When you die...
Soarin
Previous ChapterSoarin landed in Cloudsdale. It was nice to be back there, but something was missing. That missing thing was certain rainbow maned Pegasus mare. He started to walk back to his home, but on the way there he met Spitfire. She spotted him too and trotted at him.
"Looking at you expression, things aren't really well." Spitfire said quietly, already knowing what has gone wrong.
"You know very well what's wrong." Soarin snapped. That made Spitfire step back a little, but she got over it soon.
"Rainbow...passed away, right?" Spitfire guessed
Soarin nodded slightly and then said:
"Yes she d-did. She even lasted long. Almost 24 hours. With these injures, she would have to d-die in 5 hours or so. She's dead only 5 hours and I'm missing her like crazy...Why did she have to die Spit? Why?"
Spitfire felt tears gathering in her eyes. First of because she had been good friend with Rainbow Dash and for second that she didn't had answers for Soarin's questions. Instead of answering she took him to her hug.
"I don't know Soar, I don't know."
Spitfire felt how Soarin's tears drenched her coat. That wasn't usual Soarin to cry, but who wouldn't cry in this situation. She tightened her grip and began to shed tears herself. Not as much as Soarin, but still enough, to name this crying.
"I know she was important you, but you have to accept it okay?" Spitfire said, finally pulling back from hug.
"That's what her friends told me too. And she herself too." Soarin said tears still coming.
"When are the funerals?" Spitfire asked carefully. She didn't wanted to make Soarin more upset than he already was.
"At Saturday." Soarin whimpered.
***
When Soarin and Spitfire walked around town it seemed that Cloudsdale had already found out what happened. Most of ponies looked down with sorrow, some gave Soarin a reassuring smile. Soarin himself wasn't really noticing any of this, he was actually thinking about Rainbow.
