Just then Nightmare Moon appears and steals away with Twilight and the Elements in an effort to prevent this from happening. Much to her surprise, Twilight refuses to be cowed: Twilight Sparkle paws the ground, preparing a desperate charge Nightmare Moon: You're kidding. You're kidding, right? A brief struggle ensues as Twilight tries to recover the elements but eventually Nightmare Moon simply smashes them to bits. All hope is lost... ...then Twilight hears her friends coming to her rescue, has an epiphany, and the seemingly-destroyed elements activate. Twilight explains to a baffled Nightmare Moon, that the real power of the elements was within her five friends and herself realizing how much they meant to her was the "spark" needed to awaken the Sixth Element, Magic. With the combined powers of the Elements of Harmony, they make swift work of Nightmare Moon. As the sun finally rises, Princess Celestia reappears to congratulate Twilight and her friends. She was aware of the prophecy and knew Twilight had the power to save the world but only told her to make friends in the hopes that her student would learn the power of friendship and allow its power to spark the Elements. She proceeds to reconcile with Nightmare Moon who has returned to her original form... Princess Luna, Celestia's long-lost sister. Turns out that the two sisters in the original legend of Nightmare Moon were Luna and Celestia. Celebrations are in order, Luna is ready to resume her duties of raising the moon at night and Twilight Sparkle is ready to return to Canterlot... except the once-antisocial unicorn is reluctant to leave her new friends so suddenly. With Celestia's blessing, Twilight decides to remain in Ponyville and continue her studies on the magic of friendship, while princess luna and celestia get ready for the trip back to canterlot. while princess stood up proud and tall now that her sister she had banished and had longed to see was finally free and coming home, the younger one sat slouched looking down at the ground beneath them troubled be all that has happened and all that she has put everypony through. "whats the matter luna? aren't you happy you are free and heading home for the first time in 200 years?" princess celestia said looking at luna all slumped down and looking miserable. " i am happy to finally be back to you" she stopped and looked up at her sister whom still was staring at her with a concerned expression " i love you and nothing will change that but, but i just dont know how everypony else will take it now that the one they feared, the one that tried to take over equestria twice, now will be returning to rule equestria with you" she looked down again and a tear fell from her face " don't cry luna" princess celestia put her hoof at the bottom of her face and pushed it up. " remember the songs i sang to you when you were upset in our old home? the times you lost it all and the times you could not sleep. the times you were scared and the times you and the times you had weeped." princess luna stopped crying as she remembered the times her sister had sung to her with a voice that could calm even the most brutal of storms and remembering the words her sister has sung, she sang"Fate has been cruel and order unkind How can I have sent you away? The blame was my own; the punishment, mine, The harmony's silent today. But into the stillness I'll bring you a song And I will your company keep Till your tired eyes and my lullabies Have carried you softly to sleep." and celestia chymed in "Lullay moon princess, goodnight sister mine And rest now in moonlight's embrace Bear up my lullaby, winds of the earth Through cloud, and through sky, and through space. May all your dreams be sweet tonight Safe upon your bed of moonlight And know not of sadness, pain, or care And when I dream, I'll fly away and meet you there, Sleep..." and both sung happily the whole way home. //-------------------------------------------------------// %2% Afraid Of Dreams //-------------------------------------------------------// %2% Afraid Of Dreams Once the two princesses came to a halt at the castle, princess luna took a moment to take in the breath taking view. after all, she might as well get familiar with her living quarters as well as the outside if she is to fit in. princess celestia let luna look around the castle while they were preparing her room for to sleep after the long flight there. Luna was walking around the castle staring at all the vast and magnificent scenery of the interior, for a moment she felt at home once again, she had celestia and she was back in the castle but what took her mind off the castle was when she took a look at one of the window pane's. She had seen herself being the monster she was at that point in time being stopped twice. she also thought that if it happened twice already, what would happen if it happened again. she was terrified at the thought of it and by the time she was in her room. she couldn't sleep, she kept thinking if she turned again and actually managed to take over. what would she do having no control from the demon inside. what would she do to the beautiful land of equestria! she did manage to get a bit of sleep that night, but her dreams grew restless with her thoughts, they would play out scenarios that she had actually managed to take over equestria and shrowed the land in eternal night. and every time she had the dreams of her worst nightmares, she would wake up running to the window looking outside realizing it was just a dream, and she would resume trying to sleep again.
