Chapters June 30
Its a *disaster*. My hotel, the whole building. It collapsed during the night. I was lucky I heard it breaking in time enough to get Artax. I dont know what to do. I have nowhere to rest, though I dont think Ill be getting any anyways.
Some ponies were talking about... A changeling attack. That some other buildings had been destroyed too.
All my bits were lost in the collapsing. All my quails, too except this one, and I of course got my journal as you can see.
Artax is snoring on my back.
Earlier some pony had come up to us. She seemed hugely off, having a purple mane, blue funky tail, and yet being a pale orange color in the coat. Her eyes had the darkest bags under them, and her voice sounded like a mixture of rough and silky together, creating a high-pitched voice that definitely creeped me out.
Here`s basically how the scenario went;
I was looking around, it now being a bit into sunrise, and then suddenly some pony was crying, "WAIT!!!". I turned around, and she was nose to nose on me! I backed up, and noticed her features.
-NOTE: Her eyes are differentiated, one is red, while the other is yellow-
She calmed down and flickered between the emotions of nervous and devious.
Then, she asked me, "Predator or prey?".
"What?" I had responded off instinct.
"Predator. Or prey." I wrinkled my muzzle at this. Why would she want to know?
But now that I thought about it, hunting the prey is boring... Running from and tricking the hunter is much more fun.
"...The, prey?" I asked, holding my hoof up slightly.
She smiled, and nodded, "Well then! you look tired, why don`t we get some coffee, hm?" Before I could answer she had dragged me over to the nearest cafe. We talked about things, like our home, natural disasters, changelings. Yeah. She knew a LOT about these dark creatures. Though she seemed to like them, and she talked about them in a way that made me seem to like them too.
"Well, i`ll meet you later... um...your name? I never got it." She gave me an apology, and I smiled while responding, "Stargleam. You?"
"Oh, just call me color craze". That fit her perfectly.
"Alright then. See you later!" I had called out to her as she left.
Back to right now. Um... So its around 12 pm... The wedding is going on. It`s utterly amazing! I can hear music, Cadence singing something dreadfully sinister... Heh...
Oh dear Luna help me! Were all under attack! I dont know how, but the changelings! I think im being followed... Help me.
The black insect ponies are attacking the city, they tried to take me, then Artax, but I shot one in warning, making it go away.
Were safe... I`m just so scared.
What was that?! I heard something, good thing my magic records thoughts, not just what I try to write...
Ahh! Help help help help I gotta go where they can`t get me- there! that pipe thingy!
Okay... I.... I think I might start doing video recordings instead of journal entries soon.
I, um, was able to get into a small pipeline hole, I guess the concrete hasn`t been poured here yet. Their trying to get me...

Hello, journal. Im currently imprisoned. I dont know what to do. The changelings keep saying something about cocoons and transforming the victims.
Oh, no... I dont want to die, I dont want to be a slave, I don`t want to change!
The changelings are coming, I`ll record more later, got to go now.
They took a prisoner earth pony from the cell next to me. They were doing that earlier. I`m next.
What do they do in there? I dont know. I dont want to know.
Oh Talos guide me, or Celestia. I don`t even know anymore... I can hear a scream.
Another scream.
What is this, Draculas kingdom or something?! I want out!!! Im panicking too much....
I wasnt able to record it, but earlier, I lost Artax. I dont know where she is, I just hope she`s safe.
Somewhere better, than this old stone and earth cell.
Maybe she got away before we got caught.
I was knocked out, so I dont really know... Im panicking I`m panicking...

Journal, their doing... Something to me, their dragging me over to this goo like cocoon. I`m fighting back.
It`s not work-
Journal. I write while in this... cocoon. I dont know what their trying to accomplish. But it hurts, my body feels numb yet burning at the same time. My journal isnt in the same chamber, so I dont know if a changeling is currently reading this but... I feel like im fainting.
I cant hold on to my consciousness good... Im blacking out....
Help. I awoke... My body burned so bad! My hooves were melting! Holes began to appear in them, and my skin started to burn into a charcoal black. My hair is still blue though... It`s just, a really pale blue, with no highlight anymore. And my hair is really strewn about.
I grew these insect wings somehow, which also have holes... I apparently have an exo-skeleton now, due to the green-ish blue
shell shaped on my back. My horn is black and curved.
I`m one of... them .
Im going to get away... and run back to Canterlot... But I dont know how, not in this cocoon!!!
Bye journal, hopefully this burning goo doesn`t kill me.

July 2
Dear journal, they took me out of my cocoon. They guided me over to the mess hall , and let me eat all I could. I was starving even if I didn`t know it, grabbing and wolfing down three whole plates of food.
They tasted different than normal though... Like it didn`t give me much energy, yet it still filled me.
I don`t know.
These changelings seem nice, and the bed they gave me was good. I`ve been practicing flying this night.
There is a window that leads outside after all...
I`m going to go for it tomorrow. Be right back
Alright, back. I just needed to grab a crystal. Magic, energy bar thing. Yeah...
Okay, back to it.
This whole changeling thing isn`t bad, but it is hard to turn into my former self without forgetting to remove the wings or change my horn. Though I re-created myself into a pegasus for now so I can get out of here safely, the changeling guards told me I would learn about changing soon. Tomorrow, actually, and how to feed properly, like how much, how to store it, what foods truly fill your energy...
So then I can leave, and try to find another place.
There isn`t much to write about tonight, so just hang in there, readers. Write tomorrow

July 3
Okay, journal.
Im in the mess hall,feeding off the energy of some of the crystals right now. Ive been taught how to change, and im currently practicing two forms, a purple pegasus I call Thunderstruck, and an altered version of myself, having a black coat and purple hair but in the my old style, and my cutie mark, well its the same. No pony would notice, right?
I think I love being a changeling. It`s amazing! Everyone is nice here, mostly, but I still need to leave.
I`m about to be taught how to fly after I finish my break.
It`s nice that we get as much time on our break as we want, gives me time to write.
The hive seems to be at a shortage of food right now, so i`m just finishing my last crystal source.
Write later
I`m back! I learned how to fly better than before.
I went from crashing to the wall, to at least having a straight pattern. Magic was next, and I aced it. Changeling magic is slightly more complex than normal, but remember that weakening spell I had at the beginning?
Turns out the links in the horn matched that of changeling magic!
So when I showed the teacher, he said that I should tell the queen, that this would be helpful in the construction of the hive storage!
I`ve already helped out here. But I still wonder about Artax... Where is she?
Otherwise, theres another pony I worry for... Im kind of his literal ONLY friend. Put it this way, I cant let it out that hes alive, but I can say i`m the one to resurrected him.
I gathered these dark shards, and now hes alive again. Well he wasnt ever dead , more of in between.
Enough of that, now. I`ll write later.
Ive gotten to where I can fly really good now! I think ill try and leave tonight. I have one more class I must go to first though, its the last one of today. Im supposed to learn about feeding.
For some reason, it seems really easy to learn as a changeling! I don`t know why, but it just is!
The hive is OK, I guess, a little dull- it could use Rarity right now. Desperately, it could use Rarity.
Maybe now that I can change into something other than my old self, she`ll actually listen to and befriend me!
Yeah, i`m not really popular with the whole elements of harmony gang. I have a bit of a bad past, with certain types of magic, well one type... I practiced dark magic...
Yeah, maybe now I can start over.
Wait- no. I can`t. Not because of him.
Well, for him, more of. Ill disguise myself, but otherwise, ill just stay away from the elements

Alright, Im leaving now, first im going to find Artax, then S- him. I`ll erase that letter later. No need in getting caught protecting him.
I`ve got the needed materials
1) I stole like 15 crystals, theyll last me until Ponyville or the Crystal empire, but no Canterlot. Im not going back there!
I haven`t heard of the queen in the hive lately. Maybe she died?
Right.
2) a saddle bag
3) some bread, apparently that replenishes our energy more than a lot of other stuff. eh.
4) YOU!!! well, this journal, along with some quails.
I`m kind of worried about the hive. They seem nice and all, but their food source is low, only getting lower too.
And their queen has not ordered any changelings, so i`ve heard. Even Celestia orders her guards to do things at least ONCE a day.

June 6
I found the pegasus again. She seems to want to run from me, but I dont know why. Maybe shes a criminal or just some hobo who`s hiding in the princesses castle.
Nevertheless, Im pursuing her. Ill get her eventually, though right now I think I need food... I`m hungry.
Pinkie Pie threw some random party today, I think for me, but Id have almost no way of knowing, and I dont care. The emotions I tasted were AMAZING! Ill be full for the rest of the day! I made a friend, you could say. Her name was late night breeze, or night breeze, and she seemed okay. Shes a little... Shy, but none the less, the party was great, im brimming with energy, and ill go after that pony for sure now!
I did it! I caught her!
I`m going to help her tomorrow in the morning.
Its night time. Artax seems to really like it here, but I dont think staying in some castle forever would go by with Twilight.t have got into this.
Maybe hes looking for me.
July 8
Hey, journal. Something terrible happened. Well... Maybe not that terrible, but it`s bad.
She gasped, and left. I hope she only saw Stargleam, not the transforming part.
Theres some sort of festival going on, and me and Daze are just eating the emotions while on a Ferris wheel.
Pinkie Pie prepared it, all in one day too! I suppose everythings going well. But Twilight keeps looking at me funny.
Rainbow Dash seems to ask my personal questions, trying to get under my fur. And Pinkie Pie? She`s normal again. Like the ally never even existed.
I found something... It scares me... To death, almost.

But that was it.m a changeling, chances are theyll check Daze too. Were leaving tonight. We might go to Manehatten or maybe even the Crystal empire.
I still have to tell Daze about this. She doesnt even know about the note yet. She just got here, ill write back soon.
She seemed reluctant at first, but after showing her the letter she began to panic, insisting we leave now. I told her that we couldn`t because they would see us and most likely begin a pursuit.
We have our things gathered, i`m going to go to the cafe and get a coffee maybe, and feed some more.
Were leaving now.
I`ll probably try to gather some gems with my bits to store love in. (our food bags, you could say).
We found a pair of traveling ponies, whom called themselves 'Flim ' and 'Flam '. They gave off no love and more or less drained our energy some. I think they were changelings. Ill write again tomorrow, but were not sleeping or anything, no. We cant afford that right now.
July 10
Why. Why. Why.s all I have to think about!
They came, the elements. Twilight, Rainbow... Stop. Stop. Just stop.
Ill go over my day real quick~ That should calm me down. And actually inform you.
We reached manehatten this morning. Its noon by the way.
There wasnt any boundary ward for Manehatten, so me and Daze just trotted in. The amount of ponies was amazing!t lose or gain energy.
The only true spot for recharging that weve found so far are cafes.
We both like this one, called the '*tea leaf inn*'. Well... I call it a cafe, but its really an inn.
I have to write later, too busy right now. Bye~
We finished the errands, so now I can explain the... Elements.t talk unless I wanted twilight to hear some female voice within a stallions body.that ?!
July 13
Hey, journal, just need to write down something awesome!
Daze was out by herself to get some bread. Artax didnt come because she had to help me with the clothing place, which I found out was called, '*Blue Paws clothes*'. The owner wants to change it to Blue heart soon, and then maybe Blue Star- but she said that`s a little far for now.
Anyways, Daze told me the whole thing went something like this:
She was walking close by the farmers market, and noticed the cry of... something. It wasn`t a pony, that was for sure.
A bat.
The bat returned to it`s original form, and happily followed Daze around the rest of the day.
I learned that through some observation today. I`m so glad she found a pet!
That`s all for today, journal. I may start skipping a few days, though. Not much is happening lately.
July 20
God, she knows a lot.
Me and Daze went out with Spotted Leaf for some, tests. Not exactly, but whatever. Spotted Leaf led us to some run down park. Only stupid teenagers would come here. And changelings, I guess. She took us over to some building. Looked like a bomb shelter gone wrong.
She told us we had a nice surprise coming, and just to stay calm when we saw this. I understand why now.
Changelings.s called Maple.
The last one was really a shy stallion with a blue back. He didnt say much, except that his name was Silent Whisper.
Back onto training. We left the changelings as they went to go find food for the 'hive'.
She isn`t the best with flying though. Daze beat us as her regular form, me and Spotted Leaf just went as some random Pegasi.
After our 'training' session, it had already become midnight, so we called it a night and flew home together, got some coffee, and called it a night.
June 29, Canterlot.
Im eagerly anticipating the wedding, even though I havent been invited, I just think of being near a wedding for a princess good enough. I wonder how many were invited?
Oh, that doesn`t matter, what does is this new spell I invented!
You have to match the links within the scroll rather complexly, but otherwise, its amazing! It can weaken anything to the point of exhaustion. Not that exciting, I know, but in combat or when building, or even alchemy! Then its the next best thing to crude physical moves.
Putting that aside, I have a meeting with princess Cadence in two days.
Im going to converse on the political sides of the waging war in the badlands. Something about these weird creatures I heard of, eh. Dont bother me any!
Right now i`m on the train to Canterlot, were close to being there, actually.
Me and my pet draken. Their similar to regular dragons except they don`t grow from greed. They grow normally- yet SUPER slowly, and only get about as tall as a stallion.
Mine is roughly half that, is silver and has purple wavy hair. She has fur at the end of her tail, and bright yellow eyes. Her horns are slightly curved and not long, and fade into purple at the tips. Her chest has a small tuft of fur, tipped with purple also, and her scales are hidden behind her fur, silver too.
I call her Artax , I guess because I just like the name, and I think I heard it somewhere before.
One more thing about her. She can talk. She has this ability called telepathy, so she doesn`t talk with her mouth, but can create a voice with her mind.
Were here! As I write this, were turning into the station! Good thing I have magic to write my thoughts while I walk around and do other things.
WOW. This place is beautiful! The colored buildings and the castle! I love it! A lot better than my crumby old house.
The markets are nice, every pony is just so nice! I need to check into the hotel soon.
I`m back. I took a break from writing and explored the city, almost getting lost several times. Artax seems to like this place too, but not as much as me, that is!
We checked into the hotel, and I think ill sleep soon, Im just so... Tired.
Artax is already asleep, she`s cute like that, curled up in a ball.

July 4
Okay, I think their looking for me or something. I can occasionally see changelings flying, in their original form, saying something about a lost civilian. I- I found Artax, well she found me.
She has wings, so she kind of surprised me while in the air. Im glad I have her, and it makes it harder for the changelings to find me.
I`ve taken a different disguise, as a yellow stallion, embarrassing... but I also have blue hair, so that works.
No changeling will notice me, I hope. Its kind of cold, so Ive decided to camp out near Canterlot. If any changelings try to get me, well, I, and they, are in for a surprise.
One changeling came close to me. I guess i`m able to sleep through the night as a changeling, thank Talos.
I suppose lady Mara watches over me, even in Equestria.
Im attempting to stay awake, but without some coffee? Meh, I doubt ill last tildawn. I miss my old home a bit, now. I mean, Falkreath. I miss the town. But I mainly miss Markarth. Oh, that was a beautiful city, even with its adopted name, the town of silver and blood .
Will write tomorrow morning maybe, or when I get close to Ponyville, yeah, I decided to go there, even though the elements live there.
I miss him.

July 5
I`m in Ponyville. I already went back to my original form, the black unicorn, and have been wandering, looking for- something, I guess.
A strange purple princess met me today, and we talked. Well I would call her strange, if I was this unicorn. But i`m not. I know Twilight.
I know that traitor .
Well, we talked, I showed her my complex spell, which to my joy she failed at casting. Changeling magic, I suppose.
I showed her my skill in other spells, and she seemed to take it as a positive thing! Her radiating emotion tasted amazing! I love it.
Maybe I can make some friends to feed off of.
Though, the first five I tried turned out as a flunk.
One was too revolting at my coat, three too emotional for my tastes, and the other just gave off some weird vibe of energy...
I found Pinkie Pie, and decided she would be the best candidate for feeding. It turned out she was suspicious of me. But she had soon shrugged it off and I collected enough love to supply myself a few hours with. Thats all for now, though. Ill find somewhere to stay soon. I should watch out for Pinkie Pie.
I think Pinkie knows. She seems to avoid me some. I should have expected this.
But I dont know, maybe shes just onto something else with her pinkie senses. I found Vynal Scratch today. She was hosting a DJ, and somehow happened to start a song I know, well two, if you count some pony named Synthis singing broken wings and the mirror . Twilight sparkle said I could stay at her house for now, since I don `t have anywhere else to go.
Her emotions radiate good enough, so I think i`ll have enough energy by tomorrow to last me hours.
Of course i`ll still have to eat breakfast and all.
In her castle, I found some other pony, whom was a pegasus. She was a light blue, and had dark blue faded hooves.
Her mane was a deep sea-green, and her muzzle was also a faded blue. Her eyes were a magenta, like mine.
She didn `t have a cutie mark, even as an adult. Which led me to some suspicions.
I asked twilight about it, but she says i`m the only guest here.
Artax has become good friends with Spike now, but I think she may somehow blow my cover. Good thing my dear draken is trust worthy! -Even though she`s talkative-
Ill look into the mare later, as she hasnt left, but seems to camp in here secretly.

July 7
it turns out Daizy Sky knows something I dont about a changeling.
We have this ability to channel our energy into other things, like ponies and our own kind. Its a little hard, but me and Daze managed to channel some into each other, her doing better than me.
But I have a plan
I`ve disguised myself as a male blue and black paint unicorn, and Daze is currently an adult mare with wings and a black body.
Yep, were disguising our selves as the 'parents' of our... Well, disguises. I`ll write the results in later
It went well somehow! Twilight agreed that me and Daze could share a room.
But itll have to do until I can find a job, hopefully something to do with magic, Id like to use my talent. It`s in my cutie mark after all!
I think I found some sort of job. Rarity needs help with some gem enchanting, she apparently doesnt know the spell, and it just never worked out with her level of magic. She wants me to make the gems super sparkly with my magic. Probably for some dresses so they would be a lot more valuable, the price being raised with shining gems by at least 1,000 bits.
Eh. Id rather do something funner, but this will have to do. Its 10 bits an hour, so thats at least a little bit above average wage. Then I can either move, or at least get another room. Even for a kingdom this is a little cramped.

The empire came into view about an hour ago.
Ill right later, my magic is just too weak right now. Its morning.
Okay, better.t guarding it anymore. Seems its some giant enchanted crystal that powers this thing, from what im told. I think its to protect the empire from leftover changeling attacks. Darn it!
But there is some good emotions to feed off of though.
We decided to rest at an inn close to ManeHatten.m tired, all the traveling today, you know?
Well, goodnight. Artax is talking to Daze. Maybe we can find her a pet soon or something. She seems a little lonely, even when I get into a deep conversation with her.

July 12
Im sorry I didnt write yesterday. Too busy trying to run errands and find an actual job.
Me and Daze split up to go run errands for Spotted Leaf. I had already completed ten items by the time I found a store roughly fifteen minutes from the inn. Some buckskin color stallion was hiring- thank Celestia he isn`t the owner, his wife is.
The shop is a clothing department, small but expensive. I should get minimum wage- being 12 bits an hour, and I have to clean the place.
Daze hasnt found a job, and I took up the last slot for hiring with the store. Maybe we can go see if Spotted Leafs cafe is hiring, even though I think she`ll just keep Daze to errands. Artax is with Daze right now, too.
I think she`s trying to help her find a pet. I hope so. That would be nice.
Hey, its around 6:00 right now.
Daze didnt find a pet or a job or even seemed to have a chance at it. Manehatten is too big!
But I still bet were the only changelings here, sadly. Hope no pony finds my journal...
I just now noticed this! I dont even know the name of the store Im going to work at!s cool.
Wish she would of done that *earlier*! Meh, I can deal with it.
Its really late, and me and Daze are actually pretty full on energy, so I think I should go to bed so I can store the rest for tomorrow.
July 15
I might not write for a small while. Nothing fun is happening. Okay, maybe fun is a little strong, interesting! NOTHING INTERESTING IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daze and her bat whom she named midnight have been running errand, and we almost have enough to buy a larger room. Spotted Leaf is basically our friend now. She pays Daze nicely, I work at the store, and now weve saved up around 50 extra bits. well thats my share.
This entry will be boring and dull, just because nothing`s happening.
A pony was found dead today.
That`s all. Literally. Nothing else happened.
July 19
Sorry I haven`t wrote in a while. Too much work...told . I swear, that about made my circuits blow.
Now my days off are supposed to be Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Tomorrow`s a day off!
I just taught her the more complex wards and telekinesis. And a few minor spells like how to convert magic energy into spheres. Like a fire ball.
Now, the good part. Its about Spotted Leaf!
I was talking to her about better jobs in the area, and noticed something... Peculiar. Spotted Leaf was supposed to have a cutie mark of a brown leaf on top of coffee.
It wasnt there. At all.
She was swallowed by a green flame, and she jumped out of it and at me. As a changeling.
She said she wanted to be like a pony, but it was ruined. Princess Celestia found and almost killed her!
