Chapter 2: A dark turn.

Previous Chapter

Sparkle Chapter and Sparkly Skirt chatted as they got closer to the everfree forest. The path to the place they were going to was small, and they could easily lose track. Which was the worrying thing. - They both went in, and spent a few hours going through, this was not a short cut. Not at all, it was much too long for a shortcut, they had lost the path an hour ago.

"Sparky boo..." Sparkly whispered, whimpering slightly.

"Skirt, we're fine.. fine.. don't cry now.." Sparkle wiped a tear off of her cheek. "Things may look bad, but I'm sure, if anything happens, we can just camp here. Remember, it's okay, I've got supplies.. I knew this might happen. We're fine.." She picked up her bandana and used it to wipe off more of Sparkly's tears.

"B-but Sparky... w-what if we don't find it.. and we run out of s-suppli-" Sparkle cut her off, and shushed her to calm her. "Skirt, look, you know me. You can trust your best bud, right?"

Sparkly Skirt pulled off a weak gentle smile, trying to calm.

It has been a few hours. Nothing. It was already 6PM, almost a full 12 hours since they left. And because it was the autumn-ish time, it was already getting dark. Both girls were hungry, but Sparkle insisted it would feel more rewarding after a while, and they'd save lots of food. Noises were all around them, once they even heard a branch break, as if something was walking. They haven't spoken to each other the entire way, and tried to tip-toe. They hoped if anything was following them, it'd leave them alone if they it thought they weren't there. Eventually they found a small hill, not too tall but enough to stay away from most trees and had a great view, Sparkly, being a unicorn managed to help her buddy get up the steep hill.

"How it d-doing, S-sparky...?" Sparkly asked, wondering if she was okay with the hard climb.

"Y-yeah, s-skirt. I-I'm-" She pants. "F-fine..."

Sparkly seemed very worried, and decided to master up a levitation spell, she used a lot of her magic, but it managed to get Sparkle up enough to get up easily.

"Skirt, you know you didn't need to-" Suddenly, Sparkly heard a crack of a twig down below, and shushes Sparkle. She pulls her up and helps her climb the one big tree there. - It was silence from there on, they exchanged eye contact, hoping they were safe. Eventually the sun was almost down. And they had settled on the tree, they took out a strong blanket, and tied it to two ends, and with Sparkly's magic, attached it for safety. Now they could have somewhere to sleep, Sparkle grabbed some food from her back-saddle and shared it with Sparkly, silently. It was too dark to make any noise, because it would put them at such a risk, just a light noise could reveal they're hiding place, and this possible game of hide and seek would end, them losing. Sparkle believed it could just be a rabbit of some sorts following them for their food. But Sparkly was imagining some stalker. Either way, this was the everfree forest. You can't trust anything here. nothing.

Sparkly takes one of her blankets out of her bag, and covers herself, starting to tear up. - Sparkle gets under the blanket with her, but changes sides to ignore seeming like lesbians. "S-Sparky..." Sparkly whimpered. Sparkle turned, looking upwards now.

"Y-yeah, skirt.." Sparkle seemed less confident, and a little scared now. Sparkly too, now turned, laying on her back.

"S-sparkyyy~.... A-are we going to d-die..." she whispered. This made Sparkle uncomfortable, and made her look down at her cutie-markless flank. "I hope not..."

You probably don't understand this, but Sparkle really wanted to have her cutiemark before she died. She really wanted at least one pony to see it. But that put her off track, was she going to die, and never be found? She might die with her friend, but is it worth it? Being without a cutiemark is like being forever empty inside. Knowing you were never good at something, that you were just a piece of shit, that no one cared about. Just imagine if everyone was better then you, and you could only do everything everyone else did, but worse. How would you feel? It'd feel like you were born for NOTHING. Horrible.

Sparkle started crying, as silently as she could. "S-Skirt.. I-it's n-not-t o-oka-ay.. It's not..." She felt like she wanted to scream.

"Wow.. S-sparky... p-please don't cry, i-it'll be f-fine. I promise, I'll be h-here no matter what happens, e-even if I die, I-I'll follow you. Even if I-I'm bleeding a-and d-d-d-dying... s-senpai, I-I will follow y-you until y-you don't need m-me..." It was the smartest thing Sparkly had ever said, but it was also the most saddest...

"S-skirt.. d-don't s-sa-" Sparkle was cut off, again.

"S-senpaiii..~ I-I won't l-leave you. I-I swear." Sparkly smiled weakly, Sparkle stopped, she felt warmer inside now, and despite feeling very wrong on one side, she hugs Sparkly. She's got a few tears in her eyes. She doesn't care if someone records her hugging Sparkly. She doesn't care if she gets called a lesbian. She is happy she has someone that cares about her. Eventually the two fall asleep in that position.

Sparkle woke up in her dream realm, she went into her first dream, which was a little too disgusting and sexual for her. She had never hugged someone, nor been hugged. So she feels a sense of dirtiness in it. After that short dream she starts dreaming about getting a cutiemark. It was the best dream she ever had, but after she went back into her little dream realm, she felt cold. As if something had happened in reality. She froze in her dream world. What was happening?
