Time: Morning.

Weather: Sunny.

Inside the top of the golden tower, a young dragon finished wrapping a birthday gift for one of his friends. The dragon was purple with green scales on the top of his head in the form of a mohawk. He wore a grey hoodie and purple baggy pants. The box was red tied up in gold ribbon. "I'm sure this will be great for Moondancer" he said to himself. He picked up the gift and held it with his purple scaly tail. "Now to find Twilight and go to-" his voice trailed off as a glow of light in the middle of the room grew brighter, before disappearing, leaving behind a strange creature. The creature lost its balance and caught itself with its arms and pushed itself back to its feet. The dragon ran and hid behind a bookshelf and slightly peeked his head around the corner to look at the strange creature.

The creature had dark blue hair that looked messy at the front and covering his right eye. He has blue eyes and a light build. He appears to be at least a foot taller than the young drake and wears clothing similar to someone he closely knows. He had a strage-looking MP3 player attached to a necklace and clip-on headphones wrapped around his ears. The dizziness died down and the creature looked around the room. He pulled a chair to the side of the book cabnet to read one of the books. The dragon focused on the cover of the book on what the creature was reading. It was titled "Predictions and Prophecies."

The dragon lost his balance and knocked over a stack of books, catching the attention of the blue-haired creature. He sat the book on the chair and walked over to the source of the sound.

"Hey, is anyone here?" the creature called out.

"Everypony" the dragon corrected him. He quickly covered his mouth since the creature looked in the dragon's direction.

"Hey, can you come here?" he asked the voice across the room "I need to know where and when I am."

"Oh" the young drake walked out from hiding, revealing himself to the creature "You're in Equestria. More specifically, the Canterlot Library."

The creature froze in place for a second, looking at the young dragon. "What are you?" he asked.

"I should be asking the same question."

"I'm a Human."

"You look like a hairless ape."

"And you look like a lizard."

"I'm a young dragon, thank you."

"Then refer to my species as Human, thank you."

"Touche."

"What's your name?" the human asked the young drake.

"My name's Spike, what's your's?"

The human remembered the name Igor called him before he was sent to Equestria. "My name is Minato Arisato" he said "You can just call me Minato."

"That sounds like an interesting name. By the way, what was with the lightshow?"

"I opened a door and saw a bright light."

"Just like that?"

Minato stood there, silent for a moment before answering Spike's question "Yeah." He stared at the present sitting on the table next to them. "Hey, is it someone...somepony's birthday today?"

"Yeah, it's a gift for Moondancer. She's a close friend of my caretaker, Twilight Sparkle. Oh! That's reminds me; I got to remind her that it's her birthday today!"

Spike picked up the present and held with his tail. He ran across the room toward the exit with Minato following behind him. As he was near the door, it swung open, throwing the dragon on his back, crushing the present. A lavender unicorn dashed into the room with a panicked look on her face. Her eyes are lavender with dark blue hair with a purple and pink highlight. She wears a light blue button-up blouse and a purple skirt with purple boots and pink knee-high socks.

"There you are Spike!" she uttered, dashing up the stairs to the main room not noticing the alien she ran past.

"Quick, find me that old copy of 'Predictions and Prophecies'" she ordered the young drake while she was rummaging through the rows of books on the shelf. Spike waddled over to her tiredly, pulling the smashed present off the end of his tail. She noticed the ruined gift in his hands and questions it. "Well..." he began to explain "It was a gift for Moondancer, but..."

"Spike" she interrupted him "You know we don't have time for that sort of thing." Her eyes grew wide and she spun around to look at the Human. "Whoa! What the hay are you!?" she yelled.

"Calm down, Twilight; he's just here because of a teleporting spell backfiring. He's a human named-"

"Arisato. Minato Arisato" he said, bowing.

"Twilight Sparkle. Mr. Arisato, can you help Spike find that book please? I would appreciate it if...wait! Here it is!" she picked up the dark blue book on an adjacent chair and flipped through the pages. "Aha!" she shouted. She read the description out loud: "The Mare in the Moon: Myth from olden pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria. Defeated by Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the 1,000th year, the stars will aid in her escape and she will bring about eternal night time." She gasped at the last sentence "Spike! Minato! Do you know what this means?"

"The Heartless" Minato said to himself.

"Spike, take a note please, to the princess" she asked the young dragon, who already had a piece of paper and a quill dipped in ink at ready. He began to write down what she was saying: "My Dearest Teacher, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the threshold of disaster. For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon, is in fact, Nightmare Moon and she's about to return to Equestria and bring with her eternal night. Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle."

When she was done speaking, he wrapped the piece of paper up and blew a stream of green fire over it, disappearing in a puff of smoke tailing through the wall.

"So, Miss Sparkle" Minato spoke "Do you think this Princess Celestia will be able to handle this when the first day of summer is the day after tomorrow?"

"Just call me Twilight. The day after tomorrow is the 1,000th year of the Summer Sun Celebration. It's important that we need to let her know of this."

"You shouldn't count your chickens before they hatch."

"I'm not worried; the Princess trusts me completely. In all the years she's been my mentor, she never once doubted me."

Minato heard a grumbling sound come from Spike. "You alright?" he asked. The dragon let out a loud belch and a stream of magical smoke flew out and materializes into a sheet of paper. "Now that's cool" he commented. Spike held the paper in his hands and read it out loud to Twilight "My dearest, most faithful student, Twilight, you know that I value your diligence and I trust you completely, but you must simply must stop reading those dusty old books."

Twilight gasped at the last part of the note. Spike read the next part of the note on the other side of the paper: "My dear Twilight, there is more to a Pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. This year's location is Ponyville and there is one personal request by me to you: make some friends." She looked angry at the fact that her mentor, the ruler of Equestria doesn't believe her. "So, are we ready to go?" Minato asked the furious Unicorn. She sighed "Very well."

(Stop Music)

As they were walking through the streets, they passed by various ponies, mostly Unicorns, dressed very formally and fancy. Minato kept his hands in his pockets following Twilight and Spike without a sound. He heard many gasps and whispers come from the uptight rich folk, shocked at whatever he is. "Don't get discouraged by them, they always look at those who aren't Ponies or Unicorns with distaste" Twilight reassured the skeptical human. "Racists" he scoffed. He decided to change the subject "So what kind of vehicles do you Ponies have in Equestria?"

"We have chariots and trains" she said "Celestia did arrange one for me and Spike. You're more than welcome to come with us to Ponyville."

"Thank you."

They made it across the city and to a landing strip with a golden chariot with two pegasai standing there attached to reins. They climbed inside with Minato sitting in the middle with Spike on his left side and Twilight on his right. The two pegasai flapped their wings, shooting the chariot off the ground and into the clouds. Sweat begain to drip down his face and he shut his eyes tight. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Is it too late to say that I'm not a fan of heights?"
