After the death of the lord protector, Corvo he is contacted by the outsider and makes a deal with the God like being. Kill five God like being and get to see Emily once again.

Many years after the plauge, Corvo grows old and sadly passes to the other side... Or so you'd think and you would be correct if it wasn't for the fact that Corvo unlike most men was marked by the outsider, and he needs corvo to do something for him.
