Chapter 1: Leaving home. [WARNING: BORING CHAPTER.]
Sparkle chapter's parents were awful. They never looked after her, and never trained her into getting her cutie mark. She did everything herself and got okay grades of D+'s to B-'s. Usually her parents would do only one thing, and that one thing was bad: Never let her go outside. This forced her to stay cramped in her home. Never really exercising, and getting slightly overweight. She would usually watch the TV or write things. Never being able to go out into the world, and face the quest for her cutie mark.

Eventually her parents retired they're jobs as being writers, and, with lots of money afterward began relaxing with new, more expensive items. As they settled back into reality, and began speaking with Sparkle Chapter, they noticed. She still doesn't have her cutie mark. Normally she'd use her tail to hide the fact she has a lack of a cutie mark. She tries her hardest to keep thinking she'll eventually get her cutie mark. Though she is starting to lose hope. After her parents found out she was abused, and put on many strict diets and such. Other ponies started noticing and bullied her, once the bullying got so bad that she bucked somepony with all her might. She was quite strong, despite the lack of exercise, she usually practiced carrying her heavy books everywhere. She was in major trouble for it, that's for sure. Eventually, at the age of 17 she'd had enough. She packed her bags while her parents, asleep, and wrote a note. It was early morning when she opened the door to the world, after finding the key, of course, about 6AM, she spent way too much time packing, and just her luck. She stumbled apon the two twats she hated most. Diamond Tiara and Silver spoon.
"Oh, isn't it our favorite blank flank?" She giggled, lightly hitting Silver Spoon to join her.
"Yeah, it is.. the blank flank that still doesn't have her cutie mark, when we've had ours since we were 8!!~" Silver spoon joined.
"And oh, isn't it my two hated bratty faggots? Just leave me alone!" She growled, trying to hurry it up so she can run away.
Diamond Tiara mumbled something rude under her breath, and kicked the ground.
"BRATS?! Who are YOU calling BRATS! You're the brat here!" She shouted.
Silver spoon gulped, and held Diamond Tiara back from saying anything else, gesturing at her to cut out the insults.
"Says the bratty pony that has a tiara on her ass cheeks. Oh, what is your cutie mark about? Buying more shiny tiara sex toys?" She smirked, not realizing that Silver spoon was trying to hold her back. Silver spoon Facehoofs.
"BRATTY?!.. ASS?!.. SEX TOYS?! What kind of a whore are you!" Diamond Tiara growled back, still being held back by Silver Spoon, getting stronger and more annoyed.
"Whore? What do you mean? I've never managed to get out of the house to get a stallion.. as you said, I don't have a cutie mark, and apparently stallions don't like ponies without cutiemarks." She teased back, trying to get her to take back what she said last week about stallions not liking her due to her lack of a cutie mark.
Diamond tiara bit her lip, trying her hardest not to take anything back, or not to insult her more, at this point her entire face is red.
"Okay then, whore, how about you go off to where you want, and me and Silver spoon can get back to more important things to do?"
Sparkle Chapter tasted the feeling of success, and turned. "Fine then, as you wish~"
She walked off, normally she'd feel regret in what she says, since she was a nice pony, but at this point they were the two twats that made her such a bitch in the first place.
She kept walking, and eventually stopped by at her best friends home, she hasn't seen her best friend for virtually ages, since then she's lost some weight. She knocks on her door, lightly to see if she was even awake, she came out quickly, smiling, she knew Sparkle Chapter was coming this was in the first place.
"Heeeeeyyyyyy, Sparrkkyyyyyyy~" She whispered, excitedly, she was one of those happy ponies.
"Hey, Skirt." She replied, quietly, smiling half-heartedly.
"Heeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.... Sparrkkyyyyyyy... Wa's the long ffaaaccceeeeeee" she whispered back.
"Eh, I'm getting out'a this town."
Sparkly Skirt's frown faded. Her best friend, moving towns? Wow.
"Bbuuttt Sparkyyyyy, why would you leave me?" She sounds a little sad.
"Don't worry, skirt. I'll come back, and I'll visit, in my own time. My parents or so abusive, I can't stay with them anymore, I can't do this shit. - I'm moving to a place where cutie marks don't matter."
"Sparrkyy...."
"Skirt, I've said alrea-"
"Sparky, listen, everywhere you'll get bullied for no cuuttiiee maarrkksssss....."
"Skirt, look, it's fine, fine. I'll move to a place where it doesn't matter AS much, okay?" Her voice was slightly more then just a whisper now.
"But Senpaaaiii Sparrkyyyyyy-"
"Please, no, don't do that Japanese anime.. whatever thing."
Sparkly skirt tilted her head, until realizing that she didn't like Anime things.
"Sowwyyyy~ - You'll come visit though, yaahhh?" She was still whispering.
"Skirt, of course I will. Your my bud, why would I just leave you 'ere? The only way I'd not be able to see you again is... if I lose the path to the place..."
Sparkly froze. "Lose?"
"Ugh.. look, the way I'm going to.. is.... through the ever free forest. But no, no.. shhhh... it's okay, okay... it's only a short way... I'll be fine."
Sparkly Skirt teared up a little. She couldn't stop her friend from leaving, but she knew almost no one passes there without some sort of injury at least, she gave her friend a light hug, and watched her turn, tears running down her eyes slightly.
"Bye, skirt.." She sighed.
"Bye Bye, S-Sparky......." She paused, sniffing. "Wait, Sparky.. wait."
Sparkle Chapter stopped, and turned. "Yah?" Sparkly had a light smile on her face. "G-good luck.." Sparkle nodded, and smiled back. "I'll be fine... fine."
Sparkle left, and started heading towards the everfree forest. Skirt quickly run up the stairs and packed a few things, and went to her parents. "Mum, daaddddddd! Can I go with Sparky-boooooooooo! She's going somewhere for a few days pleeasseeeee!!!" She whined.
Her mum blocked her ears with a pillow, nodding violently, wanting to sleep before work.
"Ye, ye sure, kiddo! Hah, your ol' pap needs some rest'a 'round here anyhows." Her dad said, lightly. Then, Sparkly run down the stairs and bashed through the front door. "HEY, SPARKY! WAIT UP!"
Eventually they caught up with each other, and started to talk. Sparkle Chapter was happy she wasn't alone anymore.
Sparkle Chapter and Sparkly Skirt chatted as they got closer to the everfree forest. The path to the place they were going to was small, and they could easily lose track. Which was the worrying thing. - They both went in, and spent a few hours going through, this was not a short cut. Not at all, it was much too long for a shortcut, they had lost the path an hour ago.
"Sparky boo..." Sparkly whispered, whimpering slightly.
"Skirt, we're fine.. fine.. don't cry now.." Sparkle wiped a tear off of her cheek. "Things may look bad, but I'm sure, if anything happens, we can just camp here. Remember, it's okay, I've got supplies.. I knew this might happen. We're fine.." She picked up her bandana and used it to wipe off more of Sparkly's tears.
"B-but Sparky... w-what if we don't find it.. and we run out of s-suppli-" Sparkle cut her off, and shushed her to calm her. "Skirt, look, you know me. You can trust your best bud, right?"
Sparkly Skirt pulled off a weak gentle smile, trying to calm.
It has been a few hours. Nothing. It was already 6PM, almost a full 12 hours since they left. And because it was the autumn-ish time, it was already getting dark. Both girls were hungry, but Sparkle insisted it would feel more rewarding after a while, and they'd save lots of food. Noises were all around them, once they even heard a branch break, as if something was walking. They haven't spoken to each other the entire way, and tried to tip-toe. They hoped if anything was following them, it'd leave them alone if they it thought they weren't there. Eventually they found a small hill, not too tall but enough to stay away from most trees and had a great view, Sparkly, being a unicorn managed to help her buddy get up the steep hill.
"How it d-doing, S-sparky...?" Sparkly asked, wondering if she was okay with the hard climb.
"Y-yeah, s-skirt. I-I'm-" She pants. "F-fine..."
Sparkly seemed very worried, and decided to master up a levitation spell, she used a lot of her magic, but it managed to get Sparkle up enough to get up easily.
"Skirt, you know you didn't need to-" Suddenly, Sparkly heard a crack of a twig down below, and shushes Sparkle. She pulls her up and helps her climb the one big tree there. - It was silence from there on, they exchanged eye contact, hoping they were safe. Eventually the sun was almost down. And they had settled on the tree, they took out a strong blanket, and tied it to two ends, and with Sparkly's magic, attached it for safety. Now they could have somewhere to sleep, Sparkle grabbed some food from her back-saddle and shared it with Sparkly, silently. It was too dark to make any noise, because it would put them at such a risk, just a light noise could reveal they're hiding place, and this possible game of hide and seek would end, them losing. Sparkle believed it could just be a rabbit of some sorts following them for their food. But Sparkly was imagining some stalker. Either way, this was the everfree forest. You can't trust anything here. nothing.
Sparkly takes one of her blankets out of her bag, and covers herself, starting to tear up. - Sparkle gets under the blanket with her, but changes sides to ignore seeming like lesbians. "S-Sparky..." Sparkly whimpered. Sparkle turned, looking upwards now.
"Y-yeah, skirt.." Sparkle seemed less confident, and a little scared now. Sparkly too, now turned, laying on her back.
"S-sparkyyy~.... A-are we going to d-die..." she whispered. This made Sparkle uncomfortable, and made her look down at her cutie-markless flank. "I hope not..."
You probably don't understand this, but Sparkle really wanted to have her cutiemark before she died. She really wanted at least one pony to see it. But that put her off track, was she going to die, and never be found? She might die with her friend, but is it worth it? Being without a cutiemark is like being forever empty inside. Knowing you were never good at something, that you were just a piece of shit, that no one cared about. Just imagine if everyone was better then you, and you could only do everything everyone else did, but worse. How would you feel? It'd feel like you were born for NOTHING. Horrible.
Sparkle started crying, as silently as she could. "S-Skirt.. I-it's n-not-t o-oka-ay.. It's not..." She felt like she wanted to scream.
"Wow.. S-sparky... p-please don't cry, i-it'll be f-fine. I promise, I'll be h-here no matter what happens, e-even if I die, I-I'll follow you. Even if I-I'm bleeding a-and d-d-d-dying... s-senpai, I-I will follow y-you until y-you don't need m-me..." It was the smartest thing Sparkly had ever said, but it was also the most saddest...
"S-skirt.. d-don't s-sa-" Sparkle was cut off, again.
"S-senpaiii..~ I-I won't l-leave you. I-I swear." Sparkly smiled weakly, Sparkle stopped, she felt warmer inside now, and despite feeling very wrong on one side, she hugs Sparkly. She's got a few tears in her eyes. She doesn't care if someone records her hugging Sparkly. She doesn't care if she gets called a lesbian. She is happy she has someone that cares about her. Eventually the two fall asleep in that position.
Sparkle woke up in her dream realm, she went into her first dream, which was a little too disgusting and sexual for her. She had never hugged someone, nor been hugged. So she feels a sense of dirtiness in it. After that short dream she starts dreaming about getting a cutiemark. It was the best dream she ever had, but after she went back into her little dream realm, she felt cold. As if something had happened in reality. She froze in her dream world. What was happening?
