Our Town: Location unknown

"Did you bring the dragon?" Starlight Glimmer asked a brainwashed pony under her command. On the pony's back was a tied bag.

"Yes. He was alone, just as you predicted. However, I have a question. We already have one creature. Why get something else?" The mare asked.

"Because creatures raised in isolation don't respond as well as ones raised with others....and the specimen ate her sibling. Perhaps she felt that having another one of her species of the same gender would threaten her?" Starlight Glimmer said, "Perhaps Dragon DNA would give it extra strength as well....tell me, what DNA did we already put into it?"

"Tyrannosaurus Rex for the base, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus for the arms, Majungasaurus for the harder scales on the back, Gigantosaurus for size, cuttlefish for survival during accelerated growth, Tree frogs for fitting in missing DNA links, Snakes for heat sensing pits, Rugops, and Carnotaurus." The brainwashed mare said, looking over a list on a clipboard.

"Perhaps dragon DNA would be beneficial in other ways. Lava proof scales, even fire breathing!" Starlight Glimmer said excitedly as she opened up the bag and-using her magic-pulled out an unconscious purple and green dragon. Placing him in a gigantic tube with a glass-like substance covering it, she locked the entrance and ordered the ponies in the lab.

"Extract his DNA, and place it in the specimen." With that, Starlight glanced into a tube with a young white reptilian creature standing on two legs with red eyes snarling at her.

"The specimen has developed nicely." Starlight Glimmer said to her brainwashed scientists, "now it's time to inject the DNA into the dragon. Twilight was a FOOL to leave him out of her sight; even if he was in Ponyville!"

"How long has it been?" Spike wondered, growling out in a language more commonly found in wild animals. "I've been....changed..." He stared at the dark black claws on his hands and the rough scales covering him. He yawned, opening a fang-filled maw nearly 90 degrees-a change brought forth by the snake DNA.

"I'm hungry....I want to feed." The white creature said. Spike had remained pony-sized while the "specimen" had already grown to Discord's size (which was taller than Celestia) and was still growing.

The female was beautiful....in an intimidating, fearsome kind of way.

Multiple sharp teeth stood in her long maw, and gleaming red eyes blinked with a calculating gleam in it. She had long arms that,if needed, could let her walk on all fours, with opposable thumbs like Spike had with gleaming black claws. Her long, powerful legs had three-toed feet with gleaming black claws. Her white scales reflected the sunlight, and he had small horns above her eyes with sharp, needle-like scales going down the back of her neck. Needle-like scales went down her arms to her "elbows" and her back had armor-like triangular scales to her longer tail.

"As long as it isn't....pony again" Spike said, as he started to grow, "GROOAAAAAARRHHH" (I refuse to be a prisoner!)

With that, Spike reached his full size, mouth big enough to devour a pony in a single bite, feet big enough to trample one with a single stomp; his innermost claw on each foot adjusted so that it could be raised and swung...with a large sickle-like claw at the top of his toe....the claw similar to that of a Velociraptor.

He swung wildly, but the substance held. Letting out a disgusted huff, he shrunk to pony-size again.

"It seems the male specimen's dragon DNA allows him to control his size. He just grew to full size to try to break free before shrinking." A stallion said.

"Interesting..." Starlight said, "I've almost gotten the Elements of Harmony bearers into my trap...maybe these specimens can be.....incentive.....to join my message of equality. Move them to a corral."

The two creatures, full size now, chased another pony as she ran to an enclosure. Following her, Spike felt nothing but utter hatred. SHE was one of the one's responsible for his capture....SHE was one of the ones responsible for his alteration....She.....

Was prey.

And now, he was corralling the prey towards the female.

Lunging forward, the white female chomped down upon the pony and shook, teeth piercing and snapping bones. Swallowing her kill, the other creature stared at the purple-scaled male.

"You're strong." The female said, blood dripping from her teeth, "With you...our species could survive. Powerful young." With a toothy grin, she roared out loud, with Spike roaring along with her.

Wherever this corral was, it was now their territory.

As for the Indominus, Her nostrils flared as she took in the scent of her new surroundings.

Spike, while still his normal coloration, now resembled her almost exactly except for his green eyes and raptor-like claws. Twitching their muscles, they adjusted her chromataphores to change their color to match their surroundings.

"We were given the species name of Indominus Rex...meaning Fierce King." Spike growled out. "However, Indominus can also mean untamable."

"And what of our species name?" The Indominus growled curiously.

"We were given the name untamable....and yet they think they can control us." Spike said, "There are some ponies that I would gladly fight for...my friends....however, these aren't my friends. Want to make a plan to show these fools their errors in trying to control us?"

"Did you hear that?" Twilight asked, her ears twitching.

"It's a predator of some kind. What species of creature I don't know....but it is big." Fluttershy said.

"But here's the real question...what's it doing this close to a town." Applejack said, as the others narrowed their eyes in thought.

Okay, we know that the Indominus Rex is paired with Spike in this story, but should he be paired with one of his friends?
