Author's Note
Frankly, we couldn't decide on Pinkie's reaction.
So we went with my idea and just kept her part short.
Prologue
Some ponies were wondering how Rainbow Dash managed to keep her job as head weather manager, when she was so lazy. The answer was quite obvious: she was just that awesome. Why else would she have gotten the job of taking care of the weather of the Summer Sun Celebration the next day? The best part was that the Wonderbolts would be there! She would totally show them her awesome moves and then they would take her in faster than Rainbow Dash could clean up the sky.
Still, for the moment she was power napping in her AWESOME cloud house. It was early in the morning and she did have the day off, since she was responsible for the entire weather the next day. So why not take a few Zs before training the rest of the day.
She couldn't understand how other ponies could not sleep in a cloud bed. But then again, they couldn't even try, so meh. This whole thinking was making her even more tired, she would just roll over and...
*CRASH*
"What the buck!?" Rainbow Dash jumped off her bed and into the air, looking around frantically. The crash-sound came from downstairs in her house. She quickly flew down and into the kitchen, where sounds of her kitchenware being moved around could be heard. Additionally there was moaning, as if everything had fallen on top of somepony.
When Rainbow finally checked out her kitchen, she found her suspicions confirmed. There was a mare lying on the ground and her kitchen stuff was either broken lying around or on top of the mare. Sometimes Rainbow wondered why she even kept so much, when she only needed one plate for herself and the five minute meals she made herself every so often. But she needed to focus right now.
The pegasus had a similar coat color to Rainbow herself. Actually they also shared the same mane color. And mane style. And...cutie mark??
"What the hay?" Rainbow muttered. She rubbed her eyes. Nope, she definitely wasn't seeing things. That was her alright. Even the eye color matched up. Or was it an impostor? Angered Rainbow grabbed the other pony and slammed her against a cloud wall.
"Alright! You got exactly ten seconds to explain what the hay you're doing here and why you look like me!"
The other Rainbow Dash shook her head and glared at the attacker. "Time travel, I am you, the future is messed up."
"What?"
Rainbow let go of Dash, causing the mare to hit the ground. "Oh mare, nopony said time travel would hurt so much. Alright, let's get this over with." Time Rainbow approached her counterpart. Said counterpart backed off, still suspicious of the other.
"Whoa, wait a sec. What do you mean "get this over with?" You think I just belief you like that?"
Time Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Getting my memories and skills into your head. Would look bad if there would be two of us flying around. Look, I'm not a spy and we need to get this over with quick or Equestria will be doomed! Now come on! I don't remember being a coward."
"What did you just call me?!"
"A coward!"
"Oh that's it! Bring it on! I ain't scared of no double, time traveler, whatever you're!"
Rarity considered herself an organized pony. Some ponies might call her inspiration room a mess, but she liked to call it organized chaos. However at the moment she wasn't looking at the "mess" of the inspiration room, but rather at the mess in her sleeping room.
After hearing a loud crash like sound, Rarity first suspected it had been another one of Rainbow Dash's failed stuns. The truth turned out to be quite different. There in the room, in the middle of the mess was a unicorn, levitating Rarity's things back to the proper places for everything. As if the situation wasn't weird enough, the unicorn in the room turned out to be Rarity herself.
"Wha....?" Rarity's jaw dropped to the ground.
"Oh excuse me dear, I'll have everything cleaned up in no time."
"B-but...you..." Rarity didn't know how to react to the other "her".
"There." Other Rarity put the last picture back to its proper place at the wall. It was one she had gotten over a visit in Fillydelphia and showed a beautiful overview of the city.
"Well, then" Other Rarity turned around "I'm so sorry for causing such a mess darling, but time is crucially."
"W-what do you mean? Who are you?! Why do you look like me?!" Rarity exclaimed.
"Now don't faint my dear, for there is an explanation for everything. Look at this." Other Rarity levitated a couple of magazines over to Rarity, who took a look at them. "These are...fashion magazines? I'm sorry, but I do not see how these are explaining anything."
Other Rarity smirked. "Look at the date. Especially this one, look at the date and at the cover again."
Rarity eyed the other mare with a raised eyebrow. Deciding to humor her uninvited guest, Rarity took a look at the magazines again.
...
"B-but, but...that's...the date! This one is dated for tomorrow! And this one!" Rarity picked up another one. "It's dated for next year! And this one it...that's my name! But...I never designed those dresses!"
The other Rarity put a hoof on the original one's shoulder. "Now don't faint dear. We need to act fast. This will sound unbelievable, but I'm a time traveler. I am you, from the future."
"The future?" Rarity repeated. "Wait." She took a look at one of the magazines again. "This one's from 40 years into the future! Why are you so young?!"
Other Rarity looked to the side. "That's a long story. Listen." She looked determined into her past self's face. "You have to trust me. It is crucial that I give you my memories! The spell will wear off soon and if I don't give you my knowledge, I fear the worst."
"The...worst?" Rarity repeated.
"Please. I know it's sudden, but I gave you all the evidence I can show you in the limited amount of time I have. I cannot cast the spell again. Please Rarity. We need to do this in order to ensure the safety of Equestria and our friends!"
Applejack was in one of her barns, getting some stuff cleaned up. Almost her entire family was there, but with the upcoming Summer Sun Celebration, some work had been laid off as a result. She wanted to get everything done by tomorrow and as a result was now working inside the barn. That was until she heard a loud crash on the other side of the barn.
"What in tarnation?!" The farmer exclaimed. "Is that you Applebloom?!"
"Urggh...."
Applejack checked behind the cupboards and immediately froze up, upon seeing just who was covered in all kinds of repair supplies.
"What in the..."
The other mare shook everything off herself and turned around. Two Applejacks were facing each other, one of them having a horrified expression on her face.
"Uh...I reckon this ain't your regular Tuesday." the other AJ tried to lighten up the mood.
"It's Wednesday. Arggh!" AJ facehoofed. "That ain't important! Who are yer?!"
"Ah'm yer."
"Yeah, right. And mah name's Big Macintosh." Applejack obviously wasn't buying it, causing the other Applejack to groan in annoyance.
"Look, ah'm short on time, 'cause of the magic doohicky. Me and mah friends went back in time."
"Okay, let's say yer right. Ah'm pretty sure ah'd never do somethin' like changin' time. It ain't natural and it's a mighty dangerous!"
"Ah know it's dangerous." Time Applejack exclaimed. "But sometime's ya just hafta risk it. 'Specially since everythin's lost, if ya don't cooperate."
"Everythin' lost?" AJ repeated, still unconvinced.
"Look into mah face and tell me that ah'm lyin'! If ah don't give ya mah memories with the magic doohicky, everythin's lost!"
Now AJ looked straight into the face of Time Applejack. She knew she was a terrible liar and would spot a lie immediately. She also had some kind of instinct, when someone lied. She would notice it immediately. Despite not finding a lie, she wasn't convinced by a stretch. Time Applejack of course could see that on Now Applejack's face, sighed.
"Look, do ya really wanna risk yer family, yer friends lives? Or would ya rather risk yer own life?"
Fluttershy's bird choir was taking a little break from their latest rehearsal. She was just glad that it wasn't her who had to sing, but her birds, who actually all enjoyed singing. Plus they weren't nervous that they would be singing for the princess.
At the moment, the pegasus herself was sitting outside her cottage, reading a book, when IT happened. It being a loud *BANG*, followed by a bright *FLASH*. Fluttershy naturally dropped her book, let out an "eep" and quickly flew into a tree.
Some of her animals quickly retreated into their hideouts, while others like Angel and Mr. Bear, came running towards their caretaker and looking just what in Tartarus was going on. They found said caretaker lying on the ground and rubbing her forehead. They were about to approach the pegasus, when they heard a voice saying: "Oh my." And Fluttershy's lips haven't moved.
For once Fluttershy's curiosity was bigger than her fear, so she came down quickly from the tree and observed the other Fluttershy, from a safe distance of course. Meanwhile one of the beavers looked down at his mug and decided that he was never going to drink apple cider again.
Angel in the meantime slapped himself. The he asked Mr. Bear to slap him and Mr. Bear send him flying a few feet away. The bunny landed on its back. Looking up and still seeing two Fluttershy's, Angel decided to roll with it and drink lots of hard cider later.
"Um..." The Now Fluttershy nervously paced with her left foreleg on the ground, while Time Fluttershy still shook of the effects of her travel. After giving herself a good stretch, she finally spoke up. "Oh my. That was...intense. Oh, hello."
"...lo." the other Fluttershy replied, shyly.
"Umm, I know this is rather awkward, but...you see...I am you."
"Hmm?" Fluttershy turned an eye towards Time Fluttershy.
"Y-yes, I am...from the future. You see...it's complicated.
"Uh...huh."
"And well, you don't have to, but...it would be really nice if you would...accept my...our memories."
"Umm..."
"Y-you don't have to." Time Fluttershy assured. "But...it would be nice."
"I...uh...."
"You're not sure?"
Now Fluttershy nodded timidly. "I understand. It's just...I don't have much time until I go back and if you don't accept" Time Fluttershy took a deep breath "I can't come back and...something bad might happen."
"Something bad?"
Pinkie Pie looked at her extra sugary cupcake and threw it into the bucket.
