I paced back and forth inside of my cottage, my body shaking like a leaf. My animals had been staring at me for quite some time now. Poor things, they must be worried about me after what I've done to help them.
"Fluttershy?" Somepony shouted from the kitchen. I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at the kitchen's open door.
"Oh, why hello, Indiana," I greeted my deer pony assistant. The horned pony stared at me, a look of worry in her eyes. She raised an eyebrow at me. I saw the way she stared at me, and I didn't want her to think anything was wrong, so I hid my face behind my mane. I really need to get it cut — it's getting really long…
The next thing I knew, Indiana standing in front of my face, waving her hoof across my eye area. I blushed.
"Sorry, Indie... I'm just a little-" I apologised, then I was cut off.
"Fluttershy, what's wrong? You're not usually this nervous."
When I was about to reply, there was a knock at the front door. I straightened my posture and walked over to the door. Before I answered, I checked my appearance in the mirror close to the it.
Wow... I really have grown over the years...
I felt a push on my back. Turning around, I found it was Indiana pointing and pushing me to the door. Blushing, I approached the it and then opened it. I was greeted by Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and their daughter Apple Dust. Sheesh, she's grown!
The adorable infant crawled around Rainbow's head, and I couldn't help but smile. Everypony but me and Twilight had found somepony to settle down with. I had once had my eye on AJ's brother, Big Macintosh, but then I found out that he was dating Cheerlie. I'm honestly really glad I didn't ask him out, now I have stronger feelings than ever for somepony close to me.
Applejack nodded to her partner as Rainbow turned around and walked down the path to the garden to entertain Dust.
"Alrighty Flutters, what d'ya need?" the farm pony asked in her country accent. Her accent had really changed over the years that they hadn't spoken, after having their child Apple Dust. It had definately gotten stronger in my opinion. Or maybe my hearing was going bad? Wow, I'm only 25!
"Oh, I need some advice on-" I stopped and shyed away from the last word. I'm really embarrassed about talking on this particular subject.
"On what?" Applejack replied, waiting for my continuation.
I continued to shy away then squeaked out, "love..."
Applejack obviously heard me, and instantly let out a loud cheer. Even louder than my yays! Oh wait, my yays aren't even that loud...
"Ah' thought ya'd never ask! What d'ya need advice on. Oh, should ah get Dash?" the pony standing in front of me eagerly blurted out. Oh apples! Did ah say too much at once? the orange mare thought to herself.
"Okay. I'll go make us something to drink," I smiled in addition to my response as we both turned around to head to our desired places. Applejack walked down the path as I headed towards the kitchen, where Indiana had already prepared four mugs of coffee and a glass of Apple family apple juice - which we had in the fridge - for Apple Bolt.
Applejack and her family of two came back and stood in front of the door. I nervously trotted out of the kitchen, and showed them to somewhere they could sit down. Following them to the living room, I sat down in my favourite fluffy chair, and snuggled up to its fluff. I sighed in comfort.
"Indiana will be bringing the drinks through in a minute," I told them from across the room. We sat in near silence for the next couple of minutes, the sound of Apple Bolt fidgeting across the sofa and whispering to Rainbow was the only thing that could be heard. Then Indie walked into the room, carefully balancing a tray of drinks with one hoof. She set them down on the small table in the centre of the room, as the deer hybrid looked up from the tray that she was determined not to spill any of the drinks from, smiling at me and sitting next to me.
The filly bolted for the apple juice as the other four of us giggled at her actions. She looked back at her parents and scowled, then returned to her spot on the sofa, sipping at the juice.
"Aww, she's such a little cutie," I complimented.
Rainbow Dash responded, "Hah, she totally is. She's awesome, aren't ya kid?" and ruffled her hair. The only responds was a smile and a nod of her head whilst still drinking her juice.
The room went dead silent for a few moments, until Applejack finally spoke up.
"So, ya wanted to talk to us about love?" Applejack asked.
"Oh, I'm glad you brought this up, um..."
---*---
"You're in love with Twilight? Hah, I knew that egghead would find somebody one day, never doubted her," Rainbow Dash responded to me saying I like like Twilight.
"Ah don't think that's a bad choice. Twi and Flutters would look cute together," AJ commented on the situation.
They gave me some advice, but then they had to leave for home because Rainbow had to handle the weather. I didn't even realise that Indiana hadn't spoken the whole time, all she'd done was smile. Then I waved them goodbye as Rainbow shouted from the bottom of the path, "Go get her, girl!"
I blushed and waved one last goodbye as I closed the door and walked into the living room for a nap. I'm under a lot of stress right now, so what's better than a nap?
---*---
I woke up a few hours later. It seemed as if Indiana had also fallen asleep across from me. I decided that I'd clean up the little discussion I'd had earlier. I decided that I'd clean up the little mess that we had left from the little discussion. I stood up and stretched out, then walked over to the table and took the cups into the kitchen.
Then I had an urge. An urge to confess. Confess my love for Twilight. I placed the tray on the side and ran out of the kitchen. Ripping a piece of paper from the pile on the desk, I grabbed a pencil from next to the flower vase behind the stack of papers and scribbled down a quick note so she knew where I was if she got worried.
Gone out, I'll tell you after. -Bunny
Bunny was my nickname given by Indiana and only could be used by her, and it was adorable in my eyes. But there is no time for that now. I have to go!
I barged through the door and slammed it shut, not caring if it woke Indie. Okay, maybe I do care a little. Okay, I admit, I care a lot.
I galloped my way through Ponyville, through the market and barged past the browsing ponies, almost all of them turning to look at me funnily. Only a few didn't do this, they must be used to it the poor ponies.
When I arrived at the friendship castle, I knocked on the door. Hopefully she's in, hopefully somepony can here me! I heard some shouting as somepony finally opened the door. It was Sunset Shimmer! I never knew that they lived with each other.
"Fluttershy!" Sunset squealed as she came and hugged me. I smiled and giggled as I accepted the action.
"I didn't know you lived with Twilight. Are you two like, a couple, or something? Sorry if I seem rude..." Sunset just laughed.
"Couple? Nah, we're study buddies! She's still studying hard, and since I wanted to learn from the princess, I decided I would get lessons from her. Then she decided that I was improving so much, that she offered for me to stay here!" Sunset blurted out fast, but I could make it out.
"That's great Sunset. But could I see Twilight for a private matter please? Not to be rude..."
"Of course you can! I'll show you the way to where she is," she smiled in response.
She lead me up a few flights of stairs until she reached the room where Twilight resided.
"Thanks," I smiled and waved, as she headed back into what I thought was the library.
I knocked on the crystal door. I heard the sound of books being dropped as a voice shouted from inside,
"Come in! It's open!"
I slowly creaked open the door, and closed it behind me after I'd entered. Twilight turned around and happily squealed at the sight of me. She ran to me and brought me into a tight hug, as I hugged her back.
"It's so great to see you! What are you doing here? I haven't seen you in years," Twilight asked with enthusiasm.
I blushed, then decided, its the perfect time to tell her the truth. I coughed then took a few moments to prepare to talk.
"You see the thing is..." Come on Fluttershy! I can't shy away now! Twilight Sparkle eagerly awaited for me to finish my sentence, so I blurted it out.
"Will you go out with me? I've really liked you for a long time now," I felt so relived to get that out of me.
Twilight was shocked. I blushed.
Suddenly, she shouted, "YES! I will be your marefriend Fluttershy!"
She tackle hugged me. I was so happy!
I shall live happy, knowing that I have confessed my love.
My love for a friend.
