//-------------------------------------------------------// More Than a Friend -by EveryponyWants2Love- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Olive Garden //-------------------------------------------------------// Olive Garden Flash didn't think he needed to dress up all fancy. He just wore a business suit, like what he wears to work everyday. He's the Princess Royal Body Gaurds. "Hello sir, may I take your order?" the waitress asked. "I'm waiting for someone," Flash responded. "Well, would you like some free breadsticks?" "That would be nice. Thank you." "No problem." Flash sat there and looked around. Did this count as a first date? Or a friendly get-together. He looked around. On one booth there was a couple doing eskimo kisses. A big family sta on a booth. The dad was talking to his sons and the mom was feeding the baby and talking to the oldest daughters. He saw two business men discuss business and all the other fun stuff. "Flash?" He looked up. Rainbow was wearing a red dress, hear hair was in a tight bun, and around her neck she wore a beautiful diamond necklace. Flash was so in love. He was staring at rainbow and her everything. "Flash!" Flash put his head up. "S-sorry Dash," Flash said. He quickly stood up and pulled a chair out for Dash. "All forgiven." "Here's your breadsticks, sir," the waitress said, "Now may I take your order?" "Yes, I'll have lazana with a side salad," Flash ordered. "and you miss?" "Kale soup," Rainbow Dash ordered. "Good. See you shortly." There was an awkward silence. "So, your background? Family background?" Flash took a deep breath. "My mom left my dad when I was six. I remember it. She yelled a thousand cuss words and my dad yelled a thousand back .And I was sitting playing the tablet. Dad picked me up and sent me to bed even though it was only six o'clock which really pissed me off. My dad was a Royal Guard so I had a babysitter. She raised me more than my dad did. Then she died when I was ten. Then I was on my own. I cooked my own meals, took myself to the doctors, bought groceries, all until I went to college when I was 17. "Flash that's really sad." "Yeah. But who knew a kid who's past was horrible would end up being this hot?" Rainbow chuckled. "And who knew a girl who had a worse past would end up to be so beautiful," Flash stated. Rainbow's face turned a bright pink and played with her diamond necklace. "Thank you," she muttered. Flash just kept smiling until the waitress came. "Lazana with side salad, and kale soup?" "Yes," Flash said. "Anything to drink?" He looked over and mouthed 'wine?' to Rainbow Dash. She nodded. "We'll both have white wine." "Okay. Be back in a few." The two took a few bites and sips of their meal. "Look I'm Rarity; Darling this the best food I have ever allowed in my digestive system!" Flash chuckled. The waitress came back with the wine. Flash and Rainbow talked, and talked some more. The more they talked the more and more they understanded each other. And the more they wanted to know about each other. They finished eating. "Look, we've been here for three hours. It took me three hours to eat this food," Flash chuckled, "I never ate so slow in my life!" Flash walked Dash out to her car. "Thank you for a wonderful night," she said, she leaned over and kissed him. She gave him a faint smile and drove off. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Call //-------------------------------------------------------// The Call 5:30 a.m., and Flash was half awake and half asleep. The reason he's up? His iPhone was ringing rock music at 5:29. "This is Flash Sentry. Sup?" he answered. "Flash, we're done." "Hold up; who is this?" Flash asked. "Who would dump you? Your dog?" Flash looked over at his German Shepherd, Callie, who was now awake and licking Flash's cheek. "Twilight?" "Obviously," she said, "as I said, I'm dumping you." "Why?" "Because your lack of respect to me," she said, like it was the most irritating thing in the world. "I respect you fully," Flash said, sitting up on his back. "Hey babe, what are you doing up at five in the morning?" a voice said in the phone. "Benard Blueblood, my new boyfriend," Twilight snapped. "Why is he in your house?" Flash asked. "Are you that stupid?" Twilight said. Flash rubbed his head. "I-I don't understand," Flash said. "I'm dumping you. That's all that really needs to be said," Twilight shrugged. Flash felt tears sting his eyes. Callie licked his hand and whimpered. "Twi-" "Don't Twi me! We. Are. Done." The phone hang up. And tears echoed his empty home... //-------------------------------------------------------// When All Else Fails... Use the Internet! //-------------------------------------------------------// When All Else Fails... Use the Internet! The morning went by slowly for Flash. His big home in Cloudsdale felt hollow and empty, only his footsteps and the whimper of Callie echoed the house. He watched some football, but even his favorite team, the Wonderbolts, winning didn't cheer him up. He finally sat down to his HP laptop on his desk. He wasn't ready to start a new chapter with another girl, but he just wanted to see how many ladies were available in Ponyville.  He signed up, with his real name, and all his other personal stuff. He scrolled through the long lists of results for Ponyville, Pony Dome. Rosebud: "Pastime: gardening. Works at: Rosebud's flower shop. Goal: get married and have children." Flash wasn't ready to totally settle down yet, so check her off the list. Berry Punch: "Pastime: drinking. Works at: Ponyville Bar and Grill. Goal: have a husband to care for her daughter, Berryshine." Flash guessed she was a drunk. And, she had a daughter already. Like he said, he wasn't ready to be a father just yet. Sparkler: "Pastime: playing with younger siblings. Works at: Fireworks and Company. Goal: Just have a husband." Flash thought that was okay, but he just didn't like that she was five years older than him. Rainbow Dash: "Pastime: hanging with friends or napping. Works at: Cloudsdale Storm Alert. Goal: eh, who cares? Just have a lover." Flash beamed. Twi's friend? Rainbow Dash? He thought she was dating that one football player for the Wonderbolts, Soarin was it? He clicked on more information. "Lives in a apartment in Cloudsdale, Pony Dome. Works at Cloudsdale Storm Alert. Been working there for three years now. Loves her job and her pet turtle, Tank. Hangs with her friends and goes on awesome adventures with them. Not to brag, but she's saved Equestria a few times with the awesome Princess Twilight. Background info: Mother died when she was 8. Has a younger sister named Scootaloo. Dad was a drunk and got killed in a car accident when she was 11. Orphaned and adopted by Sunny skies at 13. Her sister Scootaloo is 13 now and is still looking for a foster home or forever home." For the love of Luna and sweet Celestia that girl had a terrible backstory. He clicked messages. "Hey Dash. Sup?" //-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Responds //-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Responds Flash waited. Was that girl still sleeping? After he took Callie out to use the bathroom and took her out for a walk. When he came back, he finally saw Rainbow's response bubble pop up. RD: Hi. Wait-- is this flash? Aren't you dating Twi? FS: She broke up with me yesterday. RD: Poor thing. I know what it feels like to lose someone. FS: Yeah. I saw your family background. RD: Yeah... why does your page have no background at all? FS: Well, I'll only tell it to close friends. I don't want the whole Internet to think a Royal Guard is a wuss. RD: Oh. Maybe some other time. That's actually pretty smart of you, Flash. FS: Thanks. So how's life? RD: Somewhat good. I get to see Scoots everyday. FS: Does she know your her sister? RD: The last time she saw her real mom was when she was two months old. Then the last time she saw dad she was one. She doesn't remember me being her sister. So why break her heart and tell her that I got adopted into an awesome family and that no one adopts her yet? FS: Good point. RD: Listen, it was really good talking to you. Maybe tonight we could meet up at some restaurant, but not too fancy. I gotta head to work, so I'll be back at like five thirty. We'll head over to... Olive Garden at six. Sound good? FS: Sounds great. RD: Okay. Buh-bye.
