"And there we go. Sorted all the out mail for pick up tomorrow."
Hey there. You all are probably wondering what I'm doing and who I am. My real name is not really important, but my friends call me Specs. Because I wear glasses, or spectacles is another word for it, how original. Right now I'm helping finishing today's work in the mail room in Ponyville with three of my other friends: Rose, Knick, and Knack.
"It's about time," the pinkish-skinned unicorn with a red mane said. In case the color of her body is clear enogh, she's Rose. One my friends I mentioned in the previous paragraph. Her real name is Rosemary Sparkle. And no, she's not Twilight's daughter; she was adopted by her when she was left at the doorstep of the castle in Ponyville. I'm just surprised there hasn't been more fillies left on the doorstep of the castle after this many years.
Anyways, she had to be given Twilight's last name for documental purposes. But what was more wierd was she was left on the doorstep right before Twilight came home, according to eye witness reports. To top it off, the rest of the mane 6 was off doing a mission for the huge Dungeons and Dragons map they have in the conference room.
The orphange that was built in Ponyville 20 years before today was willing to take her under their care, but many mouths dropped and many fanfictions wrote by fillies that imagined being Twilight's child was destroyed when Twilight announced she would take her. Of course, she contacted with her mentor, Princess Celestia, or Sun-butt some ponies call her, before making the announcement. She surprisenly agreed to the decision and now is Twilight's daughter.
What was more funny was the rest of the mane 6's reaction as soon as they came home after the mission. The news of Twilight's new child was spread like wildfire across the ponies of Equestria and the other mane 6 was very anxious to talk one-on-five.
"That took almost all afternoon!" Rose continued. "I don't think I can feel my hooves after all that."
"How is that possible?" the light blue-skinned pegasus with three different tones of blue in his mane replied. "Out of all of us, you were the one taking breaks every ten minutes all afternoon!"
This stallion here is my friend Knack. His real name Lightning Dash. This one is actually the descendant of Rainbow and Soarin Dash. Soarin for some reason didn't have a last name and took Rainbow's last name instead.
When Rainbow was pregnant with Knack, she had to take leave from the wonderbolts for obvious reasons. The way she descibed it was a painstaking experience to not practice for the annual competition at Rainbow Falls. It's like the Equestria games, but more like practice for the local teams in between Equestria games.
Here's how it went down:
Rainbow got pregnant after their victory of gold medals at the Equestria games and ponies can only assume she and Soarin had their own little "celebration" after the celebration party at Rainbow Falls. After the nine months, she had to work very hard to get her "athletic body" back for three months for the next competition. But she also somehow managed to be a good mother while training. And she surprisenly won the competition. I had to give her props when I heard the story and read all the articles that were printed all over Equestria from that day.
Anyways, they live at Rainbow's house and both Rainbow and Soarin are still in the wonderbolts to this day. Knack obviously is following his parents' footsteps and becoming a wonderbolt as well.
"I only took like seven ten minute breaks this afternoon!" Rose continued. "I'm not really cut out for this mailing business."
"But when it comes to dresses, you don't take any breaks at all and don't even sleep until it's done!" I replied. "Three times you almost had passed out from exhaustion and your mom and Rarity found you almost passed out on the floor those three times."
"You don't even wake up until 12 noon on weekends and holidays," Knick said. "And are almost tardy to 1st period each day even though you have to arrive an hour before school starts because of your mom. You just doze off in the bathroom or library until the bell rings."
"I'm not meant to wake up soooo early in the morning," Rose grumbled. "I need what Aunt Rarity says beauty sleep."
"My mom don't believe in that mumbo jumbo stuff," a voice of a mare said coming into the room. "Look at this beauty," she says as she walks in, "the boys at the high school are practically drooling when I walk by and I only sleep a few hours a day."
This yellowish-skinned mare with an orange mane is Knack. Her real name is Golden Smith. According to the local Apple family in Ponyville, Applejack's, Big Mac's, and Applebloom's last names are Smith. Granny Smith had a son, married a mare and had the three foals. But something happened to their parents and they're orphans but was taken care by Granny Smith. Her real name is unknown to all of us.
I look from Knack to Knick and see him gawking at her rear view pointing at him. I quickly give him a signal to snap out of it before the others notice.
"I don't need that thing you call beauty sleep," Knack continues. She turns and spins in a circle as if she's in a pagent. "Ah have to wake up early in the morning everyday to buck apples and still look very sexy when ah go to school. All the boys would want a piece of this when they can. Ah know they think of me when they go to bed each night and wake up in the morning. Mah parents even caught some boys here watching me work in the morning every few days and boy was mah pops was mad when he caught 'em. I'm the only reason the boys here in Ponyville wake up in the morning and also why you boys are so popular with your guy friends," she says leaning and resting her head with her hoof on my head while I'm sitting and points to Knick.
"You are not the only reason why Knick and I have guys crowding us and trying to be our friends," I reply.
"Oh, so the boys also have an eye on the others gals too?"
"I'm not saying who though," I say with a smirk.
She grabs my head on one side and squeezes it against her cheek on the other while looking at the same direction. "C'mon, you can tell me. Out of us four gals, which one is more popular?"
"I'm not saying," I say in a playful tone.
"Is it yours truly?" she says while pointing to herself, releasing me from her grasp. "Or is it miss Rosy over here?" she says pointing at Rose.
"Me?" Rose replies.
"Yes you. Imagine some stallion thinking of you right now huh?" Rose starts blushing and smiling. "Maybe they are thinking of you in some... 'other' way," she says with a side smile at her direction. "C'mon, do you have an eye for somepony out there?" She blushes even more, almost to the redness of her mane. "Spill it gurl."
"Let her be," I say cutting in, " you're making her embarrassed."
"What about the other two?" Knack says looking at me. "Do they have any crushes on them?"
"Well, there's-" my sentenced is interrupted by the sound of mail falling on the floor. We turn and see Knick on the floor with them. More likely he was staring at Knack's flank again dropped them and somehow himself on the floor.
"Oops," Knick says. Just then, Derpy walks in from the back room.
"Thanks everypony for-" she stops and looks at Knick and the pile of letters that are on the floor. "What happened here?"
"Don't ask," Knick says with a groan.
"Oh, um, thanks helping me tonight with this mail. It would've taken me all night to finish this."
"It felt like forever," Rose grumbled.
"I just need to move these piles of letters to the back and we'll be don- whoa!" she yells as 3 piles of letters fall to the ground, mixing with Knick's pile and on top of him.
We all look at each other for a moment. Then burst of laughing. The whole thing looked funny from our perspective, but not so much from Knick's perspective. Her starts blushing from embarassment.
I lock the door with the keys while we are laughing. "Well," I say after our moment, "looks like we have overtime."
Rose jumps off the bench and starts walking to the front door. "Nope, I'm not staying another minute." She stops in place when she realizes the door is locked. She looks towards me, dangling the keys to the front door.
"That means you too Rose." She groans as she looks at the big pile that is still covering Knick on the floor.

"Miss Cuwator!"
"Yes?"
"I can't find my glasses..."
"Oh, poor little thing."
This here is my foster parent in the orphanage in Ponyville. It's a small one with only room for up to 15 fillies, but there are only seven of us so far.
My foster parent's name is Curator Heartling and she and two maids runs the orphanage. She has a baby blue coat and her mane is like the color white but also looks like cream, or that could be my eyes... I have poor eyesight and need to wear my glasses almost all the time. I don't know how long she has been taking care of me, but she says she doesn't want to talk about it with me yet.
"Where do you think you last put it?" asked Miss Curator.
"I don't know, I can't find it..." I stagger, looking around for my glasses, but I can't find it on my bed, in the closet, in my bowl of cereal, or even the toilet! "I'm going to check the toilet again!" I say running across the dining room. "Maybe they got stuck in the pipes!"
"AGAIN!? Hold on! I found them right here!" I look at her direction. "They were BEHIND your bowl!" she says giggling.
Of course! I checked only IN my bowl and not AROUND it! "Thanks Miss Cuwator!" I give her a big hug.
"Its okay Shady. I didn't want you going through the toilet... again... When did you look through the toilet?"
"Um, about a few minutes ago?" I say looking down.
"Just don't go through the toilet again, okay?" I nod. "Good, now hurry to the playground! There are colts and fillies out there from Ponyville for you to play with!" I quickly put on my glasses and run to the side door of the building that leads to the playground.
"WAIT! You aren't going out there without brushing your teeth!" Miss Curator yells.
I hurry to the bathroom and brush my teeth. It's kinda hard to brush them when I'm a little earth pony. After that is done, I hurry to the side door again where Miss Curator is waiting there with a bag in her mouth.
"Here, there are some cookies in there in case you get hungry again. Now hurry, go!"
Cookies after breakfast? This has to be the best day of my life!!!
I look around and see a couple of foals playing in the sandbox, in the slide and... ON THE SWINGS!!?? NO NO NO NO NO!!! They took all the seats!!! I sit down and look around and try to find something to do. I can't exactly walk up and say: "HEY! I want to use the swings. Can we be friends and I can have a turn?" Who knows what they say or do? I see that a filly is trying to dig through the dirt and the colt beside her is watching. I look inside the bag and find that I have four chocolate chip cookies in there. At least I hope they're chocolate and not raisins. I don't want to find out now.
I see that there is a little toy shovel on the floor in front of me and decide to just play with the dirt where I'm sitting at. I don't want to talk with anypony right now and don't anypony to yell at me when- ow! Did a rock fall from the sky and hit me on my head?
"HEY!!!" yelled a voice of a filly.
I look around, scared half to death and see the filly from the sandbox besides me, staring into my soul...
"Sorry for yelling," she says in a sad mood. "Ah was trying to get your attention and looks like you had a hard head," she says knocking on my head.
"OW. That huts."
"Sorry. Um, can ah use that shovel? Pleeeeeeease?"
"Um, I guess so..." I hand it to her.
"Thanks!" She starts to run off back to the sandbox. "Oh, you should come with me! We can dig together!"
What type of day is this? First cookies after breakfast and now I'm hanging out with a filly? What more can a colt ask for?
I arrive at the sandbox and see the filly already digging.
"Knack!!!" yells the colt. "You won't find anything in there! You'll just reach the bottom of the box!"
"Ah'm not giving up!" replies the filly named... Knack? What type of name is that? "Ah'll find something in here. Maybe treasure, or maybe... bones? Who knows? Maybe some filly died here long ago?"
"EWWW! NO! I don't want to see bones! Stop it Knack or we all will be haunted forever!"
"Haunted? Ah don't believe in that mumbo jumbo stuff. Mah pops says there is not such thing as ghosts!"
"Um," I say in a quiet voice, "I don't want to be haunted by ghosts, please. I don't know if they exist but I don't want to take a chance at it..."
"Listen to him Knack!" says the colt. "First you throw a rock at him and yell at him, now you're scaring him!"
"Alright fine," replies Knack. Still, what type of name is that? "For the sake of, of, say, what was your name again?"
"You don't even know the name of the colt that you took a shovel from?"
"Quiet Knick!" Knack says at Knick's direction. "I'm trying to find out!" She's looking at my direction now. I don't know what to do!!! "Well, what's your name little colt?"
"Um, its..." C'mon, c'mon!!! Don't mess this up! You got this! "It's... shady..."
