Carter

"This is the Lightspeed Rescue Red Ranger!  I'm calling in a mayday of the Rescue Jet!  I repeat, Mayday of the Rescue Jet! Does anybody read me!"  Carter yelled into the radio. That last battle with the demons had pretty much destroyed most of the Jets controls. He was able to make it without using the Megazords. Unfortunately though, parts of the city was destroyed. More than what he wanted. He needed to check on his older sister.

"Red Ranger! We read you loud and clear! We are sending choppers to your location!" A voice came over the radio.

"Copy that! Im going to make an emergency landing in the nearest clearing I see!"  Carter said back. He turned the control yolk to the left towards a nearby farm. He new the farmer personally, after all, it was where he and his sister lived. He put the jet into a dive sending it hurtling towards the ground below.

Just as he was about to hit the ground he pulled up and the jet leveled out and crashed. The jet jolted as it slid across the field. This continued for a few minutes before the jet slowed to a stop. He quickly undid his belt and ran to the door.

"I just hope they're okay..." He said wondering about his sister and the farmer. His parents had died when he was two and his sister was seven. Both of them were taken in by the farmer. Eventually both of them felt like the farmer was their new father. He occasionally got visits from his siblings the Pies. Carter started thinking of them as family too.

He kicked open the door only to hear the sounds of choppers landing. "Red ranger! Are you alright!" One of the pilots said. There were two military choppers. Each one had four people, two passengers and two pilots. One however had an extra person.  Judging by the badges on his uniform he was a general.

"I'm fine!  We need to check on the residents of this farm!  Follow me!" Carter took off running to the house. The military personnel looked at each other and quickly followed. Carter reached the top of a hill and he saw a horrific sight. Where the house once stood, a smoldering crater now laid. He rand to the edge and fell to his knees. "No... I-I couldn't protect them..."  He felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Son, I know it's not quite the right time but, I believe it's time you show us what's behind the helmet."  The cornel said. He had a look of sympathy.

"I'm not sure if I can trust you Cornel... But I guess your right. But this is classified information. For your and your mens' eyes only. Got it?"  All of them nodded. Carter sighed. He took of his helmet to reveal that he was just a 15 year old kid.  The cornel looked at him in shock.

"You mean to tell me, that a little kid has been protecting us?" Carter nodded. He noticed something shining in the rubble. "What is it?"

Carter quickly ran into the crater and started digging. "No, no... They shouldn't have been home..."  What he found was a charm bracelet. It was a mixture of pink and purple nylon. He had given it to his sited for her latest birthday. Because they couldn't afford a lot, none of them really got stuff for their birthdays. So when Carter had made the bracelet, She was overjoyed.

"I'm assuming that this was your house. I'm sorry for your loss." One of the soldiers said. Carter morphed out of ranger mode. His jeans were torn and his shirt had holes in it. He didn't look to be in the best condition either. He put on the bracelet as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Dammit... Why wasn't I fast enough? Why..." He just say there crying for awhile.

"I know you're going to hate me for this but, we need to find you a new place to live now that we know who you are. Do you have any living relatives?" He shook his head.

"Well, I guess there is Uncle and Auntie Pie." He said. He proceeded to stand up and look at the cornel. "I can make it there on my own. I can also deal with the Zords and move them with me. And feel free to scrap the rescue jet." He said to the Cornel. After that he proceeded to walk past them and out into the fields.
