The story of the Dragon and the Demon!

"Hey, old man can you tell us another one!" A small child asked.

"Hum......Ah, what the hell why not! Ge-hahaha!" The strange man said looking at the small circle of children that surrounded him. At first the group was very small, but as time went on the group grew to the point were even grown adult's were listening to the strange newcomer tell story's about his adventures.

"Well, old timer!" Shouted an older man from across the street holding his mug up to get his attention. "Tell us *hic* a real good one!" The man said with a hic-up that showed how drunk he was.

"Well, high expectations huh? What story should I tell?" The Strange man said rubbing his chin. "OH! I have the perfect story!" He said with a smile. "This is the story of a boy I meet a long time ago, It's been years since I've seen him, but he was very powerful! Ge-hahaha!" He said with his strange laugh.

This caught everyone's attention and they were all on the edge of their seat's to hear about this person and what he did that was so amazing.

"He had the strength to take down an army in a heart beat, He was fast enough to outrun even the fastest flyers, And most of all..." The strange man said listing this person's amazing feats, It had everyone completely blown away. "HE FARTED SO LOUD ONE TIME THAT HE ACTUALLY WOKE UP A DRAGON! GE-HAHAHAHA!" The strange man said with his laugh which caused everyone else to fall over in completely dumbfounded confusion.

"Badlands"

It was a normal day in the dry and empty badlands. Here there was hardly any rain and because of the harsh weather conditions there are hardly any settlers, The most you would find here are some bandits and maybe a few traveling merchants. However there is one rock formation that sticks out in the desert it, is nicknamed "The Watchers Tower" because there is a rumor that a demon watches you if you pass by there. The truth is there is more truth to that than people realize.

"Ugh.....why is it I have to tag along every time you have to go hunting?" Asked a Tiny girl who had a matching tiny beach umbrella and a sun mirror. "You hear me, Zeno? ZENO!" she said looking over at her companion who was snoring loudly.

The young man was around the age of 17 and had Bright red hair, he wore a muscle shirt that clung to his upper torso and showed his stomach. He also wore a pair of pure white baggy pants with bare feet.

"Honestly, How you sleep like that Is beyond me." She said as she got off her tiny foldable chair and snapped her fingers and all the item's she was using before vanished in a poof of pink smoke. Next she flew over to her sleeping friend and snapped her finger's again. Suddenly a frying pan appeared and landed right on Zeno's face which caused him to bolt forward holding his face to comfort the pain.

"OW! WHAT THE HECK RAMIE!" Zeno shouted getting in her face which only caused her to give him an odd look.

"What? You know that's the only way to wake you up sometime's." Ramie said putting her hands on her hip's.

"Jeez! You fairy's and you're magic." Zeno mumbled as rubbed his sleepy eye's. "Ok! now then let's get the meat and head back to the village!" He shouted getting to his feet and started doing stretches.

"Took you long enough! we've been here for an hour and a half now." Ramie said sweat dropping at her air-headed friend. "Honestly sometimes I worry about him."

"Detail's, Now let's get to work!" Zeno said jumping off the platform and fell straight to the ground with an explosion of desert sand, As Zeno got his footing he looked around the empty desert and waited.

After a few minutes of waiting there was a sudden rumbling under the desert sand, suddenly 3 large scaled Lizards rose from the sand. Each Lizard had a pale yellow color to blend into the desert sand, They had rows of razor-sharp teeth and claws that could tear into there pray easily.

Zeno cracked his knuckles and got a cheeky grin looking at the three hungry Beasts and licked his lips. "I know you're hungry and all, but I've got a village to feed here. And let's be totally honest here, do you really think you three can eat me?" He asked as he pointed at the trio of monsters.

The answer however was the largest of the beasts lunging at Zeno who jumped clean over the lizard and punched the beast in the neck which caused the beast spine to snap and hit the ground with a loud thud with it's eye's vacant of any life.

"Well can't say I didn't try." Zeno said brushing his hands.

As He turned around another Lizard launched forward with it's jaws wide open and tried to completely devour him. As its jaw's snapped closed Zeno used his hands to stop it from crushing him by grabbing it's teeth keeping the beasts jaws open. much to the surprise of the Giant Lizard who tried to apply more force only to feel it's body being lifted up and being tossed. Suddenly Zeno vanished from sight only to appear on top of the Lizard with his right leg lifted up.

"You know I really didn't want to get Violent, but you guy's don't get the hint!" Zeno said as he jumped from the Lizards back and started spinning.

"DRAGON STYLE: FALLING ANCHOR!" Zeno shouted as his foot made contact with the giant Lizard who was slammed back down into the desert with enough force to leave a sizable crater. As Zeno landed on the desert sand he looked at the last of the Lizards who was now fully aware that he didn't stand a chance, it then started digging into the desert sand till it vanished completely.

"Thank goodness! I didn't want three Desert Lizard's." Zeno said as he grabbed the Lizards tail and started dragging it out of the crater.

"Jeez Zeno, I almost feel bad for these guys, considering your freakish superhuman strength and all." Ramie said flying over to Zeno's said and sitting on his shoulder.

"But what's the deal? It looked like you really used your full strength on these guys today." She asked flying over to the Giant Desert Lizard.

"I don't know Ramie. I guess I'm a little tired of this routine, I mean the only real competition I've ever had was Locken and the old man. I really just want a challenge you know?" Zeno said as he leaned on the stomach of the desert Lizard, who let out a gurgle only for Zeno to slam his fist into its stomach silencing it.

"Come on Zeno we live in a secret oasis were or village has been for a thousand years. That isn't gonna change anytime soon." Ramie said getting in Zeno's face who only looked bored.

"Yeah, yeah, let's just get this back to the village." Zeno said as he pulled out a whistle and blew only for it not to make a sound. However in the far distance there was a trail of dust heading straight for the pair only to stop directly in front of them blowing sand all over them.

"Jeez! Rover maybe next time stop a little sooner! Ugh, I got sand in my suit." Ramie said trying to get the sand out of her Fairy outfit.

"It's what you get for wearing that thing. I mean come on Ramie it looks like a swimsuit." Zeno said giving his fairy companion a flat stair.

"HEY! IT'S NOT MY FAULT THE GRAND FAIRY DOESN'T HAVE ANY STYLE!" Ramie shouted which caused Zeno to hold his ears.

"Ok, ok Ramie....jeez, you know for a fairy you sure can be loud sometimes." Zeno said digging in his ear, which Ramie only puffed her cheeks and turned away. "Anyways.....Rover! mind helping us out here?" He asked looking at the Hugh Canine who already had the desert Lizards on his back.

"Whoops." Ramie said sweat dropping at the canine who waited patiently for the two to climb on board. As Zeno and Ramie hopped on his back they got comfortable and looked up at the calm desert sky.

"Do you ever think will see something beyond this desert sky Ramie?" Zeno asked as Rover started running back to the village.

"Listen, I know this is kind of dull for you and all seeing on how your so strong and adventurous and what not. " Ramie said trying to give her friend some hope for the future.

"But I don't think we need to go looking for adventure. Just give it time." Ramie said as she sat down on Zeno's chest.

Zeno only continued to look at the sky and slowly closed his eye's. 'I really hope so Ramie.'

"Desert oasis: Tergaron Village"

The secret Oasis is a legend where over a thousand years ago there was a group of traveling Demons who went to towns all over the equestrian nation and stole the souls of anyone who they saw. However thanks to Celestia the deity of the sun, the demons were sent to a secret oasis where they could never bother another village ever again. This secret oasis was named Tergaron and was rumored that any human who entered the demons domain who'd be eaten alive. The truth, however, is A LOT different.

"Hey everybody Zeno's back!" Shouted a young child who had horn's sprouting out of his head.

This caught everyone in the village's attention and they all raced to the center of town were two large desert Lizards were laying around. Zeno was talking with all the villagers who were thanking him for his hard work.

"What took you so long!" shouted one woman as she walked out from the crowd. She had emerald green hair and had three eyes that focused on the young man in front of her. She wore a simple dull colored dress and was wearing a solid  apron.

"Sorry mom." Zeno said rubbing the back of his head. suddenly he was tackled to the ground by a small purple and gray blur. As Zeno opened his eye's he saw a small girl with tiny bat wings and purple hair that went down her back, and a small boy with dull grey hair and long pointy ears look up at him with big smiles.

"YO BIG BRO!" they said in unison as they gave their brother a big hug, Zeno only got up and pulled the two off and held each one by the collar and gave them a blank stare.

"Just because I'm your brother doesn't mean you can take more of the meat. It's for everyone in the village, you hear me?" Zeno said putting the two down as the stuck their tongues at him and ran off.

"You would think they would learn by now." came the voice of man a standing next to Zeno, which caused him to jump at his sudden appearance.

"Warn me next time you do that!" Zeno said looking at the man. He had dull shaggy hair with large almost comically oversized horns on his head. He was a very scrawny man with hardly any muscle at all, he also wore a red Red vest and brown shorts.

"why would I do that? It's not like I'm gonna do anything to my own son you know." Zeno's father said with a weak grin.

"Yeah, sure......" Zeno said looking at the man. After a few minutes of handing out food rations to the village, most of the desert Lizard meat was gone and everyone went back to their regular routines.

"Well, that's done." Ramie said resting on Zeno's shoulder. "what should we do for the rest of the day?" She asked looking around the village.

"Not sure really....... wanna look for Locken?" Zeno asked as he started walking down the street.

Before She could answer a one eyed man wearing a business suit ran up to Zeno breathing heavily showing that he probably ran all the way over.

"Excuse me mister Zeno, but the mayor would like to speak with you." The cyclops said after finally getting catching his breath.

"Really? Why?" Zeno asked giving him an odd look.

"I'm not sure myself, but it sounds really important!" The cyclops said waving his arms around. "Also miss Ramie I believe the Grand Fairy wants to speak with you as well." he said as he pulled out a tiny letter and handed it to the Fairy.

"Ok well I guess, well go see what's up then. Are they both at the head office?" Ramie asked.

"Yes, mam! They are waiting for the both of you." The cyclops said before taking a bow and started walking away.

The two only shrugged their shoulders and followed the man to the upper part of the village where the mayor's office was. When they finally made it the man open the door and held it open for the two.

"I'm not allowed inside while your talking with the mayor please go inside, They are in the office on the fourth door to the left." The cyclops said as he held the door open.

Zeno and Ramie went inside and went straight to the mayor's office and walked inside to see an older women sitting behind a desk waiting for the two to enter.

The fairy was sitting on the edge of her desk, he was a big guy for being a fairy and he had a flowing white beard with a simple  loincloth.

"Good afternoon you two." the mayor said in a smooth voice looking at the young man in front of her. As Zeno closed the door he walked over and took a seat at one of the chairs that the mayor had in front of her desk and raised his eyebrow.

"So what's going on?" Zeno asked as he looked at the mayor in confusion.

"I get straight to the point, Zeno you know that you're different from everyone in the village correct?" The mayor asked as she pointed her cane at Zeno who pushed out of the way.

"Yeah.....I'm different because I'm a human." Zeno said raising an eyebrow to her question. "why does that matter?" he asked crossing his arms.

"It matters because.......or village is facing a crisis Zeno." The mayor said as she stood up from her seat and walked over to the window and looked at the villagers go about their daily routines.

"A crisis?" Ramie asked doubtfully. "Like what? I don't see anything different lately." she said pointing out into the street.

"The crisis hasn't been seen by the village yet, but I imagine it will fully sink in soon." The Grand fairy said slowly flying over to the two so they could both see him.

"Our village is located in an oasis hidden from the world with a magical spell that Celestia, the Princess of the sun put on this village one thousand years ago. However now the Oasis we have depended on for so long is drying up and our crops aren't coming in on time." The mayor said as she turned around and looked at the two with a serious expression.

"As a result people in the village are facing hunger strike's and business are starting to die out. Didn't you notice who many people were out at the market to get the supply's you brought back?" The grand fairy asked.

Zeno thought back to the town square where the villagers were lining up to get some of the Lizard meat he got earlier. "Now that you mention it there were a few more people than usual. Wait what does this mean?" Zeno asked as he started to realize the full situation.

"Ugh......in about two weeks the whole village will run out of the water from the oasis, and by the end of the month will run out of food. If the oasis dry's up then the magical barrier will vanish, leaving the whole village exposed to bandits and thieves." The mayor said as her face went pale as the thought of the village being destroyed.

Zeno and Ramie were completely dumbfounded at the information, the thought of their village that they grew up in being destroyed horrified them. Zeno was clenching his fists so hard that he was starting to bleed while Ramie could hold her hand over her mouth with fear in her face.

"I see you two understand the situation were in." The grand fairy said as he landed on the mayor's desk, which the mayor took her seat and looked at the two.

"ISN'T THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO! WE CANT JUST SIT HERE AND WAIT TO DIE!" Zeno shouted as he slammed his fist into the desk leaving an imprint, tears started welling up in his eyes which he quickly wiped away. "I grew up in this village..........it means everything to me! Everyone here took me in when I was just a baby, even though I was a human!" he said as he kept his face hidden.

The mayor could smile with pride at the young man. "I know and we were all a little against it before. However, you proved how much you love this village and everyone in it." The mayor said as she walked around and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Which is why we're asking you both to help us now." The grand fairy said looking at the Zeno and Ramie.

"What can we do?" Ramie asked now fully alert.

"Zeno is by far the strongest warrior in the village, and Ramie you have the most amount of experience outside the village." The mayor said as she walked back over to her desk and opened a drawer and pulling out a slip of paper with an odd symbol on it. "We need you two to travel to the capital of Equestria and give Princess Celestia this paper and tell her what's happening here. Maybe then she can find a way to save our village." she said passing the paper to Zeno.

"The capital? were's that?" Zeno asked holding the paper in his hand looking it over.

"Canterlot, that is the capital. It's east from here once you reach The Watchers Rock." The grand fairy said stroking his beard.

"But I've heard word recently that the princess will be heading to a town for some kind of celebration. It's not far from the capital and it would be easier to head there first." he said as he snapped his fingers and a map of Equestria appeared in front of the two and then shrank to be given to Ramie.

"Oh, I see it now! You marked it in red right Grand fairy?" Ramie asked looking at her elder who only nodded his head.

"This map is enchanted with an ability to show you a straight path to the town." The grand fairy said as he looked at Zeno with a stern expression. "Zeno are you willing to take on this responsibility? This isn't gonna be like your trips into the Badlands, are you sure your ready?" He asked as Zeno stood up with a determined look on his face.

"You know me guys! I hate to lose! There's no way in hell I'll fail! I'll save the village no matter what!" Zeno shouted as he cracked his knuckles.

"Thank you Zeno........this village.......is forever in your debt." The mayor said as she bowed to Zeno who could only laugh which startled her.

"Don't sweat it! But....... I never said I was doing this for free." Zeno said with a cheeky grin which Ramie flew up and rested on his shoulder copying his expression.

"We do this......You have to give us whatever we want no questions about it. Sound good?" Ramie said giving off a weird aura and started chuckling.

The mayor could only start laughing at the two. "If you do this then you can have whatever you want." She said between her laughing fit. "And here I thought he had a Heart of Gold. Ha!"

"Alright, Ramie!" Zeno said throwing his fist in the air. "LET'S GO ON A ADVENTURE!!" He shouted as he bolted out the door and down the street with Ramie right behind him.

"Do you think he'll be ok?" The mayor asked watching the two.

"All I can say is that they have a long journey ahead of them." The grand fairy said copying the mayor and watched one of his little fairy's fly around with the young man.

"Honestly if Gawain hadn't brought that kid here We probably would facing a real problem right now." The mayor said as she sat at her desk and picked up and an old photo of her when she was younger with a white-haired man with a big grin on his face giving a thumbs up.

"It's all up to fate now. Let's hope for the best." she said laying the picture down.

"Zeno's house"

Zeno took half and hour to explain to his folks that he would be leaving for the big world to find this Celestia, and from their expression on their faces they were less than pleased.

"So now you have to go Find this princess to help save the Village?" Mom asked as she crossed her arms.

"Hey, Keri what's a Princess?" Zeno's little brother asked Keri, Zeno's little sister.

"Ugh, honestly Lu I thought you would know that at least." Keri said as she and Lu got into a conversation on what constitutes a princess, Zeno's mother, on the other hand, was getting pissed.

"Now honey there's no need to get angry." Dad said trying to keep his wife calm.

"NOT NOW!"Mom said slamming her fist on the table which scared pretty much everyone in the house.

"what are we gonna do with you gone. Honestly why you? I mean I get that you're stronger than everyone in the village, but still......" she trailed off as she looked at Zeno and Ramie.

"well, there isn't much of a point in trying to stop him now." Dad said as he put a hand on his wife's shoulder and looked at Zeno with his weak smile. "Your gonna go whether we agree or not right?" he asked as everyone was focused on him.

"All my life I've lived in this village. I love everyone in it, there's no way I could stand back and watch as it falls apart!" Zeno said clinching his fists.

"Then that's, that! You're heading out right away right?" Dad asked with a knowing smile which Zeno's only response was a nod. "Then get going!" He said as Zeno ran to his room to pack as Lu and Kari followed him.

"I could have handled that." Mom said not looking at her husband who could only straighten his glasses.

"You and I both knew that someday he would want to go see the world, who are we to keep him away from that." Dad said watching as Zeno was talking to his siblings.

As Zeno packed his bag full of the things he would need Keri and Lu were waiting outside his door with worried expressions, Zeno seeing them turned around and got on one knee to be on their level gave both of them a hug.

"Were are you going?" Kari asked looking at Zeno.

"When are you coming back?" Lu asked with a few tears in his eyes.

Zeno gave the two off them a warm smile and proceeded to hold the both of them by their cheeks........ and then slammed them together, which caused the two to fall over holding their heads.

"Listen that crap may work on those guys in the village but I'm your brother! I'm not gonna fall for that, you two just want me to bring back some snacks for Lu and some souvenirs for you Keri, am I right?" Zeno asked with a less than amused expression.

"Damn He saw through us!" Lu said as he scrambled to his feet.

"Well if your acting didn't suck so much, maybe he wouldn't have caught on so quickly!" Kari said grinding her teeth together.

"Listen you two." Zeno said grabbing their attention. "I need the two of you to look over the town while I'm gone. Locken is gonna do the hunting, but I need you guys to make sure he doesn't get a big head over it, Ok?" Zeno said as he stood up and walked over to the door.

"You can count on us!" The two said in unison as they clicked their heels together while giving a solute.

"Glad to hear soldiers."Zeno said as he made his way downstairs. As he gave his parents one last goodbye Zeno walked over to the door and took a deep breath and opened the door.

"Ok..........LET'S GOOOOOO!!!" Zeno shouted as Ramie followed behind him as they ran out of the house and towards the village entrance.

"9 Hours later"

The Badlands are a place of constant danger, There are giant scorpions, Desert Lizards, Sand serpents, Bandits, and all kinds of things that would love to see people dead. However the most dangerous of all these things is dehydration, This is the most common thing many who try and cross this desert face as a problem. Nowhere is this truer than with the two trying to cross the desert right now.

"WHAT DO MEAN THERE'S NO WATER LEFT!!!" Zeno shouted as felt the sun beating down on him.

"I MEAN THERE'S NONE LEFT!! IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU TRYING TO RUN THE HOLE WAY THERE, WE WOULDN'T BE HERE RIGHT NOW!" Ramie shouted as she two was starting to feel the sun fry her little brain.

"IT'S SO EASY TO BLAME SOMEBODY ELSE ISN'T IT!" Zeno shouted as he got up in Ramie's face.

"WELL IF THE SHOE FITS!!!!!!!" Ramie shouted copying Zeno and the two started pushing each other back and forth.

However unknown by Zeno and Ramie, in the distance a small Desert rider was approaching the two and from the sound of things they were shouting as well.

"DAMMIT!!! SAND SHARKS!!" screamed one of the men as their sand sled was being chased down by a school of sand sharks.

"HOW THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN!!!" Screamed another man as he got into the fetal position.

"HELP US IRON BRO!!!" screamed the group as they were about to be eaten.

"Ugh.......Should we help them?" Zeno asked looking at the group sail around in circles.

"Probably. If only to shut them UP!!!!!" Ramie said as she folded her arms.

Zeno started sprinting toward the Sand sled and jumped up and was directly on top of the Colony of Sand sharks. Zeno brought both of his fists up and started punching in rapid succession to the point where his punches started moving so fast that it started to look like a blur.

"DRAGON STYLE: RAMPAGE!!!!" Zeno shouted as he let an entire sea of fists come raining down on the sand sharks destroying them.

"There it's over will you guys STOP SCREAMING!!" Zeno shouted. As the men in front of him were

'After 45 minutes'

"CHEERS!"Zeno and the group of men from before cheered as they slammed their Cider down.

"Man kidI can't believe you beat a whole school of sand sharks!" one of the men said as he took a bite of meat from the spread in front of everyone.

"That was nothing! Hahaha!" Zeno said as he and the rest of the group of strangers laughed and cheered. Ramie, on the other hand, was glaring daggers at Zeno.

'I can't believe that idiot! We just met these people and he's acting all buddy-buddy with them!' Ramie clenched her fist just waiting for Zeno to turn around so she could slug him only for a much larger man to get up out of the corner of the Sand sled and sit right next to Zeno.

"Yo Iron bro it's about time you woke up! where were you earlier Huh!?" one of the men shouted at the large man.

As Zeno got a better look at him he could see that he was much bigger than him. he had no hair to speak of and Gunmetal gray eye's that pierced right through him.

"Who's the kid?" The large man asked glaring at Zeno.

Zeno could only laugh and give a cocky smile."My names Zeno!" He said as he gave a thumb's up.

"Zeno huh? Well, judging by how you were able to defeat a magic beast like a Sand shark could only mean you're very strong." The large man said, picking up a mug of cider.

"Yup! I'm stronger than anyone else in my village!" Zeno said puffing his chest out.

"And what village is that?" The large man asked, with a raised eyebrow.

"Tergaron Village." Zeno said as he went back to the food.

The large man's pupils shrank after hearing were this strange kid came from. The other men didn't seem to notice and they went back to their party.

The large man took a second to collect his thoughts and looked over to Zeno with a focused stare."Juzaro is my name." he said.

"So where are you heading kid?" One of the men asked as the others stopped there drinking.

"well I--OWOWOW!" Zeno said before Ramie pulled him to the side.

"Listen to me you moron! I really don't wanna burst your bubble! But these guys are bad news!" Ramie said trying to keep the others from hearing her.

"Come on Ramie! what's the worst that can happen?" Zeno said as he walked back to the group. Ramie could only facepalm at Zeno's lack of common sense.

"Well were heading east of here to a little town where we are looking for someone important. So if you wouldn't mind could you guys take me and my friend as close as you can to the town it would be a huge help!" Zeno said, with a grin.

"The town you're heading to, It wouldn't happen to be Ponyville would it." Juzaro said catching Zeno's attention.

"Yup That's the one!" Zeno said as the rest of the groups jaws dropped.

"WHAT!!!!" They screamed in unison.
