"MOM!!!" Cyberspace shouted, running out of her room. "What did you do with my computer!?" Cyber found her mother knitting on the living room.
Cyber's mother looked up, then looked back to her knitting. "I assumed you are wondering what happened to you computer?" She asked, her tone calm.
Cyber rolled her eyes. "Did you not hear me running down the hallway, shouting that question?"
Cyber's mother looked up. "No." Cyber walked over to her chair, and slumped down into it. Her mother's stone-dead logic was irritating, to say the least. Cyber at least showed emotion, unlike her robot of a mother.
Cyber leaned forward a bit. "Well?"
"Well what?"
"What did you do with my computer?"
"Oh, I gave it away."
"WHAT?!?" Cyber shouted, nearly falling off her chair.
"I gave it away." Cyber's mother said, still knitting.
"B-b-but..." Cyber stuttered.
"Please don't stutter, dear. You sound idiotic when you do." Cyber's mother said.
"Why?" Cyber managed to get out.
"Why what?"
"Why did you give my computer away?" Cyber asked.
"I gave it to charity." Cyber's mother explained. "You weren't using it much, so I figured somepony else should get use out of it."
"'Weren't using it much'?!" Cyber exclaimed. "Are you just ignorant?! I spend the majority of my life in my room, on that computer! Besides, it wasn't yours to give away!"
"According to the law it was." Cyber's mother explained. "Until a pony turns eighteen, any belongings they claim to have, legally belong to their parents an-"
"I don't give a damn about the law!" Cyber shouted. "You don't simply take someone else's property! That's theft! And for someone who's so intoned with the law, I'd figure you'd realize that!"
"Well, dear, we must interpret the law differently." Cyber's mother said, coldly.
"Fine, just, what charity did you give it to?" Cyber asked.
"I'm not going to tell you." Cyber's mother said.
"Why not?"
"I don't want you to go and steal it."
"It's not stealing if you ask." Cyber said.
"You're not getting it back." Cyber's mother said sternly.
"Why are you such a-"
"Go and fetch your father for me, will you?" Cyber's mother asked.
"Hey, I'm trying to-" Cyber cut herself off. Her father might know where her computer went. "Where is he?"
"He should be out by garden." Cyber's mother replied. Cyber jumped up, and ran outside to the garden, where he father was planting his favorite carrots.
"Dad!" She yelled, as she approached him.
Cyber's father looked up, and saw her coming toward him. "Well, if it isn't my favorite filly!" Cyber grinned, and ran toward him. They embraced each other in a warm hug. Unlike her mother, Cyber's father was more friendly, and conveyed a lot of emotion. Cyber had always been a cross between the two.
"So, how was school?" Cyber's father asked, sitting down on the ground.
Cyber sat down across from him, and said, "Oh, you know, same old, same old. By the way, do you know what mom did with my computer?"
Cyber's father frowned. "What did she do this time?"
"She donated it to charity." Cyber explained. "Said I never used it."
Cyber's father rubbed his forehead. "Ugh...not again." He stood up, and strolled back into the house, Cyber following him, her electric green coat gleaming in the sun.
"Scarlet, what did you do with Cyber's computer?" Cyber's father asked her mother.
"Oh, Midnight, I was wondering if you could help me with this," Cyber's mother replied, holding up the sock she was knitting. "I was wondering if you could see if it fits you."
"Scarlet, did you hear me?" Cyber's father repeated.
"I'm sorry dear, what was that? I wasn't paying attention." Cyber's mother said, looking up.
"What did you do with Cyber's computer?" Cyber's father repeated, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, I gave it to charity, it's not like she uses it." Cyber's mother said.
"What charity?" Cyber's father asked.
"The one down the street, it's Mrs. Dolly's store." Cyber's mother said, calmly.
"Thank you." Cyber's father said, and signaled Cyber to follow him. He quickly ran into his room, grabbing his saddlebag, putting a bag of bits into it.
"What're the bits for?" Cyber asked, as the pair walked out of the door.
"Just in case." Cyber's father said.
When the two arrived at the corner store, Cyber noticed her computer right away. It's eighteen inch long screen, with the navy blue color painted on it, and the griffon symbol on the back, showing it was a Griffinware. It was up on display, being the pride and joy of the store. There was also a price tag. "Sweet Celestia!" Cyber exclaimed, seeing the seven hundred bits it was priced for.
"That's not right." Cyber's father said, and walked over to the counter. "Can I see the manager please?"
Cyber remained by her computer, glaring off anyone who even glanced at it. "Argh! Dammit!" Cyber heard someone yelling. She walked over, and saw a pegasus foal with a grey coat trying to pull out a box out from under several others.
Cyber walked over, and said, "Do ya need some help?" She asked, eyeing him.
"Huh?" The pegasus stumbled back, falling on his flank.
"I asked, 'do ya need some?'" Cyber repeated. The pegasus stood up, rubbing his flank. "You know, when a colt first meets a mare, he normally doesn't rub his butt."
The pegasus jumped slightly, "Hey! What're you..."
"I'm just kidding." Cyber said. "But, seriously, what are you doing?"
"Oh, um..." the pegasus stuttered, "I was trying to grab the new game system." He gestured toward the stack of white boxes.
"Uh..." Cyber eyed his wings. "Why don't you just fly up and grab one?"
"Um..." he reflexed. "I um... can't fly."
"Oh, I um, am sorry I offended you." Cyber said.
"No, it's alright, just, I'm a little different, that's all." The pegasus said.
"So, do you want some help pulling that out?" She gestured to the box.
"Oh, um, sure." The pegasus said, and walked over the stack of boxes, grabbing a side of he box, Cyber grabbing the other.
"Ready?" Cyber asked. The pegasus nodded. "Three, two, one, now!" The two foals pulled, yanking the box out of from under the stack.
The two foals fell over, the box in front of them. The looked at each other, and started laughing, and then stood up. "That was fun." Cyber said. "I'm Cyberspace, by the way, but most people just call me Cyber."
"Gray Obsidian." The Pegasus replied.
"So, Grey, are you new here?" Cyber asked.
"Yeah, I arrived here a week ago." Gray explained. "I'll be starting school on Monday."
"Oh, great, we'll be going to the same school." Cyber said with glee.
"Lovely." Gray said.
Suddenly, Cyber's father walked over, with Cyber's computer in his saddlebag. "Cyber, good news! I was able to make a deal to get you computer back. I convinced the manager that it'd be charity if she gave it back to us, as we can't afford a new one." He noticed Gray. "Who's this?"
"Oh, this is Gray Obsidian." Cyber said.
"Oh, nice to meet you Gray." Cyber's father said.
"You too." Gray said.
"Anyway," Cyber's father turned to Cyber, "we should be getting home. I have a feeling your mother will get upset that we came to get your computer back."
"She probably hasn't even noticed we left." Cyber mumbled, causing her father to chuckle.
"Come on." Her father said, and started toward the door.
Cyber looked back at Gray. "So, uh, I'll se you Monday?"
"Yep, Monday." Gray said, and watched as Cyber left the store with her father.
