Demon High Academy

   Kalib stepped off the train and looked up towards the towering spires of the academy in front of him. He let out his breath before trudging through the snow to one set of four massive oak doors that pointed out to each cardinal direction, but before he could knock he heard another set of hoof steps right behind him.

   "Hello, you must be Kalib, my name is Ms. O'Conalay." A mare said from behind him.

   Kalib turned around and focused his one good eye on tan mare with a tawny mane and tail and soft teal eyes. He fixed her with a glare from his emerald green but she chuckled.

   "They must've sent you to the wrong door." Ms. O'Conalay told him. "Follow me, I'll get you with the rest of the group and pair you up with someone."

   Kalib followed her making sure to keep three paces behind her in case something decided to go haywire. Although he made it seem as if the evergreen pine tree distracted him with their snow covered needles he knew his guide was watching him. He watched his breath as it fogged up in front of his face in a white cloud-like puff of steam and he watched the tiny frost crystals melt slowly as they started to match the temperature outside his body.

   "Good thing they dropped you after it stopped snowing or it would've been an absolute disaster." Ms. O'Conalay told him. "We also have several sets of the uniform waiting for you to pick up."

   They reached another set of massive wooden doors and Ms. O'Conalay held the door open for Kalib to enter. As they finally set foot on the newly polished wax floors of the Academy Kalib looked up at the ornate gold and crystal chandelier that hung in the main foyer as Ms. O'Conalay walked over to him a Pegasus following her.

   "I apologize for the inconvenience but the only other room available with a student of the opposite sex." Ms. O'Conalay told him. "It's room 238 Antigone."

   The Pegasus nodded but both females watched as Kalib walked past them down one of the hallways before Ms. O'Conalay called after him but he just waved them off. He knew exactly where he needed to go due to his previous, labor intensive studies of the schematics of the Academy's layout. He focused enough on the hallway and walls around him that he didn't notice the mare until he had almost plowed over her.

   "Watch where you going, if you don't mind." The mare told him softly, waking Kalib from his daze. "Are you even listening?"

   "Hmmm?" Kalib asked her, his question more of a rumble in his throat.

   "Figures you weren't listening since you almost ran me over." The mare told him.

   Kalib finally focused on her and noticed how easily their chest were touching and took a few steps back before speak. "I apologize, I just got distracted by the subtle architecture of these hallways."

   The mare sighed before nodding her head. "These hallways can be confusing."

   "It's not that, I have the schematics memorized in perfect, its just how well these hallways are crafted." Kalib replied nodding to the bare stone walls with floating lights. "You would think that with how bare these walls are that sound would easily reflect off of them resulting in an echo but there isn't an echo what so ever."

   "Um, sure; since you know where everything is could you guide me to room 238, if that isn't too far out of your way I mean?" The mare asked him.

   "No need to worry I was heading there myself, and if I end up starting to ramble on about the building and such things feel free to tune me out." Kalib told her.

   "I like having someone to talk to so I'm all ears." The mare replied.

   Kalib nodded as the mare fell in beside him and he unconsciously started to ramble on about the different aspects of the building with the mare gratefully helping him with an magical aspect he didn't quite understand, this of which the mare found pleasing. Kalib glanced over her light blue body and bright red hair, but what really got him were her stunning purple eyes.

   "Are you okay?" The mare asked him.

   "Huh, oh yeah I'm fine." Kalib told her as he smiled slightly causing the mare to smile as well.
