The OC Theory
Chapter 7

The stress of all this was finally getting to me. I couldn’t pretend to be Kate for ever.

As we entered the convention center we found the entire center jam packed with people in one room. They seemed to be panicking. We found the receptionist from yesterday running down the hall and we stopped her.

“What's going on? Why is everybody panicking?” I asked still sounding like Kate.

“You didn’t hear! One of the kids from Chicago just vanished off the stage!” She said before galloping away and turning a corner.

“Oh horse apples. Now what? Our only solution to this problem just vanished out of nowhere!” Said Amos.

We started to turn around before we saw a small filly caught in a barrier, and a stallion pounding on the side of it. She was tomato red with green mane and beside her was a small dog. Suddenly a flash happened and we all witnessed her vanish, and the stallion begin to crying.

’Oh crap! Where did she go?!’ asked Kate.

’I have no idea- I was about to finish when suddenly I was also inside a sphere.

“Kate!” Screamed my loyal group of friend.

The shock of suddenly being caught in a pink bubble barrier caused me to drop my disguise. I flailed wildly as everyone else in the convention hall went silent and dropped their heads as they realized what was happening. This was the inevitable end for anyone going through the transformations.

“NO! I can’t go down like this!” I yelled while crawling in a ball.

’Chase, relax. Please. We’ll be fin-’

An explosion sounded and then I was unconscious again. Yay……

Chase. This is the inevitable end for you.

Wait. I’m not unconscious? Or Dead?

Yes to the former. And the latter, it depends on how you perceive it.

What happened to you, brain? So serious all of a sudden. And what’s that supposed to mean?

Chase, I, am your human personality. I represent your life before all this happened. And now, is where I leave. From now on, your OC will guide you, until of course, the true end comes, and then you will be alone to face whatever lies outside of this unconscious state with your friends.

Hey, don’t worry about me. I’ll leave a piece of myself in your OC so that he’s not too much of a party pooper.

I’m going to miss you, human Chase.

And with that, chase was truly alone. Or was he?

Oh god… what happened?

Kate! You’re here! We fell unconscious. I am just as lost as you.

If I’m speaking to you over the link, even though you’re still unconscious then you must have returned to your body. So now we must ask, why are we not awake?

I don’t know Kate. I don’t know…

Just outside the Crystal Empire’s protection spell, laying on the snow were two changelings. But they were not alone. Three shadows from within the Empire’s spell approached them, a metal clink sounding with each step they took.

“Your highness! We found two unconscious changelings just outside the Empire’s northern side. How should we proceed?” Asked General Lighthoof, a tall, pegasus of the Solar Guard serving for her majesty, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza’s personal guard.

“Bring them to me. I’d like to speak with them when they awake.” Said the Princess herself over a small communicator built into the General’s helmet.

“I have quite a bit to discuss with them.”
