It was fun (and depressing at some points) typing this. Hope yall like it!
The Strange Day
Fluttershy gracefully stepped out of her cottage at 9:30 in the morning to pick up food for her animals like she does every Sunday. Everything was all fine and dandy until she reached the town. It was painted in vivid shades of pink, yellow, and green.
"Pinkie Pie just is throwing another party, that's all." Fluttershy under her breath as she cautiously walks forward towards the pet shop. She hastily trotted across town to avoid attention like she always does until she reaches her destination. A little bell chimes as Fluttershy walks in. She notices her friend Derpy behind a bag of dog food as she looks around aimlessly.
"Excuse me Derpy. What brings you to the pet shop today?" Fluttershy whispers, barely audible.
"I work here now part time! Muffins take awhile to bake so I work here while the first batch is baking in the oven!" Derpy answers cheerfully.
"Well it was great running into you but I have animals to feed." Fluttershy speaks more confidently now as she hauls bags of animal food to where the checkout counter is located.
"That'll be 5 bits!" Derpy says very matter of factly. Fluttershy hands her the boys and gallops off without another word, dragging bags of animal food behind her. As she galloped through the town, Fluttershy noticed many ponies staring at her. She knew that something was very off but she couldn't put her hoof on it.
When she finally arrived at her cottage after a long, grueling walk through Ponyville, she found that all of her animals had been impatiently waiting by the door.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't know you were all so hungry, I would have come home much faster!" Fluttershy whimpered. Instead of digging into their fresh food, the animals started shoving Fluttershy out of the door aggressively. They pull out a worn out rag they found in Fluttershy's kitchen and tie it tightly around her head as they carry her off into the heart of Ponyville.
Eventually, Fluttershy started hearing familiar voices shouting, "There she is," and, "She's finally arrived!" Adrenaline pumped through her body and her weak self gained enough energy to break free from the grasp of her animal friends. She ripped the dirty rag off to find all the citizens of Ponyville staring at her. Before she had an emotional breakdown, everyone screamed in disharmony HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
That's when it hit Fluttershy, today was her birthday!
"I can't believe that this is all for me!" Fluttershy gasped.
"Of course it is silly! You're our friend and you deserve the best!" Pinkie Pie squealed while jumping up and down.
"You are the best friend anypony can ask for," Fluttershy whispers as she finds the rest of her friends surrounding her, "All of you are!"
The Aftermath
Fluttershy drowsily walks home after all of the citizens of Ponyville celebrated her birthday. The walk back seemed longer than usual, however, she knew in her heart and soul that even though the way home was a downer, she had the best day of her life!
"I wish I could keep living this amazing day." Fluttershy murmured to herself sleepily.
"You may not able to do that, but you'll remember this day forever that's for sure!" A mysterious voice grumbled.
"Who's there?!" Fluttershy screamed.
"You don't know me, but I've come from the future to give you a warning. Watch your back, you have no idea what lurks in the shadows." The voice answered grimly.
"Can you at least tell me what ponies call you?" Fluttershy questioned
"They call me The Doctor." The voice whispered and without another second passing, he was gone.
Baffled, Fluttershy walked into the comfort of her cottage and thought about what "The Doctor" had said. She did agree that she didn't know what lurks in the shadows but she knew that something was destined to happen, good or bad. Either way, Fluttershy vowed not to be too close to any shadows just to be on the safe side.
That fateful evening when the sky was dreary and the town was void of life, Fluttershy walked the empty roads. Rain was pouring down like the entire world was crying with her. That day, she had lost her beloved pet Angel to a rabid wolf. The entire town of Ponyville mourned with her for her lost pet. To her, he was more than just a pet; he was her son. She raised him from birth like he was her very own. Suddenly, she heard rustling in the bushes behind her. They were covered by a long, dark shadow, which Fluttershy vowed never to touch.
A small fawn crawled out from under the bush and stared up at Fluttershy curiously. Ignoring the darkness, Fluttershy confidently strode forward and picked up the young fawn. It whimpered and dug it's head into Fluttershy's mane. Swiftly as a lightning bolt, she flew home and tried to find out what had happened to the fawn.
After a slight interrogation, Fluttershy found out that the fawns mother was also killed by a wolf and was now an orphan. She now understood The Doctor's warning, he wanted her to find the fawn! That very moment, Fluttershy's vision blurred and she fell onto the cold, hard ground. Colors shifted and she saw an image start to form. A pony walked by the bush and grabbed the fawn instead of Fluttershy herself. The pony walked along and threw the fawn down a cliff and said "Only the strongest survive!" And it walked away.
Dazed, Fluttershy jumped off of her floor and found the fawn fast asleep on her couch, where Angel used to sleep. She nudged awake the sleeping fawn and whispered to it, "Don't fear, I'll be here. I won't leave you my little ray of hope!" They immediately sparked a bond that begun the age of Fluttershy the pony and Hope the fawn!
