Celestia's sun is rising, creating a lovely scene as the ponies of ponyville begin their day of blissful merriment. We come to find Haytham and the Princess Twilight Sparkle has a nice conversation about the books they have recently read over a breakfast consisting of diced apples and oats. Finishing breakfast Haytham picks up the dishes and begins to clean them.
"Any plans for today?" said Twilight wiping her mouth with a napkin and proceeded to leave her chair, making her way to the sink for a glass of water. Haytham's ears pricked to the sudden muffled sounds coming from the living room before replying while still cleaning the dishes.
"Not really, I was going to give Spike a hoof with the chores, unless you have something else in mind" His focus was more on the continued sounds that were getting louder with each passing second. Placing the dishes on the side to dry, Haytham's conversation with Twilight continued.
"I was going to stay in and read all day, unless you can come up with something interesting to do"
"What is that bloody noise?, is that... Spike?" Thought Haytham turning away from the dishes and rolling down his sleeves. Looking out at the doorway blanking everything else out of his world, causing Twilight to become rather agitated by his rudeness.
"Haytham!" Shouted Twilight who had crossed arms, showing a sour expression. Haytham was snapped out of his concentrated day dream.
"Huh, oh sorry Twilight, but look if we are going to go back and forth with this conversation I would rather end it than continue its pointlessness" He briefly looked over to Twilight who was still showing her sour expression. He showed very little interest in her.
Twilight sighs " Fine, but if you're going to blank out be sure to end the conversation you are in, otherwise you aren't going to have very many ponies to talk to"
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be sure to do that" Saying this rather vaguely, Haytham pushes himself off of the counter he was leaning on and leaves the kitchen. Upon entering the living room Haytham instantly discovered the cause of the noise, it was Spike who was rolling on the floor in pain holding his stomach, moaning and groaning.
"Oh, I don't feel so good" Groaned Spike as he looked up at Haytham, who was smiling with pleasure.
"Sweet Celestia Spike you look horrible... Did you drink my whiskey?" said Haytham with a light-hearted tone in is voice.
"Uuuh, nooo I didn't it just started to happen, I think-" Before he could finish his sentence Spike burped up a cloud of smoke which had taken the form into a letter, bearing a symbol similar to Haytham's cutie mark.
"Ah, that's better" Picking up the letter from the cold, hard ground, Spike then presented it to Haytham. "It's for you Haytham, and it looks really important" Haytham takes the letter from his clasped claw.
"Cheers mate, it's probably an update for my duties to Princess Sparkle" Breaking the seal Haytham read the letter out loud quoting the letter word for word.
"By order of Princess Celestia you Haytham Hemingway are to guard and serve the Princess Cadence MI Amore Cadenza for a whole week. While Shining Armour is away on crystal empire business, your duties are to begin the day you receive this letter. And remember an order from Princess Cadence is an order from Princess Celestia herself, follow them to the letter" Ending his sentence Haytham looks over to Spike who was smiling from ear to ear.
"Why are you so happy I'm the one who's going" Saying this Twilight then entered the living room while Spike continued his moronic grinning.
"Did I hear right, you have to guard Cadence?" Exclaimed Twilight who was confused by the idea.
"Only for a week, so there is no need to force any plans. I'm sorry, but I will have to catch up on my chores when I return" Haytham rolled up the letter and placed it in the right pocket of his jacket.
"That's perfectly fine, I just don't understand why Celestia would ask you to guard Cadence" Twilight sat on a nearby chair trying to come up with a reason as to why they would need Haytham.
"It doesn't have to make sense, an order is an order, no questions asked" Haytham made his way to his bedroom to begin packing for his long stay.

We come to find Haytham riding on a train. Wearing long, sleek black trousers, smart, no-nonsense black shoes along with a white buttoned shirt, black vest and a dashing black tailcoat. Haytham is reading a book with one hand, while the other is resting on the pommel of his sheathed sword (hoping it would be enough to keep other ponies away from him). When a voice called out to the passengers of the train.
"Next stop the Crystal Empire I repeat next stop the Crystal Empire. All passengers, please remember to collect luggage for it will be disposed of if not accompanied by the rightful owner thank you" A crackle sounded at the end of the of the announcer's sentence.
"Thank Celestia, I thought this train ride would never end!" Shouted Haytham as he stood up and gathered his things.
Haytham held onto a bar as the train came to a screeching stop. The doors flung open as ponies began to pour out, all of which were tourists coming to see the infamous Crystal Empire and its crystal citizens. When all the ponies had left the station only two were left, Haytham who was stretching due to his long journey. And non-other than Shining Armour himself coming to greet his old friend.
"Wow Haytham it's been a while, how have you been? Said Shining Armour, holding his arms out wide as he approached Haytham who was still stretching. Haytham finished his stretching and stopped Shining Armour's advancement for a brotherly hug by instead offering a cold distant hand shake.
"It's good to see you again" Said Haytham trying to keep a stern professional air about him seeing as though he is going to protect his friend's wife for a week.
"Ha-ha, Haytham you don't have to be so serious I'm aware of your abilities as a knight for Celestia, speaking of being serious I know dressing up is your thing, but I never would of thought to see you in a tail-coat" Shining Armour chuckled lightly heatedly seeing one of his oldest friends dressed up in such a manner.
Haytham sighed with great dismay "I'm just doing what the letter told me to do and that is to serve the Princess as well as guard her, and the only role I could think of that came close to holding these responsibilities was a butler, uh mister Shining sir" Saying this he clips the scabbard of his sheathed sword to his belt.
"Haytham, I've told you before you can call me Shining or Armour just so long as there are no formalities between us, we're friends after all" The sincerity in Shining Armours voice was not in the slightest bit questionable however it still made Haytham raise an eye brow.
"You consider us to be friends?" Stated Haytham with great optimism in his voice, as he began to walk dragging his small luggage carrier behind him. As Haytham and Shining made their way to the castle their conversation continued.
"Well, yeah, what do you consider us to be?" Shining began to feel as though their entire relationship was one sided, so he decided to clear this mess up and confirm his relationship with the cold shouldered unicorn.
"Friendly rivals, maybe even student and teacher. I mean we did a lot of training together" Haytham kept a laser like focus on the path while his ears pricked to the slightest noises. Trying to end it once and for all Shining could only think of one thing to say to get his friend on the same page as him.
"Well, I think we are friends and I would like you to think so too" Shining Armour expected a negative response and prepared his next argument.
"Okay, if you think of us as friends, then I'm obligated to think so too" Haytham looked up ahead to see how far they were from the castle.

"Yeah, I mean it's not like I hate you or anything and we have fond memories of each other even if they were about us trying to best the other, so the idea of us being friends isn't questionable" Haytham looked over his shoulder and smiled at his friend.

"To be honest she's been taking care of me, helping me adjust to all the ponies in ponyville showing me how fun it is to have friends, well all her friends at least they all say they're my friends, but I'm not sure though" Looking down at the ground he feels a small part of him sink. Shining Armour notices his expression and tries to cheer him up.
"Well, I'm glad you are serving my sister and my wife, I know they will both be taken care of, I mean they couldn't be safer with you around" Shining Armour rested his hand on Haytham's shoulder reassuring him. Haytham smiled once more at his friend when a sudden realization came to mind.
"I've got to ask, why do you need me to guard Cadence anyway? From what I heard she can take care of herself?" He looked right into Shining's eyes as he said this.
"It's just to be safe, after what happened with the queen of the changeling's and her army we figured we can't be too careful" feeling satisfied with his friend's change in mood he removed his hand from Haytham's shoulder and continued to approach the castle.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be at your wedding and prevent everything from happening, but I was on a mission in Saddle Arabia" Haytham steps to one side, allowing a tourist to run by, taking pictures of every little thing.
"It's all alright, no need to apologize" Haytham and Shining walks by the crystal heart. And stop outside a large doorway when two crystal guards opened them wide Haytham leans over to Shining and whispers to him as they walk in.
"Don't worry, I'll treat Cadence like I would with Celestia"
"That's good to hear" they both stop at the end of a large staircase when footsteps are heard echoing throughout the castle. They both look up the stairs to identify the source of the footsteps revealing Cadence, a pink coated mare with a medium sized horn.
The dress she was wearing covered her shoulders almost fully and flows down into a simple round neckline. It's a relaxed fit which covers up her breasts, but does so without making it look awkward or messy. The sleeves are simple, yet elegant. A perfect combination of grace and style.

"You have a good memory, I remember a small part of that summit, you looked so sweet in your little suit, looking so serious it was cute. However, I thought it was strange you having a sword by your side, but now everything makes sense."
"Well, I've got to go take care, and Haytham good luck your Goanna need it." saying this he winks to Haytham, he then hugs and kisses Cadence good bye and waves goodbye to Haytham. Haytham had a confused look on his face.
"What did he mean by that?" thought Haytham as he followed Cadence, who was guiding him to his temporary bed chambers. Haytham tailed Cadence quite closely to ensure he did not get lost. Look around the castle they would pass by a guard every now and then until Cadence came to sudden halt, making Haytham almost bump into the beautiful alicorn princess.
"Here we are, " Cadence presented the doorway to Haytham's bedroom "I will allow you to unpack, when you have I would then like you to prepare some tea and bring it to my room a guard will show you the way"
Haytham placed his luggage carrier to one side, got down on one knee placed his hand over his heart with his head down low, causing his hair to droop of his face, he stated.
"Yes, your highness" rising from his position he brushes his hair back and proceeds into his room. As Cadence walks away, she looks back to Haytham's room and stares for a little while before making her way to her room.

Haytham is guided by a regular guard, Haytham held a silver platter with a china tea pot and an empty matching cup. The guard was a few steps ahead of Haytham, they both shared the same expression, which was emotionless.
The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the empty halls of the castle until they both stopped outside a door, the guard turned around and walked by Haytham feeling that there was no need to say anything. Haytham knocked on the door.
"Your highness as you requested I bring your tea" His voice was monotonous, as he as he waited for a reply.
"Come in!" shouted Cadence, her tone was not filled with anger but sincerity. Doing as he was told he entered the room and closing the door behind him. He then approached Cadence who was on her bed covered with a thin blanket, he placed the silver platter on the night stand beside her Haytham and began to pour the tea.
"Today we have Lady Gray tea, I'm afraid I am not familiar with your preferences and I apologize in advance if the tea is not to your liking" Feeling rather ashamed of himself he hung his head in disappointment for he prided himself in doing a job well done. As she sipped the tea she looked up at Haytham and said.
"Its satisfactory" Keeping her distance from him seeing as their worlds are so far apart servant and royalty.
"Thank you, your majesty"
"That will be all for today, as for tomorrow I would like you to stand guard outside my room when I have awoken, do not let anypony disturb me"
"Yes, your highness" leaving her room, Haytham made way to his room, allowing himself to adjust to his new surroundings, even though it was not that much different to his time spent growing up in Canterlot.
"She is completely different from Celestia and Twilight, guess someponies take their positions more seriously" Entering his room Haytham made preparations for the next day.

"Yes, Princess Cadence?" peaking his head in the door he slowly enters the room once more to find Cadence standing in his shadow.
"I would like you to make some tea and can you bring two cups this time. I trust you know the way to the dining room" patting him on the shoulder, she begins to walk past him before could answer but he still spoke despite her slight rudeness.
"Yes princess, um permission to speak freely?" Turning around to address him, she stops just in the doorway.
"Granted" Cadence eagerly waited for what Haytham had to say to her.
"Who is the second cup for" Said Haytham as he gave Cadence a confused look

Once the guard exited the magnificent bathroom Haytham ran the water and sat down on the edge of the large bath. Reading the letter he ran the water when the tub was filled slightly, he added the bubbles, checking the temperature every so often with his hand.
