My Life Of A Pegasus - Chapter 1: Poor Childhood Memories

I was born in Cloudsdale, raised there until I was a mare. My childhood.. Was horrid! Everything was normal until I was a filly.

Allow me to show you my point of view.

I sat on my bed, looking out the small window above it. Looking out at all the pegasi flying around. I let out a sigh and shook my head. When will I get to fly like them? I always ask myself. A certain filly caught my eye. One that flew by at lightning speed, leaving others in the dust. My eyes widened and a smile spread across my dull face.

"There's RainbowDash!" I cried out.

"She's so lucky! She knows how to fly fast... Unlike me..."

My head hung low, my eyes glanced at the floor. I hopped off my bed, landing on my hooves and trotting downstairs.

"Hello, SilverHeart~" My mother greeted me with a smiling face.

I huffed and ignored her, trotting outside. I sat down and looked up at all the fillies who could fly. The only one who couldn't fly.. Was me, and FlutterShy. We were the main laughing stock of all of Cloudsdale. I never actually talked to FlutterShy once, I just know she's a really sensitive gal.

Two male fillies were flying around. Both had a devious face on. I looked up at them, noticing one whisper in the other's ear, then point at me. Both burst out laughing, they flapped their front legs like a maniac.

I knew what they meant... Both landed in front of me. I stood up, glaring coldly at both of them.

"Hey look, it's the worthless pony sulking as always!" One that had a green coat teased.

"Yeah, she can't fly or do anything but feel sorry for herself!" His friend, who had a white coat snickered.

I gritted my teeth and stomped my hoof. I stood tall and glared very hard at them. Both backed up a step, a nervous face splattered on their faces. I took a deep breath, my hooves shaking.

"So!? Just because I can't fly does NOT mean I'm worthless! I might be weaker and not as fast as you, but that doesn't give you the right to bully me! So leave me alone!!" I yelled, my voice raised and I was on the tip of my hooves.

Both fell silent for a few seconds. Then both burst out laughing. They laughed so much, they fell down.

I looked down, and my head fell low. I turned around and walked away, tears streaming down my face.

A scream ringed in my ears. It echoed throughout Cloudsdale. Someponies stopped and payed attention, but most just continued with their lives.

"Mom, dad!" I said to myself.

My eyes widened, tears still falling. I shook my head vigorously and dashed to my home.

I stopped in front of my house's door. Taking in the scene. Smoke was pouring out the windows and screams filled the once humble abode. I opened the door, gasping.

"MOM!!!" I exclaimed, stepping into the house.

"Huh?" Her voice was soft and faint.

She had burn marks all over her body and her mane charred. She lifted her head as she looked into my eyes.

"Oh my Celestia!" I gasped at the sight of my mother's face.

Half her face was burned off. The skin was burned all the way to the bone. Her eye was completely black and only half of it was left.

"H-Honey... R-Run.. G-Go.." She said so quiet, it was nearly a whisper.

I shook my head stubburnly. I stomped my hoof and tears poured down my face.

"Where's dad..?" I asked, searching the room.

My mother didn't reply, she simply let her body go limp and fell to the ground. I looked back at her and gasped. My body shivered in fear and my legs shook.

A loud, deep cry for help caught my attention and I dashed upstairs. There, a horrible sight lay before my eyes.

My father was standing up, in front against a fallen bookshelf. I stared at him, puzzled on why he wasn't running until I took a better look. His wing was caught underneath the bookshelf. I assumed it must've fell on top of him. He yanked on it, crying out each time.

"Dad!" I called out.

My father's eyes shifted to me. He couldn't quite identify who it was before him. Squinting his eyes, he discovered it was me.

"Silver? You need to go! Right now!" He ordered, pointing a hoof to the stairs. "If you don't we'll all be done for! I.. I can't let that happen!" He pulled on his wing another time, screaming in pain.

"B-but.. I don't wanna leave you, daddy.." I replied, standing still.

"Honey, no matter what.... I won't be able to see you again.." He said as quiet as a mouse.

"W-Why not!?" I asked, shocked and sad.

He never replied. He pulled on his wing again, without stopping this time.

I watched, curiously and desperate to not leave.

His wing tore off his body. He screamed loudly with a gurgle noise.

Blood sprayed out a hole where the wing used to be. A blood-stained bone stuck out the wound, dangling loosly. It then broke off and fell into a pool of blood. Blood dripped down, slowly creating a big pool of blood that surrounded my father. I backed up until I hit a wall behind me. Red blood crept underneath me and stained my strawberry coloured hooves. My dad staggered around the room with no sense of direction. Fire spread more and more, until a tall, wooden cabinet toppled over, right on top of my dad's back legs. The weight of the cabinet was to much for his legs and it crushed them. Breaking the entire bone in an instant. Blood covered the whole area surrounding my almost legless and wingless father.

My eye twitched at the sight, a spot of blood was on my cheek. I walked over to my father, ignoring the bloody pool I stood in. He lay there, motionless, silent and not breathing.

"NOOO!!!! DAD!!!!" I screamed on the top of my lungs. Tears flooded down my face, my legs were numb and my stomach churned.

I heard a creek noise coming from the floorboards. Some planks started cracking and breaking. By pure reaction, my wings shot out.

"I need to fly before this whole house falls down to Ponyville!" I thought. The thought repeated in my mind while I flapped my small filly wings. A small draft picked up underneath them and I lifted up into the air.

I gasped with awe and happiness. I was flying for the first time... If only it weren't such a bad time for it to happen...

The floor collapsed and my dad, mother and home fell down to Ponyville. The roof started to cave in too.

I hesitated, then flew out the window, shattering the glass with my body. The shards cut my skin many times, mainly on my thighs. They burned with bloody pain as I flew as far away from the "house" as possible. Many ponies were crowded around it.. I slowed down my pace and glanced back at the grave site of my parents.

A speedy filly crashed into me, hurtling my body into a cloud. I landed on my back and coughed. I then stood up and rubbed my head. The other pony trotted over to me, guilt washed over her face.

"Sorry about that! I wasn't paying attention"

She had a cyan coat and a multi-coloured mane.

RainbowDash! I thought in my head.

I shook the thought away and replied to her apology.

"Yeah, I noticed.." My voice was full of anger and sorrow.

"Hey, I was just trying to be nice and say sorry!" She rolled her eyes and shrugged.

"I don't care! I don't need an apology! I..I want my family back...." I said so softly she barely heard it.

"Fine! I won't apolo- Wait a second! Aren't you SilverHeart, the filly who can't fly?" She asked before bursting into laughter.

"I've heard things about you!" She pointed a hoof to my snout and I growled.

Her smile faded when she noticed the red blood on my cheek.

"Why are you bloody?" She asked, a quizzical look on her face.

I fell silent and my eyes darted around nervously.

"......................Doesn't matter!!!" I yelled then flew away, crying.

I noticed Rainbow flying next to me, studying my thighs.

I kicked at her, but her swift, agile flying gave her the advantage.

"What happened, SilverHeart?" She repeated many times.

"It's Silver!" Was the only thing I responded. I gave her a stink eye and flew in a different direction.

It went to no avail. RainbowDash kept following me everywhere I went, repeating the same thing over and over and over.

I snapped and turned around, teeth gritted, wings spread out and glaring viciously at her.

"MY PARENTS JUST DIED! THERE, YOU HAPPY!?!!!!" I screamed so loud that Rainbow stumbled back.

She looked down and guilt washed over her face as I galloped away, tears falling.

Never again will I see my parents. Never again will I hear their voices. Never again will I see their smiling faces.

Never again will I remember them..
