Chapter 20: One Magical Surprise

4 Weeks Later - Ponyville

After returning from a wonderful and romantic honeymoon, Celestia and Twilight assumed their royal duties. While it was exhausting, mostly for Twilight who was trying to get the hang of being a princess, they both worked through it. However, one day, a amazing thing happened that will change Celestia and Twilight's lives forever.

It was early in the morning and Twilight Sparkle was busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast for her and Celestia. Twilight decided to wake Celestia up, considering she was still sleeping at the time Twilight got up, and get herself and Celestia ready for the rest of the day. "Wakey Wakey Tia!" Twilight exclaimed. "I made you some of your...." Twilight then stopped and saw that Celestia wasn't in the bed. Twilight began to ponder where her wife could be, when the silence was broken from a noise coming from the bathroom. Twilight rushed to see what the noise was and was shocked to see it was locked. Twilight pressed her ear on the bathroom door and heard what sounded like someone was barfing. Twilight then used her magic to unlock the door and, once inside, was shocked to find Celestia kneeling down near the toilet, with a sickening look on her face.

Twilight rushed over to her wife and said, "Oh my Faust! Celestia, are you alright?" Celestia looked up at Twilight and said, "I'm fine now, but when I got up this morning...I felt very...woozy. My stomach was flaming like crazy and my temperature might have gone up." Twilight then placed her hand on Celestia's forehead and found that it was still a little warm. "Look, let's just get you back to bed." said Twilight with a worried tone in her voice. Celestia then stood up and said, "Twilight, I'm fine. It was just a little morning sickness, nothing to worry about." "Alright Celestia. But if this problem continues, I'm taking you to the doctor. You got that!" said Twilight sternly. Celestia then Pinkie Promised and her and Twilight went down to eat some breakfast, but Twilight continued to worry over her wife's health.

A couple of days had past, but Twilight's worries grew as Celestia continued to have stomach problems and was still throwing up in the morning. After the 8th morning, Twilight made an appointment for Celestia with Doctor Stable to check to see if Celestia was OK. The day before Celestia's appointment, Twilight was hanging out with her friends at Sugarcube Corner, who were all discussing Celestia's constant morning sickness.

"I don't know girls, I just hope Celestia is alright." Twilight said dishearteningly. Rainbow Dash then said, "C'mon Twilight, Celestia's been in tougher situations than this." "I agree Twilight," Applejack replied, "the princess ain't gonna let an upset stomach be her downfall." Twilight sighed and said, "Thanks girls for the encouraging words." "No prob Twi!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Still, I'm still hopeful it's nothing serious." Twilight said as she laid her head on the table. "Or Celestia is having a baby!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed cheerfully. Everyone then stared at Pinkie Pie awkwardly. "What?" Pinkie Pie said confusingly. "Pinkie Pie," said Applejack, "that has got to be one of the silliest things ya'll ever said." "But it could be true. I mean..." But before Pinkie Pie could finish, Twilight placed her finger and said, "Look Pinkie, I don't think that morning sickness is enough to prove that a woman is pregnant.....but I'll make a mental note of that....if your right of course."

The Next Day - Ponyville Hospital

Twilight and Celestia sat in the hospital waiting room silently, both with worried looks on their faces. Twilight then smiled at her wife, to make her feel a bit more chipper. Celestia smiled back, but with a hint of her worries still within her. Suddenly, the silence was broken by Nurse Redheart, who led the princesses to Doctor Stable's office.

Once inside, Doctor Stable ushered them to his desk. After shaking his hand, Twilight began to explain Celestia's constant morning sickness. "Hmm, that's interesting." said Doctor Stable. He then looked at Celestia and said, "Excuse me your majesty, but I'm going to need a urine sample." Both Celestia and Twilight looked at each other confusingly and then looked back at Doctor Stable. "We don't understand, why do you need a urine sample?" Twilight said confusingly. "I have a hunch, but I need to make sure my hunch is correct." said Doctor Stable.

So after an hour, Celestia managed to give Doctor Stable a urine sample and he told them to come back the next day for the test results. After saying their goodbyes, Celestia looked at Twilight with a worrying look as they walked out of the hospital. Twilight then gave her wife an encouraging smile and said, "What ever is wrong with you, we will get through it together." The two princesses hugged and walked back home happily.

One Day Later

Celestia and Twilight were once again in Doctor Stable's office, awaiting the results of the tests done on Celestia's urine sample. "Well Doc," Twilight said with a shaky voice, "give it to us straight. Is Celestia going to be alright?" Doctor Stable smiled and said, "She's going to be fine Princess." Both Celestia and Twilight sighed in relief, until Doctor Stable said, "In fact, she's more than fine." Twilight and Celestia looked at him with confusion and Celestia asked, "Whatever do you mean Doctor?" Doctor Stable smiled and said, "Well, when I was doing tests, I noticed an increase of hGC...I think you two know the rest."

Twilight and Celestia then gave puzzled looks at each other, when suddenly, they both had shocked expressions on their faces. Twilight then turned to Doctor Stable and said, "C-Can it be...is Celestia..." Doctor Stable laughed and said, "Congratulations your majesties. Your going to be parents!" Twilight gasped loudly and Celestia placed her hand on her mouth. Tears then started to run down their faces as Twilight hugged Celestia. "I can't believe it! We're going to have a baby!" Twilight said happily. "Thank you for telling us Doctor!" said Celestia. "No problem Princesses. I only hope to see you both again in the coming months." Doctor Stable said cheerfully. Twilight then replied, "You can bet on that!" They then both shook his hand and said their goodbyes and made their way home.

A Couple of Hours Later - Castle of Friendship

Twilight's friends all sat at the Cutie Map, waiting for Twilight and Celestia to come in and tell them some really important news. "Gosh darn it, this is just like when Twilight was planning to ask Celestia to marry her, where is she?" Rainbow Dash said impatiently. "Hush up Rainbow, I'm pretty sure Twilight an' Celestia are doin' something important." said Applejack. "Well, from the letters they sent, it seems really really really really REALLY important!" Pinkie Pie said in her bubbly way. "Oh my...I hope it's nothing bad health wise." Fluttershy said in a worrying way. "Don't worry Fluttershy, If it was something that bad, Twilight and Celestia would have told us." Rarity said in a reassuring tone.

After a while of waiting, the doors behind them opened and Twilight and Celestia walked in, with smiles on their faces. The Mane Five looked the two princesses and began asking questions about why they were call to them. Celestia then put her hand up and all of them went silent. Twilight cleared her throat and said, "Well, as you all know, me and Celestia went back to the doctor's today and...well...you tell them Celly." The Mane Five looked at them awkwardly until Celestia said, "Well...me and Twilight...are going to have a baby." The room went silent, until Pinkie Pie shouted, "A BABY!!!!! THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY GIRLS!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!" After Pinkie's outburst, the 5 other girls walked up to the two princesses and began to either congratulate them and discussing baby stuff.

"Well dang," said Applejack, "Your the first to get married, now your the first of all of us to start a family Twi." "You sure your not trying to pull something Twilight." said Rainbow Dash questionably. Suddenly Rarity bonked Rainbow Dash and Applejack on the head and said, "Girls, how rude. I for one am happy for Twilight and Celestia. Ooh, I can't wait to start designing baby clothes for the little boy or girl!" Pinkie Pie, meanwhile, was still bouncing off the walls, until she stopped and began thinking up ideas for the next nine months of parties for Twilight and Celestia. Fluttershy then walked up and gave the princesses a huge hug and said, "I'm so happy for you I could just yell in excitement!" Fluttershy then proceeded to yell at a soft volume, followed by a squeak coming out from her as she backed away in embarrassment. Twilight and Celestia then looked at each other and smiled warmly.

Later That Night

We find Twilight laying in bed reading a book, when she hears Celestia walking upstairs into their bedroom. Twilight closed the book and placed it on her dresser, when Celestia entered the room holding a scroll. Twilight then asked, "Say Celestia, who sent you that scroll?" "I wrote to Luna about my pregnancy and let's just say...well....go ahead and read it." Twilight then grabbed the scroll, opened it and began reading it. It said:

To my dear sister,

First and for most...I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!! Secondly, I'm very happy for you and Twilight. From your experience teaching Twilight when she was a little girl Celestia, I'm sure your going to be a great mother, same with Twilight of course (but I would consider Twilight to be the father in the relationship.)

In non baby stuff, Canterlot is doing pretty fine. No unrests (yet....), everything is in line. So yea, nothing else to talk about.
I hope I get to see you both again soon.

P.S. I hope you tell Mother and Father and Twilight's Parents soon, cause the news will notice your "baby bump" sooner or later.

Twilight laughed and said, "Luna's right, we should tell our parents sooner or later." Celestia then replied, "True that, but we will deal with that later." Twilight then said her good nights, and so did Celestia. As they drifted off to sleep, they both imagined being amazing parents to their child/children, also thing about the morrow when they tell their parents the amazing and magical news.

Don't worry, I'm still working on this story, but I'm going to take some breaks while writing the next few chapters until my writers block goes away.
