Loyalty is a price to pay
She was flying as her rainbow trail led behind her towards Sweet Apple Acres. She never really felt like this,but today she did. She felt useless,emotional,and weak. Rainbow Dash never ever felt like this,but today she did and she didn't like it,nope not one bit. Now,she didn't go to the farm to talk to her good friend Applejack or anything,She went because there was a private location behind the barn as if somepony needed alone time or needed to think about something personal. And that's what Dash was gonna do,she was gonna think. She thought it was an odd thing for her to do,especially when it was midnight and dark as an abyss. When she got closer and closer towards her destinations it got brighter and brighter and she was there. She smiled and looked up to see the shining moon in the atmosphere. Her magenta eyes glistened at the sparkling moon above equestria. There was billions of stars in the dark twilight sky as the moon shined with ease that set Rainbow in a calm state. She walked to where she was underneath a tall bark tree with the leaves and branches hanging down like ribbon. It was close to the calm,but gentle wavy water as she laid down and closed her eyes to think.
'Am I trying my best for my friends of my loyalty. Rainbow Dash thought to herself in her mind till she shook her head in disagreement. She was against that thought.
I'm just a step away,I'm just a breath away from losing my faith today
Applejack saw a rainbow stretch across the gloomy night sky and knew exactly who it was coming at this time of night behind the barn.
Rainbow Dash.
Everypony in the house was asleep and so she grabbed her old worn out light brown cowboy hat she has had for years and scurried outside and closed to door gently. She walked behind the barn and through some tall old apple trees and soon arrived by the small little woods ahead of herself. She gently walked through the hollow woods as there was nothing to be afraid of except if you fell on you face. She clawed her way through bushes and steams and finally reached where her destination was. She hid behind a medium sized bush and stalked the young mare Pegasus before her. The cyan mare looked upset about something as it was eating her up inside and she needed to let it pour out,but she was as stubborn as a little foal not wanting to take a shower. She listened carefully as she heard a few words such as "hopeless" and "non-loyal".
"What the hay"
Applejack said above a whisper,but Rainbow didn't hear her which was a good thing. She looked at the cyan Pegasus and noticed a single tear drop fall from her magenta eyes and crumbling towards the earths ground. The earth ponies green emerald shining orbs saw that her friend was softly crying as she closed her eyes. She rarely saw her speedy friend it the blues and that meant something must be terribly wrong with her.
And she was going to find out. She crawled out of the bushes and dusted herself off. She approached the cyan mare and stood there. She thought the young speeder would notice her by now so she just couched a bit getting full attention from her friend. She smiled at her and sat down beside her and there was complete silence.
I need a hero to save me now!
The two mare sat in silence as it grew uncomfortable for the two of them. Rainbow just stared at the night sky while Applejack looked at her in a bit of a questioning state. Applejack soon broke the silence with her country voice in the air.
"So,why are y'all out her in the orchard this late at night?"
The orange mare looked at her bright blue coat friend as she fidgeted her hooves in front of her in a lazy manor. She shot a quick glance at Applejack and looked back at the sky and ruffled up her nose. She took herself a deep calming breath until she answered her country friend.
"To clear my mind,what about you?"
"I live here,I think I should be asking y"all that"
Rainbow Dash sighed in frustration as her eyes shot at the yellow maned earth pony. She looked back down at her hooves and sighed.
"Loyalty"
"Loyalty?"
"Yeah,that's what I just said"
There was complete silence till Applejack decided that this silent game was to much for her to handle at a time like this.
"What do y'all mean by loyalty Rainbow? Is it a silly game you and pinkie pie are playing on me or what?"
"Who said I was playing around,maybe i'm being serious for once."
"Then why don't y'all tell em what yer problem is?"
"It's not that simple AJ"
"Then what is it,tell me."
The two mares fell into awkward silence once again that dark night upon them. They both felt screaming out what they were thinking,but they didn't.
I've gotta fight today,To live another day,Speakin' my mind today!
"Applejack,Do you think i'm loyal to you guys?"
Rainbow said in a soft voice. Applejack was stunned at what Rainbow was asking her. The words jammed their way through her mind as she thought what Rainbow Dash just said. She breathed in a big gulp of fresh air and looked at her friend in worry.
"Why yes surgarcube. I think you're the most loyalist of ponies out there. Why would y'all think something like that ?"
Applejack finished her sentence and looked at Rainbow who was searching for the correct words to include into her reply. She saw Rainbow open up her mouth,but soon closed it and looked nervous and scared. Rainbow Dash magenta eyes were racing from sight to sight from here to there in an instant and then looked at Applejack and sighed.
"Well,I feel like i'm not doing a good job at it. Like I need to improve to be better at it. I need to know if I need to change for the sack of our friendship!"
Rainbow Dash yelped and the put her head down on the tough,but yet soft ground. Applejack looked at her friend with worry.
"Rainbow Dash,Ah don't think y'all need to change one bit. Yer perfect for what y'all are and there's no need for you to change. As long as your there for us then your fine to me"
Applejack said with seriousness. Rainbow shot a small and gentle smile and then automatically hugged her country friend in an instant. Applejack was taken back at first from the surprise attack hug at first but soon returned it with a small friendly smile. They soon let go and had a small laugh and looked into the dark night that had summoned the sky. Rainbow Dash smiled at her friend who gladly gave one in return.
"Hey Dash! Remember,Loyal ponies never give up."
"And that fits y'all perfectly"

Okay so before anyone goes and says my applejack impression sucks,well its kind like my first time at doing her so I did my best.
I hope you guys liked this little story I made I made as if you look at some parts I added parts of the song

. kinda felt like it fit the story and the mood.
