I pled with tears streaming down my face. "This isn't you! Please! We can talk this through just don't do this!" A dark laugh echoed through the night as a figure appeared, casting a dark shadow in the moonlight. "Oh you dolt. Cant you see?! I'm not your precious Luna anymore!" the figure shouted as she raised onto her hind legs. "I am Nightmare Moon! And you shall fear me if you wish to continue your futile life you miserable worm!" She shouted. "Luna please! I just want to help! It's me, remember? Your shooting star? Please Luna just remember me-!" I started, only to be cut off by a blast of lightning hitting me in the chest, knocking me onto my back and removing any air that once took refuge in my lungs. "L-luna-" Another blast of lightning hits my back. "P-please..." And another. "S-stop-" A fourth. "How many times mortal! How many times must I harm you before you get it through your thick skull that your precious Princess of the Night is gone?!" Nightmare moon shouted at me with her eyes glowing white in rage. A light chuckle escapes my lips as I start to stand, be it a bit shakily. "You don't get it do you? L-luna is....so much more than you think." I start, my voice growing in volume slowly as i speak. "She...fights for what she believes in. And i know she can fight you!" I shout, now standing tall and proud in the face of my worse fear, my new enemy...my nightmare. The tyrant before me gawks at me, but soon her look of shock turns to a evil snarl. "Fine. Have it your way, swine. Just remember... all start fall at one point." She said before blasting me with a bolt of dark blue magic. Something felt...off. Like I was feeling stiff all the sudden. I look to my legs through my torn pant legs and realize that my skin is turning grey. almost like....stone. The realization hits me like a ton of bricks as I know what she's doing to me. She's turning me into a statue. "Please. Don't do this!" I shout while trying to fend off the climbing grey on my skin, slowly making its way to my hips. Now my stomach...my chest...now my neck and shoulders...chin... The last thing I see before being completely turned to stone is a large rainbow hitting the dark blue tyrant and Celestia, princess of the sun, rushing over to my now frozen form. I see Nightmare Moon surrounded by the rainbow beam, the colors swirling around her. Her screams of pain sound throughout the night before she turns to a small ball of light and is shot upwards. The light seems to hit the moon and disappear, a strange shape, almost like a face, taking hold of the moon. "David! David can you hear me!" Celestia shouts into my stone form, slowly getting more and more silent. "David! David! Don't leave me...!" Her voice recedes as does my vision, the image of the Luna I once knew turning into that...THING burnt into my mind's eye for what seems like to be an eternity. "I'm so sorry Luna..." was my final thought as my consciousness finally escaped me, leaving behind a hollow stone shell. ~TIME LAPSE : 999 YEARS, 11 MONTHS, 27 DAYS,23 HOURS,59 MINUTES ~ 1 DAY UNTIL SUMMER SUN CELEBRATION~ A lone alicorn with a pristine white coat sat on her throne, her ti-dye mane flowing in the non-exsistant breeze behind her as a group of six ponies stood before her. One a with a rainbow mane and tail and a cyan coat, one with a purple coat and a dark blue mane and tail accompanied by a pink and purple strip running down them, one an orange mare with a blond mane and tail, another a white mare with elegantly styled main and tail, and a final one with a pink mane and tail that looked as if they were made of cotton candy. "Princess? Whats wrong? Aren't you excited about the summer sun celebration tomorrow?" The cyan mare asked. "Your not caught up with the nightmare moon thing still right?" The purple one asked. "I know she's coming soon, but I think we're going to be safe for now." she stated, flipping her hoof with a dismissing motion. The princess sighed as she stood. "Its nothing, my little ponies. Please return to ponyville and rest up for tomorrow. You might need the rest." She said with a warm smile. The mares nodded and left with small "Goodbyes" and the likes, the purple unicorn giving the alicorn a warm embrace as she passed. Once the group had left, the princess walked back to her throne and sat down, rubbing her temples with her fore hooves. "One day soon my friend. One day soon you and my sister shall return to me...I do hope things go smoothly." She said as she looked out upon her throne room window, the moon high above the sky with a dark image of a face still present. There is a flash of light and the face disappears. "Oh how I hope..." She says with a wistful grimace on her face. ~meanwhile on the moon...~ "Soon my sister! Soon the stars will allow me to escape this damned place and take my sweet revenge! I will get you for this sister! Only one more day of this hell before I am released! You will feel my wrath!" Nightmare moon shouted as she paced back and forth. She turns to a pony made of moon rocks sitting at a table with tea cups made of stone. "But for now its tea time, so you must wait for my revenge." She said with a small smirk. "You were saying?" She said, gesturing towards the stone pony.
