The Discovery of the 'Thing'
     It was a normal day in Canterlot, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and a certain purple unicorn filly is doing egghead stuff.
     Then she felt a presence she had always felt, but today was unlike any other day, she had not ignored it. She being curious looked behind her to see her tail. Not knowing why it was there and what exactly it was.
    "What is this thing behind me?" She asked nopony in particular. Being the curious little filly she was and Celestia's personal protege she decided to find out. Thus Twilight decided to attack the thing.
      Much to the dismay of the filly the purple thing fled. Next she found herself comically causing it in circles like a dog. This only added to her frustrastion and curiosity so instead of stopping this foalish act she kept chaseing it.
      Being in Celestia's study at the time the princess merely laughed and stoped the small filly that was growing ever so dizzier. Twlight fell over onto her back like a scared goat when her teacher let go of her.
"Why did you stop me from researching this thing princess?" Celestia only smilled and laughed at the filly's question replying, "Twilight that 'thing' is your tail everypony has one.
