The harsh wind whipped at the young colt's face. Snow circled around his hooves as he tried to walk, only to end up tripping. He sniffled. He was alone and afraid, and who could blame him? A snowstorm is no place for anypony, let alone a young colt. He staggered blindly ahead, his eyes stinging with tears. All he could see was white, and he didn't know where he was going either.
"Momma?"
He cried out to the white nothingness. He shivered. He was freezing cold, and everything hurt . His eyesight started to blur, and black dots danced around his eyes. He slowly blinked. He was tired and wanted to stop badly, but knew he couldn't. He had to go back to his family. He mother and father was waiting for him to get back home. He had to got back to them, he missed them dearly and wanted to get home and sleep, knowing that he was warm and safe.
He slowly put one hoof in front of the other, determined that he would soon return home. Suddenly he collapsed, breathing heavily. He coughed, drops of crimson blood staining the white snow. He shivered all over, and his whole body hurt. His vision was blurring quickly, and soon blackened. He sniffled and started to cry.
"H-help"
He whispered weakly and gasped in pain as darkness consumed him, and he blacked out.
~~~~
He blinked. There was some pony in front of him. It was a white Pegasus mare, and she stood over him as if she was protecting him, her wings spread out before him.
From something.
Somepony to be exact. Two ponies stood near the mare, and we're badly cut and bruised. They mare was in a bad condition too, but far more worse. Her cheek was dripping blood, and her back hoof was bandaged. He slowly poked his head from under her wings. She noticed him, and smiled warmly, almost motherly. Her blue eyes sparkled brightly and turned to the ponies before him. They looked similar to him, except they were unicorns. They were older than the mare, and didn't look kind. The mare repositioned herself, so that her wings were spread out further, and she was lower to the ground. In a flash, she flew to the ponies, barely missing them.
His vision suddenly blurred and he realised how weak he was. The last thing he saw before fainting, was the mare galloping towards him.
