Chapter 1: A "Brand" New Day
"It was another beautiful Sunday as both Pegasi and Celestia herself promised us clear skies and Sunshine. Princess Luna is bestowing upon us another marvelous late evening with the skies filled with stars aligned perfectly for all you stargazers."
Cloudy. All I can see is clouds, fog, or something blurry in my life everywhere. Pegasi promised us clear skies, but what I see were clouds left and right. I first noticed it when I woke first thing this morning. I noticed it before when I was sleeping trying to dream, all I see was dark and blurry memories that were slowly coming back to me. Sadly what I think I see was just so unclear to me, that I just mostly rubbed them off like some bad nightmare or dream that I have no chance to recover from.
As I took my shower and finished up afterwards, I was trotting up to the mirror to grab the towel lying nearby on a rack to dry. As I dry myself, using the soft and warm towel on my black mane and shiny gunmetal coat.
My cutie mark resembled a steel black anvil with a work hammer striking down upon it. An aqua blue spark glowing from the point of impact. What strikes me the most about the blue color is that also the same color as my magic aura. Today it peaked my notice more than usual as I finished wiping my flank with the damp towel. Using my telekinesis magic, I discarded it into the wooden basket that catches my laundry, next to the sink.
I then look upon myself at the mirror in hopes to be greeted by a familiar smiling face. Only this time, I was greeted by clouds and fog as the water evaporation and the steam is still in the air. Coming to realize that I'd forgotten to turn the fan on before my shower, I then went on to fix it as pushed the nearby button by the mirror to start the air vent.
The mirror was slowly clearing up to reveal a face of a Stallion. "Brave, Bold, and ready to start the day again!" I explained to myself as I think to myself that this is the face that every pony wouldn’t mind seeing everyday. Ahh, who am I fooling, the scars are revealing miserable and frightening looks, that can scare any fools every day, beside my own.
What I see is an stallion with a heart full of care, respect, and honesty. The strong muscle built from hard labor on the outside but also very fragile on the inside. My current lifestyle without knowledge of my past is such a bad way to live normal life. A life without knowing your family and old friends. Those were taken away from me during the last battle on my first tour in Stalliongrad.
Everything about my incident is still a blur and unclear for me. I recall the results of it, had place my reputation in final honorably discharged, with near-death brain trauma. The cause according to my medical reports, is that due to unexpected artillery ambush attack by Zebra force. Combat medics and doctors say that I am the lucky one, unlike the others. Rumors spread across the branch, labeling me as the title of that attack as "The Sole Survivor"!
Bullshit title, I would say due, to my grief in the brothers in arm that pass away in the battlefield, over my fortunate survive ability.
I frown upon myself in the half evaporated mirror, while attempting to move my mane of my forehead reveal my "battle scars" that cover it. They made quite an impressive healing, as the wounds were starting to blend in with my fur color, but still dark enough to make me look like a cracked "egghead" up close. Grown used to my mane growing a little longer to hide the scars.
I do not know who were my parents and where I was from originate. I am not even sure if my relationship with them were good, bad, somewhere along the line; but judging by how they never contact me, I never bother about it. I really didn't care at all, after reading my medical reports stating that I was raised by anonymous guardian.
I can’t remember my childhood, plus the friends I had at the time. If I did, would they also be still around from the war or be there to even see me. I can best assume that I was more shy than social type, assume that nobody, outside of my family ever bother to check on me for while.
To make it worse of memory loss possible, I couldn’t remember how I even gotten my own cutie mark at all! That special moment in a pony life, that defines that pony is in life was taken away from me by that Zebra cursive artillery shell What does striking a anvil down with result of magic even mean to me??
If I were to make a short summary about my time in the war from that one battle, I would say out loud with proud tone,“War. War just never makes any changes, just loss.” as continue looking at the clearing up mirror to myself, directly trying to be more better than my problems in life.
First memory when awaken from the attack, despite all the dazed, deafness, and also feeling great pain in the worst places. What I recall to seeing more clear of and was a face, a face so familiar yet so lost and stunning to me. It grew to being the most beautiful face that I ever seen than any of the princess combined to me. Almost at first at the time, I thought that this ‘angel’ as she came down to save me from Tartarus hell of War.
“Practice more on your famous speech again, honey?” said that very beautiful face that was actually standing at the door, as I then break up my flashback to turn the voice calling to me.
That mare happen to be the sexy looking mare I ever met, and also my beloved wife. When I turn to see my mare with mane style being loosely elegant as her color being a green ombre brunette, and her coat being brown. Her race similar to mine with a yellow magic glow
I remember her best as my Faith Cross, as her cutie mark represent her line in work in helping others in her own faith, in a form of Red Cross with bead necklace wrapped around it. Everyone would have expect her name and mark to make of her being religious and self-center type of mare; but really she is more devoted towards helping others in need over her own agenda. She, pretty much, tells me half the time, her stories of how she her name and mark as her childhood being raised by Celestial Nuns. How she later in life choose to leave them behind, in order to pursue her goals in helping others in harsher times and places; which put her role as a combat nurse.
She then made a greater sacrifice in her life in desperate acts for her affection towards me, in calling for a career transfer towards Granite Stones Hospital in Trotson, fully fledgling herself as a full time doctor in my care and as her new role. Of course, I was feeling happy for being loved by another for their selfless act, is what to draw me closer in her embrace. We soon got married after my leaving in hospital and settling down for a bit, for our own honeymoon here in Common Hoof Bay. Sadly nothing special as not only we were slightly broke at the time, but also just pretty much alone together, nothing our families and barely any friends to even attend our official wedding that we just simply engage Hoof at the Mayor office. That all happen just over a year ago before we settle down with a new house here in Sanctuary Valley, a new build, average mortgage payment, sub-urban neighborhood.
I responded back to her, “No, I was just trying give this fine looking stallion some Prep talk for his big day!” as I say in a friendly, sarcastic tone while admiring my reflection on the mirror.
She then chuckled up and said “Well, I known you are going to knock them dead at the veterans hall tonight, if I can still helps you both out!"
She then added to that with a more seductive tone,"And probably even knock me dead when we hit the hay afterwards," as she even winked her eyes at me as she eyes up my mess-up clean mane.
Feeling blushed already and also noticing the color pink glowing on my face from the mirror. I then became aware of her proposition, the timing of it, even the smell her familiar 'wet' fragrance that stain the air stronger for me. It was clear that her heat is kicking up back again for one last time before Nightmare Night. She was clearing looking out me with desire to make her cum in the bathroom in 60 seconds flat.

I then remarked back with a more serious tone, "No means, No! Faith; I just took a shower and about to freshen up!" As I look more into her eyes with frown.
She then signs and accept my words into account. She looks down to herself, as she not only embarrass herself very but also acts little miserable because of my response.
I then felt bad about my outcry and said with a apology, "Look, I am sorry that I have to make you suffer, but I am sure a nice shower would suit you just fine until the late evening; Now is not the perfect time, when we could have the whole night together, like you said!" Hoping that my words would speak a wiser reason.
She then said with forgiveness and adorable smile while looking at the mirror with me as we look at each other eyes through the reflection, “Absolutely!” then went up to my neck and planted a soft kiss there.
She then put her soft lips up to my ear as I shudder from the kiss, and whispers to me giggle, “Now please, get ready and stop hogging the mirror!” as she then went away and leave the room.
I then grew another blush of embarrassment, and look back to my reflection and said, “Right!”
As I check myself to notice how overgrown some of my mane, especially the back parts; is starting to make my mane look more feminine, similar to how my body is small enough that it could easy mistaken him as a female, due to his body size and height slightly taller similar then an average female proportion.
Plus, I was starting to grow facial hair, black shades of hair was starting to form around my mouth & along the jawline of my face. I then quickly ask my wife before she even left the room, “What do you think, Hon, beard or not beard?”
She then stop to turn her head around to face me as she said, “I think you look more handsome without beard, but I wouldn't mind either way” as she leave the doorway of the room.
I then blurted out proudly, “No beard it is!” as I think of her rolling her eye right now as she left the room, knowing that I am completely tease while getting her appeals, like always.
I then levitated my comb, saver, and other self-hygienic items as I begin to freshen up.
I then left the bathroom 10 minutes later looking like a brand new pony that can take on the world any day, having to put on my causal clean white shirt set up nearby the sink, plans to wear it casual until the memorial tonight.
Today was going to be my usual days as I was back to usual job searching for another average job. I used to work at the nearby supermarket known as Super Duper Market for a few months, ever since we moved into the neighborhood a few months ago. The job was good, except for the new co-manager by the name of Orderly Shelf, whom was in charge of supervising us associates, while I was unload freight and stocking.
Long story short, she was taking her Estrus problem very hard enough then all the other female associates combined, that she took more notice to me then all the other stallions out there. She tried to make a move on me, despite being aware of my marriage status; the results she ended up dramatically crazy and fired me right on the spot for sexual assault charges in the workplace. I choose to not come back to work there again or any Super Duper Market, after that experience for many reason, one of the major was this stupid Heat every mare was suffering at the time. I swear that natural urges to be sexual arouse to just about on to any male they could find, is just making me sick faster than a jack rabbit running on Dash. Now, I am just scared about putting myself into the sort of situation without breaking both my heart of my lover and also the friends’ heart as well.
My new home in general, as it has just about everything you would ever need for a single average family; it contains a spacious living room with function kitchen or the main lobby i like to called it, with 3 separate bedrooms with bathrooms included, a closet, a utility room, the basement, a garage, and has a huge backyard space with a gardening shed.
As I left bathroom of my master bedroom, trotting through the hallway, into the main lobby to meet my wife and our automatic housemaid named Steam Springs doing their usual routine. Faith was listen to her own phone messages from her workplace, while Steam was preparing my cup of hot coffee and breakfast.
Steam was in fact a female Mister Handy (Mistress Handy, I believe are what they are called). Unlike all the other Mister Handies, she was different by being one-of-a-kind , with a built-in feature that is a A.I. system talisman chip that creates her own signature personality with a real mare voice and more engaging interaction as she program to have a personality of a Prench Maid.
She was originally owned by Faith's father whom has close connection with Robronco’s CEO-President, whom has provide him with Steam as unique prototype robot in favor of testing is her new talisman out for him. Of course the robot was then passed on to Faith that she inherited Steam as a “wedding gift” from her family who can’t make it to us. I still having met the two ever since, especially even for Bottle Caps Birthing.
Despite how Faith doesn't like to talk about them a lot, so it was clear we were on the same boat when it comes to family problems, especially when neither of them bother to show in our great or worst times. Boy, It is a harsh life being left alone when you were in need for attention; I just give into the fact that I really do not care if they ever come back to me at all, because of it.
Back to Steam, her program give her more personality that makes her loyal and faithful to her duty and the family, but also adorable and very positive when thing are down. She just as fun to engage conversation with when Faith is not around, she could be very easily a great friend if thou she a floating bucket of Bolts and feathers and steam.
Steam then turn to notice me coming in and spokes to me while bring me cup of coffee, “Good morning, Mr. Dream; your coffee is ready as I brew to your desired flavor Vanilla and room temperature of...”
I interrupted her in saying the finishing up her lines, “145 degrees Fahrenheit” as I rolled my eyes in knowing our regular coffee interaction.
She then just said, “Ahh, yes, I do always appreciate your positive feedback about my line of work, Monsieur!”.
She then gives me my cup, and went back to the kitchen to get my breakfast ready while grabbing Faith's plate as she head back the way I came to freshen up.
I went to sit down at the dining table nearby as set myself up for breakfast. I took a sip of my coffee and go ahead started reading the newspaper set up right in front of me on the table.
Reading the front page headlines, discussing two important news about the war; one being related with the Equestrian government making an official martial law in Trotson and the other being Stalliongrad was losing its edge in holding a proper defense against the incoming Zebra forces. News like these are really becoming more troublesome for both Equestria and Trotson, as it’s the first time in history they are actually losing important strategic location of the entire war.
If Zebra were able to gain control of Stalliongrad, then Trotson will be its next target, making their final attack from the northern mountain range. From there, they could easily gain control over Common Hoof Bay with a simple bombing run then rush into tactic known as the Flickering Stripes Tactic; then the rest of Equestria will be in their easy grasp by a simple fast last strike invasion.
Common Hoof Bay, is in fact geographically, temperate forest valley region with mountain covering all land access while east is the coastline to the ocean known as the Common Hoof Bay, that very name that represent the region we lived in. The outer region is filled with tour out of the five historical districts of the entire region, each with their own tradition and with special duties that meet the Trotson's needs. Our south district is known as the Earth Pony District, Granite Stone, which to is also south east of Trotson is the original earth pony capital. Our neighborhood is on the opposite side of the map, next to one of the few major highway routes that enters or leaves the Common Hoof region. all the way through Trotson, past that either towards the heart of Equestria by reaching Manehattan.
I then put down my newspaper aside the silverware, as get ready for Steam when she planted my breakfast plate in front of me. I then replied to her, "Thanks, Steam!" As I begin to lift my fork with magic and started to pick up scramble eggs.
She then said, "Your welcome, Monsieur Dream" as she then go to kitchen and begins cleaning up the kitchen and the dishes with the dishwasher.
I continue to look at my plate as I continue eating to see that I was serve Scramble eggs with Waffles, a bowl of Sugar Bombs, and some sizzling slabs of meat??
I then ask Steam a question, "Steam, why are you serving me meat; you know we ponies are vegetarians, right" as I look at her curious with wonder.
She then replies, "Oh, Faith wanted to me to serve this new pork that they called 'Bacon' where she heard the name when she visited the market yesterday" while finish up planting the dish on the dish rack.
She then turn around to hover over to the hallway closet to grab her duster to begin her routine cleaning. She stop by me while I was finish up the waffles & eggs and said, "Faith also said, that it helps by maintaining your energy and grows a function, healthy body; it were surely help you in your past condition, and it also taste great as she quote it for my cooking"
I then took her advice for know and started to chew the meat to find the savoring taste of grease and fat to be delightful, also taste like salted pork; knowing that I did had meat before just not too often. Feel little bad though, that meat like these come from poor innocent pig that was butcher in the making So, finished it up and say my quiet prayers to any pig that died serving this dish.
I then look up at the new cereal brand ready in bowl of milk, Sugar Apple Bombs. I had order up a brand for me to try out for my newborn foal when he is ready for it; I then lift a spoon and put a mouthful of it into my mouth to taste sweetness frosted coating all over the oats and grain cereal.
I then comment to myself while reading the box label, "Sugar Apple Bombs; 120% Pinkie Pie approved daily value of Sugar, more like 99% made of Sugar!" as then stood up while lifting the branded cereal to go put it up in the pantry, next the fridge. Still, not bad for foal's favorite cereal, I thought!
I then got up to go check up on all the other brands in the pantry that ranges from Marconi's Brand of Instant Noodles, Potato Crisp, etc. I then closed and check the fridge of it contents, only to be find with cooler content with array of vegetables and bowl of apples. Assume for tonight's romantic dinner when it comes to apples being our everyday favorite fruit, what would I pay to have a bowl of Cherries for the occasion! Also notice on the top shelf was some drinks, especially a soft drink that caught my attention known as Sparkle Cola.
I then comment happily again, "Oh goodie, Sparkle Cola, ice cold!!" As raised my forehoof out to reach for it when I heard a knocks on the front door, followed by a doorbell.
I then, sigh, that I can't have soft drink break now, decide to grab the empty bottle of milk instead with my magic; thinking that it probably be the milk mare or mail mare coming tending to their usual duty.
I then trotted to the door calmly and also opened it up with my magic to meet a different guest. A smiling unicorn mare with coat of white and purple-pink like mane, dressing in yellow trench coat with matching color fedora mixed with cavalier form hat style with purple feather, without the outfit on, she could easily look like Sweetie Belle herself, except for the eye color being orange.
She then responded happily as she step forward a bit, "Good morning, sir, How was your day?
I then replied with a warm smile, "Good, just finish breakfast and ready to start the day, you?!"
She then give a surprised look when she saw me and choked for the first time and said with an embarrassed blush, "Sorry, for that moment there, but I thought I heard you said 'How was my day' as if no pony would have said the same to me" as I soon got the hints it was also her first time meeting a Stallion in a while. Damn it, this better be good for our sake, because Faith is not going to like it!
I then look at her, to notice that she was staring at me while lost to my words.
I then interrupted her from that awkward silence, hoping to interrupt her daze with a question, "What is that I can do for you today, Mrs...."
"Sale, Ms. Stable Sale at your pleasure," as she then added while also trying to not embarrass herself even more, by nodding her head constantly as she picks up her clipboard with documents and pen attached to it.
She then replied professional, "I'm here on Stable-Tec Business for you and your family, Mr. Craft Dream" as she looks up her paper on the board.
I then heard of he business that she speak of, Stable-Tec, a mega corporation that invested in over millions on grand fallout shelters known as Stables; with it being directed by its CEO Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle; and their iconic mascot being Amoria (Stable Mare). From what I heard about them, they were awful expensive when it come gaining entry/spot into the Stables; that and their praised believe that mega spell attack is imminent when the time comes at the end of the Great War. I do not recall me or Faith having any future plans with Stable Tec. fro them to arrange her visit with us right now.
I then questions it with, "Stable-Tec, remind me again?"
She then took note of that, and said to me, "Well, we are about you, sir, as our main goal is to help secure you and your family's future!"
She then continue as I listen, “You see, Stable-Tec is the fore-builders of latest state-of-the-art underground fallout shelter that we brand our corporate name for!”
She then lean her head a bit and said, “Stables, if you would!"
Interesting, I thought, yet not buying her word, as I then ask her another question, "What make them different than any average cellar or bunker?"
She then answer it with a quick and excited response of, "Well, the Stable can offer more than what average protection can bring; a thriving community with all sorts of pony inhabitants could they could offer you all as a whole, with the most greatest Arcane material made to withstand both Celestia/Luna mighty powers combined."
"You see, Stable-Tec ensures that its Stables are provide with more than just basic needs of renewable food, water, breathable air, etc. Why it provide the best of Stable-Tec worthy of technology with luxury accommodation while you wait out the balefire devastation." She then finished with glee.
Then she open her eye while showing worry looks as she finished up with, "You have no idea how hard it has been for me to contact you, it is utmost urgency I ensure you!"
"What so important?" As I ask her more, while setting the milk bottle on the ground outside.
"Well, nothing more than your entire future, of course, you see this balefire devastation will be more inevitable and real than you think!" She replied with half-eye, nervous look as continues with, " If you have notice, Mr. Dream, this war has gone too far; I fear, we fear the big ‘Kaboom’ is coming, no matter how close the end of the war is!"
We both give out a moment of silence, setting in on her possible hard facts that her words spoke honest of the dreaded future.
She then broke the silence with confidence in saying, "Anyway, I am here to today to ensure that you and your family have been pre-selected for entry in our latest series of Stables here in Trotson!”
She then flipped her paper on her board and look more closely at my documentation, then finished and spoke back to me, "Ah yes, interest, your Stable happens to be the local Stable, just built next door to this neighborhood, known as Stable 145!”
I then look shock to her too, as Faith and I could have not afford entry fee in the first place; I then ask her with my worry, "Wait a sec, there must be a confusing, We didn’t sign up for anything, why makes us qualified to lived in the Stable, when we haven't even contact you?!?"
She then responded, with calm and easy answer, "Because, Craft Dream, my good sir; you are a hero to us in our book; you see the Equestrian Government took a closer look into your service and loyalty in your line of duty in the army!" I then blinked couple of time to see that she has more to say, "Your battle report and service came to us Stable Tec, and my overall employer as see to it that you and your.." as she notice catch her eye behind me.
I look behind to see Faith looking more beautiful than before as she tied her mane back into a pony style with her green mane being the tied up to the back with the brunette mane being pretty much visible.
Sadly, I love her mane better when it's loose! She also put on her casual green dress, with a skirt.
As she looks up to me and Stable, she then ask me "And may I ask who is this?" She ask in a friendly tone and curious tone.
I then replied in a innocent smile while pointing a hoof from behind back at Stable, "Faith hon, this is Stable Sale with interesting proposal for us from Stable Tec."
When she heard me say the stranger name, she starting give looks of concern back at me then to Stable and me again, and said to me, "Isn't Stable Tec famous for being pricey, I am not even sure if we the funds to go purchase some doomsday prepper’s dream home, when we should be taking care of Bottle Cap."
Stable then interrupt me before I can say anything by answering her question, "There no need to worry about the price, Mrs. Dream; as I was about to say to Craft," as she look up to everyone with another smile, "There are no fee at all, as it already been cover for Craft Dream's military service and your medical records, as well, in courtesy by my employers."
She then, looks back at her paper again and add more to her words, "In fact, you all are already clear for entrance, minus your robot naturally!" as she eyes the robot leaving the room to tend Bottle Cap’s diaper change as part of her daily routine.
Welp, there goes bringing Steam Spring with us! As I thought to myself on her last words about Steam.
She then look straight back at me, "All I need now is for Mr. Dream here, to verified some important personal information, you know we don’t want hold any hold ups in the incoming balefire devastation" added a wink in her left eye as look at me with some pink glowing in my face. She was clearly trying to hit on me with the presence of my wife right there
I then look back at my wife notice her looking back at me with a glare, both knowing too well this mare is not going to make life easy for me. More embarrassing blushes beginning form as I begin turning almost as red as my auto-wagon outside, but lucky for me that Stable didn't notice it.
I then said something random sarcastic to avoid stuttering in my words with, "Now I can't wait for the world to end" is what came out with my mouth.
She then took notice and giggle little while being more real mature in replied, "That's the spirit, well now let's see here!"
She look back her note one last time as she notice something interesting and spoke it to me straight forward, "Ahh yes, Craft have you ever heard of about our latest S.P.E.C.I.A.L. program?"
I replied with knowledgeable and confuse answer, "Yes and No; Something about what makes you special in your own way through attributes and skills, stuff like that" as I think back to the time I try out the promotional S.P.E.C.I.A.L. survey beta test before.
"Well, as part of Trotson’s series of Stable-Tec of Stable policy, we were testing out the newest version of Stable Tec's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. program that will promote a better understanding of yourself than previous programs" as she spoke up about it.
She then pointed and explained, "You don't need to worry about that much as it would make major change that you would not notice that much at first until later in the program and again free of fee, due to it being beta work and your access as a V.I.P.."
She then gives me her clipboard and pen with the both my previous survey and newer looking survey next to it. Both are the same S.P.E.C.I.A.L. but the newer one is different as it more asking less of me to choose my recommendation on a scale to 1-10 per Stats.
I then took her word of advice with appreciating and said, "Sure, doesn’t sound that hard!" as pick them up with my magic from hers as I begin to read through it and fill out the needed details.
When I finish, I handed the clipboard back to her as she gladly take back the clipboard and pen with her magic and begin cheerfully spoke her thankfulness as she leaves, “Thank you for choosing Stable Tec sir, where we are preparing for the future…”
A yellow magic glow then formed around the door which in turn caused to the door itself to close on it own in the middle of her sentence, realizing who magic it was to cause this I turn to look at my wife, seeing how rude that was for her to act upon the poor mare.
I then yelled at to the poor sale mare through with a voice of concern, “ Ah, thanks again, apology!” As then turn around to face my mare sitting down on the couch as she pick up the TV remote with magic again, turning the television in front of us in the living future.
As look straight her back as she pretend like nothing has happened and continue watching the sudden new Sparkle Land advertisement, I then raise my voice with dignity and said in a annoyed tone, “Do you not think for yourself on considering how rude on what you have done to end the arrangement!”
She then turn around to face with a innocent smile as she said, “Poor mare, why the mare was working with a company that invest in enough bits to society than Ministry Six combined!” as she then shifted her emotions to anger tone.
Then she continued, “Craft, I know that she was trying to hit on you like that co- manager did back at the market, when both can clearly see our wedding ring around your hooves!” as she show me her ring around her right forehoof, with tiger eyes glare.
I then remark back at her while holding my ground, “It not my fault that I am one of the few colts here in Trotson, while the everyone else are out there fighting for our cause!”
I then look back at her when she starting to see reality, so finish it up with, “Especially when mares like you at your worst moments when dealing with Estrus alone, you know that pretty much every mare is always looking at my flank whenever I noticed it or not!” as I revealed disgust facts of life being a lone Stallion.
I then saw sadness upon her face as I then added with kindness and forgiveness, “Look not matter what is happening to us, you will also be my number one mare around, I promise you that!” as also see looks of adorable smile converted from a frown upon her face.
“What I did saw though was you overreacting over a nice sale mare who was offering us and our son a new protective home, free of charge, a new safe future for us from the balefire, if that is a thing”, as I rephrase of the whole scenario that just happen moment ago.
She then look up to my thoughts and then spoke, “I guess I just overreacting a little”
I then look at her funny, knowing too well that was not correct response that I want from her.
She then corrected herself, “All right, a lot” as she then give more funny look back as I give myself a quiet victory look.
She then continue as I went over to her to sit by her, “It just this Heat it’s…. It’s just driving me crazy, and having to deal with stress of work and protecting you from the world, along with…” as she suddenly realization that she was by looking at me with her beautiful blue eyes.
She finished, “ I am worry the world is changing too fast, that I am going to lose you along with it” with sadness and tears following up.
I then patted her back converting into embracing hug and with a lovely kiss on the cheek giving her confident in her eyes again, as made my one last assurance to her, “ I would never leave you, nor will I will leave Bottle Cap, behind either!”
She then raised more of a smile and winked her eyes, as she then spoke to me, “Thank you Craft, you sure know how to make me cheer up when I am feeling down!”
I then said happily, “Anytime, Babe” as we look on words at the current television program that was featuring some re-run of a drama- romantic show, can't think of the name right now.
“Well then, just to be clear with what you said early, who was really your number two mare around?” as she joked and look at me with her google, teasing eyes.
I then blushed in embarrassment known my poor word choice early was biting my flank again, so couldn’t come up with anything but, “ah, you are ?!?!” and laugh up a defeat. I can tell she already making her comeback in this teasing battle of ours.
I then about to remark something when Steam Springs spoke out aloud to us, “ Mr. Dream, young Bottle Cap is refusing to calm down after I changing his diaper and fed his daily milk; I think that he needs his father’s loving attention to be probably rested” as she looks to me with concern and worry tone.
I then stood up and begin to trot back into the room, as I walk past Steam, I said to her, “ No need to worry, Daddy is here to save the day, I can handle it from here, Springs, thank you!” As I give her assurance and authority.
She then say, "You welcome, Monsieur" as she use her duster to clean up the shelf held my trifold Equestrian Flag with a Ministry of Wartime Technology approval seal, that represent my service in the army. It also held my wife's medical degree with Ministry of Peace approval seal, also represent her skills as a combat medic. I am so proud of her work in the medical degree.
I then left the lobby to head out towards Bottle Cap’s bedroom as I can hear the audible familiar crying demanding attention. I grew little worry as I then open up the bedroom door to find him standing in his crib as he look up to me with sadness then suddenly adorable happiness when seeing in his appearance..
Bottle Cap is strangely less than a year old pegasi with dark red coat, almost like the Sparkle Cola drinks I witness early; and freshly growing mane having a hint of my identical hair color. His mother gave him in her own identical blue eyes also, as for his origins of his biological race was beyond our imagination. Faith says it may have been possible that one of her long distance cousins may have been also a pegasi that has passed his gene to her to also Bottle Cap, otherwise we are still clueless as a blank book.
I then went over to him in my most funniest trot to surprise him with my arrival with best silly face, as then said, “Where Craft Dream?!?” as I hid underneath the cribs edge.
Bottle Cap was quiet down as he thinks he knows what he is going to do and was beginning to wonder where he is as he look around, his curiosity begins to give the courage as he bend his head forward outside the crib as he lift himself up with his developing wings.
I then surprise by raising my head with my forehoof up in the air and yelled cheerily, “Here I am!” as he got spooked by the sudden surprise he fell back into the crib. Realize ahead that he was going to hit his head on the other dashboard of the crib, I quickly grab with my magic as I lifted him up in mid air before he could even knock his noggin.
As we both giggle at our usual playtime greetings, I then lifted him more up into the air as I ‘flew' him around the room while making the best airplane sounds I can with my mouth; giving the sense that he was really flying like his wings wanted him to feel.
I know that neither of us, Faith and me were not Pegasus, but we do together try our best to make him feel special about himself, no matter how different he was to us. Either way, I am little jealous of him that he has the ability to fly, walk on clouds, possibly use cloud technology, working in the Enclave military force when he grows…
Sudden realization to that new thoughts when he grows up like me, take on his father old footstep and being a dedicated Equestria Soldier like his old Stallion. Hmm mm, not the life that I want my child to lived in. I then keep reminding myself of how terrible the last fact will be to him, knowing my first experience of war almost costing my life, and also already destroyed all those that I was with by my side Either coming back with me in body bags or on casts, wheelchairs, etc. Stop Dream, Stop thinking such horrible thoughts, just please just look at the adorable colt’s smile and forget!
I then forget what I was thinking about in order to spend fun time with Bottle Cap. My desperate hope right now for Bottle Cap's future is to simply wished for this Luna damned great war with Zebra.
We then calmed down bit more, as I sat him back down on the bed as he grew more tired from all the fun and thrills that just happen to him, he look more at me with his sheepish eyes as I stick head over the crib and played with him with my right fore hoof where he lays. He also then pulled up the blankets over his body with my magic as I wrapped him up nice and tight with it.
I then heard Faith spoke to me from the doorway as she look at us when I turn at her attention, “So, how are the two most important colts in my life doing?”
I replied, “We are doing great, sorry that you missed the fun” as look at her with happiness in my words.
She then look at Bottle Cap's crib then back at me and said, “Spin the Wonderbolt mobile a bit, he loves that!” as she give some good advice about that I did what she said and started up the mobile.
The mobile started to going in circles over Bottle Cap's head while playing its ring tone of the lullaby Wonderbolt theme, he begins his nap as Faith came over to join me watching sleep peacefully.
Faith spokes to him softly, "How’s my little pony doing, feeling much better now; sweet dreams"
She then look at me with in a whisper talk, "Listen, after his nap; I was thinking we should head out to the park for a bit.
I then look at Bottle Cap as he sleeps nicely, and then look back her, "That sounds like fun! Hopefully, it won’t be like that last time we had in the park one night" making another sarcasm joke.
We then heard a Steam's worried voice from a distance as she said out loud that we could here, "Monsieur…. Faith…. you should come and see this!!!"
Faith then responded little louder with a concern on her face, "Steam, what's wrong?!?!
I then said, "I will go check on her!" As I trot little faster back to the main lobby where Steam's voice came from. Wonder to myself, what could be so bad enough for Steam to alert the whole household about.
I then got to the lobby to find the robot maid looking at the Television that we left on showing something off. I then stand by Steam as I kept my eyes on the screen before us to see that our regular broadcast of television was cut off and replace with Equestria's emergency broadcast channel.
Notice the channel is displaying official Equestria flag with the Ministry Six’s logos along with them, I just know from there that we will not be expecting anything good coming to Equestria.

(Spoilers for those you haven't played Fallout 4). But, there will be different approaches before leaving that in turn will go the path my story is being told which make it different. After the chapters are done; expect a whole new wasteland with new adventures and new cast inspirations, and so on.

Chapter 2: The “Stable” Life

The Ministry Six Logo surround, along our national flag of Equestria with blue skies background. It also displays it title with, “Equestrian Emergency News” or EEN for short. They rarely make television appearance, only in slight emergency announcement or when practicing emergency drills, especially more common here in Trotson now under Martial Law. They usually make big cut off on our regular programs, to discuss only important news about the state of our government, state of the war and Equestria state at the time, etc.
The logos and the flag then faded to a new backdrop, featuring our regular weather spoke pony whom is Earth pony that takes on the name of Mrs. Olive Bulletin. When we see or hear her every morning, we as people of the Trotson are pretty much have a usual smile on our face, because of how true and friendly her words are to us and how her talent in weather prediction by the Pegasus's weather charts are pretty much straight. She was different then all the other weather pony I heard about, being a Earth over your usual Pegasus that will be right for the job.
We used to have a metaphor, “that whenever Olive shines, so does Trotson. Also when she down, every pony down! Strangely enough, for as long I can remember, I never seen her show any weakness or any form change in her bright personality, until now!!
The Olive that I am seeing is looking lot emotional drain then anyone I have seen. She look at us, through the camera's perspective, and said with a serious voice yet slightly worried voice, “Good Noon Trotson, we sorry we interrupt your regular scheduled program to bring you important announcement!”
She then continue as she look at her paper, “We just received major casualties reports of a major bomb attack at Cloudsdale that struck a few hours, the communication went down immediately after the explosion, delaying us long enough to not give you all immediate report!”
Me just look at her with probably the same expression and state of mind of worrisome, as the hundreds of thousands that are watching and listening to her right at this second.
“We are received reports of fleeing Pegasi refugee fleeing the city to other major Pegasus cities after the attack, most happened to be fournateive to be outside the explosion radius, that officials said that scaled to completely annihilate the whole downtown area, along with most of the suburban.” as she reads more of the reports and reports being placed down as new updates are coming in.
“Information is not clear as to exactly how many casualties have been lost during the attack, but it is clearly higher than both all the refugees and wounded combined all together!" She reads up more of paper that seem to be bring tears to not only our eyes of this tragedy but also in hers as well, we also seen something else that in her eyes beside sadness, same as everyone that hearing this. It was fear of what may soon becoming a reality.
She then gulped for sec, as she look back at the screen looking at us, with sickness and sadness in her face.
“We are afraid to say, but we have officially confirmed reports that the bombs are Zebra's Mega Spells!"
As me and Steam watch the television, Faith came into the room with our sleeping son in her magical grasp. She then heard them terrifying words as I heard, “Dear Celestia”, with fear in her eyes.
The fear that the “inevitable” that the Stable Salemare has predicted, was truly coming more real than advertisement. That Equestria has finally got attack forth the first time ever in history by foreign weapon of mass destruction.
Olive then paused for a sec, as she listen through her hidden headset that is feeding her more information more about the reports that hard hitting her hard. Even more so than she appears to just shaken her grip on the reports she holding, losing more of her fragile happy nature in reporting the news that she dedicated her life for. She looking more broken of a mare that she wants to leave her stand. I could also assume that she had lost some very close friends to her, from destroy city. I heard rumors that she was raised by parents both are Pegasus, which explains her natural talent in sensing the weather, I can also see how true the rumors about her, judging by how much pain she put through in speaking about the doom Pegasus capital.
She then took her time for a minute as she then tells more bad news, with a new slight panic tone, "I just now receiving reports that Manhattan has just been hit!"
She not doing that great of a job when it comes to remain calm when worst time comes. Something like that can get her kick right off the camera because of in fear she started a unwanted major panic. But, there she remained as she made her final warning that sent shiver down our spine, "We are getting reports that more incoming Mega spells are inbound towards other known civilizations, official sources say that that are targeting major city and locations! for our beloved capital Canterlot, another heading for Hoofington, and now…..”
She then stop speaking as she reads the last notes just sent to her, instantly; completely shock as to read the last warning that she need to say. She then says it with her best straight, but extremely nervous voice,
“We just got confirmation that about 5 Mega Spells Zebra bombers are inbound for our location, oh Celestia please help us now!!!”
She finished with a breakdown of hopeless as she read her soon to be fate, as the transmission gets cut off, then came the newest sound that echo across the entire neighborhood.
The sounds of bomb sirens echo across the entire region, the sounds that were projection from all military base and checkpoints, set up across the region. The alarm was soon followed by the sounds of neighborhood, possibly the entire region breaking out into a great panic. This was clear warning to all those listen that this was not a drill, and that we must head seek A.S.A.P. balefire shelter before it is too late.
That is my cue to say out loud, “We need to get to the Stable, NOW!”
As Faith nods her head to me me in agreement with emotion full of worry and fear in her eyes.
We went out of the room and reach the front door. As I open my door fast, I was met with the sight of a whole new colorful world that was slowly losing it brightness, as everypony in the neighborhood was falling apart and leaving their home. As I look upon the streets of the neighborhood, I was meeting our neighbors after other neighbors fleeing away from their homes by any form of transportation, ranging from Auto Wagons, local Passenger Carriages variety to either air or ground, and also Red Scooters. New arrivals into the Sanctuary Valley were the Equestrian Military, dress in their regular Equestrian Army attire, with standard firearms and behavior that represent their service in protecting Equestria and its people. The appear to be arriving and gathering more towards the hill where the new Stable is located, along with half the neighborhood heading the same direction. We begin to run and hurry onward to the safety of the Stable, far out south of the neighborhood.
The world was slowly dissolving into complete chaos as ponies of sorts are panicking and fleeing to whatever safely that can find. The world around me was filled with sounds of not just sirens but also the sounds of the whole damn region going on a huge panic. It surprising how very echo this region can be, despite how very open the geographic is when most of the region is literally a valley with a major river that makes a bunch of double crossing, all heading eastward the bay of the region, Common Hoof. It probably very easier to be echo out of, due to the mountain ranges that not only hug the borders of the entire region, but also completely isolated the entire region from the world, except for coastlines, east of the region and the Trotson Capital.
I then look back to Faith as she has already awake Bottle Cap wrapped up in her foal carrier. Also strapped on her back is a emergency saddle pack that contains some importance foal accessorizes, a toy, some baby food/bottle milk, etc. One of those few things I love about my sweetheart, is that she pretty much prepared for just about any situation that gets thrown at us, more especially when it comes to being a mother.
The run towards the hill is quite the workout. My body was not used to my lack of exercise then when I used to be when I was in the Army. My love worry about my health if I were to exercises more often outside, that accidents will just come knocking me off my feet. But, this situation is different as if staying home would be in our case an grand option for any of us to live with as the world is coming to end. What matter to me right now is getting myself and my family to safety.
The world is just slowly losing its colors as we ran, as the skies are cover with migrating flying living things of sorts and kinds, most noticeably the Pegasus as they are fleeing to the cloud town known as New Columbus. The original Pegasus capital, according to earlier Equestrian history, before Cloudsdale as the current Pegasus town of the Common Hoof Bay, it stood hovering near the city of Trotson miles away, facing next to the mountains range north of the region, little more closer to the seacoast.
We made it up the hill outside of our neighborhood where a huge crowd is gathering in front the only heavily defended checkpoint, that appears to be the entrance of the Stable 145 property. They were forming lines towards the entrance with assigned guards, mostly consist of entire squadron of either Enclave Pegasi and M.W.T.'s own Steel Rangers were half the squad, mostly suited up in military power armor.
They are currently using the new standard A-45 and R-45 Power Armor, pre-tested and approved for Equestrian Military for the Common Hoof Region branch. Still interesting that they have not been replaced the old version across Equestria, that hear rumors has it that these types of armor are only available in Trotson region. The ministry planing to test out the newest line of power armor sets, similar and including both the Earth Pony’s A-45 (Steel Rangers) and Pegasi’s R-51 (Enclave Pegasus) design. To make sure that the new power armor is ready for distribution, they all have to be remodeled and re-work all the known armor in the bay, in the next few years since Trotson recent developments. Unfortunate enough, that that new armors are only available in this region, not be official replacement to all form of armor due to beta testing. I guess the Common Hoof deserves the best, especially it is our last defense towards the North, against rumored invading Zebra.
The guards are deck in with heavy to assault weaponry, ranging from mini guns, Gatling gem guns, assault rifles, combat shotguns, etc. It pretty standard and favorite choice of firepower, when defending this hill like it is a fucking war zone, not as a crowd control.
Where the hay is the damn Equestria Special Attack Team (E.S.A.T.) or the police force, should professional groups like them need that much firepower to protecting corporate checkpoints instead of out towards the northern borderlines. It just little ridiculous for Stable Tec. to hired the Equestrian military for protection among the products against civilian population. Sometimes, I questions the Trotson Military's chain of command, over all the other branches and regions, by the fact that they are taking this martial law too serious, onward to little more aggressive precautions and behavior.
The rest of the neighborhood, and a bunch of new strangers, are gathering and lining up outside the checkpoint to gain entry to the Stable. Most of them are either denied the access that they are pushed aside for the growing line to the checkpoint. The were also Pegasus, flying and orbiting around the skies in attempted to breach the property, but the Enclave guards took their job very serious enough to prevent them the opportunity.
The crowd around us, as we join the line, were waving down flags and chanting signs that read of “LET US IN!”, “HELP US”, YOU ARE ARE GOING TO TARTUS!”, etc. as we listen to them all ranting and shouting louder for entry. The ones that just were denied either join them or leave in sadness.
Then something louder came up ahead that spook off half the line away, me and my family continue forwards to investigate the outburst.
The outburst that was made out loud enough to slowly quiet down crowd noise level quite a bit, was unexpectedly the very familiar sales mare’s fury voice. She was yelling at the front checkpoint guard up front with the Stable Tec. Security uniform. The stallion guard was clearly a unicorn with his horn and yellow magic in placed as he holds his clipboard and pen in the air, hard to tell his colors as he pretty covered up, but I can see that he has exposed a dark sunflower yellow coat of fur. He happens to have right by his side two Steel Ranger power armor back-up guards, armed with mounted battle saddles loaded with mini guns that was pointing straight at her.
The kind of firepower would obviously be completely over killed, but I am confident that they are using rubber bullets, right!?!? Oh please Celestia, no pony goes stupid enough to test their strength by starting a riot in all this madness!
We all watch the argument forming between the two with the Stable guard starting with a marshal tone, “I'm sorry Miss Sales, but your name is not on the list!”, as he look back on his clipboard and pointed it out to her.
Stable just look back him with a death stare and scream furious as she speaks, “For your information, I have to be on the damn list, I work for Stable Tec. for crying out loud, “ as she was shoved her license badge with her green magical grasp right up to his face.
The body guards start of the revving of their guns, plus a few new guards arrived to point their weapons at the crowd around her. This action really created a big panic to push half the crowd away in fears of an unwanted attack. I was of course nervous as well, but kept to my stands body blocking my family in case the situation does could get out of hoof too fast.
The Stable guard then got irritated to quickly enough that lost control of himself enough to shove and pushed down the poor sales mare that shoved a wallet at his face and withdraw a 10mm pistol out from his left holster with his mouth and shockingly point it at her.
The guard look at her in anger as he started looking at fear in her eyes as she look at him for what he has done while down helpless. She was starting to get a nose bleed from her left nostril, caused by the good shove-blow to her head and chest.
Both stood silent, with the remaining crowd watching them all in silence with the sounds of sirens are still echoing the entire region, still remind every pony that not the time to be starting a huge fuss over who can get in or not.
The guard broke the silence and said, “Miss, I am not warning you again, leave now and seek safe shelter somewhere is as best as you can!” As he glare at her and still stare into her eyes as she stares back. During the whole stare down, I was pretty sure I heard very little clear enough to hear him make the pistol ‘click’ with it firing hammer set, a sound that I was able to hear as I was the closest out everyone to the aggressive due.
She then watch at him for a minute with a glare that said ‘You all are will go the Tataurus for this’. Then she got up and walked away in defeat in her trot. Everyone just watching her looking down as she scoot away in grief as she lost any hope for safety. Watching her walk away made me feel bad for her, as I adore her determination in being a desperate mare with needs. But, I can’t worried for her now, as Faith and my son is my main priority.
I then heard the Stable guard put away his gun (along with the other guards easing up on their weapons), pick up his dropped clipboard, and beginning to get back to his duties like nothing as happen.
He then look up to us and said “Next”, as I then catch his voice ring out to me and Faith as we walk up to him.
I then, replied my answer, “The name is Craft Dream, I believe me, my wife, and foal are on the list. He then look at us, and back at the list with looks of resentment, probably already dealt with many families he had to turn down for his job sake.
He then saw change in glance as he found what he looking for and said, “One eligible, wait a sec! ‘V.I.P.’ and his family, well ain't some pony is as lucky as you to be be granted special spot and entry at our latest Stables”, he said with some looks of happiness to see the Co President’s stamp that was next to my name and family names as he show to me. I saw that the Stamp, which happens to be a approved hoof-print along with the cutie mark of the famous Apple Bloom herself.
The guard then step aside and said out loud, “Go on ahead and step this way sir, up the hill!” As we follow his order and begin to run up the hill.
The fenced in hill that contain the Stable Tec. Stable Entrance, is very well protected recent construction of the fallout shelter, especially more so now that their is a angry mob. The top of the hill was decked up with scatter constructing boxes and equipment of sort lying all round the perimeter. At the very summit of the whole hill is the very ‘entrance’ to the Stable 145. The entrance was surprisingly different from the ad flyers or TV commercials as it entrance to appears to be some sort of giant “hatch” door into the ground, instead of a Standard horizontal pneumatic hull door that goes straight into the shelter. I could best assume that I am literally standing on top of the entire shelter, if this hills was even here before my family moved in.
Where the door hatch was also where the rest of the new accept occupants are gathered on top of, dressed in somewhat upper fancy class attire. The kind of attire that I would see properly dress in the downtown Manehattan or the Canterlot area.
There were also nearby Stable guards standing by at the hatch’s control pillbox viewing the entire complex. We then join the occupants on top of the hatch as order by a nearby stable guard to go towards.
We stood with five ponies, if I were to also add to that with another three to add us to the count. I can see that none of the members of the crowd were married or have a family, as I can’t spot any engagement necklaces or rings. Me and Faith’s “rings” are simple a gold plated Titanium metal type of ring that wraps around our right fore hoof, kind of looks more like a big bracelet and probably similar to it financially. I look back at mine, then at Faith’s ring, especially engraved by me for her, as I still see my bond with her is still strong as the type of metal that it was made out of with a smile.
The guards then look back the crowd as they set up by the pitbox. A feminine voice spoke out from a microphone, wired to the pill box’s control room. I can best assume that this was the Stable door control box, due to some more wiring connect to the very hatch we stand on.
The voice was coming from the pony inside the box, behind the controls as she spoke through the microphone built-in, “Attention, citizens of Sanctuary Valley, please remain where you are as we are beginning to lower you into the Staple!” as she said with some excitement while being stern with the currently situation!
I then turn to my wife to see how very well the whole situation that we got ourselves into was not making easy for her as she hyperventilated the whole time, our son was also being wake by all the noise and his mother lack of remaining calm. I did what was necessary to help her through with this, by hugging her and the foal together.
I then look at her with determination in my eyes as I say to her, “Look Faith, we are almost there, You, me, and Bottle Cap! We are all going to be safe and together, no matter what happens outside this door!”
She looks at me more with tears growing while still holding crying Bottle Cap in her magical grasp, and said with a tone, “That not the only thing that I am worry about, bright world we started living is falling back to the shadow of this war!” as i look at her confused at her cries of fear.
She continues with even more concern with, “Don’t you see, we can’t run away from our past, we just can’t run away and hide forever!” as finish her response with grief and possible defeat in her eyes as looks to me like I just given up on her.
But I didn’t want to give on her, even if she must be on her completely breakdown in all this great panic. As I try to ask of her what is going on so i can understand what shy trying to tell me, something hard and possible little rough on the edge hit me directly in the back of the head that knock me down to the ground.
I stutter in my collapse as the object really did a number on my head from behind unknown, making slowly lose awareness of my surroundings. Also the pain on my head was even worse than before, due to my scars taking the head trauma to whole new level, caused by the blow of anonymous object.
My wife saw the unknown attack that befalls me and panic even more, as I am losing focus of her as I land on the metal hatch. What I can bear to see while losing conscious are bunch of scenarios that happen
First thing that I see is not the ground but the darken orange skies as my body has been turn from having to see the ground. Everything seen my left eye has been tainted red completely, so I was forced to closes that one in hope to get a better clear images. I couldn't tell who has lifted me and turn it around to see Faith’s pleading face as she looks at me in distress as to what has happen to me. I assume that Faith has got some assistance from nearby stranger to help me back up as she examine my new wounds.
I was able to hear guards shouting out orders at the crowd, claiming some pony started an attack, the next I hear were screams of panic made louder follow by shots fired by rifles and shotguns. I could possible think that someone in the crowd got lucky and strong enough to throw rock like object, over the entire checkpoint and was able to strike me down good with it. All I think of before blacking out, is “Nice shot, you not so lucky bastard!”
A loud explosion can be heard from a great mileage away, too bad I black out at the very seconds it started. As I open my eyes to see the true horror happen over on the other side of the entire region. I saw them in war propaganda made by the Ministry of Image, but not compare to the real sight of the danger that haunts the world we lived in. I saw the enormous green mushroom cloud explosion that stretched to be about one and half miles long in sizes in height.
But where it strike was surprising to me. It seems to have strike far north of our location here Sanctuary Valley, safely around possible 48 miles away in total displacement from our location. Strangely, the explosion didn’t even strike the city of Trotson itself or any other major towns nearby, instead the blast site appears to be the hit mountain line far north-west of the entire region. I couldn’t think straight about it, as my heads struggling to processing all of this at once,not to mention a very agonizing pain right now. What along with explosion was the created green shock wave forming from the balefire and rapid spreading across the entire region.
Many gathering flocks of birds of all sorts, were instantly spook from the balefire, as they plague the already green illuminated skies with black dots. Something catches my eyes as I notice more details about the cloud city northeast of the region. It appears that the migration of Pegasus have already gather at the city and the remaining Enclave Pegasus are “pushing” the cloud city away from their current location. In fact, they are moving the entire damn cloud away from the explosion by heading towards the bay, out into the ocean. What in M.o.A.’s minds are they thinking, trying to protect and push the entire Pegasus's old capital away from a balefire explosion.
I then glance around the entire valley one last time of the major town between us and the balefire far north, will be the next somewhat unprotected target by the shock wave of the one balefire. I known that town historical best as as it represented the unicorn race original “capital”. Like its brother town and sister town just far east from here; they all are historically accurate origins of the homelands of ponykind in the pre-classical era. Their history was said to be left forgotten and abandoned for quite a long time, way before the rise of our currently sister monarchy. Now, I as witness the historical, gem mining large town get completely wiped from face of history again as it disappear in a cloud of green debris. As the balefire shock wave came in closer and closer spreading across the entire Trotson region, now appearing more dangerously closer to our location as I see it all think my last thoughts as I blackout again for another short period of time.
I did hear lots of screams and lots of panic going from just about from every pony from everywhere, as they all witness the end of the world coming straight towards us in a green wave of possibly unbearable burning Taint inbound. I then reopen my eyes again, weakly to the sounds of Faith panic with a terrifying scream along with Bottle Cap crying in the worst case scenario for any infant pony, really terrifying me alone just to listen to them being in danger again, awake up and see them again.
As I open my eyes, I was synced with another sound that was different from everything that was going on. A sound, beside the sirens wailing the background that has long been silence to the sounds of just about every living thing that see doom in their place, was a sound that speaks only miracle to those that were near my place on the hatch. It was the sound of the hatch below slowly starting to run like a machine, a mechanical device that is almost as similar to a elevator begin to run for the first time.
The hatch had really got to every pony in the group’s head as to what they are standing on was a elevator, that was currently begin to not run smoothly like the latest auto wagon's engine but slowly works it’s beautiful magic of begin it slow then faster paced of descent to the Stable. It was starting to work up to everyone has a miracle that is surface to them greatly, if only get beat the shock wave by about 3 miles away and shrinking very fast by the second.
I was able to look back once last time as we descend, viewing the entire world around slowly losing it’s amazing alive lush colors of life slowly disappear in bright green, red (I am thinking my left eyes is not making anything easier of recognizing all the colors due to half the things I see are shaded blood red), and now darken black clouds that are slowly becoming tainted green. Last thing that I notice before being submerged and my view being blocked by the hatch’s entrance, was beyond the blast site of the still glowing balefire mushroom cloud, I could of swore to Celestia, I saw two more Balefire Explosion occur after the first one. But, the thing that bother me the most, I then just couldn't named it right there
All this thinking, really made my head go really dizzy as I blurring out even more. What finally knock me out into blackness as the incoming shock wave reached us and knock everyone that was standing still on the elevator down to the metal hatch! Couldn’t even tell if the hatch was close in time to even protect us from the shock wave or that we are slowly dying. Everything was becoming pitch black to me as I closed my eyes, accepting my unconscious and possibly the curse has final claim me to it’s eternal sleep with a dash of fear and a pinch of depression.
I then woke up to see the skies all green with black ashes and ember among the air. I stirred as I try to get up, but with no success as my body refusing to get up! Because of the new and unbearable paralyzing pain that my body was feeling instantly became unbearable enough that I collapse to the ground again. What struck me with a sense of remembrance was the kind of pain I was feeling, it was the same type of pain that suffer at the end of my military career. The ringing in my ear, the irritated eyes at first as it slowly clears up, my hoofs shaking a little too much due to nerve loss...
Oh for Luna’s sake, I am having another one of my damn flashbacks again! I was begin to see through it as clear as some bookworm’s glasses, as my world was shaping the familiar landscape of the battlefield that I will always be scarred to remember as my reality’s terrible nightmare.
First hints towards flashbacks, is that sudden loss of my ‘blood eye’ when I went dark from the blackout. I can see everything better with both my eyes now, instead of one. Second, I never received a red eye, recalling my medical reports stating my head trauma received several severe slashes across my forehead, that also received a severe blow to my head that completely wiped my memory clean with no evidence of such a source. Both head injuries did cause same scenarios for making me blackout after the attacks, but for my current case left me feeling different than before.. I was feeling weak, helpless, suffering like a shot down animal that will died if left unattended.
I was slowly starting to gain some control to my muscle as I begin to stir and slowly get up into prone position by flipping my body around. Worst mistake ever as I felt a great deal of pain hitting me in all the worst place. I was so sure that very the artillery shell that struck me down, had really caused several internal body damage, mostly my brain that makes getting around much of chore to succeed in, not without great pain to follow. Bad enough that I need... some Painkillers asap, as I slowly started to feel like I can shut down any moment , follow with a groan to express my strong pain as I laid down flat like position on the soft ground.
When some time has passed, I slowly lifted my head up to see what around me and the environment I was in, It soon came back to me much worse than pain I was feeling. I was lying on laying right next to bodies, bodies of fellow ponies of all forms of races, color, and size. Bodies of fellow brother soldiers that I grew to work with and serve for our belief in protecting Equestria, killed by many forms of immediate dangerous hazards this wasteland of war has left for them to die to. They were some covered in blood, others having bone fragments and others that were darken to a black crisp by whatever fire explosion that hit them hard and fast before they can process their last thought.
The landscape I know too well to bear is No Soul’s Land, a uninhabited wasteland that the mission fellow comrades had orders to obey and achieved. The mission was in truth to it’s difficulty as a suicidal run crossing the fortify yet forbidden enemy border.
The results left me as a broken sole survivor to live and witness the horrors of the battlefield as see my brother in arms get killed by many known forms of death the trench warfare has to offer! Gunned down by Machine Guns, aerial assaulted by inbound dragon fireballs or Zebra artillery, bleeding out to down by any of them, falling for unknown traps like mines or bear traps bury in the muddy grounds. I can name it all, but I don’t want to think any more of it as I am too scared to imagine all that I can remember.
The last sight I seen was fear at its greatest for me, Fire. It started in the far distance across the battlefield with a faint glow, and it then spread across the entire battle field like wild fire in a forest. What burn so sudden and at great efficiency the fire, was unclear off for me, but soon the entire land is bath in a sea of light.
It soon hit me like a comet as the hot gas ignited me all in flames and roasted my face hot enough and also blind me of whatever horrible world that I was stranded in. All I can see is the color red and yellow then becoming blue as the temperature rises. I feel the sizzling and unbearable sensation that that makes earlier injuries just so unfit for what I am really feeling for pain. As I laid helpless in this forsaken graveyard as I lay there to be burn to death, alive. I scream to the top of my lungs as slowly lose fur and also flesh to the most dangerous element of life.
I then hear voice as I suddenly feel instant change in body temperature from burning internally to chilling ice bath, while also feeling less dizzy and more “alive”!
Awaken to the new flashing light that was converted from blue to white, but to see that the light is coming from a few spot on the gray shiny “sky”. The “metallic sky” soon hits me as clear as glass of water that I am not hallucinating anymore of that horrible nightmare. Instead the lights soon became clear to recognized that was looking at ceiling lights, while the overheads were that lights are coming from was actually a ceiling that I was facing where I laid. Where I laid feels really too comfortable to be dirt, ashes, bodies…. It was feeling more leather like a bed padding but not too comfortable enough to sleep on all day as stutter more as I blink a lot in concentration on my surroundings.
I then notice on the left of my sights towards the ceiling, the face of my beloved mare standing above me as she look down to me. The looks on her face show worry at great potential as she holds my left forehoof with her front hoof. The expression that she giving me felt like for me that she dumping caring and cuteness all in my head at the very moment I see her again, happy to be alive and assure that I am not dead yet. She soon change expression when she looks down to my chest more than my face, as if I am miss something that seem little unnatural at first.
I then follow her gaze towards my chest to see something that really soon hits me in mood swings, from feeling so happy to sudden jab to my heart. Literally, without realizing what has happened during my unconscious, I somehow have gain a huge syringe needle that is jabbed into my chest like a arrow nailing its target. I soon came to my sense first thing as the pain follow with my huge groan-screamish as of hard the needle puncture through my slight thick and bare naked coat while be able to go through the skin and muscle.
I then felt myself gets pressed down to the table-bed I was laying down on, by not only Faith but another a male unicorn. Both are aware of medical problem and stance, along with my new felt reactions, that they were doing a good job and keeping me down to the stable as I struggle against them because of the sudden new pain that hits me unexpectedly. It would be my best guess that if they didn’t stop me right then, I would probably panic to quickly and aggressive enough to going unconscious, again!
The Stallion appears to be the Stable doctor accordingly to his attire consisted of a lab coat and glasses, with a jumpsuit underneath it all. He appears to be a cream charmal coated stallion unicorn with green eyes and yellow mane, that stand out to be looking very too good for his medical profession here in the stable. His cutie mark is consist of a Stable Door with a medical Red Cross on it, appears to take on a form of a emblem attachment that attached on his flanks, on the full body Stable jumpsuits. His name tag label on his jacket, reads “Dr. Platinum Health”.
Dr. Health soon calmly said, “Whoo, easy there! You are safe right now!!” as he reassure me of what just happen has past long ago.
I took his assurance very well enough, especially with Faith being with him in helping me enough, that I begin to breath and calm down, let the pain go away as the doctor uses his magic to removed the needle from my chest carefully and properly clean the wound with a carefully wrapped gauze wrapped around my chest. Whatever was in that needle as not only made feel better in health but also made the pain go away much faster, as if the effect was close to imitate. Specialized Ministry of Peace’s medicine and/or health potions, might have been what in the needle.
He then spoke to me with curious and stern tone, “Are you feeling alright, do you remember anything after the attack?” as he puts away the used needle at a table nearby.
I took a moment breather as I think up as to what has happen, on the table as I soon speak my best answer with, “I do not know?! I just slowly blacking out as the world around me tremble and vanished! I thought for sure of everything that was happening that I was slowly dying. And.. Anddd that...” as I get stumble upon my thoughts as to what happen but with no clear results to explained.
He then stop me right there as he puts his right forehoof to my mouth and said, “Take it easy, We all know what has happen. The good thing is that you're not going to die to a rock to the head!” He then added as he then removes his hoof with a small smile with, “You suffer a slightly major head trauma on the way down to the entrance of Stable 145 from the elevated platform!”
My mind was flooded with questions to both the doctor and my love, from received a head trauma all the way to wondering where is my son, as I stood up in sitting position and notice that he wasn’t with Faith. I then came up with my best sum-it-all question with a worry but curious tone, ”What has happened while I out cold?” as I look at both of them for answers.
Dr. Health then answer first, “During the unfortunate arrival to Stable 145 that had you all been brought up A.S.A.P. to my attention, you were knocked unconscious by a medium sized bludgeon object that I can best assumed a rock, that made some close to sever concession on the back of your head.
“Such treatment has forced me to save your life from internal bleeding in your brain using a mixture of Healing potions and Painkillers that I administrate into your system.” as he point out the needle in the table, next to big container of a used yellow M.O.P. medical box.
He look more into my medial autopsy report from his Pipbuck mounted on his left forehoof, and then added with“ I am certain you have notice the red eye effect that the trauma has caused.
He then look at me with a surprise voice that spoken in relief, “I am very surprised that you manage to live, despite of all of you past condition that you went through in your life in the Army!”
I replied with a slight defeated look with my best grin, “I just surprised that I go taken down to a thrown rock by a civilian!” as begin to feel more miserable than that because of the attacker’s ultimate fate outside the shelter.
Faith then puts a hoof on my shoulder as she begins to say, “Look, it not your fault that ponies let out their last bit of steam!”
She then notice my looks of disapproval as to what she think of the poor innocent bastard that just died. She then loses a bit of that cheerful smile to a small grin, realizing her fault.
“Look, I am sorry for what I said, it was them or us in that scenario, and I for one am sure that you are more important to me than anyone else, especially for Bottle Cap, Dream!!” as she tries to cheer me up a little.
I then still look back at her as soon took her word for it and just grin to with her as I said, “I guess you are right, what matter to me know is that I am still alive, and that you and Bottle Cap are here with me, safe and sound in our new home.”
Part of me feels guilt for thinking that thought out as thousands of innocent perish in an instant, but the other part of me would said that Stable Tec. will just be the “scapegoat” for me for my morale. Oh, I could imagine the Celestia’s heaven being filled with complaints to her, that their survivable could have been made if Stable Tec. offer more shelter.
She then changes the subject as she answer more of question with, “Also, if you wonder about where our son is, he is in good hooves by a dear friend of mine in the medical lobby outside that door.” Her new expressions change tells me that she excited about who is our generous caretaker, with wider grin and eyes.
I then look puzzled to her and ask her, “Ahhh yeah, Who could it be?!” as I feel more relief to know that Bottle is safe.
She then said, “You’ll see, she is known for her recent musical records that became a smashing hit in Trotson!”
Understanding Faith’s connection with many celebrities with her medical career as really seem to me that she very hype for whoever was outside the room. Sometime I always think she dreams becoming one herself, question is what her talent will beside healing?
Faith and the doctor then begin to finish cleaning up the mess left nearby as laid there to watch them. They both sync very well in working their medical degrees in proper putting away the equipment and disposing the needle that was jab into me minutes ago. They seem close together as if they were both long-known colleges, might have to ask Faith about her relationship with him later.
My heart feels like there’s a loose fragment is still stuck inside, creating pain in my chest. But the very good kind of pain as I feel unbelievable surge of pain becoming numbing to being bearable as it slowly go away, not just from my head but my head as well and now my body soon afterwards. Miracle restoration energy flows through my bloodstream as it goes straight to work in clearing up and repairing all the damage tissue and nerves in my body, as my health grew a lot better than before.
Curiosity got me wondering on kind of potion- medical content is in that needle that could give such positive effects in my body that I am struggling to understand what good it did for me. My head soon in minutes feels no pain as the medicine has fix my blurry vision and strong headaches almost instantly back to normal, like I never took a rock to the head. My legs and hoofs were soon becoming more easily controllable than before as the magic fix my brain better enough to allow me better focus.
Faith and the doctor finished up cleaning and came to me to help me up from the table, as I try to get a bearing with my legs. They did help with their fore hooves as support as I slowly try to work my lazy muscle out in trying to stand up on the floor from the table, without stumbling or falling.
Soon as I touch the floor, first thing I felt was cold metal floor, then it soon came to my chest and then my head, realizes that I am not giving off any more cloth warm from my clothes, I soon rubbed my eyes to try to regain a better view of my body to notice that I have no clothes on. In fact, I was completely stripped to my own grey fur, embarrassment soon grew fist thing against me as I try to quickly cover up my private parts while giving a light blush of my new ‘appearance’.
Both the doctor and my love look at me with an not amused expression as they notice my reaction as simply “What are you doing, you know that pony half time don’t wear clothes half the time, right?!”
The doctor then explained that during our entry of the Stables, he was authorized to removed my clothes of my unconscious body for reasons, mostly having to do with hygiene and necessity protocol revolve around removal of standard clothing from it new inhabitants. He also said my casual white shirt having to immediately disposed of it, because of the new blood stain found on the back of the shirt.
I then quickly relieve myself of my blush by taking a stand on four again. Not understanding my reason to react in cover myself more than the average pony logic of being naked in public. Maybe I have a soft spot for exposing myself to the world, that my preference in attire desires more towards cover as much of my body then to be partially exposed to worst case full exposed. The very sense in feeling comfortable in protection from danger, growing against morality of society, especially the world I lived in now.
I then relax and said, “Sorry for the reaction, just so used to wearing clothes more often than not, in public!” As I grin with a left fore hoof touching the back of my head, checking the wounds to see that they are clearly healed completely from the medicine.
Mr.Platinum then accept my apology as good to go and then waved to himself, signal us to follow him out of the medical room, as the door automatically open as he trot close to it. We obliged as we follow him out of the room.
Leaving the room and seeing the next room being the the medical bay lobby, which contained a more pony friendly theme lab-clinic. The room itself is very wide opened space that contains not only a few desks, labs tables, computers, and file cabinets, but also a lounge that was very well decorated to appeal patients and visitors of them in waiting for service. All next to the main door, which I can tell by the windows next to it revealing the outside of the medical bay in the main hallway.
At the lounge is a earth mare holding Bottle Cap in her grasp as she sits nearby with a unicorn business pony. Both soon hear our arrival with our door give out a slight audible hydraulic motors sound when open and closed automatically.
The unicorn in casual business apparel, which give my first assumption of him working on a V.I.P. career. His coat is Olive green with mane that is too Olive red, it was very clear that the mane was made to be more slick in style for military Mohawk; but more ‘abandon’ style as it currently grown out, best estimate is that he used to be in the war at it finest hour. More details as I see from him is that that he bears in expressionless face, with a pair of black security shades that hides his eyes. I then figure out what his business he works for by the weapon he was holding in his pouch strapped to his right hip, that confirm his position as her bodyguard then a husband or dear friend. The weapons appears to be a 10mm pistol, specialized to be mouth-griped handle, still surprised he managed to get that through with Stable’s security. His body is slightly bulk in size and shape then mine, truly gives off a vibe that says, “Not going to happen!” if anyone has any individual has a plot to mess with the earth mare celebrity.
The earth mare in interest, wears a casual dress which is slightly fancy than any of the folks I seen entering the Stable, pretty unique enough to be one-of-a-kind. Her coat appears to be moderate opal type of color with mane color of a mix of dark indigo with highlights of purple, light orchid gray, and her also coat color as well. Her eye color are light aquamarine gray, as she looks back to me, giving of another vibe that she is gentle, kind and very caring for my case. Especially when it comes to taking care of my son as he sleeps peacefully in her hoofs where she sits. She appears to be humming a lovely lullaby as she gently rocks him as he sleep.
Faith then whisper loudly enough so that everyone can hear her while not audible to Bottle Cap and his nap time with, “Honey, this is Miss Coloratura, but she insisted that her friends called her ‘Rara’, only when not seen by the public.”
When the name Coloratura came to my ears, followed by another glance at Rara, a smile of mine grew wide by the minute. I am meeting the one and only ‘Countess Coloratura’, well known pop star of Equestria. She is one of my favorite singer, next to Sweetie Belle and Sandy Shores. She unlike others, have a more ‘direct’ appeal to her fans, as she adores fans and foals, especially both alike. When she is on her tours, she will arrange and host charity events to meet the school foals attending them, all against her manager’s judgement.
Despite how she live off the guidance of her manager, who rather put her on the spotlight more than near her adore fans. Believing in the whole imagery of transforming her into a high standard diva then a pop star. Personally despises him the moment that I met him the first time, as my latest meeting with Rara, as that what she likes to us to call her when I last met with her , that he met up with me personally and just went on to threaten me for hoof-shaken the “Coloratura” and calling her by her nickname. Parts of me, tells me that he being jelly for being friends with his V.I.P. client, the other tells me that he has no rights to keep me away from meeting my friends, as she loves my companionship, especially how she forced upon not giving any free time to meet with any of her old friends. Sooner or later, that asswhole is going to get from some pony who doesn't take his bossiness too kindly, unlike me now as I am a civilized pony, not a brave fighter.
I then said to her, in the same tone and volume level like Faith with, “I personally like to thank you for taking care my son while I was in in my worst state to care for him, Ms. Rara!” with a grateful look in my face, especially not seeing her manger around.
She then smiled and uses her right hoof, to shake my hoof and then said to me with beautiful voice, “Don’t worry, It’s a pleasure to be of assistance, in her desperate times and Bottle Cap in need of attention!”
I then said to her, “I pretty sure meeting you personally, is better than having Svengallop be part of it!” then rolled my eyes with ignorance as I looking around for any signs of him.
Miss Rara caught my acts and words, with a slightly irritated respond with, “Oh him, he didn’t make it in time, All I can says his he got what he deserved!” with similar irritated looks also that shed some light for me while while giving me a surprised reaction also as she was finally being directly about it.
I then begin to ask her, “Wait a sec, don’t you think that is little harsh to someone who may be a dick all the time, despite how he died in possible….?!?”
Just thinking of how his new form of hell was brought to him by green shock wave that instantly disintegrated him, if not the shock wave or the fallout balefire radiation may have already did in long and agonist painful death. Very dark but strangely amusing to me to think of such terrible death for some greedy manager.
“Yeh, he did provide me with great gigs and profits for my career!” she said as she thinking back to her young times in her career working with him
“But, overtime he been from vague to legit taken his advantage over me too far, as he made my schedule contain even more deadline that made it impossible to host any charity events or even school events that I was loved to do with my fans and audience” as she vented red to then calm down to be back to calm personality again.
I then agreed with her with, “I don’t blame you on that one, if the thing that claims to be your manager was here right now and if as to ever touch my son, I will...
My wife then stop me from venting by touch me in the right shoulder and give me a look that pointed out that I was having anger thoughts again and I need to calm down.
I then stop myself , thanks to her silent message, took a breather, than spoke out my thoughts with care and pride with, “Apologies, I tend to have anger management problems, I not really the kind of pony who would go out there and make threats!” as I give my innocent grin to Rara.
I then started picking up Bottle Cap with my magic, in order for me to carry him myself Surprisingly though, my magic is not that strong then usual as unintentional dropped sleeping Bottle Cap to the ground in the middle of the levitating transaction.
I was very lucky while being in trouble the most by Faith as she got my action before in just the nick of time, in catch him in her magical grasp over mine.
She give me the “You and I are going to have another ‘talk’ later” look as she careful set him down in her already set-up baby harness. She then walks away happy as I stood there in a trance, scare in gulps and stump moment, knowing that I fucked up.
Dr. Health and Rara just snicker at my defeat, as I just gave my small grunt and small embarrassment blush to that scene.
I then sarcastically spoke with pride, “I am hoping that first thing my colt would not remember me by is that he drop him onto the ground for the first time he lives in the stable!”
“Welp, there goes my World’s Greatest Dad mug!” as I then give a defeated look to everyone.
The Doctor then interrupt with, “That World’s Best Dad mug actually going have to be Stable’s Only Dad, according to your autopsy and records here in Stable 145, ranks you and your family as the only eligible family here in our Stable.”
I then respond with a curious question with excitement, “Oh, is there such a mug like that in the gift store here?!” as wondering if this Stable have it very own general store-gift shop like many other Stable that I heard about in the commercials.
Platinum just then put a hoof to his chin as he think his thought over for a sec, give me a look with promise. Then gave a straight answer after the short pause, “Sadly no, but this Stable has something more interesting in stock for your future.” as I then just got let down badly while mares gave each other silent giggle.
I then just sigh, as I know for the fact this Stable is going to be a ‘fantastic’ one, I mean what will you expect from a fallout shelter-community that main purpose in life is to substance and survive the balefire ‘winter’ according outside.
I begin to go back to my final question with the Doctor while also add more to it with, “What has happen when I was blackout? Doc, and also what is going on when you mean that we are going to be living in our living ‘pods’, should you mean bedrooms??” as I ask too much with more confusing than curiosity.
Doctor then realise back to what I was asking him earlier and jump back to that with hoof up to every pony in the room to his attention, “Ahh yes, almost forgot about that, Mr. Dream, thank you for reminded me!” as he looks back around the room to see everyone was watching him as he use his right forehoof to press on his right ear. What I can tell was that he was sort of trying to communicate with some pony outside this room with the new featured built in two-radio transceiver on his Pipbuck device connect to his right forearm (assume the headset on his right ear when he press his hoof on it to listen better, but also he activate it and was quietly talking to someone on the other end of the line.
He then finished with a nod of approval and said with a look of approval for us, “All right every pony, I have been granted permission from the Stable Overseer to take you all to your designated living pods!”
Then looks to me, adding more details for me with, “You have through a traumatic experience while suffer a head trauma that needed my medical attention that allow me permission to delayed you and your family from being immediate put into your pods!”
He then look at his pip buck and spoke his final assessment with, “You were out for about 5 hours since your entry here in Stable 145, couldn’t leave you alone without your family and ‘friends’!” as he look back to Coloratura and Faith with a smile.
He then taps in some more inputs onto his pipbuck, then press a button which ejects a holotape gem card. I seen one of these new Stable brands that they offer to share with the public of Trotson, they are basically different color gem embed cards that served like a memory processor for any device added, especially work any type of gem tape for their latest limited disrupted edition Pip Buck 3050.
Like the one Dr. Health is using, it it appears a lot like your average Pip Buck in other known stables outside the Trotson region, but with recent funding and donation by some unknown sponsors for Stable Tec. The differences are some new added features and redesign the original Pipbuck 3000 to be a much better improvement, sadly though I rumors that their sponsor that added during the bargain also incognito agreement in keeping the new design-brand to only Trotson issued Stables. They also don’t give much detail about it, as it only given to Stable issued inhabitants, beside that it still offer the same basic function as a standard pipbuck with additional features yet to even be disclose to the public. I just can’t wait for my very own Pip Buck to try out it new secrets, I heard rumors that you can play new Gem Tapes games on the arm-held device.
I then see the Platinum places the holotape in a nearby safe under the desk, as he locks it up, probably to keep track of records of the new inhabitants. He then finished up, and then look back to us as we prepare to get ready to leave and then he acknowledge us with a smile, “All right, let's get going everyone!” as we follow him towards the other door, leaving the medical bay.
Stable 145 is not what I would see has your perfect built in underground town like what the salemare has promised us. The entire structure is built to be look like some sort of perfect fallout shelter with only one problem in mind, it is freaking cold in here! The place is built to withstand a multiple balefire on top, but have they not considerate of thinking of adding any fire chip, among the essential list of necessary chip needed to offer some comfort in our new home before. I was beginning to question this new home-shelter functions or maybe some sort of flaw that may have occurred during my blackout, who knows. All I can do is just breath out air and watched my breath form in mist form, as i was already developing goosebumps and shivering a little more on my hoofs.
At least, I think of another positive thought when it comes to living in the Staples, no more sunlight probably forever means no more Heat cycle with any mares, including Faith. But just has make a grin on what is to come for me, just as Faith was slowly looking at me notice my grin and said, “Don’t think, that we survive a balefire attack, you suffering head trauma, almost letting go of our son is going to change the fact that I am going to let you go on our promise of you give me a ‘good time’ tonight!” as she look with a sly toned with a finished wink at my behind.
I gulped at the thought now, knowing for sure no matter what life throws at me, my Faith always find way to make it so that she get what she wants all the times! Lucky, not so rough though, but I am afraid of planing on trying to test her fury levels if that was the case. I then try to get my mind of the question by glancing around as we follow the doctor.
It was kind of surprising of how the Stable Medical Bay look completely different from the rest of the Stable rooms and hallways, for the fact that it look like your average clinic room. The rooms were painted and completely walled in flat like in average room in any outside, giving it that friendly feel that would get Faith to called her home work place, with the most advanced medical equipment MoP could could offer.
The outside of it was completely different story, has it appearance appears like we are in a clean, advance giant icebox. The walls are covered in moisture that is froze over time into frost, the lights are bright in glowing blue with little red and green as to the background. The floor was metal with steel flooring or with metal grates in other parts of the Stable as we walk; the windows are viewing other rooms, inside all of them appear to be row and rows of “pods” that bended sideways. Pipes of sorts are scattered all over the walls, some appeared to be Oxygen pipes provide us with air, while the rest appear to be painted red are appearing more dangerous cold as the pipes themselves are having frost forming more. The pods take on appearance of a bed with machine built-in underneath it all, with the entire bed cover by a glass dome. Not much I can think of for the pod’s purpose here in the entire Stable, but these pods look too advance to be more like medical beds then a luxury home beds.
I then later ask the doctor with a curiosity and slight nervous question, “Uh, Dr. Health, what does this Stable have to offer for ‘safe and great community’, all that I am seeing is these domed beds and nothing else?” as I notice there wasn’t anything that you could find in a community in this Stable. No dining area, proper bedrooms, classrooms, restrooms, etc. The signs that I see left to right during our walk, point out there was Utility Room, the entrance. Security room and the Overstallion’s room, and strangely a ‘control room’.
Doctor then fully understand that question very easily as he responded very quickly, “Oh, that is because we Stable 145, unlike the other Stables; is offering up a new form of living out the balefire attack by we will undergoing it all in latest Cryogenic Sleeping Programs!”
I then said with a confuse look as to what he just said to me with, “Cryogenic Sleeping Prog...?!” as I try to process what he said. One thing let to another as I begin laugh so hard at what he said what the best ‘story’ he made up, I then said while still grinning at the story, “You got to be such a excellent comedy man, Doc, that you had to make up a ridiculous make up some highly advanced technology to freeze you for century!”
I then patted him on the back as I laugh my ass off of what I just heard, “I swear you can make fine Science Fiction writer, you know the kind that should be working at Ink Mare Comics!”, as I said sarcastically to him with a more happier grin while looking at him.
The doctor didn’t find any of that amusing at all, as he look at me with wide eyes and big frown that telling me he was making up stuff. I continue to stare at his eyes as he looks at me like I disrespected his professional career, that I wiped my smug grin to a embarrassing frown myself. A slight pause of silent was made, which made me feel more awkwardly than anything.
I then broke the silence with a innocent smile with, “So yeah, Cryo sleeping, very impressive feat you made here, I guess!” as I then begin to question fast advancement of Science of our country. I mean serious, How fast can one be from started making bullets and missile to magical energy lasers and now Cryo Sleeping in period of just decades of war.
The doctor then get us back on track with, “As I was saying, I was so sure that you all, except the Dream family, are aware that this Stable specialized for an major science experiment that allows us to preserve our generations, for quite a while until the end of the balefire's fallout passing.” as he spoke with clear and direct answer, especially at me as he looks at me with very not amused frown.
Hey give me a break, I wasn’t informed of the experiment when granted entry for free to this stable like all the other stable inhabitants who probably paid like hell for their entry. As I then look down with that embarrassing blush still glowing pink on my face, while making silent mumbles cursing the salemare for not giving me all the details. I didn’t even know that I am going to be sleeping on a bed for the rest of my life here in the Stable.
Then Platinum tries to encourage everyone mood, mostly for my sake of embarrassment with positive news of cryogenic sleeping with a smile with, “Think of the positive, while you may be put sleeping for whenever we feel the Stable is safe for your ‘awaken’, that we may be able to leave the Stable, almost like you slept for a day for your sake.”
I then got confused like everyone else in the room, even genius planner of the family Faith was lost in thought as to what he said. I then ask, hopefully not another dumb question with, “Can you elaborate on what do you mean, ‘almost like you slept for a day for our sake’?”
He then actually took my question more better in mood of curiosity then like answering a bad student with, “Oh, you see cryogenic sleeping for you as you sleep, would be appear to you all like your average everyday sleeping!”
We all listen very closely as he stopped by the windows, revealing one of the Cryo pods room, with already occupy ponies sleeping in the pods, with their entire appearance completely tainted their entire bodies colors to blue taint that makes them look like frozen, happily sleeping ponies statues. He then explains, “You see, our machines are made with built in with the most interesting magic gem known as the Ice Gem, that allows us completely freeze our patient body solid shut.”
The responses, spooked Faith, fear in her eyes form when she heard the name Ice Gem, as she asked the doctor with, “But, Doctor doesn't the Ice Gem we know in in recent gem studies tells of recent hazard ability of any living organism that touch the gem, suffer major ice burns that can leads to permanent limp damage to even death at most case?”
He then notice my wife’s professional medical question and then added more to his Statement with, “Ohh yeah,You all nothing to fear of the experiment hazards as we committed to two things, Success and Safety, for everypony here in Stable 145!” as he added more detail of the pods with, “You see the machine doesn't just contain one gem but two to ensure the safety part in our policy, as you can see, MoP has offer their most prized medical technology in developing these built in life support gem system, that ensure that the patient is not suffering the ice gem’s deadly freezer burn.” He then completely end his statement with pride in his voice, “After all, I, nest to all the medical supervisors are here to supervise and make sure the machine are still running to your due time to be awaken.”
The monitor attached to the machine that is under the pods, shows what looks like heartbeat system, along with other medical systems that hybrid with the power system to the machine itself to keep the machine running and ‘freezing-sleeping’ ponies alive and undisturbed. All the heartbeats are showing slightly below average breathing, which tell me that for sure that yes they are peacefully sleeping without problems at all.
I then ask my final question with, “And when is our due time exactly?”
He answer with slightly that not sure look on his face with, “ According to Stable-Tec standard operating procedures, our Stable will remain sealed until Stable Tec sent upon us radio transmission of the ‘All-Clear Signal’, otherwise the Overstallion will decided upon opening the Stable Door”
He then look back to us with a pinch in his muzzle with his hoof, as he tries to think his last thought with, “I sadly, can’t give you a exact date has to when you could be awaken, but we can assure you all that when you do awake it will be a whole new world out there to thrive off. Better future for us all!”
As we all known for sure the end of the world, just happen right outside this shelter, we all just hopefully don't give up our hopes and dream of a better “tomorrow” for we awake up to. We give a long moment of silence for all those who have suffered the life of the Great War, both sides of that fought in them, in the fight and those who support it as well. I gave myself salute in the best pride look, despite too depressed to even show it off; dedicated to my brother-in-arms, including the one at the Veteran memorial event that I was unable to attend at this moment.
The salute was notice by the Doctor Platinum as he to saluted along with me, pretty sure he fought in the war on a different battlefield with another division, probably working the combat medic position before working this position. I then, silent thank him with a nod for his support on the Equestrian Military.
Then, the doctor finished his salute with everyone finished theirs, interesting enough Rara’s bodyguard starting sniffing a tear to then slowly complete breakdown, probably how our salutes remind him of some family members or dear friends of his, that were in the military at the time of the balefire attacks. Coloratura then comfort him with a pats on his back as he cries to making him feel better, I am so sure that that unknown guard seem nice kind of guard that has bonding experience with Miss Rara, after all who doesn’t want to make a grown mare grow all motherly for him, since they only got each other.
Bodyguard just then blurted out in tears with, “My mother and sister were at Canterlot when the balefire were dropped, before making it here, I heard through news broadcasts that there Balefire attack there that was different from the others.” He took a pause to think more of his thoughts out.
He then came back and finished with “The balefire attack was not just ‘pink’ explosion instead of green, but it was dangerously poisonous from those caught in it; but from what I lasted heard that the city is being protected by the two rulers of Equestria through their magical barrier but news tells that that can’t hold for who know how long before….” he then goes back to crying to realization of the horror that have dealt to his doom family.
The sadness was being up within me when news of loss loved ones and friends, I am more in shock of this one due to the new information being possibly vital for Equestria sake. The Goddess of the Sun and Moon, co-president of our great nation, about to slowly losing their power-strength to protect the city and then suffocated to whatever was inside that ‘pink’ balefires has done to the capital. The fear of losing dear princess is just really bring tears to my eyes, as to what will our morals will be afterwards.
As soon as everyone was slowly settle down with our loss and to our new lives, the doctor then proceeded us to our assigned rooms that has our assigned pods. When we arrived, the room was slightly smaller than the others we have seen in display as it offers, more comfortable looking red padding. There is group of ponies, 3 in particular while wearing the same attire as Platinum, as they spread out throughout the room, doing a routine like inspection on setting up the open pods that may be ours.
The doctor then gets one of the staff’s attention with a slightly louder voice, “How are the pods doing? Doctor Heart Burn”
The staff that heard her name called, stop her worked through her clipboard and look back to us, her appearance that fits her name has do with her looks bearing mostly blonde color both by mane and coat color, her mane style similar to Faith but with more disheveled from her work and more darker color that i would consider her, “a dirty blond” color. Her cutie mark emblem consist of a Stable door with a “heart on fire” symbol on it?!
She then catches the doctor’s question with a bit of stress yet slightly happier tone with, “Busy, but we are able to successively configured the pods; as you requested, sir.” Notice, how she seem lost and sort of new to this establishment.
She then asked a similar question with, “Are the new occupants ready for sleep, sir?” as she look at the rest of us then to me with a looks of nervousness as she then said, “I am little concern for his health, in case his trauma causing any problems during the freezing process!” as then look back at the Platinum.
Platinum respond to her with honest answer with, “I can say for sure, that Mr. Craft Dream is ready with the procedures as I have already have to administer a Health potion through needle work while he was unconscious, might be slightly wobbly from the added mixture of Painkillers, but perfectly capable of living through the freezing process with no trouble at all!” as he retells his work about me.
The nurse then smiled to his response and speaks, “All right then, every pony is ready now before we processed we need all of you to put on your thermal jumpsuit, that my colleagues will handed out.”
The nearest staff member started picking up nearby stacks of blue packets i assume contain our new attire for the sleep, which she starting to walking to each of us and given us a packet. The plastic packet, contains a blue attire with the packet label the Stable number, 145 in gold colors. I open it up from the zipper up packet to remove the attire which rolled out into a light blue, full body cover jumpsuit with a yellow line around the neck, middle, and sleeves as I then used my better focus telekinesis to stretch it out the design. All I can said about it is that looking pretty snazzy for a jumpsuit, unlike the others he seen in advertisement of the standard Stable jumpsuit that take on a form of a...
Nurse Heart Burn then spoke behind me as I jumped a bit from my trance of the suit with, “Already liking the new design for the suit, I see?” as she said with a friendly greeting.
I then breath a little from the surprise and said, “Yeah, look completely neat, I was thinking of the difference of this jumpsuit unlike the ones I seen in other Stables, from your company’s advertisements.
She then giggled a little, probably the surprise she caused and my reaction, and then go on to explain to me the design of this jumpsuit. On how the yellow stripe on the suit are actually made with gold foil, that offers that aids in heat-dissipation and also works with the suit's integrated bio-metric scanners. After all, this is a thermal suit, as I then recalled the chillness of this room and me being ‘naked’ making standing in the cold slightly less unbearable as time pass by.
I then ask her politely if she can turn away, for obvious reasons, despite everyone else but staff are stripping themselves off with their clothes to change into these new suits. The time it took for everyone, including me to change was like about ten minutes total, due to the girls struggling to put on their suits, because of size not fitting them. Strange, how I listen to Heart Burn explanation of the suit, told me how they are built-in magic enchanted threads (developed by the MoD’s tailors) that make the suit be just about any size fit all.
I sneak a giggle as I watch Faith slipping and tripping over her own jumpsuit, I was already dressed and ready five minutes ago, that I offer assistance earlier to help her but she gives me Bottle Cap since ‘she got this’! Interesting enough, Faith ‘struggles’ woke up Bottle Cap out of his nap time, but I was able to cheer him with not only the milk in his bottle as I feed him with it with my magic and left forehoof but also with this show that I am badly like to called it entertainment for me evilly.
She then manages to get both Heart Burn and Rara to come to her assistance as me, Bottle Cap, and every pony else with us watch them. Apparently they find her clumsiness funny as well, I then had to make the best line for situations like these, “Funny Honey, you tend to own more than half our closet with your attire, yet so struggle to fitting yourself into some nice body cover underwear.”
She then look at me with the most death glares eyes a wife could give to her husband when it comes to making joke of her humiliation. I then just said to her with the most friendly attitude, “I love you Faith!” as then walked up to her and kissed her right into the lips.
Her face grow from earlier pink blush of embarrassment to a darker glowing red one of affections. She then just get over it, little better then before, knowing my good to sometime bad sense of humor just to improved the mood of the environment. After all, who doesn’t want to make a mare smile or laugh at your mistakes sometimes. As I finished the kiss, while gifting her back our colt to her and looking at her face as well.
My sense in humor in making folks around me laugh, in desperate times, are just the few standards that I offer. Ever since my discharge in the war, I grew to trying to be more pacifist than usual towards violence, despite having my moments of anger management letting loose here and there. It was kind of hard to be friendly to just about everypony you meet, not just that they sometimes are having a ‘bad day’; but other times their ‘bad day’ takes it too far to make it everyone else ‘bad day’ as well as including me in the equation, if it get to me. One thing I learn is that you just can’t help everypony you meet a long time ago.
Faith however is my strongest bond to be more then everybody, as she knows me and my struggles as well as being there for her, in taking care of Bottle Cap most of time, especially more when I’m currently unemployed veteran. That is why I loved her, not just because of her struggles and mine that bonded us together like the strongest Wonderglue known to pony. But, because we will be there together in a new bright future for us and Bottle Cap’s future as well. Whatever will our new “tomorrow” will bring for us in the new future for us, after we wake up from Stasis for who knows how long?!
Doctor Platinum Heart then went over to us, and interrupted our bonding moment with, “Not meaning to interrupt your romantic moment together, I think it is time for each of you to get in your assigned separate pods.” as he then looks at something on his Pip Buck that probably telling him of the time, like he on a important schedule for us and them.
I then begin to give my wife and son farewell hug, despite we will be put to sleeping for the most part. I then said to my slowly tired son, “Don’t worry, my ‘red baron’, Daddy will be on the other side of the room watching you sleep peaceful.”, a name that I like to called him for being all red and him being flying foal that tends to get me through mishaps in protecting him. Ahh the grand moment of me being a father, watching him sleep peacefully and also changing his diaper constantly when he decided it it was time to play at the worst moments.
I then look to Faith and grin a little better as he then look up to Bottle and said, There, there, see daddy not going to far!” as she then continues to hold him in his well wrapped up in his white blanket that would probably offer the best protection for him. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any foals size jumpsuit, despite you know how adorable that would be if given the option to put him in one, if that was the case.
I then trot onto my cryo pod, as I begin to get up on it and laid down proper and get comfortable on the white padding with a built-in pillow.
As I begin the relax my body, I was then meet up while still inside the closing pod window with Dr. Platinum Heart who probably came to check on my status inside the pod
He then said to me, “How your head feeling?” still concern with my health before procedure.
I then answer him with, “Well I can be a lot better as I am still have one question in my mind that been bugging me!” as I speak out my concern over my perfectly fine health.
He then laugh to a grin a little and then ask me, “I am pretty sure a new visitor like you has a lot of question right now like every pony else with what we do here!” as he then look to my eyes, knowing that relaxation will suit my health better if rewarded with more truth.
He then said, “All right Mr. Dream, what may your question be and we will see my response?” as he be more direct with me.
I then answer with a grin in my face and studently like pupils to say, “What would you all be so settled in telling us all what your grand “experiment” is and what can do to us if it say fails?”
He then loses sight to that question for a sec or two, as he ponders his thoughts to that question while coming with a simple and reasonable answer for it. He then responds to it with more determination in his eyes with, “Because, we believed that for the experiment to work well in our favors is to be as different as all the other Stables by not keeping any secrets to our dwellers.”
I stood there puzzled for a moment as hear the nurse began to started up the machines in the major control boxes.
He then elaborated that more to me as I listen on with, “You see, Stable-Tec has a system like our government ministries, to keep secrets to help ensure no public panic. However we feel that keeping secrets from you all is not the best way to take to ensure complete success of our project, a lesson that my employer Apple Bloom has taught me from her sister.”
He then finished up with, “The success of this experiment being that not ensure that not only we were able to freeze you while still alive for a long period of time, but also ‘preserved’ you as well, since all of your medical records are purely, clean healthy with no major problems at all.”
I then grin a little better to the responds to that answer, still puzzle as to how I am completely fine of any problems at all, especially for a major brain trauma war veteran like me. I decided to just let it slide, since he knows what he's doing. Mostly I got to focus on relaxing and just try to “sleep” it off.
The lights and sounds of light sirens, not so great for Bottle Cap’s nap time, were echoing and flashing across the room, followed by the sound of the Stable Computer that take one the voice of robotic female voice that sounds like Sweetie Belle begins to say.
“Residents are Secured!” it as for the first time declaring the sounds of all the pods, including mine closing and sealing with oxygen air flowing through the vents.
I then to begin to speak to myself softly, “Time to for a whole new life story!” as i then waved farewell with my right fore hoof towards Faith and the foal as she wave back to me as she settle Bottle Cap in a comfortable position near her.
The computer spoke again with, “ Occupants vital are normal, then it’s settled, let's get started with the procedure!”
The machine in mine begin venting something else out of the vents, beside just oxygen. It vented out some sort of white gas that appears to be not only sparkling with snowflakes in, but it seems to be chilling out the pods a whole lot as my body temperature was dropping fast. It still breaths like oxygen, but has a faint taste of nitrogen or something like that distinctive the taste of ‘blizzard’ yet very mineral like substance due the source being an uncommon Ice gem built into the machines.
The Ice gem was showing it true terrify powers as it slowly making my body more exhaust to the freezing process, I can feel myself I started feeling my limbs losing control as they go numb to the cold. I am slowly hearing Sweetie Belle (Stable computer) slowly countdown to everypony around from in a lullaby voice, starting from, “5.., 4.., 3.., 2.., 1..”
Before "2" was finished, I felt immediate, internal warmness filling up inside from back hooves & tail flowing through me up to my horn. I was so feeling good for myself in my relaxed state as I was slowly freezing to sleep but more great when I did so. Great to be alive, great to have my family alive, great that when i wake up i will see them again soon in our new future! I then closed my eyes, accepting it’s process as I heard the countdown finished.

Also noted, you know have witness and seen quite a few miss place characters, scenes, things, etc. that is not the usual Fallout 4 opening, in fact I am detailing important clues and change in Fallout 4 plot; in order to create something original of mine own.
One major example is the Protagonist being knocked out and then submerge with the family into the stable 145 as the balefire sweep in. That is another example of a not exactly retelling of Fallout 4. Don't believe me from just those few moment, read on my upcoming progress as I got more to show for my own FoE-Fo4 lore. All I can say for your critics is that I was inspired, like Kkat and other writers to use similar theme and concepts into our work.
Also finally ten months since I lasted posted any chapter; again apologizes for all those still reading and hoping for more. "I screw up!" I admitting it with my heart as I let depression and other things in my life kept me away from my work into this awesome concept of mine from being made and giving the needed progress and updates from long ago. I can assure all of you know that I am long from dying ago, and that I am here to work on, even if the work is forgotten for some. I simply don't care, for attention sometimes, I just want to actually do what I love to do for it and just write the damn story for once. Screw my first time mistakes, and actually just write the story, edit it later, and also get involved more with feedback and etc, to actually make it all better.
