Everything was peaceful and happy in Ponyville. It was just an ordinary day for Excalibur.
He did his daily routine, he went out to buy groceries, and he said hi to his friends. But on that night
everything changed.
Excalibur was just asleep in his bed feeling nice, feeling fine, feeling safe.
“Excalibur!”
Excalibur wakes up and looks around for the pony who said that.
“Dusk?!” Excalibur called out. “Venom?!”
“Excalibur!” Venom and Dusk both say, running up the stairs.
“What are both doing here at 3:38 in the morning?” Excalibur says, wiping his eyes and yawning. “You must be here for a very good reason.”
“We are definitely here for a good reason.” said Venom.
“I can't believe we are even still alive!” exclaimed Dusk.
“Well what's the problem?” said Excalibur, stretching.
“Well.” Dusk started. “I was just sleeping and I hear this noise.”
“She basically just looked out her window and saw a HUGE bee.” Venom finished, preening his feathers.
“So let me guess...” Excalibur said. “You ran over to Venom's house to see if he had his special wasp, bee, ant, any kind of bug killer prepared?”
“Pretty much.” Dusk replied.
“Well when she got to my house I told her that I still needed 5 days to finish it.” Venom explained. “When all of a sudden a huge bear was clawing at the door.”
“Well how many ponies are panicking?” asked Excalibur, looking out of the window.
“A lot I bet.” said Venom.
“Well what are we waiting for?” said Excalibur. “Lets get out there and save the town!”
“Um... Is that not the Elements of Harmony's job?” questioned Dusk.
“They can't help against these monsters.” said Excalibur.
“I agree.” said Venom. “I have a ton of new potions to try!”
“Fine.” said Dusk.
Outside of Excalibur's house...
“Well we gotta tra.” said Applebloom.
“Applebloom catching Pokemon in the game is a lot easier.” said Scootaloo, looking up at the fierce Vespiqueen and Ursaring.
“She's right Applebloom.” said Sweetie Belle.
The Mane 6 are at the place where Vespiqueen and Ursaring are.
“Alright girls we have to have strategy.” said Twilight, analyzing the things the beasts were doing. “Make sure to get everypony out of harm's way first though.”
Excalibur clears his throat behind them.
“Girls you can go ahead and leave.” Excalibur said as he pushed them out of the way. “We got this.”
“NO!” Twilight shouted. “I'm not having another incident like how you dumped me.”
“No you were the one who dumped me.” Excalibur retorted.
“Look it doesn't matter if the whole town gets destroyed.” Applejack said.
“Settle this later in a magic duel?!” Twilight said.
“Sure thing.” said Excalibur.
“Hey guys!” the CMC said.
Everypony turned his or her head towards the CMC.
“We are coming over there!” the CMC shouted, waving their hooves in the air.
The shouting got the attention of the Pokemon.
Excalibur sees that the monster is about to swing at The CMC
“GIRLS!” shouted Excalibur, running towards her.
The monster is about to swing when Excalibur gets in between them and Ursaring.
The monster swings and Excalibur puts up a Shield, blocking the shot. The shield took no
damage what so ever.
The CMC are cowering in fear when she looks up and sees Excalibur standing there.
“Go.” said Excalibur.
The CMC nodded their heads and ran to the group.
Excalibur puts down the shield.
“Alright you overgrown mass of fur.” Excalibur taunted. “BRING IT!”
“Wow!” said Sweetie Belle, watching the fight. “This is just like a Pokemon battle!”
“Pokemon?” questioned Pinkie Pie. “Whats that?”
“Oh, it's a really fun game where you get to choose your starter and...” Scootaloo said.
“Lets just focus on the fight now.” said Rainbow Dash.
“Take this!” Excalibur shoots a magic beam at the target.
“See!” squealed Sweetie Belle. “Its like he's using psybeam!”
“Your right!” said Scootaloo.
“Yeah!” said Applebloom. “Go Excalibur!”
“Tag up!” said Dusk and Venom.
“All yours!” replied Excalibur, switching places with Venom and Dusk.
“Wow.” said Applejack. “They are using real teamwork to beat the monsters.”
“What can I say?” replied Excalibur. “We are very good at that.”
Dusk and Venom manage to finish off the Ursaring and Vespiqueen.
“Well our work here is done.” said Venom.
“See you girls around!” shouted Excalibur, running towards home.
“Well, we best be heading back now.” said Applejack.
"See you all in the morning." said Rarity.
All ponies but Twilight leave.
"I'm going to run some tests on these... creatures."
So Twilight stayed up all night and ran tests... and ran more tests... and even more tests.
In the morning everypony is trotting along the street.
"Um... is that Twilight?" asked Rainbow Dash.
Twilight stayed up so long that she passed out from exhaustion.
"Yes Rainbow..." replied Rarity. "It is."
Twilight wakes up but is so dizzy.
"Oh hey." Twilight said, swaying from side to side.
"Are you okay?" asked Fluttershy.
"Yes." said Twilight. "I'm fine."
Suddenly a Drowzee comes out from behind her.
"What is that!?" said Excalibur, walking up to the Drowzee.
The Drowzee runs away.
Everypony was relieved when it ran away.
"Hey guys!" shouted Scootaloo.
"What is it?" asked Venom.
"Look what we found behind our clubhouse!" replied Sweetie Belle.
"Oh buck no." said Excalibur.
Behind them was a small little Dunsparce.
Fluttershy looks at it and smiles.
"You are so cute!" said Fluttershy, walking up to the Dunsparce.
The Dunsparce gets scared and uses screech on all of them.
"MY EARS!" shouted Twilight.
"MAKE IT STOP!" shouted Excalibur.
Suddenly the Dunsparce stops.
Everypony looked at it questionably.
"Dunsparce!" cried Dunsparce.
"What is it saying?" said Dusk.
"This is a Dunsparce!" said Scootaloo. "Whenever it gets scared it shrieks at it foes."
"How do you know that?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"There is this really fun game called Pokemon!" said Applebloom. "You can capture, train, play with, and feed, Pokemon!"
"Well sounds interesting." replied Venom.
"Anyway we will find out where this creature came from." said Twilight.
"And we will." said Excalibur.
"Put the Pokemon back where they came from." said Twilight and Excalibur.
“I can't believe that Pokemon are in our world!” said Sweetie Belle.
“Me neither.” said Scootaloo.
“Hey!” said Applebloom. “Maybe we could become Pokemon trainers!”
“Applebloom.” replied Scootaloo, “You know that your sisters and my mentor would never let us.”
“Who says that they have to find out?” said Applebloom, with a smile on her face.
“I agree with Applebloom.” said Sweetie Belle.
Scootaloo looks at both of them.
“Fine, we can become Pokemon trainers.” said Scootaloo, regretting this decision.
“Cutie Mark Crusader Pokemon trainers!” shouted the CMC.
In Ponyville...
“You ready Twilight?” Excalibur said.
“Always ready.” replied Twilight.
“The Magic Duel will commence... NOW!” shouted Pinkie Pie.
“Eat psychic beams!” Excalibur said, shooting a psychic beam at Twilight.
“You missed!” said Twilight.
“Try to dodge this!” shouted Twilight, shooting small projectiles at Excalibur.
“Nope!” said Excalibur, effortlessly teleporting out of the way.
While the battle is underway, Rainbow Dash is playing Pokemon.
“Hey Dashie!” shouted Pinkie Pie. “What'ca playing?”
“Pinkie Pie!” said Rainbow Dash, jumping up really high. “Please don't ever do that again.”
“Sorry.” said Pinkie Pie.
“Anyway, I'm trying out Pokemon.” replied Rainbow Dash. “It is actually surprisingly fun!”
Pinkie looks at the battle Rainbow is in.
“Wow!” excalimed Pinkie. “It looks just like the battle Twilight and Excalibur are having!”
“You right!” said Rainbow. “It is a clear resemblance to the game!”
“Have to go and declare the winner really fast.” said Pinkie Pie, running over to the finished battle.
“The winner is... EXCALIBUR!” shouted Pinkie Pie, raising Excalibur's hoof in the air.
“Yeah!” shouted Dusk and Venom.
“That's why you don't mess with me!” said Excalibur.
“Well we can get out of here.” said Venom.
“Bye-Bye.” said Dusk.
“Those guys really are jerks.” Twilight said.
“Occasionally they can be,” said Pinkie Pie. “but other times they are as nice as a triple chocolate chunk ice cream!”
“Well buck them!” shouted Twilight.
Everypony looks at her shocked.
“Twilight that's completely out of character,” said Pinkie Pie. “the people reading this fanfiction don't like that!”
“Well I guess your right,” replied Twilight. “Although who are you referring to?”
“The great people reading this fanfiction right now!” said Pinkie Pie.
“Um... okay.” said Twilight.
In the Everfree Forest.
“What are we doing here Applebloom?” questioned Scootaloo.
“Well we are gonna catch some Pokemon!” replied Applebloom.
“Don't you need pokeballs to do that?” said Sweetie Belle.
“Well Ahm sure we can find some!” said Applebloom.
“Dunsparce!” cried Dunsparce.
“Be quiet Dunsparce.” said Scootaloo.
“Hey look!” said Sweetie Belle, pointing at some red object.
“Hay!” shouted Applebloom, picking up the object. “These are pokeballs!”
“How convenient.” said Scootaloo.
“DUNSPARCE!” cried Dunsparce, hopping up and down.
“You want to be captured Dunsparce?” asked Applebloom.
“DUNSPARCE DUNSPARCE!” cried Dunsparce, now hopping higher than Pinkie Pie on a sugar rush.
“I guess that's a yes then.” said Sweetie Belle.
“The question is,” said Scootaloo. “who's going to catch it?”
They stood there looking at each other.
“I know!” shouted Sweetie Belle, breaking the silence. “We should let the Dunsparce decide!”
“Well how will we know which one it picked?” asked Applebloom.
“Easy,” replied Sweetie Belle. “we let it walk up to one of us.”
“Well okay then.” said Scootaloo.
“Alright Dunsparce!” said Applebloom. “Choose.”
The Dunsparce looked back and forth at each of them.
“Dunsparce?” said Dunsparce, looking back and forth.
“DUNSPARCE!” it cried, hopping over to Applebloom.
“Wow.” replied Applebloom. “I did not expect that.”
“Well what are you waiting for?” asked Sweetie Belle, waving her hooves. “Catch it!”
The Dunsparce touches Applebloom's pokeball and goes inside.
The pokeball instantly dings.
“Yes!” shouted Applebloom.
“Well we should get our Pokemon too.” said Scootaloo.
In Ponyville...
“Sweetie Belle?” called Rarity.
“Sweetie Belle!?” called Rarity, even louder. Starting to get very worried, she checked every nook and cranny.
“Where is she?” asked Applejack.
“I don't know!” shouted Rarity.
“Great,” replied Rainbow Dash. “we have no idea where Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle are.”
“GIRLS!” shouted Excalibur, bashing open the door.
“What!?” asked all of them.
“I found the CMC!” replied Excalibur.
“WHERE ARE THEY!?” asked all of them.
“They are by the Everfree Forest!” said Excalibur.
“Well what are we waiting for?” shouted Applejack. “Lets go save them!”
Back in the Everfree Forest...
“I love my new partner!” said Sweetie Belle.
“You managed to catch a Glameow!” replied Applebloom.
“That's nothing!” said Scootaloo. “Right Rufflet?”
“We should let them out of their pokeballs.” said Sweetie Belle.
“Good idea.” replied Applebloom.
They all throw their pokeballs into the air, releasing their Pokemon.
“Glameow.” said Glameow, rubbing up against Sweetie Belle.
“RUFFLET!” shouted Rufflet, flying onto Scootaloo's head.
“DUNSPARCE!” shouted Dunsparce, hopping over to Applebloom.
“You know what?” asked Applebloom. “We should have a battle!”
“Yeah!” replied Scootaloo. “A battle sounds nice!”
“Well then lets go to a more open area.” said Sweetie Belle.
“CUTIE MARK CRUSADER POKEMON TRAINERS!” shouted the CMC.
At the edge of the Everfree Forest.
“Hello?!” cried out Applejack.
“CMC?!” shouted Excalibur.
“Sweetie Belle?!” shouted Rarity.
“Scootaloo?!” cried out Rainbow Dash.
They all began to get worried, seeing as none of the CMC answered them. So, they decided to go the same way. They did not want to be lost in the Everfree Forest.
“If we don't find them now, it'll be sundown!” said Applejack.
There were very small sounds of impact from far away.
“Do you guys hear that?” Excalibur asked.
“Yeah we hear it.” said all of them.
“Well whatever it is we need to go to it!” said Excalibur. He was sure that those sounds were coming from the CMC. He picked up his pace and broke into a run.
“Well, lets go!” shouted Rainbow Dash. Following Excalibur rather hastily.
In the Everfree Forest...
“Dunsparce! Use Rollout!” said Applebloom.
“Dodge it Rufflet!” said Scootaloo.
“The Dunsparce and Rufflet are in a heated battle.” said Sweetie Belle. “It is anyone's game!”
The Rufflet dodges the Dunsparce.
“Now use Peck!” said Scootaloo.
“Dodge it and use Rollout!” shouted Applebloom.
The Rufflet misses and the Dunsparce starts rolling towards it.
“Rufflet look out!” shouted Scootaloo.
The Dunsparce hits the Rufflet knocking it out.
“Dang it.” said Scootaloo. “Well Rufflet you fought well... Return!”
“Rufflet is no longer able to battle, which means the winner is Dunsparce!” said Sweetie Belle, pointing her hoof at Applebloom and the Dunsparce.
“Yeah!” shouted Applebloom.
“DUNSPARCE!” cried Dunsparce.
“Wow you and Dunsparce are already in a perfect link!” said Sweetie Belle.
“Yeah.” replied Applebloom. “He trusts me.”
“Dunparce.” said Dunsparce, nodding.
The CMC were about to get up and leave when they hear very faint calls.
“APPLEBLOOM!” shouted Applejack.
“Applejack?” asked Applebloom, looking a bit confused as to why her sister is in the forest.
Suddenly, the 4 ponies burst through the bushes.
“Applebloom!” said Applejack.
The CMC knew that they were in hot water.
“Um.... Hey sis.” replied Applebloom, now sweating profusely.
“Oh... hey Rainbow Dash.” said Scootaloo, looking as bad as Applebloom.
“Hey Rarity.” said Sweetie Belle, keeping a calm demeanor.
“Applebloom you are in so much trouble.” said Applejack.
“Wait a minute...” said Excalibur, looking behind the CMC. “What are those?”
“Um...” replied the CMC, now all sweating profusely.
“They have Pokemon!” shouted Rainbow Dash.
“Get away from them!” shouted Rarity.
“No wait!” shouted the CMC. “They are nice!”
“How?” replied Excalibur.
“Just look!” replied the CMC, moving out of the way. “They won't harm us!”
“Glameow.” purred the Glameow, rubbing up against Rarity.
“Dunsparce.” said the Dunsparce, hopping over to Applejack.
“Rufflet!” shouted the Rufflet, flying over to Rainbow Dash.
“I suppose they are nice.” said Rarity, now petting the Glameow.
“Well Ah still don't trust them!” replied Applejack.
“But look at how adorable they are!” said Excalibur.
“That's probably the first time I've heard you say that.” replied Rainbow Dash, looking over at Excalibur in shock.
“Fine.” said Applejack. “But if anything happens to Applebloom, I'll have you kicked out.”
“Lets go home!” replied Excalibur.
Applejack was constantly looking back and forth at the Pokemon. She was a fan of the idea of letting a creature that had destroyed part of the town into her family's barn.
“Applejack, quit being so worried, they aren't going to harm us.” said Rarity.
“Ah still don't trust them.” replied Applejack. “But if Applebloom wants one, I'll let her have it.”
“CUTIE MARK CRUSADER POKEMON TRAINERS!!” shouted the CMC.
They all walked off into the sunset, some more suspicious than others. The CMC have made some new friends! Find out what happens next time on The New Friends!
You may think of today as any normal day in Equestria. The birds are chirping, and the sun is up high
in the sky. Excalibur is just doing his daily routine, Venom is in his lab, Dusk is reading. The Beedrills
are buzzing. All is peaceful.
“What's with today?” said Excalibur. “Nothing exciting is happening!” He was busy walking to his
local store to get food for him and his pet crow, Darkness. Darkness was pretty much his best friend, or
“someone” he could talk to.
“I would've thought the street would be bustling with Pokemon, but I guess they are calm today.”
Excalibur was use to Ponyville being quiet and peaceful, but it was just too quiet. He needed to clear
his head, so he went to talk to Dusk and see what she was doing.
“Hey Dusk.” said Excalibur in his most polite voice.
“Hey Excalibur.” said Dusk, without taking her eyes off of the book.
“Um so what are you doing?” asked Excalibur.
“Reading.” said Dusk.
“Well I guess I'll leave you to your business.” said Excalibur, already turning around to leave. He was
already bored enough and sometimes trying to have a decent conversation with Dusk was just
annoying.
“Oh! Before you go, I have something to show you!” said Dusk. She finally looked up from her book.
She moved the book to the side and there was a Pokemon jumping up and down in her lap.
“Dusk why do you have one of those?” said Excalibur. He was a little shocked considering that he,
Dusk, and Venom promised to never get a Pokemon.
“Azurill!” said the bouncing Pokemon.
“Isn't she just so cute?” said Dusk. She picked up the Pokemon and started throwing it in the air.
“Yeah... she's so adorable.” said Excalibur. He wanted nothing to do with Pokemon. They had no
business being in Equestria. He didn't hate them it's just that he REALLY doesn't like chasing off an
Ursaring from his property everyday.
“Well have fun I guess.” said Excalibur. He walked off. He really disliked that his own friend broke the
promise and got a Pokemon. He decided to see what Venom was up to in his lab.
“Venom would never break a promise right?” said Excalibur. He looks through the window. He sees
Venom sitting at his workbench with you guessed it a Pokemon. Excalibur facehoofed himself because
of his friends.
“Magneton can you pass me the brew?” said Venom.
“MAGNETON!” said the Pokemon with a loud cry. It opened up one of the hundreds of desks there
and got the brew for Venom. Excalibur was very surprised at this outcome. Just yesterday they were
duking it out with the Pokemon raging in the town, and now they are treating them like they are their
own kind.
“I don't get what's so great about Pokemon.” said Excalibur.
“All they are is another species taking up space.” said Excalibur. He walks out onto a cliff and sits
there thinking about why Pokemon are so important. Suddenly, a Pokemon appears from behind a rock.
“Cacnea?” it says. The Pokemon goes up to Excalibur and sits next to him.
“Um... Hi.” said Excalibur. This was strange. This was the only Pokemon he saw that liked him and ever walked up to him.
“Cacnea!” said the Pokemon. He ran up on Excalibur's head and sat down. Excalibur was surprised,
this was the first Pokemon he actually didn't mind.
“Hey... Well I guess you can stay up there.” said Excalibur. Moonfall beheld Ponyville and everypony
went to sleep with their Pokemon, including Excalibur. Little did he know that Cacnea wasn't there just
for one night with him. It was there for every.
