf**ker's standing outside right now." Alex replied.

"And those little circles? Is that our cover?" She asked.

"It's enemy artillery."

"And the dots?"

"Infantry."

Ruby thought for a moment before running over to the hallway, looking outside, and running back.

"Even if we manage to take out all of the infantry and artillery, the Orbital systems will still keep us in check, and there's probably a lot more reinforcements. Sorry, Alex." She sighed.

Alex kicked a destroyed computer in hopeless rage.

"Sir! Come over here!" The soldier at the computer alerted him.

Alex ran over, looking at him.

"Yes? What happened?" Alex asked.

"If I got this right, then this computer is saying that this is an A.I copy of Iris inside called 'Andromeda'. It says that the ship's main cannons are still active, but the automatic targeting systems have been destroyed in the second blast." The soldier repeated.

"Where's the manual controls, anyone?" Alex asked.

"Last I checked, Haytham was trying to stop the ship's cannons..." One other soldier recalled.

Alex grabbed his radio.

"Haytham, come in!" Alex commanded.

'Lex! Lex, is that you?' Haytham asked.

"I'm here. There's something I need you to do." Alex began.

'What?' He asked.

"Hold on, what is the current angle of the ship's cannons?" Alex asked.

A few moments passed.

"35, sir!" The soldier called.

"Where do they need to be to take out the Orbital Systems?" Alex demanded.

Another couple seconds passed.

"92 degrees."

Alex grabbed the radio again.

"Haytham, turn the ship's cannons to 92 degrees!" Alex commanded.

'Won't they be able to tell what we're going to do?'

"That's an order, Operator!" Alex said more urgently.

'Yes, sir!' Haytham announced.

Alex heard a loud metallic grinding sound. The cannons!

"Good work! Get Andromeda out of there and somewhere she can communicate with us without having to use outdated methods of communication!" Alex ordered.

Vanoss got a 2 TB flash drive and plugged it into the computer.

"In here, I'll get you to a speaker or something.." Vanoss said.

Vinyl pulled out a small speaker, pointing out the USB attachment on the side. Vanoss quickly plugged in the A.I.

"Andromeda, you there?" Alex asked.

"What's going on?" Ruby wondered.

"Hello, I am Andromeda, the A.I duplication of the late Iris." Andromeda said. She sounded more like the A.I Veil than like Zera.

"Andromeda, is there anything else you can tell us about the situation?" Alex asked.

"Satellite imagery from the Orbital systems indicates a Red Star fortress just beyond, but it is extremely heavily guarded, at least three million, as well as one million moving into a large castle a few miles away." Andromeda explained.

"You think we can take 'em?" Yang wondered.

"With burning hunks of metal falling from the sky as a distraction and weapon, I'm sure you may be able to take out the first wave." Andromeda replied.

"Any survivors from the other ships?" Alex asked.

"Yes, they're all scattered across the Island, I'll tell them to converge on the fortress in the estimated 20-40 minutes it will take to defeat them. Plug me into the ship-to-ship communicator." Andromeda said.

Delirious quickly grabbed the flash drive and plugged her into the comms.

'Your ten minutes are up! Have you come to a decision yet?' Alpha demanded.

"Haytham, give them our answer." Alex ordered.

'You got it, Admiral!' Haytham announced.

"Everyone, Ready up!!" Alex commanded.

He suddenly heard a loud boom, with a resounding crackle as the shot ascended into the sky.

'D-Direct hit! The Iliad has a direct hit on the Inquisitor's Orbital Strike Weapons!' Haytham cheered.

"Direct hit! The OSWs are coming down!" Alex announced.

Everyone cheered, grabbing their weapons and raising them high.

They soon heard what sounded like metal slamming against the ground, accompanied by screams of pain and surprise.

"Attack!" Alex commanded, slamming into the wall and destroying it, firing his weapon indiscriminately at the throng of enemy soldiers before converting one of his revolvers into swords, hacking through the crowd.

He dodged an artillery shell, leaping over it and landing on another enemy soldier, stabbing him at the top of the head before leaping off his shoulders and flinging the corpse at the tank.

"Yang, back me up!" Alex commanded.

As soon as he landed on the ground, a multitude of blasts eventually collided with the tank, blowing it up. Alex fired his revolver at more soldiers as his men continued tearing apart their enemies, more rubble falling onto the ground.

Out of the corner of his eye, Alex spotted Rainbow Dash and Applejack fighting Sigma. Even this Inquisitor was having trouble keeping up with them.

Sigma pulled out both of her swords, leaping into the air and hacking Rainbow's wing, then kicking Applejack in the center of the spine.

"Pony, no!" Ruby gasped, firing her sniper at the assailant who merely blocked the bullets with her bare hands.

Alex ran up while Sigma was still distracted, kicking her in the center of the chest, sending her skidding backwards to a halt before she put her blades together, forming a bow.

Before Alex had time to react, she fired an arrow at his armored chest, which exploded on impact.

Alex screamed in pain, rolling onto his chest and seeing Ruby fight Sigma, somehow keeping up with this dangerous opponent.

As Alex struggled to pick himself up, he was grabbed by the back of his armor and shoved into a burning pile of scrap, getting the crap punched out of him by...

"Scarecrow?! How are you still alive?!" Vanoss gaped, firing a shotgun at his chest point blank.

The lead pellets bounced off his armor and some went directly into his wounds, he gasped in pain before staggering all the way up.

Scarecrow pulled out a massive machete and attacked the owl-masked Youtuber, who had his own machete blocking the attack.

"Back me up, guys!" Vanoss demanded.

Delirious smacked an enemy soldier in the side of the neck before shooting him.

"We're busy, you little bird bitch!" He yelled back.

Alex pulled himself up, attacking Scarecrow while he was caught off guard, punching him in the center of the gas mask he was wearing.

Vanoss smirked at him, stabbing Scarecrow clean in the chest, it wasn't fatal, and Scarecrow attacked Vanoss, striking him in the arm.

As for Alex, he was hit pretty bad, bleeding profusely from his wound. This thing needed cleaning now.

Wait, who had a decent amount of experience in the medical field..?

"DIE, YOU UNCOUTH RUFFIANS!! DI- oh, hello Alex darling!" Rarity waved.

"Rarity, this isn't the time for..." Alex finally realized.

Rarity was a fashion designer, which meant she knew how to sew, and Alex had an open wound which could probably get infected...

"Rarity, can I ask you a quick favor?!" Alex asked.

"Yes?" She asked, grabbing a Red Star trooper with her magic and flinging him at another group.

"I got an open wound, you know how to close up tears in fabric, let's make a deal.." Alex figured.

"Er...I don't know about flesh and blood though, darling... Ask Fluttershy." She backed away in fear.

"Oh, come on! It's not like you haven't seen any of this before!! Besides, Fluttershy's afraid of her own shadow, she's sure as hell afraid of blood and- oh, dear God, there's pus." Alex felt his eye twitch.

"Yeah, that isn't exactly my field of work, darling.."

"OH, FOR F**K SAKES!!" Alex grabbed Vinyl's canteen, which definitely contained some kind of alcohol, and poured it on the wound. He screamed in agony before grabbing a needle and some string he stole from Rarity's saddlebag..

"Hey! I may be the Element of Generosity, but it's not okay to steal!" She scolded.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?! I HAVE A F**KING HOLE IN MY SIDE AND WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A WAR ZONE!!" Alex yelled back as he shoved the needle into his own flesh.

"Okay, Alex.. Remember what you learned in Art Class; over and under- OH, F**K THAT HURTS!"

He hurriedly finished his work, tossing the needle away and wiping away excess fluid.

"Okay, that was f**king disgusting.. But it's over now.. Thank god." Alex huffed, the wound still stinging.

Pain! God! Alex felt hot lead pierce his shoulder, he'd been shot again!

"Dammit! Not again!" Alex grasped his shoulder in pain, he'd have to do this all over again-

Oh, right. The healing aura.

He manipulated his Aura to his injured shoulder and the wound in his side, he pulled out the bullet in his shoulder first before letting it take full effect, once he did, he was in half-decent condition, but still felt some pain.

Alex picked a minigun up off the ground, firing it in the direction the bullet likely came from, resulting in more than a few soldiers falling out of the trees in the forest just beyond.

"Ratte! Ratte!" Another soldier called before being blown apart.

A P.1000?! Here?!

Only the f**king inquisitors.

"Concentrate as much fire as you can on that tank!" Alex ordered.

"Grenade! Move!" A soldier called out.

Weiss ran to their aide, freezing the ground near it and eventually encasing it in ice before it exploded, sending shards of frozen liquid throughout the battlefield. She turned around, stabbing a Red Star soldier in the chest.

Another soldier behind her aimed his rifle, but could do nothing as Rarity sent needle upon needle flying at him.

"AAAH! MY EYES!!" He screamed as he fell over.

Rarity cringed, winking at the heiress.

"THERE'S SO MUCH SHIT GOING ON!!! KILL THE TANK!!!" Wildcat screamed.

"GWEEEEEEEEY!!!!" Nogla screamed as he fired a machine gun.

"AAAAH!! MY HEALTH IS SO LOW!!!" Delirious screamed before he was blown away by a rocket.

"NO! DELIRIOUS!!" Lui screamed.

"Someone, hit that tank!" Alex screamed as he tried fruitlessly to fend off his enemies. Even dual wielding his Electric Fury and the Serengeti wasn't enough to stop them from pouring everywhere.

Alex heard a metallic ringing, as if someone was attacking him.

He turned around to find Sigma swinging her sword at his wounded side.

Alex barely managed to block the attack with the barrel of his revolver, he kicked her in the chest before Ruby leaped high in the air, swinging Crescent Rose at Sigma's back.

Sigma gasped in pain and surprise as she turned to find the young girl beside Alex.

"This isn't your fight, child. Walker's my target." Sigma threatened.

"I'm as old as he is! What makes me any different?!" Ruby defended.

"You don't have a price on your head. Back away from the boy." She ordered again.

Ruby turned to him.

"Mind if I fight her?" She asked.

Alex put the Serengeti against his back, pulling out Blitzklinge and pointing both revolvers at his enemy.

"As long as I can get a couple shots in myself." Alex smirked.

Both Huntress and Super-Soldier alike attacked the Inquisitor, Ruby's attacks fast and meticulous and Alex's vicious and lethal.

Vanoss was still busy dealing with Scarecrow, along with having to shoot at other enemies, on account of their sheer numbers, his friends did what they could to help, but were heavily occupied.

Team RWBY were scattered across the battlefield, doing what they could to survive.

The Elements' numbers were dropping fast, Applejack and Rainbow Dash were already wounded, with Twilight, Pinkie, and Rarity still fighting, and Fluttershy trying to avoid the chaos.

Everyone was fighting, but many were dying, and many more had already lost their lives..

Alpha stood at his castle, looking at a holographic view of the battle at the destroyed Iliad. He was severely angered that their All-Star group managed to survive, and even more so that they were actually doing some damage to his forces.

"Beta!" Alpha demanded.

Beta immediately ran to his master's quarters.

"Yes, sir?" He asked.

"Have Sigma's pets entered a battle yet?" He asked.

"Sir, Neo survived the Iliad crash, and Upsilon and Tau have arrived at the Revelation." Beta reported.

"What of the other crafts?" Alpha demanded.

"I've dispatched several dozen units to the wreckages, including our Ratte at the Iliad. So far, the Covenant is our only victory thus far." Beta answered.

"How much of our defenses are at the Tranquility Complex?" Alpha asked, referring to the base.

"75% of our defenses are at the Complex. The other 25% are here." Beta replied.

"Sigma is having trouble. Go to the Iliad. Keep those pests from getting out!" Alpha ordered.

"Yes, sir." Beta unsheathed his sword and charged off.

Alpha smiled, watching the carnage unfold at the ship now.

"Alexander, you've made a grave mistake."

Delirious eventually respawned for what felt like the ninetieth time, but he was directly behind the super tank.

He clasped his hands together, snickering deviously.

He grabbed the tank's backside and hoisted himself into an exhaust vent, it was just small enough for him to wriggle inside of it. By the time he was inside, the operators didn't suspect a thing.

He pulled out a hatchet and a sawed-off shotgun, sneaking behind the rear-most tank operator and splitting the man's skull open before lighting up the room, they barely had any time to react before the tank was in a practical standstill.

He cracked his knuckles and made his way over to one of the seats, finding not the controls for the tank, but their weapons systems.

He was admittedly going to just stick a few bombs inside and blow it up, but this seemed a bit more fun.

He eventually gained control of the main cannons, turning them towards an innumerable amount of Red Star soldiers, walked over to the guns, hoisted MASSIVE artillery shells into the double barrel cannons on top of this thing, and loaded them up.

He ran back to the firing mechanism, zeroing in on the large amount of enemy troops, and with a sinister grin spread across his face, he grabbed his cellphone.

At least one person would want to hear what he had to say...

Alex leaped over Sigma again to avoid being struck by Crescent Rose for, like, the thirtieth time in five minutes.

"Can you f**king watch where you swing that thing?!" Alex yelled in annoyance.

"That's what she said!" Ruby and Sigma both called at the exact same moment.

Alex felt a vein in his forehead burst.

"You okay?" Ruby asked.

"I'm fine.. Just.. Just an aneurysm out of sheer stupidity."

"Wow. Didn't think you were that stupid." Sigma glared.

Alex screamed in rage and irritation, batting Ruby out of the way and practically whaling at Sigma like a punching bag.

"You remember what I did to Omega?! Guess what'll happen to you!!" Alex yelled out, more angry than hurt.

"Jump off your own ass and DIE!!" Sigma nicked him in the side, but it still didn't exactly stop him.

Alex kicked her hard in the gut, lightning practically spewing out of his boot as Sigma was blown backwards into a tree.

KA-POW!!!

Alex turned to his right, discovering that the P.1000 Ratte the Inquisitors had been using had just blown up whole unit of it's own soldiers.

"What the?!" Sigma gasped.

"Wait.. Where's Delirious?!" Ruby realized.

Vanoss slammed Scarecrow into a tree, pulling out a switchblade and attempting to stab him, only to have the attack blocked by Scarecrow's armored gauntlet.

Scarecrow kicked Vanoss hard in the chest, he hit another pile of scrap and fell onto his back.

As Scarecrow approached him with a ridiculously large dagger, Vanoss kicked him in the crotch, slit one of the air tubes on the mask, and kicked him again, this time, knocking him completely over.

"Get f**king owned!" Vanoss laughed.

Scarecrow choked, gasping and coughing.

"You bastard! That little stunt on the carrier compromised my lungs!!!" Scarecrow gagged.

"Your fault for being a bitch." Vanoss shrugged.

"You... You will pay with your life.... Face the might of the Red Star!!" Scarecrow yelled as a massive tank rolled in...

And then stopped.

"The hell?" Vanoss wondered..

Vanoss then heard felt a cellphone buzz in his right pocket, pulling it out, he found that Delirious was calling him.

"Hello?" He asked.

'What's up guys? I'm H2O Delirious, and this is Jackass!'

Both barrels of the mega-tank obliterated a crowd of incoming Red Star soldiers, within seconds, they were nothing more than a smoking, gory mess in the center of the battlefield.

"HOLY SHIT!" Vanoss gasped.

"No.. No..! NO!!!" Scarecrow punched the ground in terror and rage.

Vanoss picked up a heavy revolver lying on the ground, loading one round before snapping the cylinder closed and pointing it at Scarecrow's head.

"Y'know, there's a saying we hockey players pass around. I think I said it in one or two of my videos at one time or another.." Vanoss chuckled.

"Whatever asinine punch-line you have, get it out of the way!" Scarecrow spat.

"Keep 'er goin'!"

A large sword knocked the gun out of his hand, slashed his leg clean off, and stabbed him in the other leg.

"Very poor choice of words." A dark, mechanical voice mocked.

"B-Beta, sir.. The Canadian compromised my respiratory gear..." Scarecrow coughed.

Vanoss could only watch as Beta lit Scarecrow's body aflame.

His foe screamed in agony, flailing around before finally going still.

"If he could not defeat a mere civilian, then he would not be able to handle the title of Inquisitor. As for you," Beta scowled, pointing the blade at Vanoss's head, "I'm well aware of your little 'immortality' game, and I could not care any less." Beta swung the blade upwards, and...

Long story short, Vanoss respawned three feet away from his death point, looking sheepishly at his own killer.

"God, the spawns on this map suck ass!" The Owl groaned before running away, firing back at the brutish Inquisitor as he did.

Twilight impaled a Red Star Lieutenant into a tree, the battle had long since moved into the forest. She had Pinkie shooting people with her party cannon, but Fluttershy was backed into another tree, trying to soothe a squirrel.

"Not so fast, Miss Sparkle!" A familiar voice called from the distance.

She saw Pinkie get immediately covered by a yellow glow.

"Gamma!" She realized.

"Yes. Order your men to surrender, Princess. It is the only thing that can possibly save your friends." Gamma threatened.

"You monster, you're threatening another pony's life, for what?" Fluttershy scolded.

"I am the monster? Says the yellow rat- I mean horse- with wings." Gamma spat.

"Don't hurt Pinkie Pie, she didn't do anything to you!" Twilight pleaded.

"No. She is not entirely blameless here. Neither are you. Stop all of this now and we'll only kill the boy."

"You won't stop with Alex! You haven't stopped before!" Twilight retorted.

"I am only following orders." Gamma grinned menacingly as he raised her high in the air.

"Pinkie!"

Gamma flung her cross the skies. The average Earth Pony was durable, yes, but not enough to survive such a fall.

"You... You MONSTER!" Fluttershy yelled, flying into Gamma and slamming him into a tree.

"Fluttershy!" Twilight tried to stop her with her magic, but she only had Fluttershy's bottom half, while Gamma had the top.

"Let her go!" Twilight struggled.

"I am not letting go of this little nothing! If you pull, she'll be ripped in two like a wishbone. Let go of her. Now!" Gamma ordered.

"Never! I'm not abandoning my friends!" Twilight pulled.

"You are a true fool." Gamma scowled.

Twilight was conflicted. She didn't want her friend to die, but she didn't want to kill her by accident either!

Frustrated, she let go. And shockingly, Gamma released her.

"I will not kill either of you... Intentionally!" Gamma grabbed the two of them and flung them against the Iliad. Twilight and Fluttershy fell to the ground. Both ponies were battered and beaten, but otherwise unharmed.

"Thank Celestia that at least one of my friends are still alive." Twilight thought as she pulled herself up, immediately having to fight again.

Yang punched a Red Star soldier directly in the face, grabbing him by the shirt and blowing him into another group and sending blast after blast in their general direction.

As she fired the last couple rounds, she unloaded her weapon, shells flying everywhere, and quickly reloaded.

Once she finished, she saw the short ice-cream girl who nearly killed her on that train underneath Vale.

She grinned menacingly in her direction, flourishing her umbrella.

Yang smirked. She wouldn't make the same mistakes twice!

She fired her gauntlets downward, ground-pounding the small clearing just behind her and punching her in the face- oh, wait, she blocked it.

"You know what happened to the last person I actually fought?" She asked, referring to that oh so unfortunate little incident at that one bar.

Ice-cream lady evaded her punches before spinning behind her, knocking her over with the umbrella and raising it high.

She punched again, only meeting the umbrella again as she flipped behind her again.

Yang spun around, this was her chance!

She leaped straight upwards, ground pounding again only to find the girl had shattered.

Yang saw her again sliding past Ruby and Sigma.

Oh, this could be bad.

She fired one shot at her leg, only to find a familiar voice scream in pain.

"GOD DAMMIT!!" Alex screamed, grabbing the afflicted limb.

"What the hell?" Yang pondered.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K WAS THAT FOR?!" He yelled.

"I thought you were someone else!" She called back.

"I'M WEARING IRON MAN ARMOR AND I HAVE AN EYE SCAR THE SIZE OF A NAIL! I MUST LOOK LIKE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE!!" He screamed back.

She felt her leg sting with pain again, she fell to one knee and rubbed one finger against her wounded leg, where a neat trail of blood left it's mark.

She punched the Mary Poppins cosplayer, still only managing to hit the umbrella, and sent her skidding backwards.

"It'll take a lot more than this to get me mad!" Yang smirked, flicking the red off her hand.

The girl smirked, leaping over her and pulling a small blade out from underneath the umbrella, she evaded the attacks and punched her again, and the girl only stood there, menacingly.

"Wow, you really need work on your bladework-" Yang suddenly noticed a substantial amount of her hair drift like golden string to the frozen earth, immediately feeling blood rush to her head.

"Alright... THAT'S IT!!!" Yang's eyes quickly turned from their usual lilac purple color to a piercing blood red as the space around her erupted into brilliant golden flame.

The girl looked a bit less confident, grabbing her umbrella again and swinging it, fully extended, at her rival.

Yang ducked, evading the attack and hitting her square in the shoulder. The attack alone made her drop the umbrella to clutch her arm in pain, from there, the attacks were relentless. Blow after blow, the girl's aura depleted fast. Until eventually she passed out from the sheer exhaustion and pain.

Yang stood victorious over her foe, kicking her in the gut in a final bout of rage.

"Serves you right..." Yang smirked.

A couple soldiers noticed her victory, running over and grabbing an arm and a leg.

"What do you want us to do with this one?" One of the soldiers asked.

Yang cocked Ember Celica again, she should kill her for what she did... She remembered someone her height being locked up in the Iliad during Omicron's attempted breakout. That much, she knew. Plus, Yang was pretty sure the girl made her shoot Alex in the leg. He'd probably agree.

But then again, Alex literally killed his own brother. Sure, Omega killed her step-mother in cold blood out of hatred for Alex's father. But even so, if Ruby did something similar, even Yang wouldn't bring herself to kill her own flesh and blood. Even if Alex was her apprentice and very close friend, ruthless murder was something that just wouldn't sit right with her.

"Lock her up." She ordered.

"Yes, Huntress!" The soldiers saluted.

Yang then heard more rumbling from what sounded like tank engines.

"Reinforcements! There's more coming!"

Yang heard Jaune screaming from across the field, carrying a wounded Nora Valkyrie. She didn't see Pyrrha or Ren anywhere. They must have either been somewhere else, or actually... No way.

"Fall back! Fall back!" Vanoss yelled, running out of the forest.

The remaining coalition forces fell back around the ship. Thankfully, she still was able to see Alex and Ruby had made it, Weiss and Blake as well. Unfortunately, only Twilight and Rarity ran back with them. In the distance, she saw Rainbow Dash writhe in pain as she clutched a dismembered wing, Applejack and Pinkie Pie laid collapsed on the ground.

She looked and saw what carnage they had committed. Broken corpses of both Coalition and Red Star laid dead and dying in the battlefield. A light snow fluttered to the frozen earth below, almost burying them.

She saw another large mega-tank, different from the Earth models she had seen before, stop directly in front of them. What was once 45,000 had been reduced to a couple hundred in a matter of minutes. At the top of the tank were the Inquisitors Beta and Sigma.

"Soldiers of the Equestrian-Remnant Coalition! What was this all for?! Killing and dying in vain like some sick cult?! Is a peaceful rule not what you truly desire?! Is the future of your worlds not worth a single worthless life?!" Beta asked of them.

"Worthless?! You're trying to kill a couple of kids! You've tried manipulating us for 4 months now!" Kat yelled defiantly.

Numerous soldiers yelled their approval.

"And it isn't just a couple kids in way over their heads! You've hurt all of us with your treacherous acts!" Locust added.

"We would have been in the Vytal Festival tournament if not for you!" Jaune angrily screamed.

"You tried to kill us all more than once! Including multiple counts of attempted use of a biological weapon!" Another soldier yelled.

"You turned a happy and peaceful environment into a war-torn deserted wasteland for no reason other than to fulfill your sick power plays!" Twilight flicked the blood off one of her wings.

"I did absolutely nothing to any of you back in August! Yet you arrested me for no reason and insisted on continually harassing me and my friends! Not only that, but Earth is in tatters by now!" Alex yelled out.

Sigma scoffed, voicing her decision to Beta.

"There is no helping them. They made their choice." Sigma told her superior.

"I agree. Ready!" Beta called.

All Yang could hear were the sounds of her own breathing, and the loading and chamfering of numerous rifles and cannons.

"Aim!"

She moved in front of her sister and her apprentice.

"Stay behind me!" She ordered.

"Like hell I am!" Alex moved beside her, but not beside her, as to avoid any awkwardness himself

"Well, never thought I'd go out like this." Yang thought to herself.

"Well, we had a good run. Vodka, anyone?" Vinyl reached in her saddlebag to find a canteen, tipping it over to find only a few meager drops fall out of it.

"What?! I had an open wound and needed a disinfectant!" Alex defended.

"Alex, you dork." Ruby sniffled.

"Fire!"
