Chapters Richards Alternate Universe
It was a normal day in canterlot high. *boom!* Sunset Shimmer jumped at the sudden noise. Three boys ran past her, not far behind was a boy by the name of Richard Garret. Richard stopped chasing them half way down the hall.
"I swear to god if you fuckers blow me up again!" Richard yelled. Sunset had seen him before, he was in about half her classes. She remembered the first day of music class. Rich picked up an electric guitar and sat down, the teacher had a test that day. It was to see what you knew about playing your instrument. Rich was asked to stand and play, Rich pulled out an instruction book and started flipping through it. After three seconds of that Rich threw the book behind him.
"Ah fuck instructions!" Rich said, he immediately started playing. He played rob zombies superbeast, he hit every note from the song perfectly. He even sang it, he had a gorgeous voice. When the teacher asked if that was all he knew how to play, Rich started playing three days grace animal. The teacher still wasn't impressed yet, so he played riot by three days grace. The teacher decided to name one song he would do.
"I want you to play ozzy oz born' crazy train." The teacher said. Rich gave him a devilish grin and started the song, he sang and played the guitar through it all. Sunset would even say his skill beat Rainbow's. The teacher took slightly impressed, but he wanted to test Rich with one more song. "Play hail to the king by avenged sevenfold."
"Ha! You picked my favorite song. Prepare to feel the music in ways you never thought you could." Rich plugged in the guitar to an amp, he cranked the volume all the way up. The teacher sat in his chair, looking unimpressed. As soon as he started playing, the teacher had his glasses knocked off his face. After he finished the song everyone in the room started to cheer, except for Rainbow dash who was but hurt.
"Nice work mister Garret." The teacher said.
"Please, mister Garret is my father. I'm not that old, just call me Rich." Richard said.
Back to the current time, sunset shimmer is staring at Rich. She's never really know him personally, as far as she can tell he's nice. Rich turned to see her staring at him.
"Please don't look at me like that, I can be a nice guy once you get to know me. That is, if you don't blow me up." Rich said.
"How did you survive the explosion?" Sunset asked.
"I have my ways." Rich said with a smile. The bell rang, it was time for music. "I have to go to my locker now. Great I'm going to be fucking late again." He said to himself. Sunset shimmer walked into music and sat with her friends. They talked about many things while waiting for the teacher. When love interests came up, Sunset became a little nervous.
"Oo, is that your love interest Sunset? Cuz I think he's watching you." Pinkie pointed to Rich peering from behind the doorway. He wasn't exactly well hidden. Rich stood there for a few seconds before putting on he best Irish accent and-
"Fitliedee they're on to us, Joey get the cupcakes we're outa here! Leprechaun vanish!" Rich said. He ran away from the door frame and down the hall.
"Well, that was awkward." Rainbow dash said.
"No what's awkward is I forgot my guitar, I have it now." Rich said poking his head out of the doorway. The group watched as the boy in full leather put his guitar down on the floor, and put his feet up in the window as he leaned back in his chair. He sat in the corner alone, even when people came in they didn't sit anywhere near him. He pulled out his guitar and tuned it quietly for a second. He began to play Marilyn mansions sweat dreams on his guitar, he didn't sing it, he just played it. Everyone one went quiet to here him play. kinda strange, no one wants to sit with him yet they'll be quiet to listen to him play. He got tired of playing that so he switched the song he was playing. He started playing monster by skillet. Sunset couldn't help but feel as if he was trying to convey something to everyone through this song.
Sunset was walking home from school, she loved to walk home because of the gorgeous plants. The tree's, the flowers, she just found them breath taking. There is one person who always came by the area she was walking, Richard. He rode a Harley Davidson sportster 48 to and from school. The bike was black just like Rich's outfit, Richard always wore black leather boots, pants, jacket and gloves. The only time he didn't wear the jacket and gloves was when he played the guitar. On this day, sunset shimmer was a bit further along then she usually was when Rich came by. She watched rich pull up to his house, cut the bikes engine and get off. He quickly walked up the three stairs that led to his front door, and unlocked the door.
She didn't know up until then, but Rich had two bikes. One was a Honda magna and his main bike was the sportster 48. Sunset made a turn onto her street and as quick as she saw where Richards house was, it wasn't visible anymore. She thought about everything that had occurred today, she couldn't help but laugh at what Richard did with his Irish accent.'Man, what a strange guy.' Sunset thought. She couldn't help but think about something he said when pinkie pointed him out in music, 'they're into us.'
Richards Alternate Universe
Rich walked into the cafiteria with his bike, he chose an empty table to sit at. He put his feet up on the table, pulled out his phone and started listening to music. Sunset and her friends were looking over at him, they wondered why he brung his bike to every class.
"Ok, I have to ask him or it will bug me forever." Sunset said to her friends. Sunset walked a crossed the cafiteria towards Rich. She tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.
"Excuse me, I can't help but wonder, why do you bring your bike with you to every class?" Sunset said.
"Well I have three reasons, one: people will try to take it. Two: people will try to trash it. Three: someone might try to siphone the gas while I'm not there." Rich said. Sunset scratched the back of her head nervously.
"T-Thank you, I-I was just wondering. Hey what are you listening to?" Sunset asked nervously.
"It's AC/DC."
"It's what?" Sunset asked. Rich took out his earphones and handed them to sunset.
"Here just listen, I think you should know this song." Sunset sat down and put the earphones in. When he turned the song on, she recognized it right away. It was highway to hell, everyone knows that song. She took the earphones out.
"Oh yeah! I know this band!" Sunset said. She turned to her friends and waved them over. The five girls stood up and walked over to Richards table.
"Hey, nice bike. I've always wondered, how do you drive a motorcycle?" Rainbow asked. Rich stood up and walked over to his bike, he sat down on it and put the kickstand up.
"Ok, here is the clutch." Rich pointed to the lever that looked like a hand brake, it was located on the left side handle bar. "You squeeze it like this to shift gears. This peg right here, the one In front of the foot rest." He pointed to the left side foot rest. "That's the gear shifter, now there are six separate gears. There's first gear." Rich pulled the clutch and pushed the peg down once. "There's neutral, it's right between first and second gear." He lifted the peg half way. "Now second, third, fourth and fifth gear." Rich pulled the clutch and lifted the peg four times. "Now the peg on the opposite side foot rest is the rear brake." He pointed to the other peg. "And this right here is the handbrake." He pointed to the lever on the right side handle bar. "The left turning signal is on the left handle and the right turning signal is on the right handle. Also on the right handle is the kill switch, the ignition button, and the horn." Rich pointed out each button to the group. He started the engine and sat back. "Always start the bike in neutral, then hold the clutch and drop it into first gear. Don't release the clutch yet though. You will slowly release the clutch as your slowly giving the bike gas. As the engine starts sounding high pitched you want to switch the bike into a higher gear."
"Could I try?" Rainbow asked. Rich cut the engine and took his hands off the handle bars.
"Sure, but let's do it outside. I think I've freaked enough people out by turning the bike on in the building. Oh and one more thing, always cut the engine in first gear. It won't be able to move around while your puting the kickstand down." Rich said. They took the bike outside and rich sat on the back as rainbow sat down. Rich put his arms around her waist, this freaked her out a bit.
"What are you doing?" Rainbow asked.
"I have to hold on to you while we're riding. Let's just say I don't want to fall off." Richard said. "Now put the bike In neutral." Rainbow shifted the gear into neutral.
"Start the engine, then drop her into first gear." Rich said. Rainbow started the bike and dropped it into first gear.
"Good, now slowly release the clutch while slowly twisting the throttle. Always release the throttle when changing gears." Rich said. The bike slowly started to move, Rainbow was doing pretty good for a beginner. Rich and Rainbow took the bike around the block once and came back. Rainbow stopped the bike and got off.
"That. Was. Awesome!" Rainbow said.
"Alright, sunset why don't you give it a try? Come on." Rich said.
"I could possibly remember the controls." Sunset said nervously.
"Well then hop on the back, I'll do all the handling. Just hang on tight when we start moving." Rich said. Sunset took the helmet from Rainbow dash and put it on. She got on the back and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. In moments the started moving slowly, gradually picking up speed. They took the bike around the block once and came back, sunset enjoyed the ride. It was a lot more comfortable than she thought it would be.
"Wow, that was, nice. I see why you like riding." Sunset said.
"Man, now I want one of those bikes. What type is it and how much did it cost to get it?" Rainbow said.
"It's a Harley Davidson sportster 48, it cost about 13-14 thousand dollars. Not as expensive as a car but it's still a bit high." Rich said.
"Sweat! I can afford that, but how much is it to get a license?" Rainbow asked.
"It's around fifty to a hundred bucks. Not to much more." Rich said.
"Nice! Look out everyone, by next Monday I'll have a sportster 48!" Rainbow said excitedly.
"Great, soon I'll have a group to ride with." Rich said with a smile.

Chapter 4: the day sunset found out
Sunset Shimmer was walking home from school one day. She noticed that rich hadn't been to school all day, she thought rich was just sick. As she was passing by his house she heard the sound of something falling over and glass breaking. She approached the house with cation. She knocked on the door, it slowly swung open on its own. The door hadn't been closed all the way. When she stepped inside she was shocked by what she saw. All the lights were off and the windows were painted over. There was furniture flipped over, tables broken in half and metal racks knocked over. One thing caught sunsets eye, it was a picture. It showed a man, a woman and rich in between them. She brushed off the broken glass on top of it and picked it up. They all appeared to be smiling. Sunset heard another crash come from up stairs. She slowly walked up the stairs, when she reached the top floor she saw more wreckage. There was a room at the top of the steps and then a hall way with two other rooms to her right. Sunset peaked inside the open door of the first room. She didn't see anyone among the debris, she slowly pulled her head out from the first room and made her way to the second. The room was located on the right side of the hall, once again the door was open. She peaked in to find nothing. She turned the walk towards the last door, it was on the left side of the hall. She spotted a bathroom door at the end of the hall, it was right next to the last room.
She noticed the last bed room door was mostly closed, but it was still open a crack. With a light push the door swung open, sunsets gaze immediately fell on rich. He was on the floor slumped up against the wall, he was surrounded by debris. He had his usual clothing on. Rich lifted his head a little, he saw sunset but didn't say anything. He had a blank expression on, but his eyes were red and puffy like he hadn't slept. sunset began to slowly walk her way towards rich, stepping over various pieces of debris. She sat down next to rich with her back against the same wall he was slumped up against. She pulled her legs close to her body and started speaking.
"Rich, what's going o-" before she could finish rich started speaking.
"Do you know what it's like to have a monster inside you? One that you can't control, and always tries to break out at night? One that does things to people and you don't want it to?" Rich said in a raspy tone.
"What do you mean rich?" Sunset asked. Rich started laughing for a moment.
"You know that thing that killed those men last week at the park, the drug dealers? That thing is inside me. This thing, it's gory, horrific, and terrifying. It's the reason my family disowned me. They saw what I could become and they pushed me away. There's good and evil in all of us, this thing, the rider, it hunts and kills people that have more evil than good inside of them." He started laughing again." And don't get me wrong, I love it. He he he ha ha ha ha. He's the only friend I have in this wretched world. Everyone else leaves me once they find out. So go, leave me like everyone else. It's only natural."
"No, I'm getting you help." Sunset said, rich just started laughing again but it was cut short by a fit of coughing. Sunset dialed a number on her phone and put it to her ear. "Hey, Rainbow dash? It's sunset, I need you to come to ********** ***** ave. me and rich are on the top floor in the final room on the left, rich needs help."
With in minutes Rainbow was there, sunset and Rainbow dash put them selves under his arms to walk him to the car. As soon as he touched the sun light, rich fell to his hands and knees and vomited. He only did so once so the girls picked him up again. Once they got hi to the car, they drove him to the hospital. Rainbow gave him a bucket in case he was going to vomit again. The sun was slowly setting, rich starred at the setting sun with wide eyes.
"You need to let me out, now." Rich said in a raspy tone.
"No, you need help." Sunset said. Rich looked back out the window to see the sun drop below the horizon. As soon as the sun was down he started convulsing in pain. Sunset noticed this but she didn't know what rich would do, rich opened the door to the moving car and jumped out. The street they were on was empty, and only lit by street lights. Rich started to stand up as Rainbow stopped the car, they both got out and they were shocked by what they saw. White smoke was emanating from his skin, rich started screaming as he started catching fire. With in seconds the screaming was replaced with an insane laughter. The skin started coming of in chunks and they saw the charcoal black skull, fire started emanating from the gaps in the skin. Rich stopped laughing once he was nothing but a flaming charcoal black skeleton wearing leather clothes. The thing that rich became was swaying its head from side to side, it was almost like a cobra would do.
Rich wasn't facing the two girls straight on, right side was facing them. Rainbow, in fear, swung at the thing.
"What did you do with rich!" She screamed, the thing caught her hand before it even impacted with his head. The thing looked sharply left, both girls looked for what he was looking at. They saw a Harley Davidson sportster 48 approaching quick, the tires were in flames and the engine parts seemed to glow red hot in the dark. The bike stopped next to the thing and it got on, with a quick twist of the throttle it was off. The bike left a thick trail of smoke and a thin line of fire.
"Uh sunset? What was that!?" Rainbow dash asked. She pieced together what rich had said, the realization hit her that he was not imagining things from being sick. He was telling the truth.
"It was rich."
"What? How?" Rainbow asked.
"He was mumbling some stuff to me when I found him, I thought he was dreaming things up because of a high fever."
"Well what did he say!?" Rainbow asked.
"He said the thing on those security tapes, the one that brutally murdered those drug dealers, he said it was inside him. And that it prey's on people that have more evil in them then good. He said it only comes out at night. I didn't believe him, why didn't I believe him?" Sunset said, Rainbow pit a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, you did what you thought was right, you thought he was very sick so you tried to take him to the hospital. Although I still wonder about something." Rainbow said.
"Yeah, what's that?" Sunset asked.
"Why did he hurl when he walked into the sun light?"
"I don't think that was him that barfed, I think it was the thing inside him. From what he said it only comes out at night, that must mean the sun light hurts it in some way." Sunset explained.
"Well let's follow him!" Rainbow said, suddenly the two girls heard a screech and a loud smash. Another car had rear ended her car. Two men got out and inspected the damage. Rainbow dash approached them, and sunset followed behind.
"Hey what the hell man! This is a new car!" Rainbow shouted.
"Sorry about that, me and my friends were joking around and I didn't see your car." The two girls didn't see it, but four other guys got out on the other side and we're making their way around the two cars. They were all carrying guns with them, the road they were on was out in the woods so no one would notice. The man kept talking with Rainbow dash about the damages, while the others quietly surrounded them. Rainbow dash pulled her hand back to wind up a punch.
"Why you!" She screamed.
"I wouldn't do that, look around you." The man said. The girls looked around to see four men, each twenty feet away and carrying guns. The man spoke again. "If I was you, I would come quietly. Oh and if you scream, no one will hear it, and it would be such a waste, we'd have to shoot you." A suddenly, loud, inhuman laugh was hear in the distance. Suddenly from around the bend in the road, a flaming bike appeared with a flaming man on it.
"Rich, help." Sunset quietly said to her self.
"Who's this clown, boys take care of it." One of the men started shooting, he finished a whole clip and the thing seemed unphased. It got of its bike and approached the man who shot him slowly. The man just stood there in fear, the thing stopped in front of him. It didn't move what so ever.
"Ha, he ain't gonna hurt no b-*coughing*" the thing had moved its had in a flash and grappled the man by the throat, it squeezed harder and harder until it's fingers sunk into the skin. It swiftly yanked its hand back and a chunk of the mans throat came with it. The thing dropped the chunk to the ground as the man fell. As the man lay there on his back, gasping for air, the thing swiftly put its foot down on his face. The mans skull flattened as if it was a card board box. It ran up to the next gun man and grabbed him by the sides of the head, it took a deep breath inward and pulled the mans mouth open. We hit exhaled down his throat, fire came out of his mouth. It was burning the man alive from the inside out. The man died quickly and turned into an ash pile. The third gun man tried to run, but the thing whipped something around. It wasn't until it stopped that they all realized that it was a chain with a hook on the end. The hook had gone right through the mans skull. The thing yanked the chain and a chunk of the gun mans head came off. The gun man turned into ashes shortly after. The final gun man had dropped to his knees. The thing walked up to him, it grabbed the mans body with one hand, and grabbed the mans head with the other. It pushed the head down so quickly and violently that the spine was forced up into the skull. The final two men didn't have guns, and they did all the talking. They were standing next to each other, the thing whipped the chain around again. It wrapped around the two men, they started to scream as the red hot chains were burning them. The thing yanked the chain for a final time and they turned to ashes.
After the thing cleaned up the remains of the first man it killed. It started to walk towards Rainbow and Sunset. Rainbow pulled her arm back and hit it in the face.
"Leave us alone!" Rainbow screamed, The thing threw its head back for a second after it was hit. It stumbled back for one step. It raised one hand and stuck out one finger, the finger was pointing upward. It slowly started waving it side to side. Sunset couldn't help but laugh at this. Both Rainbow and the thing looked at her. Sunset just looked at Rainbow.
"What, it has a sense of humor. It told you off in the most ironic way. It killed all these people, but when you hit him he just waves his finger at you." Sunset said threw periodic chuckles, Rainbow couldn't help but join in. The both laughed for a minute, the thing was just looking back and forth at each of them. It walked closer to rainbow and started checking her.
"Hey! What are you doing!?" Rainbow said, the thing stopped and approached Sunset. It proceeded to do the same thing.
"I think it's checking to make sure we're unharmed." Sunset said. The thing stopped checking Sunset and walked back toward its bike. It reeved the engine twice then it took off.
Sunset and Rainbow made it home safely, despite the fact that Rainbow dashes car was damaged. The next day after school, sunset checked on Rich. He didn't come to school again so she wanted to make sure he was fine. She knocked on the fully closed door and rich opened it. The house wasn't trashed anymore and Richards eyes weren't red.
"Hey Rich, I just came to check on you. You didn't show up to school again, so I just wanted to be sure you were alright." Sunset said with a blush.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I've just been cleaning all day, the house is done now though." Rich said with a smile.
"Oh, ok. Hey rich?" Sunset said.
"Yeah."
"Me and the other girls are going to sugar cube corner to hang out, do you want to come?" Sunset asked nervously.
"Sure why not, you walking there?" Rich said.
"Uh, yeah, right after this actually." Sunset said with a blush, she tried to hide it with a smile.
"Alright then." Rich grabbed his jacket and his keys.
"Why are you taking your bike keys?" Sunset asked.
"I'm giving you a ride up there." Rich said, he handed sunset a full head helmet. Sunset took it and put it on, Rich opened his Garage and rolled the bike out. He got on and motioned for sunset to get on. She got on and rich started the bike.
"Now hold on tight." Rich said, sunset wraped her arms around him and put her feet up on the passengers foot pegs. The bike started slowly and gradually got faster. The whole time sunset couldn't help but think, 'I can't believe I'm this close to him right now, I'm technically hugging him right now and no one cares or suspects a thing.'
Richards Alternate Universe
Chapter 5: the explanation
Sunset and rich walked into the sweets shop, they were greeted by the rest of the girls in their group.
"Hey there partner, we heard about what happened. We also heard about that thing and how it saved Rainbow and Sunsert. what is this thing anyway?" Applejack asked.
"Yeah, he was all fire and bone and stuff!" Rainbow added. Rich pulled up a chair and sat down.
"He is, well, technically you would call him an angle."
"WHAT!" The six girls said at once.
"He was a spirit of justice, sent to the earth to protect the innocent. Sadly, he was tricked by the devil, and dragged down to hell. He became twisted, broken, corrupted, and turned into the spirit of vengeance. The spirit of justice was only supposed to make the guilty feel the pain of the people they had wronged. The spirit of vengeance however, wants to destroy guilty people for what they have done. Let's say you do nothing but lie, or you cheat constantly, or you've committed an act or acts of murder, he will destroy you for it. One man once said his power was 'God like'. Granted he and I are no gods, but we do make the most powerful angle. Even the devil himself couldn't compare. And if I did my research correctly, I believe the rider over threw the devil, and became the new king of hell. He's not evil like the devil though, the rider lives to serve the creator in protecting the innocent. Even if it means destroying the guilty." Rich stopped talking and looked up from the hot drink he had.
Everyone was staring at him, they were shocked.
"So let me get this straight." Rainbow dash said. "The thing inside you is the new king of hell?"
"Pretty much, but instead of trying to plague innocent people with curses and demons like the last king, he just punishes the guilty." Rich said. "There are a few draw backs to having it inside you, but a big plus is you can control your body temperature to stay comfortable. For example, it's getting cold out because we're getting close to winter. I can walk out side, in the snow, with just underwear on and not get frostbite."
"Oh, so that's why you can wear that jacket all the time." Pinkie said.
"Yep, I can wear it comfortably and still look like a badass." Rich said.
"Uh, Ah hate to tell you rich. But Ah think you look more threatening with all that on." Applejack said.
"That's where our definitions of badass differ. My definition of badass is looking threatening but cool." Rich said.
"Well you definitely pull off your definition of badass very well rich." Sunset said.
"Thank you Sunset." Rich said. Everyone was staring at Sunset curiously.
"What, he looks like he will kick your ass if you mess with him, And the clothes match really well. As a bonus to the whole threatening thing, when he's relaxed his eyes still make him look pissed off." Sunset explained. Everyone nodded there heads in agreement.
"Well do you have control over it?" Rainbow asked.
"Partially, I can use one ability at a time and still have control. If I tried to use the hell fire chain and make my hand look like its on fire for example, he will break out. If I'm just doing one or the other then I'll be fine." Rich explained.
"Then let's see what you can do! I know of a really big clearing in the middle of the woods, we can go there after dark and you can show us what you can do with that, hell fire chain or whatever." Rainbow said excitedly.
"Sure, why not. I believe there's also old abandoned construction equipment there, so I'll be able to show you something else too." Rich said.
"Well then, ah think we should get goin if we want to be there by sundown. The sun is already settin'." Applejack said.
"Alright then, who wants to ride on the back of my bike with me." Rich asked. Rainbow looked like she was going to say something, but she didn't. Sunset looked around to see who wanted to, when she saw no one she spoke up.
"I guess I will." She said.
"Ok then, let's get a move on!" Rich said. As they were walking out of the doors, Rainbow stopped Sunset.
"Hey, I let you take the ride with rich, I can tell you really like him." Rainbow whispered. Sunset blushed.
"Is it really obvious?" Sunset asked quietly.
"No, but I put two and two together after the incident, that comment you made about him being badass and cool gave it away for me though." Rainbow whispered back. The two girls walked out the doors, rich was starting his bike and everyone else was getting in a car. Sunset put on the spare helmet that rich gave her and climbed onto the bike with rich. Rich had let her keep the helmet she used on the ride over from his house. Sunset felt an overpowering sense of joy as she sat on the bike with him.
Richards Alternate Universe
Chapter 3: making friends.
Rich pulled up to canterlot high on his bike. He was going to walking the front door, he usually always came early. Rich stopped when he heard someone calling his name, it was Applejack calling his name.
"Hey Rich! Why don't ya hang out with us over here?" Applejack said.
"Yeah, come and hang with us!" Rainbow dash said.
"You seem like a nice person and all, so get over here silly billy!" Pinkie pie said.
"Don't be shy darling, come and join us. Oh and you simply must tell me where you got your leather jacket, it's simply Devine!" Rarity said.
"Alright, aright I'm coming." Rich said with a smile. "Oh and Rarity, my mother got this for me from your boutique. That's why you like it so much. So anyway, what's up?"
"We thought you should hang with us. You seem really cool." Rainbow said.
"Oh and absolutely stylish! Where did you get your hair done?" Rarity said.
"Rarity, ya don't have to ask the man so many questions. He just got here." Applejack said.
"It's ok Applejack. To answer your question I do my hair my self. I get a shower, comb it straight and hop on my bike. It dries while I'm riding to school and it gives it that wind blown look you love." Rich said.
"Thank you darling, I won't ask anymore question about your fashion." Rarity said.
"So Rich, what have you been up to lately?" Rainbow asked.
"Well I gave my bike a tune up yesterday. take the bike out for a test ride every time you tune it up. Other than that I stayed home, watched tv and jammed out to music." Rich said.
"Pretty uneventful huh?" Rainbow said.
"Yup, well I'm gonna head to my locker. I'll see ya around." Rich said. He walked through the doors and into the school. He took his leather gloves off and walked to his locker.
