Why her?
Discord and I were having one of our tea parties when I noticed how squirmy Discord looked.
"Is everything alright Discord?" I asked. He looked at me happily, although he didn't seem so cheerful.
"I have some...news." Discord said as he quickly drank his Tuesday tea. I gave him a puzzled look.
"What is it Discord?" I asked. Discord blushed slightly and continued.
"Well this is kind of embarrassing..." Discord stuttered. I tried to look calm, but I was so eager. I hoped that he was going to tell me something that I've always wanted him to say.
"Actually Discord, I have something to tell you too." I said and he looked up at me confused.
"Oh really?" He asked and I nodded my head happily. This was the perfect time to tell him. Discord got an amused look on his face.
"Do tell dearest Fluttershy." He said teasingly. Suddenly, something didn't feel right. I felt like there was something different he wanted to tell me.
"Oh, well you should go first. You wanted to tell me so badly." My attempt failed because he shook his head.
"There's something you're not telling me, come on. Or do you not trust me anymore?" Discord said and made a pouty face. My eyes widened at him, how could he even joke about that?
"Come on Discord, just tell me what you wanted to tell me. Then I Pinkie Pie Promise to tell you what I wanted to tell you." I said and he gave me a defeated look.
"All right. Well I proposed to Princess Sun Butt, and she said yes." He said excitedly. I felt my heart break. That wasn't what I was expecting at all, I thought he liked me. I knew I had to be supportive. Something just wasn't right here. He was acting excited, but he looked a little...sad, disappointed even. I put on a fake smile and tried to act happy.
"Oh, that's wonderful Discord. I had no idea that you liked Celestia." I said. His smile faltered for a moment, but then he quickly regained it.
"Yes, well she told me that she had always liked me. That's why she had you reform me. That and the whole Tirek incident." He said, and I felt a tear roll down my face. Now I understand why Celestia wanted this. She just did this for herself, well and the incident. I looked up and saw him looking at me worried.
"Are you alright?" He asked. That's when I realized that I was on the verge of crying and a few tears slithered down my cheeks. I stifled my tears, nodded and smiled.
"Oh, yes I'm fine." He frowned as I said this. He didn't buy my act for one minute. I tried to smile, but failed and ended up just staring at the ground.
"You said that you wanted to tell me something? What is it?" He asked gently. I hid behind my mane and tried to stop the tears from falling from my face. I had Pinkie Pie promised to tell him, he knew I wouldn't break it so quickly. Suddenly, I felt a paw under my chin. He lifted my face so that I was forced to look at him.
"I-It doesn't m-matter anymore." I mumbled, but he wasn't going to let it go that easily.
"Please tell me." He asked sincerely. That's why I loved him, he can be so caring. He actually cares about my feelings. He is especially kind to me. I always thought he was so nice to me because he liked me more than a friend, but I suppose I was wrong. I can't believe I even considered that he is over one thousand years old, and I'm not even immortal. Celestia is, and he loves her. So I needed to be supportive and make him happy. He'll never forgive me if I'm not.
"I'm fine." I said, but he was still staring me down. I needed to prove that I was fine.
"I just wanted to tell you that I have to go, to buy Angel some carrots. You know how picky he can be." I said, it wasn't a complete lie. Angel could be picky, and he did need some carrots for dinner.
"If you're sure." He said. He knew I was lying. I knew it, but he didn't want to force me to say anything.
"So, when is the wedding?" I asked and tried to act happy.
"Well, I went to Pinkie Pie to organize the party, and she said that she can have everything ready by next Tuesday." He said. I felt my heart break for what seemed like the third time that day. We always had our get together on Tuesdays.
"Oh, well is there anything I can do to help?" I asked. I had to make sure everything was perfect, even if it tore my heart into pieces. He just shook his head.
"Just being there will make everything perfect." He said and I blushed slightly. He was so sweet, I didn't deserve him. Princess Celestia would live a lot longer than I would, so would Discord. I could never be enough for him. Even if we weren't 'together', I would still be happy just to be his friend.
"Well, I must be going." Discord said and stood up. I was a little sad to see him go.
"Oh, ok. Bye Discord." I said.
Well, I still had to get those carrots. I just couldn't believe how sudden this was. It wasn't like Discord to just do these sorts of things. It just didn't make sense.
Author's Note
Of course. When I say that the chapter will be out soon, I mean life will inconvenience the heck out of me and I won't upload it until now. I am trying out my phone and I hope this turned out well. I know that it has been forever, and I want to apologize for that, moving and the internet not working really messed everything up.
Why not?
It was the day that I've been dreading, Tuesday. Normally I would be waiting for Discord to arrive, but today is his wedding. Although I don't want to go, I know that he will be disappointed if I don't show up. Everypony else will be there, and if having Discord wondering where I wasn't enough, having my friends and the princesses be there will. I had to keep everything together, Twilight would be here any minute to pick me up.
"Fluttershy, are you in there?" Twilight asked outside the door. I needed to be there for him. This had to happen. So I put on a smile and opened the front door to see Twilight, who was already dressed for the ceremony. She was wearing what looked like her gala dress, but her mane was put into a braid on the side. She wore a golden crown, similar to her element of harmony. Or what it used look like before we put our elements in the tree of harmony.
"Oh, hello Twilight. You look lovely." I said and she smiled. My dress really wasn't anything special. It was just the same bridesmaid dress I wore to Princess Cadence's wedding, a dark pink skirt with light blue flowers on it.
"Thank you, you look nice as well. I still can't believe that Princess Celestia is letting me be the priest! I assumed that she would choose Cadence or Luna, but she said that it would be an honor for me to be the priest." She said excitedly. I just nodded as we walked to the chariot. Although Twilight could fly to Canterlot, she told me that she preferred the ride more. Once we arrived at Canterlot, I saw Princess Celestia and the rest of my friends
"Hello Fluttershy, I would like to welcome to once again to Canterlot." Celestia said as we descended. As soon as we landed I ran over and bowed.
"Thank you Princess Celestia, I would also like to say congratulations on your marriage." At the thought of the wedding, my eyes started to water. I just swallowed them down and looked up to see the princess beaming.
"Thank you Fluttershy. As you can see, your friends have already arrived." When she said that, Rainbow Dash came and gave me a giant hug.
"I thought you'd never get here." Rainbow said.
"Well, Twilight and I wanted to ride together. Plus, I couldn't fly all the way here like you can." I said. Then, I was attacked by a pink blob.
"Oh hello Pinkie Pie." I giggled, Pinkie Pie was known to make an entrance.
"Hi Fluttershy. Discord was just asking about you." Pinkie said and my eyes widened.
"H-He was?" I asked. I couldn't believe it, in all the excitement, Discord was wondering about me.
"Yeah. He said something about you being upset, and wondering when you were gonna be here." Pinkie said.
"O-Oh." Was all I could manage. I honestly didn't know what to think.
"Now, why don't the rest of you finish getting ready. The ceromony will be starting soon. A chorus of agreements filled the air as we went inside the castle.
"I simply can not believe that the Princess is letting us stay here!" Rarity squealed as we walked down the entrance.
"I reckon it's because we've become closer to her and Discord." Applejack replied. Yeah, we really have become very close to Discord since the Tirek incident.
"I still don't trust Discord. At least I know that if any pony can handle him, it's the Princess." Rainbow Dash added.
"Do you guys think that Smoozy will be here this time?" Pinkie Pie asked excitedly.
"Why do you ask? All he did at the Gala was cause trouble." Twilight said.
"Well, Maud is coming and," Pinkie looked all around, as if to make sure that no one but us was listening.
"she reallyreally wants to talk to him. If you know what I mean." Pinkie said. Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and I all giggled. Twilight shook her head.
"Sorry Pinkie, but different species are too different. Celestia herself said that a pony should be with a pony. That's why I'm confused about her marriage. She's never shown any interest in Discord before now. I suppose all that really matters is that she's happy." Twilight said.
"I agree Twilight, a pony shouldn't be with a dragon, griffon or draconequus." Rarity added.
"Yeah Pinks, I don't think it'll work." Rainbow stated.
"Why not?" I asked everyponys eyes were on me.
"What do ya mean sugar cube?" Applejack asked me.
"Why can't a pony be with a draconequus? I mean, sure their species are different, but as long as they love each other, does it matter?" I said.
"Have you ever seen a cat and dog be together? Or a bird and a lizard?" Twilight asked. I shook my head.
"There's your answer." She stated.
As we all went into our rooms, I thought about what Twilight said.
Great, another reminder of why Discord couldn't be with me.
Author's Note
After publishing the last chapter, I had a plan for the rest of the story. However, when it came to writing this chapter, my mind did a flip. I was having a hard time focusing on the original idea for why Discord and Celestia got together despite it being against Celestia's will. Then, this happened.

We're getting married?
***Discord's POV***a suit?! "
"Please Discord. I'm just doing what Celestia asks. Besides, it's not that bad. Shining Armor didn't complain about his suit." Princess Cadence said.
"Well, what your wearing isn't any better." I said matter of factly. All she had on was a dress that seemed similar to what Fluttershy described was her own wedding dress. But instead of yellow and white, it was purple and white. It also didn't seem quite as poofy as Fluttershy said. Her hair was the same old style she always had it in.
"Don't you want Celestia to be happy?" She asked and raised an eyebrow.
"I suppose." I sighed. This was ridiculous, why does this wedding even matter? It's bad enough that I had to lie to Fluttershy about the reason for the wedding, now I have to dress up?
"Then will you please stop complaining and put on the suit?" She asked. Well, it was worth a try anyway. I took the suit and tried to remember the reason that I'm doing this in the first place.
***Flashback***
"Do you know why I called you here?" Celestia asked me. I rolled my eyes.
"No, and right now I don't really care. Did you honestly have to drag me all the way to Canterlot?" I asked
"Yes Discord, I have something very important to discuss with you." She said in a monotonous tone.
"Then pray tell, what is so important that I must be here." I said.
"You are the last draconequus that we know of Discord. Am I correct?" She asked and my eyes widened. We hadn't ever spoke of this bedore.
"Well, yes. What does this have to do with anything?" I asked. She sighed and continued.
"Although we are immortal, we can't live forever. Just much longer than anypony else. When you...pass, there will be no more of your kind. While most ponies will see this as a good thing, considering your chaotic ways, I don't. As you recall, I said that I could use your magic for good. You helped defeat Tirek, in a way, and I know that there will be times where we will need you again."
"Where are you going with this?" I asked.
"We need to...repopulate the draconequus species." She said and shuttered.
"What?"
"I know it's a lot to ask and a bit strange, but this needs to happen. For the good of Equestria." She said.
"You're hilarious Celestia! When Pinkie Pie said that you were a troll, I didn't believe her! Good one, now if you'll excuse me I'll be go-" I started to say.
"I'm serious Discord." She said. By the look in her eyes, I knew she wasn't joking.
"S-So what your saying is..." I said, to worried to carry on.
"We're getting married." She said.
"But why?" I asked.
"We need to make it more natural, ponies will find it strange if your...offspring just start popping up everywhere." She stated.
"Okay, but out of all the creatures in Equestria, why you? I mean no offense, but I'm not interested." I said.
"Alright then, do you know anypony else who would willingly do this?" She asked. She had a point there, I didn't that in a thousand years that anybody besides her could or would ever do this. Even for Equestria.
"No, at least I don't think so." I said.
"Besides, I'm immortal too. All you have to do is show up at the wedding and leave the rest to me. We don't even have to invite the ponies of Ponyville if you wish." She said. I quickly shook my head. It wouldn't work, plus it wouldn't be fair to Fluttershy.
"So when is this so called wedding?" I asked.
"Next Tuesday."
Now we're here, Tuesday. Normally one of my favorite days. Besides the tacos, it was the day Fluttershy and I would have our weekly tea parties. In a very uncomfortable black suit.
"I see that you've gotten ready." I turned my head to see Princess Sun Butt walking towards me.
"Hello Celestia. Are you absolutly sure that this is the only way?" I asked desperately.
"Well, to be honest, it's not the only reason." She said nervously. I raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I didn't want you to get cold feet before now, and while I told you an honest reason for this. I didn't tell you the other reason." She said.
"Wait, there's another reason?!" I said. She nodded.
"I really do like you." She said. I started to laugh.
"Okay Celestia, I know that you said we had to pretend to tolerate each other, but this is priceless!" I laughed.
"I'm serious." She said.
"So you tricked me?!" I asked angrily.
"In a sense." She said.
"What about your dumb law? The whole 'pony with a pony' and 'dragon with a dragon' thing?" I asked.
"I'm thinking of changing that, I realized that it wasn't fair. Especially after I learned that Spike likes Rarity." She stated.
"That is still no excuse! What if I like someone else?" I said.
"Do you?" She asked. That made me think. I had friends, but honestly, I didn't think that any of them would ever love me. Except for-
"Excuse me Princess, but I wanted to tell you that you are needed in two minutes." Twilight came in and said.
"Thank you Twilight, I will be right there." Celestia told her gratefully. Twilight nodded and left.
"I must be going, but my question still stands. I want you to know that I am truly sorry for tricking you. I deserve for you to leave me." Celestia said as she walked out of the door.
A little bit after Sun Butt left, Twilight came back to get me. I walked with her to the stand as the ponies started coming in and filling the seats. All the elements of harmony were there as Celestia's bridesmaids. Then came Celestia, wearing almost the exact same dress Cadence wore on her wedding. Once she was next to me, Twilight started to talk, which was one the most boring parts of all. I looked over at Fluttershy, and she gave me a nervous glance. It was almost like she was waiting for something.
"If anypony objects to this union, please speak now or forever hold your peace." Twilight said. After a moment I sighed and Twilight opened to mouth to begin again.
"I object!" A quiet voice said.
