Experimental Filly
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterThe filly had fallen asleep not long after being taken out of the barn. A grey unicorn mare appeared at the door. She had an ice blue bouncy mane, ice blue ice and a block of ice for a cutie mark.
“Get in here, sir. Quickly,” the mare said, her voice was gentle but it broke a bit.
The Doctor ran inside. The house was small, but it was warm. Trixie was also in there.
“What took you so long?,” Trixie asked.
“Sorry. I found something…..odd,” the Doctor said.
He walked over to the couch and gently put the sleeping filly on it before taking the covers off her head. The mare was shocked by it. She put a hoof over her mouth.
“Oh my Celestia. I was hoping this day would never come,” the mare said.
“What are you talking about, Iceblock?,” Trixie asked.
“I found this filly in the barn. She didn’t seem to be in very well cared for condition,” the Doctor explained to Trixie.
“She’s not,” Iceblock said.
“What?,” the Doctor asked.
“That stallion that you met before, he’s been experimenting on her. You didn’t notice? The chained brace. But he’s not doing it to be mean. He just wants to help her,” the mare said.
“How does that help her?,” Trixie asked.
“There’s something wrong with her. She was abandoned. We never met her parents, she was just left at our door as a baby. We raised her well, she seemed to be just a normal little filly, up until the day she got her cutie mark. She said she felt a numbing feeling in it before the world went black. She said she didn’t remember what happened after that. But it kept happening. Over time we noticed some changes. She was saying strange things that her teachers were not teaching her, became smarter than any pony else in her class. My employer is trying to cure what ever it is with medicine. But nothing seems to work, my employer is getting more and more frustrated with her, getting more forceful, she’s just getting worse. My employer has even thought she was slowly going crazy. But there are no signs of her going crazy other than the strange things she says. I usually take care of her now. She’s such a sweet filly,” the mare explained.
The filly woke up with a yawn.
“Oh hello Miss. Iceblock. How did I get here?,” the filly said.
“I brought you here,” the Doctor said.
“Thank you,” the filly said.
She got off the couch.
“Sorry what’s your name. I didn’t catch it back in the barn,” the Doctor asked nicely.
“Autumn Root. My name is Autumn Root. But most ponies just call me Autumn,” the filly said.
“I’ll get you some food sweetie,” Iceblock said.
She went into the kitchen.
“So Autumn, Iceblock has been telling us that that stallion was trying to cure you,” the Doctor said,
“Yes. He’s just been having a bad day today. But he’s trying to figure out what’s happening to me. When I got my cutie mark I felt it numbing feeling in my flank a few seconds after I got it. I don’t know what it was, but suddenly, I got really light headed. Then everything went black. The next thing I remember is my two best friends starring at me. When I got up they said I was just lying there. Eyes glowing, and I was mumbling uncontrollably. It was weird, but it just happens on again and off again,” Autumn explained.
“That’s odd,” the Doctor said.
He took out his out his sonic screwdriver.
“Well, let’s have a look,” the Doctor said.
He scanned the couch and then checked the readings.
“Hm. Well there’s a weak physic signal around the couch around you and now you,”
He scanned the filly and the sonic screwdriver’s beep got more high pitched.
“And… Oh my,” the Doctor said shocked.
“What is it?,” Autumn asked.
“Your whole body is practically drowning in magic. Every cell in your body has it in large amounts. It’s huge, each one is filled to the brim with it. The energy is outstanding,” the Doctor said.
“Thank you. That’s what my doctor said. Every strand of my hair and blood cell is filled with the stuff. It’s not active magic, at least not when I got tested. The first time I had that black out I would get transported to the hospital. They would check for irregular heartbeats, blood pressure, problems in the eyes and ears, high or low temperature. The next day, when they didn’t find anything wrong with that they started taking X-Rays. My bones, my brain everything. They examined those, it took them all night. I had to stay there for two nights at that point. They still didn’t find anything wrong. They took some hair samples, blood samples and saliva samples. The next morning they told us that they did find that all those samples were filled with magic. When they looked at it more closely they found that it was inactive. It had been passively active but only for the few seconds, at the exact time before after and during the black out. After that it was as if it never existed. They also gave me bad news about my wings. I knew I’ve always been scared of opening them or letting anyone touch me in a certain way, because they’ve been hurt before, by my biological parents when I was a baby-,”
“Hang on. If this happened when you were a baby, how do you remember it?,” Trixie asked.
“Because when I was given up they also left me a letter explaining it. They said they did it to me purposely as punishment for being a pegasus since my mother was a unicorn and my father was an earth pony. They said the only reason I ended up as a pegasus was because my mother’s mother and sister were pegasus. But my mother’s father was unicorn so that’s why my mother ended up being a unicorn. They said they didn’t want their friends making fun of their strange family tree, so they gave me up and gave me up to a family were pegasi are more ‘fit’ to live in,”
