Twilight contacts Queen Chrysalis and proposes peace between the two races. Unfortunately, she becomes busy and is unable to continue the diplomatic process, leaving the Changelings completely clueless about what's happening.

I got this idea while writing The Adventures of Gedunk, and actually described this story in the first chapter of that story. Sorry! Anyway, I decided to write a spinoff about this plot detail.

FYI: This story will be told in a series of letters between Twilight and Chrysalis. Mostly.

"*Ahem*

Queen Chrysalis,

It has been brought to my attention that you, along with a dozen or so other Changelings, survived your expulsion from Canterlot. It has also been brought to my attention that you have begun to rebuild. Were we under normal circumstances, the princesses and I would certainly send a large military force to capture and/or kill whatever miserable maggots you've spawned and cut off your head for my trophy case. However, fortunately for you, these are not normal circumstances. As you likely know, I have recently been crowned a princess myself, and my lessons in making friends that have been so integral to my studies have caused me to receive the title Princess of Friendship. Carrying through with these actions would cast doubt on my title, and therefore my capability as a leader would also be doubted. This would not be acceptable. So, I am offering you this option. Disclose your kind's location and range of influence and we will accept you as a sovereign nation, and will negotiate what your borders will be based on said area. You would be allowed to participate in the diplomatic meetings and ceremonies of the pony kingdoms, and would have no trouble from any of those nations inside your borders, so long as you maintain acceptable diplomatic relations with them. You wouldn't be given as much say as a pony nation, at least not until more doubt is cast upon my capabilities and I need to make myself look good, but you and the rest of your race would be spared our conquest. What is your answer, Chrysalis? Feel free to respond anytime, as I imagine this choice would be a bit of a no-brainer. Just remember that you are deciding not only your fate but the fate of your entire species. We already have many of your surviving children locked up in our dungeon, waiting for our final verdict. Think about it.
