"Okay, guys, how can we POSSIBLY keep my secret a...well...a secret?" Twilight Sparkle said, playing with a pencil. She quickly scribbled a curlicue on a piece of scrap paper, crumpled up the paper, and tossed it in a trash bin. Rainbow Dash, one of her five best friends, tied and untied her sneakers. That was her way of finding great (usually michevious) ideas. Another friend, Pinkie Pie, was doodling her ideas in her notebook. Her ideas usually had to do with parties. Rarity and Applejack, good friends of not only Twilight but each other, were bickering about good ideas. Fluttershy, the shyest friend of all, stood in the corner silently. Twilight Sparkle could tell she didn't really want to have to debate.
"Well, ah was thinkin' a lot about makin' up lies about ya. Good lies, ah meant. Not mean ones like that bully Sunest Shimmer, a course. It's not mah best idea but ah thought it might just work." Applejack said. Twilight could tell by her face that it was AJ's only idea...and also judging from her face, that AJ wasn't too proud of it. Twilight gave her a confident smile, but even the Princess knew this idea wasn't going to work out. The people attending Equestria High were very smart, and they could probably tell a truth from a lie. Sunset Shimmer, school bully, would probably see through the plan right away, and bribe Pinkie with cupcakes to tell the truth about the plan.
"That...that is a very good idea, Applejack. But I just don't think a lie is the way to go. Plus, lies are kind of mean, even if they're meant to be nice." Twilight said, patting her good (sort of dissapointed) friend. Applejack sighed, and, seeing the best through every situation, sat up tall and smiled proudly. Applejack didn't think her plan was good, because Applejack was the Element of Honesty. She whispered that in Twilight's ear. And Twilight completely understood. It wasn't good to go against the Elements, because Sunset Shimmer would have the best chance of finding out. What would their choices be, then? They'd be in big trouble. And Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, and the most magical being in school (not to mention the only one), would be the center of it!
"Well, my dearest friend, MY completely excellent plan is to hide away the Elements and for you to use your magic scarcely. Sunset Shimmer and others would loose hope of you being anybody important and special. They'd leave us alone for the rest of the year. Zip, zap, we're good!" Rarity said, hopefully. Twilight, shocked, thought it was very good, but couldn't express her excitement in words. Rarity always tried to do the best for Twilight because, little did Twilight, or any of the others, know that Rarity had a horribly strong crush on Twilight, but knew that she would never be able to be the Princess' one and only.
The others agreed, despite their ideas. Pinkie Pie confessed she was only doodling for fun, Applejack agreed that Rarity's plan was positively amazing, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy debated and finally decided it was good. And Twilight, the Princess centered around the plan, was excited and happy about the plan they were about to take underway. With a snap of Twilight's fingers, the Elements appeared at her side. "Go, hide." Twilight ordered. The Elements floated, in the aura of the Princess, into Fluttershy's wardrobe innocently. "Er, is that okay, Fluttershy?" Twilight asked. Fluttershy nodded, too shy to speak.
Later that night, only Twilight and Rarity were awake. Twilight studied for a big test while Rarity painted her nails.
