Epilogue

Sunsets were beautiful in the Badlands. It’s like a slice of Celestia’s sun stayed shining along the coastal waters just a little longer than anywhere else in or around Equestria. The weather was hot during the day, but when the sun began to sink down to make way for Luna’s beautiful night, it was as if at that moment in time the weather was perfect for hanging with family.

My hoof put the shifter into my Pontiac’s last gear. Dust rose up behind me while I traveled the quarter mile towards the road that would take me around the edge of the Badlands. I named my autowagon. The pure white coat on it was something I would never change. Because of that coat I called my wagon a ghost. The Ghost. For when it traveled a quarter mile it was as if nothing could see it.

I pulled out onto the road, heading right into a dirt area that had hills rolling up and down the landscape.

I used to live my life according to rules that pertained to that of a thief, but I realized something. That was no way to live. I learned how to live my life the way I had always craved.

With my family.

“I live my life a quarter mile at a time. For those ten seconds or less. I’m free.”

I gently pressed the brake pedal down, coming to a stop right in front of a stop sign while an autowagon drove through the intersection. Joining me on the road was a matte black Charger with a blower that scooped in large amounts of air while the vehicle revved its engine. Diesel Fuel looked out at me with his window rolled down. Gently wrapping the necklace in my hoof, I took it off, giving the silver piece back to him like I had promised.

We stepped on the gas pedals, both of us bolting down the road enjoying the drive. This is what I lived for. Just enjoying life with family. As the road began to fork into three lanes, two heading deeper into the Badlands and the other leading towards Sunsota, a silver Skyline autowagon sped past us before I could catch a glimpse of the driver. The Charger and Pontiac both turned to the left while the Skyline went to the right.

No matter where my brothers are, whether it’s halfway across Equestria or a quarter mile away, I will always be there for them, because I know they will always be there for me.
