Summer had hit PonyVille full on by now, and the ponies either sat inside trying to stay cool, or they were at Sugar Cube Corner having a nice cool shake. Princess Twilight Sparkle was walking around town with Spike going over a checklist, which to Spike, was no concern as he went over the list for the preparations for an upcoming event.
"Well, that completes the list for the 10th time." Spike announced a little annoyed at how many times a checklist has to be re read over and over.
"Oh, Spike, don't be so annoyed. I just want to make sure everything goes according to plan." The Princess had picked up on his voice tone and tried to relax him. "Because, for some reason, all of our checklists and plans somehow get messed up in this crazy town a lot right before an event."
"You can say that again." He said, as he remembered about a year ago with the Summer Sun Celebration.
They continued to walk through the streets past multiple shops when Pinkie Pie, as she usually does, popped up out of no where and kicked in with her usual ADHD attitude.
"Oh, hey Twilight! How goes the planning? Do you have balloons? Is there going to be cake? Because I love balloons and cake and they always make a party the best!" The pink pony was hyper, and jumping up and down excitedly.
"Wow, Pinkie you are super excited and actually I have a favor to ask!" Twilight smiled as she watched her friend jump up and down.
"Oooh, oooh, what is it?" She somehow slowed down as if she had breaks before she touched her hooves to the ground.
"I actually am putting you in charge of the balloons and cake." The Princess handed her a list of the cakes and balloon types. "Now please foll-" She was cut short by Pinkie running away from her yelling.
"I'M ON IT!"
After a quick shake at Sugar Cube Corner, Spike and Twilight walked to the center of town to meet the mayor to make the special announcement. Twilight seemed relieved that she had found Pinkie Pie and sent her off, she had already told the other 4 friends what their tasks were.
As they approached the middle of town the Mayor came out and greeted them both.
"Twilight Sparkle, such an honor to see you and your lovely assistant Spike! All the other ponies are gathered on the other side of the building. Please follow me."
When they continued walking, Spike was muttering to himself about being complemented a lovely assistant, while Twilight just rolled her eyes and gave a small smirk. They arrived where Twilight took the podium.
"Fillies and Gentle Colts! It is with my great honor that I announce our first ever annual event of PonyVille Days!" She stopped as excited yells and the ponies stomped their hooves on the ground. "We will be inviting tons of special pony guests from around Equestria, some Including our lovely Princess Celestia, the Wonderbolts and more! There will be tons of fun for the little ones and lots of food and events like races, fireworks, music and more. All this will be taking place in a week. Thank you for listening and we hope to see you all there!" She finished with a big smile on her face to all the cheers and stomping of the hooves.
As she left the stand Rainbow Dash greeted her.
"Hey Twilight, I am so super stoked for this party. It is going to be so awesome!" She squeezed her face to make a funny, but rather cute looking face.
"Heh, I'm glad Rainbow! I'm also happy that you will be in charge of the weather for the event!" Twilight said as she continued walking back to the castle.
"Well the weather is easy, I just want to make sure I can help with my hooves if there is something to do, I mean I never leave a pony hangin." Rainbow smiled.
"I've already organized the teams Rainbow, but if anything comes up I will let you know." Twilight replied.
"Okay, thanks!" She flew off to the other end of PonyVille to talk to some other ponies.
Her and Spike reached the castle and entered.
"Well Spike, let's call it a night and hit the hay." Twilight yawned.
And with that both went to their beds and fell asleep peacefully.
