Alexander White Coat
Chapter 4 (New Lands)
Previous ChapterAlexander walked out from his room, going to his boat home. 'Such a long time away, it'll be good to go home' Alexander thought to himself. He walked to the deck and looked out to the land across the sea. The boat pushed off and the sails were unfurled, home was his destination.
"You've been here for a while, what makes you go back now?" Asked a pony from the land he'd just set sail from.
"My own country needs me, across the sea is a beautiful land which I have the privilege of ruling. I also have a beautiful wife at home as well" Alexander replied.
"A ruler, of an entire land no less! And you're wearing a simple turban, gown, and no shoes?" Replied the foreigner.
"I was never one to be high and mighty; this garb is fine for me." Alexander said, straightening his turban a bit.
"Where did you get that weapon? It seems extremely outlandish, even for here" The foreigner replied.
"That is a lengthy story, one I will not utter here. All you need to know is it is very sharp" Alexander said laughing. They soon pulled into the port at Canterlot and Alexander was the first one off. He walked slowly, taking in every aspect of his home. He soon came to the castle doors and was greeted by his son.
"Father! You're home!" Alexander II said, slamming himself into his father's knees. Alexander laughed as he was knocked to the ground.
"What is this? You must have grown a mountain's height in my absence! Here, a present that I picked up while I was away" Alexander replied, taking out a small box and setting it on the floor. Alexander II looked at it, analyzing its every inch; he soon discovered the lid and flipped open. Inside was a small blue sapphire. Alexander II looked at it and flipped it around; on the other side was emerald. He then looked to his father and smiled.
"Thank you father" he said, soon he turned around and saw his mother in the corridor.
"Mother! Father is home, and he brought presents!" Alexander II said, looking towards his mother. Luna walked out and smiled at her husband and then her son.
"Yes, it seems he did! That's a nice present he got for you" Luna replied, walking towards them.
Lots of questions hanging in this chapter, all will be answered in Alexander 5! (at least most of them)
"I have something for you as well" Alexander said, taking out another box and handing it to his wife.
"Thank you ever so much darling" Luna said, opening the box. She removed an ivory crescent moon, which hung on a chain of platinum.
"It's beautiful…so beautiful" Luna replied, near tears.
"It changes with the phases of the moon, some magic I learned while I was in Constantinople" Alexander said.
"So I take it that is where we shall be going?" Luna said
"Yes, it's a peaceful enough land, and you and I both know it's getting dull here" Alexander replied.
"I know, but still, I will remember this place for all my days, too bad it won't be our palace anymore. Oh! You never told me, who will take over?" Luna said, concernedly.
"Timpony and Applejack will, I've been ruler for a very long time, he shall take my place" Alexander replied. Luna was relieved and looked back at the castle wistfully.
"Come now, new lands wait" Alexander said, they all started to walk back towards the boat, Alexander, Luna, and his son. And they made their journey, back to Constantinople. Alexander looked over the open sea as the great lands of Constantinople appeared over the horizon.
"We shall be there in about an hour" Alexander said happily. Luna smiled as well.
"I hope it's as good you have told in all your stories" Luna said playfully.
"It surely is, it may be even more so to you" Alexander replied laughing.
Another pony came up to him and looked him over.
"Your attire is Persian, but your accent is not, from where do you come friend?" Asked this new pony.
"You are correct, I hail from equestria, the land across the sea" Alexander replied.
"Ah, but that is not your country of origin, I can tell" said the new pony.
"You are correct, I am from Harmany. Might I ask of your name sir?"Alexander said eager to know this new pony.
"My name is Suleypony" Replied Suleypony
"Very nice to meet you" Alexander said.
"Likewise, now, I can guess as well that you were some monarch where you came from, a warlord perhaps?" Asked Suleypony
"A monarch yes, and yes I had my fair share of wars but I do not enjoy them as a warlord may. Bloodshed is nothing to celebrate. I served my people well, I was tolerant of all people, and if I have failed in my duty to that country, then die I shall" Alexander replied. Suleypony smiled.
"That is the attitude of a very good ruler, and this was all told to me from your clothes, your voice, and that weapon upon your back" Suleypony said.
"Really? Well, you must be some sort of scholar then" Alexander said
"I try" Replied Suleypony simply
Alexander looked over to the shore and saw they were pulling in. Alexander was very surprised 'what, did we hit a wind gust or something?' he thought to himself. As they pulled in and things were being taken off the ship, Suleypony helped Luna with some boxes.
"A scholar and a gentlecolt, you are full of surprises my friend!" Alexander remarked laughing.
"It is true; perhaps I will see you around the city equestrian! Farewell" Said Suleypony I. Alexander waved goodbye to his newfound friend. He then turned to his wife and helped her with some more things, he then took her hoof and gestured his hoof across the whole city.
"Isn't it just beautiful?" Alexander said
"Yes dear, yes it is, I long to see where we will be staying" Luna said happily.
"Yes father, this city is so very large; it would be good to know where home might be, ha!" Alexander II said laughing.
"It is not too far my son, come, it is very near in fact" Alexander replied, looking at his, now 15 years of age, child. He took his son and wife along with him and took them on a little tour of Constantinople on the way to their house. They soon came to a large villa, complete with Persian and ottoman structures, as well as fine rugs imported from the Safavid Empire. Luna and Alexander II were breathless.
"This is amazing" Luna said, her voice trembling.
"I take it you enjoy it" Alexander replied, smiling.
"I love it darling, this place will certainly be our new home" Luna said, smiling as well.
"I'm glad, I must go get one more thing in order, but you can both get settled" Alexander said, kissing Luna and leaving. He walked to the dock where he had gotten off, but he was stopped by a pony in relatively local clothes.
"Ek habik alak! Are you the one whom I search for, the mentor who has been sending me letters from equestria? Alexander…la la la." Said this seemingly fanatic pony. Alexander frowned and nodded.
"Alexander White Coat" he replied, with a passive aggressive tone.
"My apologies, I never understood that…Harman gibberish" Replied the pony.
"It is the name of my family, the White Coats, in all truth my name is Alexander, but I keep the rest as respect my family" Alexander explained.
"Ah, so in that case, I would be, Sanskrit….asana Hebe?" said Sanskrit with a questioning tone.
"If that is your family's name, then yes" Alexander replied, smiling.
"Yes...I like that, ha ha ha!" Said Sanskrit, laughing in delight at his newfound name.
"I'm glad you enjoy it, regrettably, I must go, I have something to attend to, my wife awaits me at home, and I have something which I must do" Alexander replied.
"Say no more, go, do what you must, we will be in touch?" Sanskrit asked.
"Yes, of course" Alexander said, taking leave from his friend. He walked towards the shore, and saw his Timpony standing there.
"So you decided to come did you? I had thought you and Applejack would have enjoyed the throne?" Alexander asked jokingly. Timpony turned around joyously and hugged his friend.
"Ah, my friend! Alexander! It is good to see you! Applejack and I have not seen you for years! You did not even inform us you were going to stay here! Had I not seen you out the castle window whence you left, I would have never been any wiser to where you would be!" Timpony said, Hugging his friend, and shaking him about.
"I am glad to you see you as well Timpony, I regret not being able to tell you. I was going to send letters soon, perhaps I should have told you. Anyway, where is your wife?" Alexander inquired.
"She has yet to come off the boat, but she will be along soon…alas, I lie! Here comes my beauty now!" Timpony said, walking past Alexander and embracing his wife. Applejack looked over Timpony's shoulders and saw the back of Alexander's head; he then turned around and smiled. As Timpony let go of her, she raced to embrace Alexander.
"Oh you old fool! Why didn't you tell us you were leaving?" Applejack asked.
"I'm sorry, I was going to tell you" Alexander started to answer.
"Never mind that, you must meet our daughter!" Applejack said, interrupting Alexander's answer. Alexander looked towards the ship, where a small filly walked towards its mother. A mixture of its father and mother, in a single baby filly. She pulled on her mother's leg, who then quickly scooped up the foal and held her close.
"Robin, this is your Uncle Alexander" Said Applejack, Robin looked towards Alexander and smiled, but seemed shy. She was a mixture of her father's green and her mother's orange, with wings that showed her to be around 9 years of age.
"Is this the pony you told all of those stories about mama?" Asked Robin.
"Yes love, yes it is" Applejack said happily. Robin looked in amazement at Alexander, who smiled warmly at the foal in her mother's arms. He ruffled the little foal's hair, and then turned to its mother and father.
"I'm sorry to go so quickly, but there is something I must do. Please, Luna must want to speak to you both" Alexander said, embracing the two of his friends, and then leaving. He walked along an alleyway and soon was greeted with the sight he had been having premonitions of. He remembered the dreams, somepony, another ruler, taking innocent ponies and torturing them, simply for himself. Alexander looked over to a pony in regal robes, walking down the street. He saw his intent, and it was not good at all. The pony kicked another one begging on the ground, Alexander walked menacingly towards him, as he kicked the pony again. Alexander whipped the scythe off of his back, ripped it in two so as to have one in each hand, and buried them in the guards on each of his sides. He ripped them out and kicked them both over.
"NOW YOU! THIS IS NOT HOW A KINGDOM IS RULED! YOU TORTURE YOUR PEOPLE, AND THEY CAN DO NOTHING" Alexander pulled both of his scythes back, melded them back together and went to slam it into the pony that had been hurting the beggar. But he was stopped, by some invisible force. Alexander slowly walked backwards.
"What are you?" He asked
"Me? I am the true ruler of this land, a tyrant you might say. Suleypony took what was truly mine. I see you are strong, but none but the gods can kill me, for I am unable to die" said the pony, smiling a demented smile.
"Neither can I, but know this, as long as I live, I will not stop looking for a way to kill you" Alexander said. He then turned around and walked away.
"Is this true? I defy you! Bring what you will, no pony can kill me!" Said the pony in the regal robes. Alexander ran back to his own house and closed the door behind him, he was out of breath, and quickly sat down.
"What has happened to you dearest? For the love of me, Speak!" Luna said, very concerned about Alexander.
"There…there is a pony here….that says he is the true one to rule…but he is a tyrant...He seeks to destroy the ponies under his protection...Not help them….he must be stopped, but he cannot die...and I don't know how to kill him..But he must die…for there to be peace in Constantinople again" Alexander said. Luna was very concerned, more so with Alexander, than what he had been explaining. Suddenly an idea struck her.
"I was reading a legend of old, which is often told here. Perhaps it might help. It is said that a king would come to ravage the people, and in these desperate times, a pony would gather the power of the gods at each of their temples, and become a god themselves!" Luna said. Alexander looked up slowly at his wife and smiled.
"My wife and my savior, this legend, does it speak of where the temples are?" Alexander asked. Luna thought for a moment then ran to get a book and opened it on the table in front of Alexander. She looked through it like scholar reading ancient texts.
"Yes, but it's extremely vague. There is one in every compass direction, the north, the south, the west, and the east" Luna said, seeming disappointed. Alexander's eyes went wide then he started to speak rapidly.
"There is a temple in my home country of Harmany, it was built in honor of the god of the north, which must be it" Alexander said, happily clapping at his triumph.
"Yes, you're not going to go alone, do not think that for a second. I'm going with you" Luna replied, seeming extremely intent.
"Dearest…I know what happens when you get like this…..I still have the scar, alright, you will come with me, but Alexander II must stay here. Of that there is no doubt" Alexander replied, remembering the last time he denied his wife. She was his love, that is true, but he respected her word as well, especially after the incident.
"Yes, he will have to stay with Applejack and Timpony, come, and let us be on our way" Luna said. She walked over and picked up her son, explaining to him that his mother and father were going to be gone for a while. Alexander II seemed to be fine with it, and was happy to spend the time with his aunt and uncle as well as his new cousin. They brought him over to Timpony's home and explained to him what they were going to be doing.
"How long do you believe you will be gone?" Timpony asked Alexander
"We have no idea, within the month though" Alexander replied.
"Go with speed my friend, and be careful" Timpony said cautiously
"Yes my friend, I will" Alexander said. He left the house and headed to the docks, along with his wife. Alexander told the boatman where he was going and they set off. Luna stepped behind him and put her hooves around him.
"Though this may not be the most romantic journey we've ever been on, I look forward to seeing your home" Luna said. Alexander held onto her hooves and slowly stroked her hair as her head twisted around his neck a bit.
"It is a beautiful land, I'm sure you will enjoy it" Alexander said.
"But it's quite cold, you'll have to stay close, so as not to get too cold" Alexander said jokingly picking up Luan and twirling her around a bit. They looked forward as he stopped and beheld a land appearing on the horizon.
"That is my home, my land, it is where I came from" Alexander said looking at the familiar snow topped peaks of the mountains. The rolling greens of Harmany's land spread farther than his eyes could see.
"I've never seen a land like this, I never really traveled outside of Canterlot, this is the first time I've ever even seen the Nordic region of Equestria" Luna replied.
"It really is a nice place, come, we going to dock" Alexander said, as the boat pulled into a harbor and was tied into it. Alex departed from the boat, followed by his wife, and they both walked off of the dock and into the nearby town. They walked until they neared a tavern and Alex entered. He walked up to the barkeep and Luna watched as they spoke together in the language of the land. Alexander walked back to Luna but passed as if she were not there. She became extremely concerned and followed him outside. He walked two steps but threw away his scythe which landed a few feet from him and collapsed on the ground. Luna ran right next to him and tried to pick him up but he remained on the ground.
"What's happened? What is going on?!" Luna yelled at him.
"My father…he died….I…I was supposed to get the letter today I guess" Alexander replied. Luna was taken aback, then held Alexander close.
"Come, isn't the wake today? I believe that is your custom" Luna asked.
"Yes, that is true, my village is not a mile from here, let us go" Alexander said getting up and moving towards the sign that said 'Skyhilm' and pointed down a path. He started to question his choice to keep immortality only for him and his family, perhaps he could have kept his father alive. As he fell deeper into his thoughts he came to the village faster then he realized. He immediately recognized his house which was now freshly painted black, as was the custom of a death. He walked towards his house and knocked on the door. His mother looked through the window and saw her son, then hurriedly opened the door. His mother fell into him and held him tight.
"Oh Alexander! Your father…he….he told me you would come here, he was right!" Alexander's mother said, tightening her grip round him.
"Mother…I'm so sorry…I…I should have been here" Alexander replied, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Nonsense, you were about, there was nothing you could have done, come inside, please, and bring your…….oh sweet white coats of old, who have you brought with you! Is that who I think!?" His mother said, now looking in Luna's direction.
"Ah yes, mother, I had meant to make a trip down here soon to formally tell you, but I guess this must suffice. Mother, this is my wife, Princess Luna" Alexander replied. His mother blinked a bit, looking at Luna, then back to Alexander, soon her eyes went wide.
"I heard bits and pieces of what happened in Canterlot, there was a new king, Celestia had betrayed her people, and the new king had killed her, buried her underneath the castle and rebuilt it above her body. But…but I thought this was all legend! Was….was….was that you?" Alexander's mother asked.
"yes mother, I am the king of equestria, the one who brought celestia to justice, come let us go inside, I will explain more" Alexander said. His mother moved into the living room and sat down, Alexander did as well, and his wife sat next to him. He proceeded to explain all that had transpired, the killing of celestia, and also all that had happened since.
"Yes but that does not explain, why are you here, now?" Alexander's mother asked.
"There is a king, in Constantinople; the only way to stop him is to take something from the temples of each of the gods. I really don't even know what, but I know there was a temple built to the god of the north here, so this is where I came" Alexander replied. Alexander's mother had tears well up in her eyes.
"My son, has become the king of an empire, and is the greatest ruler in its history! I'm so proud of you!" Alexander's mother yelled, grabbing onto her son. Alexander smiled, and then looked at his mother.
"I must be going on my way, I will be back mother, I promise" Alexander said, letting go of his mother. She waved to him as he went out the door, followed by his wife. HE turned back to his house slightly, and whispered to himself.
"I will be back, father" Alexander said to himself, then walking away. Luna walked with him, and looked around the scenery of the path that they walked along.
"Exactly where is this temple?" Luna asked.
"Not a mile ahead, this path was built for pilgrims going to the temple" Alexander replied. Luna nodded then looked forward. She saw the spires of the temple appear over the hill. Snow kissed the roofs and its tops were engulfed in ice. Alexander looked at it and knelt down, bowed his head for a moment, then stood up once again. Luna looked quizzically at him.
"Sorry, tradition is when you approach the temple one is to bow before the god of the north" Alexander said, explaining his actions. Luna complied and bowed as well, then moving on. Alexander took hold of the giant door that held the temple shut.
"VIN KAH, MOR DO GAH, SHIM LAK MAR NAD!" Alexander shouted at the doors, they started to glow a dark purple, then a blue, and finally white. Then the doors slammed open, and Alexander looked inside, the high throne stood in the center, the monks of the temple long dead. A large voice boomed through the temple.
"I AM NORDIN, THE GOD OF THE NORTH, I KNOW WHAT YOU SEEK, BUT YOU MUST FIRST PASS THE TEST" Said a seemingly source less voice. But soon an extremely large figure dropped from the ceiling and the ground thundered as it hit the floor of the temple.
"YOU MUST FIGHT ME! ONLY THEN ARE YOU FOUND WORTHY!" Yelled Nordin, glowing white with the snow of the mountains, his skin pure ice.
"I have heard the legends of your dealings with the Nordic ponies, it will be an honor to fight you" Alexander said, Nordin nodded and pulled out a large hammer. Alexander jumped forward and slammed his scythe into the handle of the hammer as it slammed down. He was pulled down but used the momentum to fly himself under the god's legs. Alexander pulled the scythe behind him to the point where he could not see it. He ripped it in front of him, cutting the cold wind itself, and slamming the scythe into Nordin's leg and ripping him down. Alexander jumped upon Nordin's chest, which blistered like the mountaintops of snow. He slammed the scythe far into his chest, then pulling it towards himself. Nordin smiled and looked at Alexander.
"YOU HAVE PROVED YOURSELF WORTHY! I GIVE YOU THE RIGHT OF ONE WHO HAS CONQUERED MY TEMPLE, YOU SHALL HAVE MY POWER! ONLY WHEN ONE HAS COLLECTED THE POWER FROM ALL OF THE GODS, CAN YOU BECOME AS WE ARE! YOU'RE NEXT DESTINATION, IS THE WESTERN TEMPLE, VENTURE TO WESTMINSTER, THERE YOU WILL FIND A TEMPLE, BUILT TO THE GOD OF THE WEST" Nordin said, then bowing to Alexander and transferring a fraction of his power to him. Alexander felt the power course through his body, his blood began to glow and he was raised in the air. His whole body shook with power, until he finally stood on the ground again.
He bowed to Nordin and turned back to his wife. Luna had an expression which was a mix of surprise, relief, anger, and happiness. She walked slowly towards him, slapped him across the face, and hugged him tightly. Then her tears began to fall upon his shoulders.
"Promise me, promise me you will never scare me like that again" Luna said. Alexander remained silent, but stroked her mane and held her tight.
"You know I cannot promise that" Alexander replied. Luna consented and let go of him, but holding onto his hoof. They walked out from the temple, and walked down the ice ridden path down back to the villages. As they walked a large piece of ice started to fall and was impending to hit them both. Alexander, with his newfound power, held the ice in midair. The ice began to crack, and soon it blew apart.
"How did you do that?" Luna asked.
"Must have been Nordin's parting gift" Alexander replied.
"Well, that should definitely come in handy here in Harmany. To Westminster now?" Luna asked, holding put her hoof.
"To Westminster" Alexander replied. They both began to slowly dissipate and soon disappeared altogether. They reappeared in the streets off of Troddingham Castle.
Meanwhile back at the villa in Constantinople
"Come on uncle Timpony, let us go have a picnic" Alexander II pleaded to his uncle.
"Alright, Alright, but be careful, this is a new land after all" Timpony replied, consenting to his nephew's pleading. Alexander II jumped with joy. He walked over next to a hoofchair where he grabbed a basket, loosely lined with a red and white checkered table cloth. Robin walked to the door and waited for Alexander II. He walked towards it and they both left together. They walked down a path that stretched to an aromatic garden. Alexander took the table cloth off of the basket and draped it across the ground. He then set out the plates for him and Robin, put out the food, and finally sat down. Robin sat rather close to him, which, at his age would creep out most colts, he seemed content. They talked and talked, sometimes of childish things (likeable to 15 and 16 year old ponies), sometimes of their parents, and a little about each other.
"So you're the son of the king of equestria, most likely have his power as well, and you're quite as a mouse, what gives?" Robin asked of Alexander II.
"I just don't talk a lot, I don't know, I also get a bit nervous around...never mind" Alexander II replied, obviously nervous.
"Well, there's no reason to be nervous around me, our parents are friends after all" Robin replied, trying to make Alexander II a bit less nervous.
"True, well, what about you? Your mother and father are nobles, what do you do?" Alexander II asked.
"I cling to my mother mostly, other ponies scare me a bit, except you of course" Robin replied. Alexander II blushed a bit, but loosened up as well. They talked a bit more until they both fell asleep. Robin slept, her head lying on Alexander II's shoulders while Alexander's head, lay on hers.
Robin woke up the following morning, but her head did not lie on Alexander II's shoulder, but now on the ground. She looked around and saw him being carried away by very large ponies. She stealthily stood up and quietly began to follow them. They walked for quite a ways until finally arriving at catacombs near the castle. As she peered down the hall of the catacombs where Alexander II was being dropped, she felt a force hit her head, then dark.
Back at Westminster
Alexander and Luna walked along the sidewalk, talking to each other as they walked along. Soon coming to Westminster Abbey, the pair walked inside and looked around.
"Now, according to what I've read, this was once a temple to the god of the west. There is supposed to be a test, but where?" Alexander said, looking all over the building.
"There's something here, it's something written on the wall" Luna said, beckoning Alexander over to her. He walked to see what was written on the wall. A message was left by the god of the west herself.
"A riddle it seems" Alexander said, looking at the wall. The wall read, those who here doth tread, read here unless thou hath read, for you must answer this riddle to pass, without any help from yonder lass. Alexander was surprised that the gods of old knew that he would have his wife with him. The riddle was what pony loves more than life, Fears more than death or mortal strife. What poor ponies have, the rich acquire, and all contended ponies desire. What Misers spend and the Wastrels save, and each pony carries to his grave. Alexander thought long and hard about the answer. Suddenly, it dawned on him, "Nothing." The part of the wall that the riddle was written on began to blow. Within seconds, a door magically appeared and opened slowly.
Alexander walked inside and his wife walked with him as well. A voice whispered to Alexander, You have passed my test, come, walk further, the voice said. He walked until he saw another high throne, there sat the goddess of the west. Alexander bowed and then stood.
"
My name is westfalia; you have passed my test, and thus, have earned what I due. Take what power I can spare" westfalia let her power be released and Alexander absorbed it, his body rigored as it had before, only now his blood glowed blue, not white as it had before. It soon started to die down and his skin regained its original white.
"Your next test, it resides in the south, in the great sand deserts, lays a temple, built to Sud, the god of the south" Westphalia said to Alexander. He bowed silently to her, and turned to leave. He looked at Luna and smiled.
"Well, I've had to fight a god, solve a riddle of a god, who knows what's up next?" Alexander said, chuckling as they left. Luna smiled as well and shook her head, my husband, the one pony who can talk to the gods and come away laughing, Luna thought
to herself. They walked outside and it began to rain, they both took their leave rather quickly, as they dissipated into thin air.
Meanwhile Back With Alexander II and Robin
Alexander Woke up, groggily trying to sort out his surroundings. He looked around, trying to figure out where he was. OK, I'm in some kind of confined space, a cage maybe, and…what the hell? Alexander thought to himself, he had bumped into something, and it was not the confines in which he sat. It felt familiar, he reached down and shook whatever it was. He heard a groan in a familiar voice, soon the groan formed into words.
"Wha, Where am I? Where's Alex?" Robin said, trying to look around. Alexander cast a light spell so as to see. Robin covered her eyes at first, but they adjusted to the light and she looked at Alexander.
"Oh thank goodness, you're alright!" Robin said, grabbing onto him. Alexander II fell over as she tackled him.
"I'm glad you're alright too, we're in a box of some kind, I have no idea what it is" Alexander II replied.
"Well, I guess all we can do is wait, maybe this is just a misunderstanding" Robin replied. Alexander II agreed, but silently he
knew, that that was not the case. They both sat and waited, talking to each other.
"I just want you to know, if we don't make it out of this…" But before Alexander II could continue his sentence, he was abruptly interrupted when whatever it was they were being kept in was opened. Robin and Alexander were promptly snatched up and carried. They were walked to a guillotine, where the king of Constantinople stood.
"Your father is causing me problems little one, I think it is time I sorted him out" Said the king, raising the guillotine.
"So now, I think I will make his friends pay first" The king said, beckoning the one holding the two ponies to give Robin to him. As the Exchange was made, Alexander II felt power rush through him, and all he saw was red.
Back with Alexander and Luna
Alexander and Luna appeared in the middle of a seemingly desolate desert. Sand wafted from the ground as the wind kicked it up. Alexander took a veil and put it on his wife.
"It will keep the sand out of your eyes" Alexander said, as he adjusted it so Luna could see well. Luna smiled behind the veil and thanked her husband. Alexander also put on a turban that wrapped around his face so sand could not get in his eyes either. The pair began to walk to the southern part of the desert. They both walked for a good hour. As they kept walking, a large temple began to materialize over the horizon.
"We're almost there!" Luna said, rejoicing in what she saw. Alexander scanned the image over the horizon to make sure it was not a mirage. He concluded that it was not, and he and his wife ran towards it. They neared the doors and they took shelter from the sands behind the walls that surrounded the doors. Alexander began to take off his turban and Luna removed her veil. As they both discarded their veils, Alexander Collapsed, and seemed to kneel. Luan rushed towards him, but he grabbed onto the wall next to him and pulled himself up. He looked towards the northeast. A large wave of raw power rolled towards them.
"GET BEHIND A WALL!" Alexander yelled, tackling Luna and bringing her behind a wall. A large amount of sand was kicked towards them but they were safe behind the wall. As the power died down, Alexander walked out and looked to where it had come from. His eyes became white and he was able to see what the source of power was.
"What do you see?" Luna asked. Alexander stood silent for a moment, then had an expression of surprise on his face.
"That was our son. He had been imprisoned, they tried to kill Robin. His power is remarkable" Alexander said.
"Our son?! My child did that?!" Luna yelled back. Alexander nodded.
"We must get back there, come, we must get through the remaining temples as fast as possible!" Alexander said, kicking open the doors of the temple and rushing in. Luna rushed in behind him. Sud immediately showed himself and explained his presence.
"YOUR SITUATION GROWS DIRE, I SEE IT, THERE IS NO TEST HERE, THE FIRST TWO TEMPLES ARE MEANT TO TEST YOU, THE NEXT ARE ONLY TO CONVEY YOUR APOTHEOSIS. MY POWER IS NOW YOURS, GO TO THE EAST AND TAKE YOUR FINAL STEP" Sud said to Alexander, relinquishing much of his power to him. Alexander was raised into the air and his blood glowed a golden color, that of the sand. Sud bowed to Alexander and Alexander did the same. He turned back and made his way out of the temple, Along with his wife. They teleported immediately to the east, now racing against time to get back to Constantinople.
1 hour earlier- Alexander II and Robin
Alexander II's body rigored with power as his body became engulfed in flames. His eyes were an enflamed white, and he grew flaming wings. He looked at the two guards holding Robin and jumped towards them. He pulled Robin from their hands and kicked one of them into a wall, the other; he held in his hooves then threw into the same guard in the wall. He then looked at the king.
"You can't kill me!" Yelled the king in defiance
"NO? MAYBE NOT, BUT I CAN CERTAINLY TRY!" Alexander II yelled back. He jumped towards the king, bending himself to avoid his arms and landing a strike that's sent him through a wall and flying out into the city. He then fell to the ground and ran back to his castle. Alexander II began to calm down and looked at Robin.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm fine, but we need to get out of here" Robin replied. Alexander II agreed and sprouted his flaming wings again. The pair jumped through the hole that Alexander II had created by kicking the king out from the catacombs and they flew back on their way home. Robin Kissed Alexander II as thanks for saving her, he smiled in turn and kept flying towards their home.
Current time- Alexander and Luna
Alexander and Luna appeared in front of a large building, with large E and an arrow on it. It had very old architecture and was nestled deep in the eastern mountains.
"This is as far as the eastern compass direction is able to go" Alexander said.
"Let us go inside, so we can see what waits" Luna replied. Alexander agreed and walked inside followed by Luna. He was greeted by a hooded by pony, who bowed to him.
"I know why you are here, come, your test waits. Your wife must stay here" Said the pony. Alexander turned to Luna, but she nodded and said for him to go.
"You must pass the final test, go, I will be here" Luna said. Alexander walked to her and held her close. He kissed her and finally let go, moving with the hooded pony. As they moved along, Alexander noticed many doors alongside them.
"What is this place?" Alexander asked.
"This is the temple of the east; the rooms that line this hall are for all of the monks that still remain here" Replied the hooded pony.
"I take it you are one" Alexander said.
"Yes" replied the monk simply. Before Alexander could reply they came to an extremely large door. The monk labored to open it, but soon it was wide open.
"You must withstand the voices of all the gods, only then will your apotheosis be made whole" Said the monk, beckoning Alexander to go inside. He nodded and walked inside, and the monk closed the door behind him. As the door closed, every one of the gods appeared before him. But only the god of the east spoke first.
"We are to administer your final test, and only then are you ready to become god among pony" Said the god of the east.
"I am ready" Alexander replied simply. The god of the east nodded, and then gestured to the other gods. They then all began to yell their message.
"YOU ARE US, WE ARE YOU. YOU ARE TO BECOME A GOD; WE ARE TO GIVE YOU THAT POWER. WITH THIS POWER, DESTROY THE KING THAT TORTURES HIS PEOPLE. VILE, VILE, VILE KING, NOW TO BE SLAIN BY GOD! BURN, FREEZE, DROWN, POUND HIM, THEN ONLY CAN HE DIE! WE, THE GODS HAVE SPOKEN!" Yelled the goods in synchronization. As they finished Alexander regained his composure, and remained unscathed. All of the gods looked at him in surprise. Then the god of the north bowed, thus the other gods followed.
"You have brought honor and pride to your people. our power now goes to you" Said the god of the north. Every one of the gods began to disintegrate, and the powder that they left was then transferred to Alexander. The power of all of the gods transferred to him, yet he remained still, while his body glowed of raw power. He looked to the sky and yelled out. His voice became raw power and shook the foundation of the temple. He then turned back and yelled at the door to open, which it did extremely quickly. He ran down the hall, then coming back out to where his wife stood. She looked at him in surprise.
"No time to explain, all I know is I'm a god now, we must get back to Constantinople!" Alexander said, taking hold of his wife, and holding her as he leapt out of the temple entrance and flying towards Constantinople.
Arrival in Constantinople
Alexander flew down to Timpony and Applejack's villa and walked through the door, letting Luna down. Timpony and Applejack looked at him in fear as they realized what may happen due to them losing his son.
"I know what has happened, my son is flying back right now, do not worry" Alexander said, he then turned to Luna.
"You must stay here, you've been with me thus far, but I must go now, I will be back, I promise you" He said to her.
"Where are you going?" Luna asked, now distressed.
"When Celestia came back, she put all of her enemies in a place called the abyss. I am going to go there and see if I can acquire an army" Alexander replied. Luna grasped onto Alexander and held him tightly.
"Do come back quickly" She said simply, then letting him go. Alexander nodded, then turning back towards the door and flying off on his newly sprouted white wings. He flew towards the northeast, off the shores of Equestria. Once arriving there he looked around for the island which he was searching for. Soon, he located it and flew down, arriving at the mouth of a cave. The barriers that once protected the islands had since died out, due to its caster now being dead. Alexander entered the cave and began to walk into the bowels of it. Soon he located the first prison cell.
"is anyone in there?" Alexander asked, his scythe now held in his hand, ready for a swing.
"Yes, it's me, princess Cadence!" Yelled a voice back, walking from the darkness.
"How am I to know you are not queen chrysalis, and a fake" Alexander replied.
"Because, this is queen chrysalis" Replied Cadence, beckoning for another figure to come near her. Queen Chrysalis walked out from behind the darkness as well, and saw Alexander standing behind the magical cell door.
"Outside being! Release us, I beseech you! The princess and I have been here ever since Celestia imprisoned us, please helping us" Chrysalis yelled from behind the transparent cell door.
"I can only do that if you promise to help me fight. In Constantinople, a king masses his army against me, I need your help" Alexander replied
"Of course!" said Queen Chrysalis. Alexander's horn glowed and the door was destroyed, Princess Cadence and Queen Chrysalis walked out and both of them thanked Alexander.
"I understand why you were imprisoned Chrysalis, but why were you imprisoned Cadence?" Alexander asked.
"When Celestia came back, I sought to leave the castle and find Luna with my husband……When we tried to leave…Celestia….k-k-killed Shining Armor, then took me here!" Cadence replied, crying as she relayed the tail
"Go, go to Constantinople, Luna will be there, stay with her, I will bring your husband back" Alexander said, putting his hoof on her shoulder.
"How?" Cadence replied, looking almost angrily at Alexander.
"You don't know my power, now go" Alexander said. Cadence went to walk out of the cave, then Alexander called Chrysalis to him.
"I know what happened to you, I understand you love shining armor, but she does love him, I cannot take him from her to give him to you. I am sorry" Alexander said.
"I….I understand….I will learn to love again someday…." Chrysalis replied. She seemed to cry, but no tears were shone. She then left as well, thus Alexander made his way farther down the cave. He kept a steady pace until finally stopping at an extremely large cell, which had one next to it that was much smaller. Alexander looked to the smaller cell and pried it open.
"Who is here?" He inquired, looking around.
"Who are you might I ask?" Replied a voice from inside.
"Alexander White Coat" Alexander replied. The voice gasped and suddenly, discord showed himself.
"Is it really you? Oh joyous day, you will free me won't you?!" Discord said, jumping in front of Alexander.
"Of course, but I need your help, back in Constantinople, a force rises to fight me, you must help me" Alexander replied.
"Of course, I would repay you in any way, if this is all I must do, then well!" Discord said, then flying out of the cave. Alexander looked towards the large cell and looked curiously into it. He then pried it open and walked inside. Whipping out his scythe, he looked around.
"Who dwells here?" Alexander said, looking around. He saw, crumpled in the corner, a white figure with flowing hair.
"It can't be….Princess?" Alexander said, looking in disbelief. Princess Celestia slowly got up And looked at Alexander. She looked extremely weak and nearly collapsed as she stood up.
"Who…Who are you?" The princess asked, looking confusedly at Alexander.
"You have no idea what's happened do you? Come, you're free," Alexander replied.
"I…I can't walk…this place…it drains my power…you must get me out of here" The princess said staggering to get her balance. Alexander walked over and draped her over his back. He ran at full speed out of the cave until finally seeing sunlight again.
"It will be long for me to regain my power, where are we to go?" Princess Celestia asked.
"Constantinople" Alexander replied, sprouting his wings once again and flying off. Celestia sat quietly on his back as he flew at top speed towards the city of Constantinople. Soon it appeared over the horizon and he began to turn down, soon landing in the city.
"Your sister is at a villa here, she will explain everything to you, I will take you there" Alexander said. They walked along the streets, her power had come back now to the point that she could walk. He knocked on the door of the villa and it was opened. Luna looked in shock at her husband and her sister.
"I have no time to explain, so I will let your sister, I must go, but I will be back, I promise" Alexander said, then sprouting flaming wings and flying towards the castle. Luna looked confusedly at Princess Celestia then towards Alexander as he flew away. She couldn't help but laugh, and bring her sister inside.
Alexander arrived at the castle and slammed through the door. The king stood, looking directly at Alexander as pieces of the stone door flew past him. Alexander smiled an almost maniacal smile.
"You take my son, torture your people, and persecute me and my wife!? how do you think you're not going to die?" Alexander said, looking furiously at the King.
"Easily" replied the king simply. Alexander flipped out his scythe and ran towards the king. The king tried to block but was pushed out of the way as if he were a fly. The king looked at Alexander in a mix of terror, rage and confusion.
"What…WHAT ARE YOU!?" He yelled, getting up and taking out two scimitars. He jumped at Alexander and sliced rapidly at him. Alexander spun his scythe around, blocking every single blow and soon landing a kick on the king. He was thrown back onto his throne, where h then slid awkwardly down from.
"I tire of humoring you" Alexander said, raising his scythe. He slammed the king into the air with the back of the scythe, and then knocked him back down again. He then stood him back up, and slammed the scythe into him once again, hitting him into a wall. The king fell slowly from the wall and looked up at Alexander in terror.
"UPON THEE STANDS A LOFTY CROWN, WHICH NOW IS RIPPED FROM THY BROW!" Alexander yelled, slamming the razor sharp scythe into the king's chest, flipping the scythe around, and then pulling out through the opposite the king's body. He then slumped down before him and finally, died. Alexander's rage subsided and he regained his original form. He looked out the window and jumped out from it, landing back in Constantinople's streets. He then turned and walked home. As he neared the villa, the two children ran out to meet him. Alexander embraced his child, and Applejack and Timpony ran to catch up to their own. Luna and Celestia walked out from the villa as well. Alexander let go of his son and ran to meet his wife.
"I take it you two…spoke while I was gone?" Alexander said in a questioning tone.
"Yes, yes we did. I thank you immensely for bringing me back to my sister and that much more for eliminating the impostor that once ravaged my land. I would never ask you to relinquish the throne to me after all that you have done and all that has transpired, but I would like to join you. Whatever adventures you may go on, I wish to go along, as sister to your wife and sister in law, to you" Princess Celestia replied. Alexander nodded understandingly and turned to his wife. He embraced her immediately and held her close, then he began to sing softly to her.
