//-------------------------------------------------------// By My Hand -by Night Music- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Everything //-------------------------------------------------------// Everything It was a dark night. Clouds blanketing the sky as far as the eye could see. The only thing that provided any light was the moon, gentle rays piercing through the thick layer of cloud. and the car that sped down the curvy stretch of road. "God it's too damn dark." Alan said as he squinted at the road ahead of him. His hands turning the wheel as he maneuvered down the back of the serpent that was called a road. "Sweetie, please slow down, we have no where to be at this time of night." Janice pleaded. While it was true, the statement had no effect on her husband. She looked at him and sighed. Dark bags had formed under his eyes due to the lack of sleep. The man next to her was pale as the moon itself, scruff was beginning to grow on his face and his hair was unkempt and long. It was as if someone had put him in a wind tunnel to style his hair. Attire was nothing to look at either. Jeans, a t-shirt, and a jet black hoodie with the strings removed. "Do you want me to drive? You look like you need the sleep... and then some." Alan looked at his wife with a smile on his face. "Beauty sleep is for those who aren't already beautiful. I mean look at me. Poster boy for 'beauty' right here." Alan chuckled, so did his wife. His eyes went back to the road. "Oooh Alan look! Deer!" His wife exclaimed as she grabbed his shoulder and pointed to the right side of the road. There were indeed deer on the side of the road. But to Alan these were some freaky looking deer. The eyes were too wide. Apparently Alan was the only one to see them. Gone, passed by as the car moved past them. Much to Alan's relief. What was with those deer? It was as if they were staring right at him. Not at the car itself but at him. Alan shuddered as a chill ran up his spine. "There's more!" Janice exclaimed once again. This time Alan did his best to ignore them. But no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get the image of those... things, out of his head. Alan had begun to zone out at this point. Not paying attention to the road besides its twist and turns. "Sweetie you okay?" Janice asked, concerned about the look on her husbands face. "Yeah. I'm just... not feeling so hot right now..." It was true, it was like his stomach was collapsing on itself. Just as Alan was about to make a particularly sharp turn, an image seared itself into his mind. Burning its way into his skull and burying itself into his head. The image itself? A purple horse looking thing with wings and a horn. And the eyes, staring. Right. At. Him. "Alan!" Was all he heard before a deafening crash drowned everything else out. His eyes snapped open and his hands tightened around the wheel, but it was to late, right in front of him and his speeding car, was a tree. A moment later, the world went black. How long had it been? Where was he? Was Janice okay? All these questions race through Alan's head as soon as he woke up. His head shot up from the steering wheel of his car. The air bag had been deflated. A pain shot through his head. He reached a hand up to his forehead, only to recoil at the wet feeling. He brought his hand forward. It was blood. "Blood?" Alan asked. His eyes widened and looked towards where his wife, Janice, had been sitting. Blood. An unnatural amount of it. But no Janice. "Alan!" That was her voice. He had to help her, where ever she was. Alan got out of the car and looked around. No light, nobody. He was alone. Alone in a dark forest that was just off a road. He had to go back and get help, get help and leave Alice here... Alan shook his throbbing head. He looked back to his car. If he was going to help Alice he needed to be able to protect himself. Alan stepped back to his car and bent over into the drivers seat. "The glove box, gun. Get it." He told himself. He reached over to the glove box and opened it. In the glove box was a couple of blood covered papers, a parking ticket, the gun, and a small case of ammo for it. A .44 Magnum with a shortened barrel. A big enough caliber to scare most people off, but small enough to fit in the tiny compartment. He loaded the gun and closed the box. He held it in his hand wondering if- "Alan help me!" It was her again. Alan shoved the case of ammo into his hoodie pocket and ran towards the direction of Janice's voice. "So close." Alan said as he kept running. Running to save Janice. Alan kept himself focused as the sound of his feet and his heart began to pound in rhythm. He shoved his way through a large wall of shrubbery to only see a faint light. "Please! Help me!" She was there. The light. That was her. As Alan got closer and closer he began to notice figures. Different from regular people. "Horses?" Alan whispered to himself. "Let's just get back through to Equestria and get back to base. This creature will be a good subject for the experiments." "Okay, let's go." And just like that, the figures were gone, the light still there. Alan rushed up to the sight and noticed nothing, nothing but a single glowing orb. "Touch it." Alan said. Unsure of where he even got that idea. But no matter what, there had been that thought in the back of his head that his is where Janice was. Alan walked up to the orb and placed his hands on either side and lifted. What he felt next felt like the greatest adrenaline rush he ever had. His heart pounding. Mind racing. Flying. And before he knew it, he was back on solid ground. Everything was different. Warmer. Brighter. Louder? He could hear the bustling of people. He looked around and noticed he was on the very edge of a town. He began to walk, gun in hand. Ready for anything. As he walked farther into town, the sound of people grew louder. And yet, he hadn't even seen anyone yet. "Need to find Janice, I need her back." Alan whispered to himself, trying to calm himself down. As soon as he got close enough to see the people that had been making the noise. He froze. More horses. These things took Janice. It was a celebration of sorts from what he could tell. On a stage was a tall white horse with a colorful flowing mane. And next to it was something like a darker version of itself. And next to both of them were more of them. His mind seared with rage and pain as names began to seep into his thoughts. "Rainbow Dash, Rarity, AppleJack and Fluttershy, and lastly... Pinkie Pie." He didn't know why he knew those names, but he didn't care. Alan walked closer. "And so, it is with my great pleasure to bring about yet another summer sunset celebration, and the one doing the honor for me this evening will be none other than Ponyvilles resident princess, Twilight Sparkle!" And with a bright purple flash. It appeared onstage. Alan felt his blood begin to boil and his spine begin to tingle as he looked at what he could assume was a she. "You!" Alan shouted, drowning out everyone in the area. Alan pushed his way past the crowd. He could see them all as he passed. All of their eyes, widening with fear. He didn't care. "Give Janice back!" He shouted, as he continued through the crowd, some of the winged ones flew down from above with spears and halted his progress. Alan grabbed just above the blade of the spear and jammed it into the guard's gut. After its grip loosed, he pulled the spear and swung it into the side of the other guard's head, knocking them both unconscious. He threw the spear to side side and continued his walk. "I want Janice back!" The eyes of the tall white one widened as she watched Alan draw closer. She was about to say something right before she was interrupted by the pony known as Rainbow Dash. "You got some nerve walking up in here and hurting ponies. You want to be taught a lesson?" "You things took my wife from me! I'll fucking kill you all if you hurt her!" Alan yelled his vision blurring as tears formed in his eyes. The magnum raised to the group of ponies. His sleep deprived mind shouting at him from within to pull the trigger. "I have no clue who you're talking about, but if you think you can eve—" Celestia had enough of this. "Rainbow please stop antagon—" But yet again, she was interrupted. Not by anypony this time. But by one of the loudest noises she had ever heard. Everypony around her recoiled at the sound. "That was a warning shot you bitch! Talk again, and the next one is going those pigeon wings of yours." This was one of the worst things that could happen on any day. Celestia had no clue how to handle it, but she had to figure it out fast. Unless she wanted one of her ponies to get hurt.
