Chapters "So this is Ponyville. Hmm, it looked a lot smaller from the air, not even counting the distance I was from it." he said to himself. "Anyway, I came for an expirement. Does this really work? It turned me into an alicorn when I was a foal playing with this priceless heirloom. Ah, how young and naive I was back then."
He walked through the town, getting odd glances from the ponies he walked by. Once, he was able to hear one of the ponies saying, "Could he be royalty?" Much to his disdain, he was later tackled by a pink pony whom carried the distinct odor of cotton candy. She spoke in an odd manner, speaking so face he was barely able to tell what she was saying, but he was able to tell that she said,"Wow! Another alicorn! I've only met 3 alicorns, and they're princesses. Hey I have a question, are you a prince? Because if you're then I'll have to throw you an extra special welcome party. Because you're royalty I need to throw a party with royal standards. So are you a prince?"
"NO! NOW GET OFF OF ME!!!" he replied angrily.
"Whaaat? You're not royalty? then why are you an alicorn? I thought only royalty could be alicorns." she asks.
"Hmmm, hey I've got an idea."
"What is it?"
"Could you introduce me to some of the ponies around here? I'm trying to test a theory I've got."
"What's the theory?"
"It's secret."
"Don't worry, I'll keep you're secret! I Pinkie Promise that I'll keep your secret."
"Mmmm, no."
"Awww."
"Anyway, I'm looking for some ponies. I believe they represent the Elements of Harmony."
"Oh I'm one of them. I represent the Element of Laughter."
"Excellent! Now hold still."
"What for?"
"Please don't talk during this."
"Fine."
Wordlessly, he places the ancient key on her forehead and turns it. There's a brief click and a flash of light, and later where Pinkie Pie was standing, now stands a pink, frizzy maned alicorn.
"Wow!" she exclaims, "What is that thing?"
"I don't know, but I call it The Stellar Key." he replies, "It's how I became an alicorn. Apparently, due to brief analysis, you no longer are a representation of laughter, but now you're the alicorn of laughter. You can make anyone laugh with your magic."
"Yippee! Oh wait I've got to start planning your welcome party! Bye!"
"Pinkie Pie, wait! Oh darn. Now how will I find the other Elements, speaking of which.I wonder if any of the other ponies in Ponyville are capable of becoming an alicorn. I know! I'll try it on that mare over there. She's passed out from taking too many shots, so she won't mind if I make her an alicorn."
After another click and a flash of light, Berry Punch was an alicorn." Hmm, I wonder what she has power over. " he wondered." Interesting. Her talent is making and drinking wine. I'm pretty sure she has power over alcohol now."
"Oh, that's not good is it. Well, I don't know how to un-alicorn her, so she'll be an alicorn for a while now. Luckily, we won't have a wine alicorn forever. I turned my parents into alicorns, but after a few years, they died. So the resulting state is more power, but no immortality. However, I believe if an alicorn gains enough power they become immortal."
"I remember though, she mentioned something about the local royalty to be alicorns. I might upset them if I make too many ponies alicorns."

Chapter One
"That's it!" he exclaimed. "The elements are normally cautious of anything they can't explain, so they won't even come within 10 hooves of me. What if I sent them a letter. only I'll use my enhanced powers as an alicorn to turn into a sheet of paper. Yes! It's surefire! I know where they're adresses are, but they won't let me even come close without knocking me out and hogtieing me."
Good, he thought, now let's start with Fluttershy, she'll be quite kind. A poof later, he was in a mailbox and addressed to Fluttershy's Cottage at the edge of the Everfree forest. A few hours later, Derpy picked him up and delivered him to Fluttershy. Even later, Fluttershy opened up the envelope. It was a short paper saying"Dear Fluttershy,

The next day, he was in Twilight's mailbox, but he didn't expect her freaking out after reading the letter and setting him on fire.
"Ow! What was that for! I have 3rd degree burns everywhere and 2nd degree burns covering my face!"
"You were threatening to turn me into a... oops."
"Can you get me to a hospital?" he managed to ask before everything he passed out from the pain.
A mad dash to the hospital and a long treatment later...
"Hello? Are you awake yet?"
"Considering the fact that I'm used to exsquisite pain, yes."
"Finally! I'm sorry for not taking the meaning positively."
"Still, I have a mission to fulfill."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean this!"*click*
"Aaah! You know that light is really bright, but I thought you weren't going to because I burned you."
"I'm doing this because I was born with an ability. It is also known as foreboding."
"Isn't that an ability that can tell you when bad things are going to happen?"
"Yes. I felt that a great evil would come. Greater than Discord, Greater than Chrysalis, even greater than if everypony started spontaneously being picked for a ponyslaughter."
"That isn't good."
"Indubadubly. Now that you're an alicorn, I shall explain your new powers. You control all of magic. If you wish you could relieve your Princesses of their magic. You only can control Unicorn Magic though. Discord's Chaos Magic is out of your power zone. You can also give ponies magic. You can cast high power spells without any fear of failing. If their are any magically induced ailments on anypony, you may relieve them of it. So basically, you control magic. I turned your two friends Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie into alicorns. Fluttershy controls kindness, and Pinkie Pie controls laughter, respectively. So you basically control your Element. Be careful Twilight Sparkle. Now could you bring your friends here?"
"Okay, I can get them here, but that's a lot to take in."
"It always is. I'm the alicorn of knowledge, and my name suits it because knowledge can be used for good or bad. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to take a nap."
"Ok I'll go. Have a quick recovery!"*poof!*"And I see you just healed youself."

"You wanted to see my friends?" Twilight says to Lux.
"Yes Twilight, Thank you. Now then I'll explain after the deed is done."*click**click**click*"There! Now Rainbow, Rarity, and Applejack, please look in this mirror."
"Ah never would've thought that Ah would be turned into an alicorn. Pinkie said mah horoscope said that something unexpected would happen." Applejack murmurs.
"So, we're alicorns now?"Rarity managed to say before fainting from pure joy.
Rainbow Dash simply said,"YEAH!"
"Now that you see why I called you here to my hospital room, I shall explain my motives. You see, my family has had this heirloom for centuries. We simply called it the Stellar Key and found it as a decoration. Now if you'll listen close, I'll- why is the rain red? Oh crap. I think I made a mistake. I was toying with a the key and decided to make a wine alicorn out of the local drunk. Hey, Doctor? May I leave yet?"
"Well, your burns are healed, so I don't see why not."
"Excellent. Now then girls, we must stop the wine alicorn!"
A extensive search for Berry Punch later...
"Apparently, the hard part was finding her. She's passed out, again. Well, I can't un-alicornize her, so I'll have to just put this anti-magic necklace on her. I don't believe we'll have wine rain again, but the animals might end up drunk from her previous antics." Lux said as he clamped the necklace around her neck.
"Now, I have one more visit to make. There's a mare in Ponyville. She has constantly distorted eyes. I believe, that no one told you that she has the potential to be an oracle. I believe she may have further insight on this coming evil. However, currently, I must make her an alicorn for her eyes to pierce the boundaries of space and time. I've met her twice before, but never in the flesh."
"And that when did that happen?" Rainbow Dash remarked.
"I mailed myself twice you know. Can't be transforming ponies in public now can I?" Lux replied.
"Well, technically, the best thing to do is to wait for the mail to arrive."
"Let's go back to Twilight's house and perhaps we can find something about this key of mine." Lux says." Oh yes, and Rainbow?
"Yeah Lux?"
"As an alicorn you should be able to fly faster."

Took me forever to update this.
I'm going to try to update as commonly as possible, because I found out that a few people favorited The grasp of power.
"This is the last book in the mythology section! This has to be the one!" Lux screamed. "Let's see, Kentrosaurus, Kalamari, The Kraken, and Killer bees. This can't be possible! No book in the entire library knows anything about this key!"
"Urrrrrrrr..." Rainbow Dash murmured. "Looking through all those books is more tiring than the Equestrian 500."
"Oh come now Rainbow Dash. We've only been doing this since noon. See, it's only midnight." Lux chided.
'What?!? You mean I should have been sleeping hours ago?!?"
"Yes, but if you wanted more energy, you should have drank the tea I offered you."
"Why?"
"That's an old recipie I've got. IT's an energy drink made especially for low-energy-late-night activities. However, I find it odd the Twilight fell asleep on that book ages ago. Wait, this article here. About the Pre-Discord Era. It says something about an ancient demon being imprisoned in chains of holy magic sealed by a lock. The name of the mage who imprisoned the demon was named... What?!? Apparently his name is Sanctus Tenebrae! He was my grandfather!"
"You know, it's kind of fitting that you're his grandson, because you have the key and all." Rainbow Dash murmured quietly.
"But apparently, he guarded the key for the rest of his life. Only a winged unicorn could live that long. That's what a pony becomes if the key only works halfway. This occurence makes them have a lot of longevity, but doesn't make them immortal. They don't have as much magic and lack an Earth pony's strength and endurance. Oh yes and Rainbow Dash? I believe according to what my parents told me before they died is that I was born on the exact moment a Rainbow colored explosion burst through the sky."
"That was my Sonic Rainboom!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "But, technically, all that says is that I'm older than you by about 5 years older than you."
"I guess so. But currently all we learned is that this key holds the future of Equestria. And I suppose that every evil entity probably has minions. We must guard this ke- Hold it someones at the door." Lux says. " Can I hel-" The pony at the door immediatly smacked him in the face. "Well, sir. that was a bit rude now if you'll stop trying to knock me out cold with that rock, I may listen to what you want from the library at this hour."
"I WANT THE KEY!"
"Sorry, but I'm not loaning it to anyone." Lux replies as he closes the door on the mysterious pony. However, the instant he does, the mysterious pony breaks down the door. "You do know you're going to have to pay for that." Lux says.
"That pony is a minion of that ancient demon!' Rainbow Dash screams to Lux.
"His name is not that ancient demon, but rather TENEBRIS ARDERE!" The mysterious pony exclaimed.
"Hey Lux, what does Tenebrae mean? Because your name doesn't sound so common." Rainbow Dash asked.
"It means darkness, and ardere means blaze, and Lux means light, Sanctus means holy, and that's a list of names." he replied.
"Enough chatter! I want that key!"
'Well you ain't gonna get it fatty!" Lux yells at him. Lux's horn sparked and the mysterious pony was surrounded by a ominous glow. Suddenly, Lux's horn glowed to a zenith of intensity and the pony was crushed into a small spark.
"Did you just kill him?"
"No, I simply sealed him in a dimensional rift where he can't bug me. However, that spell takes alot out of me. I believe I will pass out from exhaustion in 5-4-3-2-1." Lux said before collapsing to the floor.
"Aaaaaah." Twilight murmured as she woke up. "good mornin- Why is Lux passed out?"
"It's a long story Twilight." Rainbow dash replied.
"Let's talk about it over breakfast, okay?"
"Okay."
A long explanaton later...
"And that's what happened." Rainbow Dash finished.
"Most interesting. So Lux here is the grandson of a great unicorn mage." Twilight finally said.
"Errr." Lux murmured, finally slipping out of unconciousness.
"Well, sleepyhead, you're finally awake." Twilight said."Here, have some coffee."
"Thanks. So, what's for breakfast?" Lux asks. "No, wait. Don't tell me. We're having blueberry muffins with a side of honey covered bread."
"Correct. I believe that you know who you are." Twilight says.
"Grandson of the great Unicorn mage, Sanctus."
"Do you think I should tell Princess Celestia about the key and about you and the demon and all the other stuff?" Twilight asks.
"Probably. Who better to keep this safe than Princess Celestia, right?" Lux replies. "I mean the minions of Tenebris Ardere already know that I have it. Anyway, look the mails here and so is Derpy who is struggling to get the mailbox open. One of these days, I might feel enough pity to try and fix her eyes."
"Hi Twilight!" Derpy says."Here's your mail. You came right in the nick of time too. I can't get the mailbox open."
"My friend Lux here wants to ask you something." Twilight says to Derpy.
"Sure Twilight what is it?"
"My friend wants to turn you into an alicorn."
"Huh? Twilight, why does he want to do that?"
"I'll handle this one Twilight. Because I need you to unlock the power of your.. eyes."
