Every shelf, every wall and every single tile of the floor was caked in the thick, grey dust. Spiders webs caved corners in and star spiders scurried about the floor. Rubble and the remaining ruins laid on the floor, waiting for somepony to move them. ''T-Twi, w-why...are we here again...? It's spooky.....'' mumbled Fluttershy, in her meek, timid voice. Her hooves almost went out on her as she past the giant, alicorn statue that laid, lopsided on the floor. The fallen statue's eyes pierced through her. The pegasus freaked a little at the 'look' and flapped her wings, leading her to eventually hover above the earth. ''The castle needs renovating....and we choose to move in smaller groups because we could cover more land, Pinkie and Rainbow are down in the corridors below the castle that lead to the armory. And Rarity and Applejack are cleaning the music rooms so we choose to do the library because it wasn't dark. Didn't we discuss this five times on the way here...or am I dreaming.'' said Twilight, walking over to Fluttershy to try and calm her frightened girlfriend down. As she reached the mare, something in the corner of her eyes moved. Green and slimy, with spots trailing over a rubber like body. Wings fluttered and a scream split the heavens above. Feathers fell, as huge purple wings sprouted open and left Twilight hovering high above the group, eyes wide. Her screams didn't cease, nor did her glare at the creature which had scared her. The rubber-bodied creature was a green snake, her worst nightmare. A whimper left her lips, the quiet, meek voice didn't suit her but she didn't seem to notice or care. ''Flutters, would you...please...'' ''If you can summon me a fish filled bucket, Twi.'' said Fluttershy, giggling at the sight. Twilight didn't say anything, she just grumbled and her horn began glowing, leaving a small bucket of fish on the floor near Fluttershy. The pegasus smiled, thanked Twilight, and left the room with the snake hot on her hooves. Twilight smiled in relief, picked up a feather duster that was resting on the floor nearby with her magic. She flapped her wings, taking to the sky with the dust. She hovered next to a couple of bookshelves that were the highest of the room, brushing the duster over each book and shelf at a time, till she eventually reach the last shelf on the world, a shimmer of light flickered in her eyes and drew her attention. Twilight blinked and flew over to the books, where the light emitted from. The light was coming from in between two books, that were resting on one another. The mare blinked once more and strained her eyes to see into the gap, catching sight of something silver. She reached her hoof into the gap, pulling some string out. The string was tied together at the end she was holding, meaning something was likely attached to it. She tugged on the spring where her magic, pulling something bright and silver out of the gap. The mare looked down at her hoof, which now had a silver pendent hanging from a string which was tied around her purple coat. She blinked as she looked at the shape of the pendent, it was weirdly a book. Sure, this was a library but still. Why would a book shaped pendent be in the Castle Of The Pony Sisters, unless it was magical. ''No...I must be overthinking this, it has to be a normal pendent. Maybe I should give this to Nyx...Maybe she'll like it.'' Fluttershy came in, just as Twilight said that. She blinked, looking up at her girlfriend to see her holding the pendent. She unfolded her wings and flew up to Twilight, with a curious look written on her face. Two small questions escaped her lips. ''What are you doing, Twi? And what is that pendent?'' Twilight glanced at her, surprised but she showed Fluttershy the pendent. ''Doesn't this look a bit strange to be in the castle....I mean, it looks perfectly normal...doesn't it?'' Fluttershy was about to say something, as her hoof reached out to gingerly touch the silver pendent out of curiosity. The mare's hooves touched briefly over the pendent, just as this small bit of contact happened, light shined from the pendent, surprising both mares. Twilight even gasped and smacked the pendent away from her, leaving it to fall and clatter onto the floor. The light flickered on and off for a moment, from the fall and crash, but it eventually regained itself and began changing, stretching and moving. The light formed something weird, as a small and faint sound rang clear from the air, the light pitter-patter that exist in the chest of everypony, a heartbeat. The sound even surprised the two mares, as they landed a safe distance from the changing pendent, Twilight even put a hoof over her chest in surprise. ''...A heartbeat?'' The pendent's finally finished it's forming process, and the object...or maybe thing would be a better word began moving as the light faded slowly away. Frail and weak, a small breathing filled the air as a foal's shape appeared from the glow. It was definitely a foal, no older then a couple of months no doubt. Surprise rang clear through Twilight's gasp, she was shocked to see such a small and young foal come from a weirdly shaped pendent. As for where the pendent was, it rested around the foal's neck as a shrill cry filled the mare's weak ears. As for the foal's appearance, it was cream in color, pale, sickly and only a couple of shades lighter then Fluttershy's coat. The foal's smooth and soft pink mane with it's single streak of purple that was at one side. Purple eyes shimmered, a small stub rested in her mane, a horn and a pair of feathered objects came from the foal's back. An alicorn foal?! The filly also wasn't wearing a diaper, so it's was quite obvious what gender the filly was, it was a filly. ''What the....'' mumbled Fluttershy, as she flew over to the crying infant. She tried rocking the small filly in her hooves, successively calming her down. Her small voice came out, with a calm, motherly voice. ''You were just scared, weren't you.'' Twilight, however, took a different direction. She didn't go to the filly, instead she flew up to try and find a book on this. Fluttershy cooed to the filly, then a suckling sound filled Twilight's ears. The alicorn blinked and turned to stare at Fluttershy. ''Flutters...what is that so-.'' The blush that filled her cheeks would have made Big Mac jealous. Fluttershy was hovering in the air, with the filly in her hooves with the filly's mouth on the mare's left nipple. She was smiling motherly, before asking. ''What is it, Twilight?'' ''W-why are you feeding her, like that!?'' ''She was hungry, and I couldn't find any milk...so...yeah. I'm a little surprise that it worked...as I'm not meant to be able to do this, but I guess it might be the fact that I believe she's our biological daughter....'' ''Biological....?'' mumbled Twilight, horn glowing as she checked through the books trying to find a relative answer to her questions. ''...How is she....'' The gloomy setting of the downstairs corridors spooked Rainbow Dash a little, as she stepped into them the first time. Pinkie shortly behind her. The pink pony bounces down the stairs, landing evenly on the floor, showing no fear. Rainbow looked back at the earth pony for a little moment, trying to figure out how she wasn't scared. ''Pinkie...why aren't you scared.'' A gasped rang through the air, cutting Rainbow's question. ''Dashie, Dashie. Lookie! Lookie! Rain indoors.'' ''It can't rain inside, Pinkie.'' said Rainbow, staring at what Pinkie presumed was a droplet of rain. It was just a rain drop shaped pendent which was silver. ''B-but...it's water...it's wet...'' mumbled Pinkie, trying to prove her point to the rainbow haired mane. She gave the pendent to Rainbow, pushing it literally into her hooves. Rainbow gasped in horror, as the wet feel filled her hoof, but the light emitted scared her more. It scared her, but it was worse for Pinkie, who bolted away, terrified. ''Pinkie!....'' cried Rainbow, before turning her vision back at the glowing object, which morphed and shifted into a foal-like shape. Pitter-patter came the shape's heartbeat. The sounds of flapping wings filled Rainbow's ears, as a small foal appeared from the dimming light. The foal's coat was the same color as her very own, cyan but with a slightly darker shade. The foal's mane was a fussy mess of pink, that reminded Rainbow's of Pinkie's and the filly's eyes were her magenta glow, the raindrop 'cutie mark' that rested on the filly's hoof was weird to say the least, and the feathered wings told Rainbow where the flapping came from. The mare almost instinctively picked the foal up, but she knew that it was only because she couldn't leave a newborn foal alone but she needed to find Pinkie Pie and quick. She quietly called out, as to not scare the foal that rested on her back. ''Pinkie Pie, where are you? Answer me, Pinkie.'' ''..R-Rainbow....Dashie....''' came a small cry, sobbing. Rainbow gasped upon hearing Pinkie's sobbing voice and bolted towards the source of the cries, which was the armory. Resting next to a sword, was a mare that Rainbow almost didn't recognize. The straightened mane and darkened coats colors surprised Rainbow to say the least, she wasn't expected Pinkie to get so frightened that this of all things would happened. Her voice came out soothingly. ''Pinkie, I'm here. Don't worry anymore. It's all okay.'' Rainbow's hooves wrapped around the dark pink mare, Pinkie wasn't herself at that point in time and didn't register that she was being hug for quite some time. When she did, her coat colors bounced back but her mane stayed flattened. ''...D-Dashie, t-that light scared me...I didn't know rain could glow......but then when I....found myself here...with nowhere to go....I got scared, Dashie...don't leave me alone...every again please...'' Pinkie looked down for a middle, to make a decision before closing her eyes and launching herself at Rainbow, pressing her lips on the other mare. Their lips touching sent shivers through Rainbow's spine, she hadn't expected Pinkie to kiss her. When they finally parted, breathing slightly uneven. ''P-Pinkie...w-what was that for?'' ''...I-I...love you, Dashie. I think I always have, since the day we met!'' said the pink mare, before her gaze finally landed on Rainbow's back and the foal that rested there. ''I didn't know we brought a foal with us, is she yours, Dashie. Please tell me she's not...I wanted your first child, I wanted to parent it.'' ''Pinkie, this foal was made by that light that scared you. I don't know where he or she came from but we need to get it to Twilight. She can tell us what's going on. All I know at the moment is, that when we touched with the pendent between our hooves, that light somehow merged our blood and created it, see he or she's wearing the pendent you found.'' said Rainbow, showing Pinkie the pendent that rested around the pegasus foal's neck. ''Are you saying that's this foal is our child?'' asked Pinkie, curiously as she picked up the foal carefully. ''Yeah, by the way...is it a filly...or a colt....'' said Rainbow, blushing. Pinkie giggled a little at Rainbow's cuteness and looked with a faint blush covering her cheeks. The foal wasn't wearing a diaper, which was quite risky in the case of accidents. Pinkie knew she would need to get a diaper on the foal as soon as possible. ''She's a filly, Dashie. But she needs a diaper.'' said Pinkie, as her hair got it's curl back. The mare scanned around the room and was surprised to find a piece of cloth. ''This will do.'' She tightened it around the filly's once bare flanks, it wasn't prefect but it would protect her till they got back to Ponyville. ''We need to get to Twilight, Pinkie. So she can tell us where the foal came from.'' said Rainbow, waiting at the door for Pinkie. The bored expression on her face said it all, she didn't even need to speak. ''Coming. Lets go, Conny!'' cried Pinkie, as she threw confetti from Celestia knows where around. Rarity was sat on a piano seat, filing her hooves and was obvious to her surrounding. Applejack pushed various instruments out of her way as she tried to get closer to the dust, Rarity's lack of work bothering her greatly. She stood up with a start, turned to Rarity and said with a harsh tone. ''Get to work, Rarity. We didn't come here for you to be simply filing your hooves, quit giving yourself a hoofincure and get other here and help.'' ''And ruin my new manicure?'' ''Yes, labor is where you have to give up your makeup. Twilight told us to do this, and I didn't want to have to work with you but you know that the others have relationships with each other. Fluttershy and Twilight are the obvious one, and only one that is official. However, it's obvious that Pinkie has a crush on Rainbow. So you know they are going to work together.'' ''I still don't see why I have to work.'' ''Because everypony has to pitch in!'' yelled Applejack, glaring at the unicorn. She bucked a bent flute out of the way, so she could clear some spiders webs. ''Eww..Spiders.'' Applejack frowned then a smirk brightened on her face. She collected the spiders webs, and the spiders that crawled onto them. She carried into over to Rarity. ''Now, get to work or I'll rub this on you.'' Rarity gulped and picked up her duster and likely dusted the seat, only to spot that one of the ends of piano seat was pulled up and showing the straw inside, something sparkled from within it. Her eyes widened and glittered from the light reflected off it as a couple of words left her mouth. ''Whoa. Sparkly.'' Her horn glowed, tearing the opening to show more inside. She saw a small pendent, note in shape. Prefect for the room, but she didn't know why a beautiful, sliver pendent was in a dusty, old castle. ''Applejack, you have got to see this beautiful pendent. I really wanna know why such a amazing pendent is doing in this castle?'' ''Give me that pendent, and get to work!'' said Applejack, turning to the unicorn. The two mares began fighting over the pendent, and eventually both their hooves touched at the same time on the pendent. A bright glow emitted from the note pendent. The two ponies gasped and dropped the pendent, it clattered onto the ground and the light shifted and morphed into two different lights then changed into two foal shapes. The light solidified and colors formed. One of the new born foals was a unicorn, with an orange coat and violet hair. The violet hair had a small ribbon attached to it and the foal's eyes were blue. The other one was a earth pony with a pure shiny white coat, with a blonde mane and green eyes. The second foal also had very sophisticated. ''What the bucking hell...'' mumbled Applejack, staring at the newborn twins. Rarity was confused as well, but she managed to at least give a half an answer. ''...The pendent emitted light when we both touched the pendent at the same time, but because we dropped it, the light split and formed two foals when it was probably intended to make only one foal.'' ''Even if you're correct, we need to take them to Twilight and find out what the bucking hell just happened. Wait a second...don't babies need diapers...?'' Rarity blinked a second, sniffed the air and glanced at the foals. One of the foals had peed on the floor, near where they were sat. ''Ew, so gross.'' Applejack sighed, and teared a bit of her cloth. She wiped the floor and the foal's flank. She then used the rest of the cloth to tie the foal's flanks to make some such of diaper. She glanced at the other foal, and used another cloth to make another makeshift diaper for the another foal. ''Okay, you take the earth pony. I'll take the unicorn, I'm taking the unicorn as she the one who peed.'' Twilight was flying around the library, trying to find an answer to her filly's appearance from nowhere. She glanced at a couple of the books and came across the name 'Papillion'. She glanced into it, scanning through the pages till she came across a picture of the book pendent that was around the alicorn filly's neck. ''Twilight, we need your help.'' came a duet of voices, originated from Rainbow and Applejack as they walked in with their partners and newborn foals. ''I hear you. Fluttershy, get Bookworm and come here. I might have found the answer to this.'' said Twilight, as she flew down to the ground with the book. ''So, where did these foals come from, Twilight?'' said Rainbow, as she put the pegasus foal on the table. Rarity and Applejack did the same with their foals. Fluttershy wander over, with the small alicorn on her back. ''This book tells a story about a group of three teenage mares who controlled the pendents that the fillies originated from. Each of the mares controlled the certain power, the unicorn had knowledge and skill in magic. The pegasus could control the weather and had agility. And the earth pony controlled the skills of musical talents and had a strong sense of strength. The book also mentions that the mares were sisters and the cause of their death was unexplained but the pendent was lost in the process of generations and something ended up here, laying dormant for somepony to activate them so they could reincarnate their former owners. We happened to activate with physical contract.'' ''Twilight, I have a question.'' said Rainbow, as she glanced at Applejack's and Rarity's twin daughters. ''Their four foals, not three. Why is that or don't you know?'' ''Well, because I'm a princess. My genes passed onto Bookworm here-'' said Twilight, as she pointed to the alicorn filly-Bookworm. ''And the other pendents needed to round up the counter of pony breeds.'' ''I see.'' said Applejack. ''And you called your filly Bookworm?'' ''Yeah, the pendent she originated from was the book pendent and so it kinda just made sense.'' ''Sounds just like you, Twi. To name your child something like that, sure Nyx has a good name but her name originates from a different source that came from your fillyhood.'' said Rainbow Dash. ''So, what are you, girls, going to call your foals.'' said Twilight, glancing at Rainbow and Pinkie. ''Pinkie mentioned something called Conny shortly after our child was born.'' ''Conny is a shortening of Confetti, Dashie.'' said Pinkie. ''I wanted to name her Confetti Rain so I could nickname her Conny or Rainy.'' ''That's actually a good name...'' ''Yay, her name's Confetti 'Rainy or Conny' Rain.'' Rarity glanced down at her foals, then glanced at Applejack. ''Well...I'll think we should name them after music. I was thinking Harmony and Melody, but who will be who?'' ''Well, the earth pony can be Harmony and the unicorn can be Melody.'' ''Well, that's all said. So, me and Flutters have Bookworm Sparkle. Pinkie and Rainbow have Confetti Rain, or Rainy or Conny. Apparently. And Rarity and Applejack have Melody and Harmony, do those two have surnames?'' ''Their surname can be Note, as it fits their pendent...or pendents...'' said Applejack. ''Pendents?'' ''Yeah. When the light split and solidified, the pendent also split and now their is two.'' ''Well, I see. That's that, then. We now have daughters to look after.'' //-------------------------------------------------------// Telling the Princesses part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Telling the Princesses part 1 Twilight groaned as her horn glowed, a scroll on her desk as a feathered quill floated around, trying to write what she wanted. She sighed to herself. She glanced down at the half-written letter, before sighing. Her magic dropped the quill, before she said to herself, closing her eyes with frustration. ''No, that's not it.'' ''Twi, you been at this for a while. You need a calm down.'' said Fluttershy, as she walked into the room. ''I know you want to tell the princesses about the foals, but you need to sleep.'' Twilight looked up at Fluttershy, gently asking. ''How's Bookworm?'' ''She's in her crib. Nyx helped me put her to bed, before she headed to her bed.'' ''Thanks for that.'' It had been a week since the incident, the mares had tried to settle down with the foals. Fluttershy had moved in with Twilight, at the crystal castle. Rarity and Applejack had changed the Apple Farm to have Rarity's Boutique as part of it. Pinkie managed to convince Discord to create a party castle just for her, Rainbow and Confetti Rain. ''Let me read it. Maybe I can help you.'' said Fluttershy, with a smile. Twilight sighed, using her magic to levitate the letter over to Fluttershy. The writing was a mess, mainly due to Twilight being so tired. The mare sighed. ''You really need to get some sleep, Twi. I know your concerned about all this, but you really do need to get this off your mind for a little while and go up to bed. I can write the letter for you.'' ''No, I should do this, Flutters.'' She took the letter back and continued to try and write it. Fluttershy grimaced and walked over to her marefriend. She gently wrapped her hooves around the other mare's neck and said. ''Twilight, how about you simply tell Princess Celestia about Bookworm and the others. With that, you can go into detail then at the end of the letter, you can ask her and Luna to come and meet the foals and tell us what she should about them.'' Twilight glanced up at Fluttershy, with curiosity before deciding to rewrite the letter from scratch using Fluttershy's idea, and she hoped that it would turn out better this time. It took a while to complete, but this time it was pretty good. Better then what she had down before. Twilight gently read through it and smiled. Dear Princess Celestia, I'm writing to you to ask about a strange occurrence that has happened to me and my friends. We were continuing the cleanup of your former castle in pairs to quicken to job. Me and Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack and Pinkie and Rainbow. It started with me and Fluttershy, we had been cleaning the books in the library when I came across a strange pendent, shaped like a book. When me and Fluttershy touched the weird pendent together, something quite strange happened, light began to form from the pendent. It shifted and morphed into a baby alicorn, that looked like me and Fluttershy, we at first was quite surprised. Anypony would be if they saw a pendent form a baby just like that. However, we calmed down shortly after Fluttershy calmed the crying infant down and so we decided to name it. The name being Bookworm, while I looked for information. A little while later, the other mares came back and we discovered that the others also now had foals of their own. Pinkie and Rainbow had a pegasus foal, that similar to Bookworm's case, looked just like them. They named their foal Confetti Rain, who has two nicknames Rainy and Conny. As for Rarity and Applejack, unlike everypony else, had two foals instead of one. Their foals are fraternal and so looked different from each other but similar to their parents. One of them was a unicorn, the other an earth pony. They decided to go with the names Melody for the unicorn and Harmony for the earth pony. All three of the foals were also wearing pendents, similar to the one that Bookworm was created from and has now wearing as well. Rainy had a raindrop shaped pendent, while the twins had music note pendents. Okay, I had discovered something about the pendents. They are over 1000 years old, maybe even older then you and Luna. I had discovered a book called 'Papilion' which told the story of 3 mares who processed these pendents, Knowledge, Weather and Music. However, as their was only 3 pendents back then, it is hard to translate how this worked to make 4. I managed to figure out a theory though, because of Bookworm being a alicorn like me, I have a feeling the pendents wanted to make up for the lack of a pony type by changing one of the pendents into two and the pendent it choose happened to be music. They needed to fill the quota of pony types, one alicorn, one unicorn, one pegasus and one earth pony. As back when the Papilion existed, I don't believe their were alicorns. Now, I wrote to you to tell you about the foals. I would also like to request you to come and visit the foals, and tell us what we should do about them as at the moment, everypony is raising their own foals and it is getting quite hard around. We're all having it pretty hard, raising infant foals when we have never done before. But if I were the say who was having it the hardest, I would have to say it would be me and Fluttershy due to raising a school-aged filly as well. Because of these difficulties, we need you to tell us what we should do about the foals and how we should raise them. Your former, but still faithful, student and fellow princess, Twilight Sparkle. ''Twi, that is a pretty good letter. I think the princess will come and help us with the foals.'' said Fluttershy, after she read the letter. ''But where is Spike?'' Twilight sighed to herself. ''He should be in his room, can you get him for me. I can't send a letter to the princess without him.'' Fluttershy nodded, leaving the room. It was a quick few minutes before she came back with a tired Spike. He groaned, took the letter, glared at Twilight, before breathing his fire on the letter, sending it to Princess Celestia. He glared at the mares once more, before walking back out of the room and back to his bedroom. Fluttershy looked at Twilight. ''That was pretty huffy.'' ''Yeah, but I did need him.'' said Twilight, with a sigh. ''Now, lets go to bed now. Like you wanted to me.''
