//-------------------------------------------------------// Immortal -by Megapwny- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Day of Silence //-------------------------------------------------------// Day of Silence Blood. That's all I can see. It's all around me, all over my hands, my body. Even some on my face... Blood mixed with tears. I stare at the stallion walking towards me slowly, and back away as quickly as I can. The bodies of my parents lay behind him, blood oozing from the gashes all over their bodies. I whimper and cry as I back away, fear filling my body as he grins wickedly and holds the bloodied knife towards me in a threatening manner. "You didn't think I'd let anyone survive this, did ya? Little girl?" he asks me in what I can only percieve as the voice of a maniac in my six-year-old brain. "You think just cause you're a little filly that I'd take sympathy on ya?" I whimper as my back hits the counter, and a fork falls off and lands next to me. I look at it with my eyes and then quickly grab it, holding in front of me defensively. "St-stay away!" I yell out, but he just laughs and keeps coming. This is it... I think. I'm gonna die here. I don't want to die! He stands right in front of me, and I squint my crying eyes shut, preparing for the worst. But then... Sirens. I open my eyes and see the red and blue flashing lights pouring through the windows, and the door is thrown open by a pair of police officers as they come in with guns raised. The killer looks at them and laughs, then crashes through the window above the sink as he flies off. Once he's gone, I quickly crawl to my mother's bleeding body, and I can hear shallow and ragged breathing. "M-mommy...?" I squeak out, and keep my wings at my side as I look at her face, blood oozing from the corner of her mouth. Before long, her breathing stops, and she stares blankly at the ceiling as I sob into her chest. One of the officers comes over and gently picks me up, and I don't resist as he carries me outside, my head on his shoulder as he pets my back gently. Three Days Later... I stand before the ruler of Equestria herself, Princess Celestia, as the officers explain what happened. It's all I can do to keep myself from bursting into tears for the fifth time today. "She's orphaned, Princess... What should we do?" He asks her, and she looks at me with a half smile to try and cheer me up. "Find a good home for her, and tell no one of the incident. We don't want to cause a panic," she says. "Yes, princess," he says as he bows, then turns to me. He walks over and picks me up again, carrying me outside in his arms as we start flying back to Cloudsdale. I don't know if I'll ever be able to look at my home the same way again, but I don't have much of a choice. He flies around town with me, looking for anyone who would take me in. No one would. Apparently a lot of them already had enough mouths to feed without throwing in some orphan. I let out a heavy sigh as we go to the tenth house today, and see a light purple stallion with a blue mane and bright green eyes open the door. "Oh, hello officer. What can I do for you?" he asks, and looks at the snivelling wreck that is me. "I was wondering if you'd be kind enough to give this little filly a home. She's orphaned and I can't find anyone to take her... We've been looking all day," he explains, and the stallion nods, not taking his eyes off of me as he comes closer and gives me a small smile. "Hey little one," he says, holding his hand out. "Do you wanna stay with me?" "So you'll take her?" "Only if she wants to," he says, and I slowly reach out and wrap my stubby, six-year-old fingers around one of his, and he smiles. "I think that's a yes." I nod and the officer sets me down, patting me on the head gently. "Be strong, kid," he smiles, and walks off. The other then crouches down and looks at me. "So, what's your name?" he asks me. "N-night Rain..." I say quietly, and he smiles. "That's a beautiful name," he says. "I think I knew your father." "Really?" My ears perk up a little. "Yeah, I worked with him in the lab," he thinks for a moment. "Star Shade, wasn't it?" I nod, remembering his face as the stallion barged in and yelled at him for whatever money he had. When he tried to resist, the stallion simply sliced his throat open. I can still remember the blood spraying from his neck as he choked on it. I shake my head, trying to get the memory away, and the stallion gently puts a hand on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry about what happened... I can't imagine what you must be going through," he says, and I wipe a few tears from my face. He gently picks me up and carries me inside, stroking my back gently. "You're okay," he says as he takes me to a room and gently sets me on a bed. I lay down, wrapping myself in the blankets as he strokes my head gently. "It's okay, you're safe now. No one's gonna hurt you," he says soothingly, and I nod weakly in response. I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about all of this. Like it's not over. Of course, that could just be all in my head... Right? Author's Note Well, this is the start of something that's been rotting my mind forever now. Hope yall enjoy! Oh, and the mature tag IS there for very good reason, reasons I'll get to in later chapters. See ya's! -Devs //-------------------------------------------------------// School Days //-------------------------------------------------------// School Days Two Weeks Later... I sit alone on the bench, watching as several colts and fillies run around, giggling wildly as they play their games. If I could stop thinking about what happened, I'd join them. But I can't. It's... Seared into my brain. Is that the word? I don't know. What I do know is that I wish I would just get up and... "Watch out!" I hear the voice behind me, and before I can react I'm thrown off of the bench and land face first on the cloud/ground in front of me, a throbbing pain in the back of my head. I push myself up with my hands, and lean on my elbow as I rub the back of my head. I look up, and blow some purple strands of my mane from my eyes. In front of me, lying facedown with her limbs sprawled out, is a light cyan filly with a rainbow coloured mane and tail. She wears a bright white tank top and black shorts, and I get to my feet and walk over to her. "Are you okay?" I ask as I help her stand up, her magenta eyes locking on to mine. "Why didn't you get out of my way?" She yells at me, and I flinch a little. "Why didn't you turn so you wouldn't hit me?" I retort, and she glares at me. I can see the red spot over her eyes, which must have been where she hit me, and she grits her teeth a little. "I thought you'd be smart enough to move," she says. "Why weren't you smart enough to turn away?" "You calling me stupid?" She spits it at me. "And what if I am?" I retort. "I'll have to show you what I'm made of," she says. "No thanks," I say. "What? Too scared to take on the Dash? Gonna go cry to your mommy?" That hurts. "Of course not. Don't have one to cry to," I say. "What do you mean? Everyone has a mom and dad," she says, and I think her tone softens a bit. "Nothing," I spit the word out and turn to walk away, and she doesn't stop me. As I walk, I can feel the tears coming before the first one goes down my cheek, and I run and hide on a nearby cloud to clear my mind. Before long I hear the bell ring, and I force myself to get up and go inside, wiping my face before anyone sees that I was crying. One Week Later... I've been avoiding the rainbow haired filly all week. What she said really got to me, I don't even want to look at her. I walk around the playground behind the school with my hands in my pockets and my head hanging low. I just walk. Not taking to anyone. Too nervous to. I don't know why, I just am. After a while, I can feel some eyes trained on me. I don't know how many, but I know they're there. I look up and turn around, and see a light brown cold with a darker brown mane going down over his eyes walking towards me, two friends with him, one on each side. I roll my eyes and turn back around, but they keep following me. Shortly after, I find myself backed into a corner with the three of them blocking my exit. "Look at the new kid," the leader says in a high pitched and extremely annoying voice. "What kind of fur is that? What, were you dropped into a furnace when you were born?" I roll my eyes. "No." "Look at those eyes, boys," he says. "Who the heck has red eyes? What, are you some kind of monster?" Okay, it's starting to hurt now. "No," I say. "I got them from my dad." "Really? I haven't seen anyone with those kind of eyes before," he snickers. "You sure you got them from the family?" "Yeah, I am. Can you leave me alone now?" This is getting on my nerves. "Or what? You gonna go cry to your mommy and daddy? Aww, poor baby," the three of them laugh. "I can't do that," I say, my voice wavering a bit at the mention of them. "Why not? Too scared?" "No, they're... Gone," I say. I don't want to tell anyone what happened. "What? They leave you behind or something?" He snickers. "I don't find that hard to believe, you're definitely not worth looking at." "Leave me alone!" I shout at them, and they all laugh as the tears start running down my face. "Aww, look at the reject. She's crying now. Too bad your mom and dad didn't want you," he laughs as he says it. That's it. I can't take any more. My back hits the wall and I slump to my rear, holding my head in my hands as the sobs start coming, and they just point and laugh at me. "Leave her alone!!!" I can hear the voice, but I don't look up. I know the voice, it's the rainbow haired filly from before. "Why should we listen to you, Rainbow Crash?" I can hear the bully ask as the others snicker. "She did nothing to you, so why are you picking on her? Pick on me instead," she says, and I look up slightly. "Whatever. Go defend your girlfriend, Rainbow Crash. We'll be back," he says, snickering as he and the others walk off. She watches them go for a few seconds before turning around and looking at me as I stand up. "Are you okay?" She asks me, and I wipe the tears from my face without saying anything. She walks up to me, but I turn and start walking away. I don't need her help nor do I want it. I can hear her walking behind me, and pick up my pace. But before long she flies in front of me and forces me to stop. I look away from her, but she puts a hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay?" She asks again. "Seriously, I want to help." "Why?" I spit out. "Because..." She lets out a sigh. "Because I'm sorry for what happened, okay? It was my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going." She clearly doesn't like admitting it, but it helps a little. "Okay then, so what?" I ask. "The point is that I don't like seeing anyone get hurt like that. If it's me, I don't care. I can deal with it," she says. "But considering how bad what they were saying hurt you, I needed to stop it." "But why? We aren't friends, so why would you want to help me?" "Because I think you need a friend," she holds out her hand. "What do you say?" I take a long look at her hand, and then slowly reach out and take it, and we shake. Author's Note For the record I don't even fucking want to continue this anymore. But what the fuck ever. I had such high hopes for this. So many plans. But NO. People downvote the shit out of it just because it's Anthro or because it has the M and sex tags. Even though that shit isn't gonna happen a lot anyway. But whatever. Fuck reality. Let's just go with bullshit opinions that aren't even proven. Yeah. That'll make the author feel good.
