The Comforter and the Company
Spike sighed in dismay. Once again, he was all alone in the castle. Well, he can't say that for sure, because the guards are on duty. The Mane 6 went off to Canterlot due to an important meeting by Princess Celestia and won't be back till the day after tomorrow.
Spike would've played with Owlicious outside, but it was raining.
Spike would've chatted with Flash Sentry, but he was on duty.
Spike would've read comics, but he already read them over and over.
Spike looked out from the window and wished they would come back soon. He missed them and the castle grew quiet without them. Spike dragged himself to his own bedroom and searched his basket. He threw out his dolls in process but couldn't find her.
Finally, Spike raised his claws up and yelled in worry, "Where is she?!"
"Spike?"
Spike turned his head to find none other than Flash Sentry standing by the door, staring at him with wide eyes, "A-are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Spike groaned, dropping on his basket bed. "I just can't find my favorite plush!"
"You mean this?"
Flash Sentry took out a Rarity plushie from his back. Spike stared at him with his jaw dropped opened, "H-how did y-you....W-where-?"
"I found it in the kitchen," Flash scratched his neck as he trotted closer and gave the doll to Spike. "Is this what you're looking for?"
"Y-yeah," Spike stuttered, hugging the plushie. "Thanks, Flash. I knew I could count on you."
"It's fine," Flash waved it off.
"Are you going home?" Spike asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yeah," Flash nodded, "but I'll be back for my shift tomorrow morning."
Spike sighed, disappointed, "Yeah, sure. Have fun."
"You'll do just fine," Flash smiled. "How about you take a nap? Time goes by faster when you sleep."
"I'll do that," Spike agreed, pulling the covers on his body. "Good night."
"Have a good rest," Flash assured as he flicked the lights off and trotted out silently.
"Hey, Flash?"
Snickers... Spike tried hard not to laugh.
"Yeah?"
Brace yourself, Sentry.... Spike thought with an evil grin and mind.
"When will you marry Twilight?"
"S-Spike!"
Bwahahah! Nailed it! Spike smirked wide.
"Ah, sheesh, relax. I'm kidding, though I would love to see you guys get married."
"Good. Night. Spike."
Ouch! He sounds stern, thought Spike.
"Good night!"
The door closed as Spike heard the rain beating against the castle. Spike huddled closer to his Rarity and mumbled, "Spike's here to save you, Lady Rarity."
"Why thank you, Sir Spikey-Wikey!"
Spike blushed profusely. "It's nothing, Lady Rarity."
"But of course it's something! Is there anything else I could do in return?"
"Yes, Lady Rarity. There is. Please answer me, will you marry me?"
"Of course I will, Spike."
Spike made kissing noises before letting himself fall asleep in the embrace of Rarity and the sounds of raindrops.
"I love you, Spikey-Wikey."
"I love you too, Rarity," Spike yawned before drifting to Slumberland.
"Good night, Spikey-Wikey."
The Comforter and the Company
"Now now, darlings, I won't be long in Canterlot. I just have to make some adjustments for Fancy Pants."
"Are you sure, Rarity?" Asked Twilight anxiously. "Spike must have missed you terribly."
"Not as much as you!" Rarity giggled. "I promise I will write letters to you. I'll just be here for a few days!"
"B-but aren't you going t-to be a-alone?" Fluttershy whimpered.
"I will," Rarity frowned, "but not to worry! You are always beside me when we're far away!"
The group 'aw'ed as they hugged her tightly. "We'll miss you!" Pinkie sniffed. "I Pinkie Promise that you will get the best 'Welcome-Back-Rarity' party ever!"
"I'm sure you will," Rarity beamed with pride. "Now you must not be late for your train! Good bye!"
"Bye, Rarity," Twilight smiled, hugging her, "We'll wait for you."
Rarity watched them ride the train and wave goodbye to her. Rarity smiled as she waved back. As soon as they were out of sight, Rarity sighed in sadness as she trotted back to her hotel room. Rarity dropped her bag on the table and began designing for Fancy Pants.
"It must be perfect!" Rarity insisted, "Must not make any terrible mistakes!"
During her designs, she accidentally knocked down her bag, revealing her jewelries and a picture of Spike. "Oh for the love of-"
Rarity paused as she caught the picture.
"Spike must have missed you terribly."
"Oh, Spike," she cooed in a hush tone as she gently clutched it. "I miss you too."
Rarity got out of her seat and laid on the bed.
"You're going to come home, right?"
"Of course I will, Spikey-Wikey! I won't be gone too long!"
"Pinkie promise?"
"I pinkie promise."
Rarity closed her eyes and thought of her friends.
"I promise I will be home. And I certainly won't break a Pinkie Promise!"
The Comforter and the Company
Twilight groaned as she pushed away the book she had just finished. She already read ten thick books within a day! Nonstop!
"Why can't I stop reading?!" She asked, slamming her head in her pillows between her lines. Twilight sighed in tiredness as she rolled off the bed. She heard a squeak under her back. Twilight slowly got up to her hooves, hoping that it wasn't a Rarity plushie. She eventually found her Flash Sentry plushie!
"Oh there you are!" Twilight cooed, picking it up. "I've been looking all over for you!"
Twilight placed the small plushie on her head, near her horn. "I can't wait till it's bedtime! We can cuddle together, tell stories, oooh! And-"
"Twilight?!"
"Princess Twilight?!"
Twilight froze and felt her cheek burning up as she saw Flash and Spike staring at her. Especially Flash. He blushed.
"O-oh! Flash! I-I forgot y-y-you were coming i-in!" Twilight stammered. She looked at herself. She was still wearing pajamas since the morning she started reading.
"I-I....Y-yeah," Flash stuttered. Now he was grinning like an idiot. Spike was clutching onto his Rarity plushie and his blanket as he kept staring at Twilight.

"I should probably go now," Flash excused himself as he flew away.
"Why do these things keep happening to me?!" Twilight groaned as she buried herself in her hooves.
Spike finally let out a snickering expression as he teased, "Now you're going to marry him?"
"SPIKE!!!"
