Chapters "Ugh! Where is it?" Rainbow complained. It had two days since Twilight ordered the new Daring Do series and a day since Rainbow decided to camp in the library to wait for them, even though it wasn't a easy task for Rainbow.
"I told you, Rainbow." "They wouldn't be here for 3 more days!" Twilight never accepted the fact that Rainbow decided to wait for the books, in her home.
"Well, I have nothing else to do, Twilight." "So, why don't you just leave me alone?" As the 2 mares argued for hours, Shooting Star, a generally nice pony with a body of a mare, but the voice of a stallion, heard the commotion and waltzed right in the library and caught the mares arguing on one side with a cowering Spike in the corner. He trotted over to him and began to comfort the crying dragon.
"Are you ok?" Shooting asked. Spike stopped his crying and looked up to see a pony with a gray coat, blue eyes, blue mane and tail, along with a blue jacket. Spike wondered about him and started to chat with him and was quick to become friends with the strange pony. Shooting was happy to have a friend and he also chatted with Spike. At one point in time, Spike asked Shooting a unusual question.
"Are you a fan of zombies?" Spike had to ask him that and he mentally slapped himself for saying that.
"Of course, I am!" "Who isn't?" Shooting replied
"Well, I have always wanted for some zombies to come, but it will never happen." After conversing with Shooting for an hour, Spike was getting tired, but he kept going until Shooting fell asleep. Looking around, Spike noticed that Rainbow and Twilight had fallen asleep. Not wanting to move, Spike snuggled against Shooting and he also drifted to sleep.
Spike woke up to the sound of moans and screams. Struggling to move his body, Spike turned towards the clock to check the time. To his surprise, the clock stopped, but it read 3:05 AM. They were asleep for 2 hours. Now, he had to figure why all of Ponyville was awake. Still tired, he stood up and stumbled towards the window to see ponies panicking and strange, bipedal monsters running around trying to catch some of the panicking ponies. There was blood splats everywhere and body parts were laid out on the ground. It looked like a massive homicide. Spike turned his attention to the multitude of strange creatures running around. The monsters were about the same height as Princess Celestia and had blood running down their chins. Spike watched as one of the beasts caught a pony and started to eat her. Blood was everywhere and the pony's screams soon died as the monster had eaten the life out of her. Spike noticed that Twilight was waking up and so was Dash and Shooting. Fearing the animals were attached to sound, he had to make a quick move to silence them. "Spike, what is goi...?" Twilight couldn't finish her sentence as a claw clasped over her muzzle. Twilight then heard moans and yelling outside the door. Shooting, remembering the zombie discussion, trotted to the window and chaos. One of the beasts turned towards the window and, with its glowing blue eyes, stared at Shooting. The beast then stood up and charged at the window. With quick reflexes, Shooting closed the window before the monster grabbed him.
"Ok, we need to be quiet and wait for the noise to die down." Spike cringed as he remembered the pony being eaten alive. He remembered that this is what he wanted, so he will make this right.
"Alright, we can do that." Dash replied.
As the squad exited the library and stepped into the nightmare, they heard a voice that had a Gemane accent to it.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" "VETCH ME THEIR SOULS!"
As the squad heard moans and screams, they turned to see a mass of beasts charging towards them, so they turned and ran. As they ran, Spike heard the same voice and seemed to talk to him.
"ROUND VONE!" "HAHAHAHAHA!"
Shooting turned to Twilight and asked a question that began his spiral into insanity.
"Is this a game or real life?"
"ROUND VONE" "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" As the demonic voice left Spike's head, he began to wonder who it was. Turning around to see how close the monsters were, he was surprised to see none.
"Hey Twilight, I think they've.." Spike turned and was horrified. He saw no Twilight, no Rainbow, and no Shooting. Spike realized he was all alone. As he started to look for his missing friends, he quickly felt tired for no reason.
"TIME FOR YOU TO VALL ASLEEP, HAHAHA!" The demonic voice returned and Spike was determined to find Twilight.
"I will not fall aslee...." Spike couldn't finish as he passed out.
Spike woke up and found himself on the ground. "Oh, it was all a dream." As he got up, he noticed some differences on his body. For starters, he was wearing clothes that looked nothing like what he would expect. To his right, he had a hilt which contained a sword and to his left, he had a pocket which carried something metal. His curiosity getting the better of him, Spike pulled it out and examined the alien device. It was in a "L" shape and resembled nothing like he had ever seen before. Looking up, he saw the three ponies he was looking for.
"Spike, you're alive!" yelled a surprised Rainbow. Twilight, however, was in a different state than her friend. Filled with joy, she galloped to the little drake and fell into a hug.
"Spike, you're still alive."
"Of course I am, Twilight." "Nothing can keep me down, and what are you wearing?"
Confused with his question, Twilight examined her body and discovered what Spike meant. She was wearing a hood and cloak which covered half of her body and a large bag on her back. Twilight turned to find Rainbow and Shooting examining their own bodies as well. Shooting was wearing a hat with a uniform with a symbol with red, white, and black coloring. Rainbow had a marine green uniform and a symbol of a banner with red, white, and blue coloring. Spike continued his own examination. He had a cap with a star and a dark blue and maroon red uniform. An hour later, Spike and his friends walked/trotted through the remains of Ponyville. Most of the buildings were destroyed and the remaining were covered with blood. The demonic voice returned once more with a surprise. "AH!" "I SEE THAT YOU STILL ALIVE." "THAT IS NOTHING NEW." "ANYWAY, I HAVE A PRESENT FOR YOU." "IT'S PUPPIES AND SOME ZOMBIES." "BYE!" The voice trailed off as undead dog-like creatures and hordes of undead arose from the ground. Spike knew they were in for a fight as the ponies each had the same weapon ,as they previously discovered, with them as well. Training the weapons at the hordes, the group fired off shots as the zombies stumbled closer and closer. Spike took notice of one particular close zombie and fired on it. Spike missed the zombie by 2 inches. One of the undead screamed and charged towards the group, causing the rest to do the same. Spike realized he had hit that zombie and must have angered it.
"RUN!!!" Spike was quick to react and he led his friends through an opening where the zombies were spread out. As Spike and his friends ran for their lives, Rainbow turned and saw a switch in the distance with a hoof attached to it. Slowing down, Dash paused as she figured out how to use it. Cringing at the sight of the hoof, she decided to move it up. Flying to it, she flicked it up. Lights lite up Ponyville and new machines appeared out of thin air. Flying back to the group, Rainbow was proud of what she had done.
"At least we can see where we are, now." After receiving death stares from the others, she and the others heard screams and turned. They watched in horror as more zombies out of the ground. Spike was even more determined to keep his friends alive.
"Come get some, meat sacks."
It has been one week since the zombies turned Ponyville into a death trap. During the entire time, Spike and his friends had killing the zombies one by one and have physically and mentally changed since the outbreak. Rainbow became more aggressive and started cussing. Twilight started keeping books with her in a little sack and thinks she was married. Shooting dropped into insanity and enjoys killing the undead and seeing blood spray everywhere. Spike took a turn and promised to keep his friends and his honor safe. After clearing Sugarcube Corner free of zombies, the demonic voice returned once again. "VHAT!" "HOV ARE YOU DUMBKOFFS STILL ALIVE?" "IT DOES NOT MATTER." "VHAT DOES MATTER IS YOUR DEATH!" "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" It was quite clear to the survivors that the demon{as they thought it was}was trying to kill them.
"Well, it will take more than a few zombies to take me down, you motherfucker!" Rainbow's aggressiveness was now first seen by the others as they began to wonder how to stop her.
"We could kill her and be done with her forever." Shooting offered. Resisting multiple urges to punch Shooting in the face, Spike asked Dash to come down and talk with him. They had an hour between each wave of undead to discuss issues between them.
"Dash, don't you think you have a little mad since this whole thing started?" questioned Spike.
"No, I have not!" replied a anger Rainbow. "I don't need none of you, fag...." She was stopped mid-sentence as Twilight knocked her down with the Colt{which they discovered earlier}.
"We need each other, Dash." Twilight was sure Rainbow was upset due to the fact that most of her friends were dead. Rainbow was about to react when the voice with news.
"VELL, IT SEEMS THAT I CAN'T KILL YOU DIRECTLY, SO I VILL FIND A VAY TO DESTROY YOUR PRECIOUS LIVES!" "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" The voice returned just to say "ROUND TEN." The undead quickly rose out of the ground and through the rubble of destroyed buildings. Just as the undead charged at the group, an electric shock was heard and a lighting bolt passed through each of the zombies, somehow missing the survivors.
"What the hell was that, Twilight?" questioned a confused Rainbow. Twilight was equally confused and was about question life when she heard a familiar voice.
"AH GOT THEM!" Twilight stood and she with the remainder of her friends approached the voice when it spoke once more. "You can not kill the undead by just still, Twi." Twilight immediately recognized the voice as somepony she thought died long ago.
"Applejack?"
"Yes, Twi." "It is me." Twilight could believe it. Applejack was still alive! As Twilight approached to hug her lost friend, a blur passed her and shot into Applejack. It was Rainbow, hugging her rival and friend. "Rainbow, what in tarnation are you doing?"
"Hugging my friend, that's what." As the friends backed off, Twilight asked Applejack how is she still alive.
"Well, Ah have to admit, Ah did not know what Ah was doing, so, three days ago, Ah went outside and Ah found something horrid."
"What, what was it?"
"Rarity and Fluttershy are dead." At the sound of their friends' demise, Twilight started crying while Rainbow just stared. "Ah found them, Rarity against a tree, Flutters on the ground." "It was awful, they will ripped apart as they, seemed to, try to make it to mah barn." "Ah'm sorry, Twilight." Twilight stopped her crying and looked at Applejack with tear-filled eyes.
"Did they..?"
"No, Ah stuck a knife in their heads, so they didn't." Twilight was pleased that her friends were in a better place.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" Turning to see what Shooting was looking and they gasped in horror. It was Pinkie Pie, but she was different.
"Hi." "I can not believe you left me to die." She said as she pointed a machete towards the group. "So, somepony will die at my hooves."
Pinkie Pie stood still as a shot was heard and blood fell everywhere. She dropped to the ground with blood dripping out of her mouth and down her side. She laid there, dead. The group stared at her corpse in shock and fear. The first to react was Spike. "What?" Hearing a stick break, he turned around, seeing that Shooting was gone. Another shot was heard as Rainbow dropped to the ground, blood spewing out from the side of her head. Hearing insane laughter, Spike turned to the right to see Shooting standing there with an insane look in his eyes. His gray coat was covered in blood and he held a Colt trained towards the three survivors. Shooting spoke with a murderous tone.
"You know, enjoying death is honestly quite relaxing, so, I found a way to do that." Twilight and AJ was in shock as they stared at the murderous pony. "By getting rid of...." He was cut off as a horde of undead charged in and caught an unsuspecting Shooting. They torn into him, blood spewing everywhere and bodily organs were either dropped to the ground or devoured. Many more zombies rushed in, their blue eyes trained on Shooting, but most were trained on Twilight, AJ, and Spike. Realizing the situation they were in, the remaining survivors booked it, but not before one of them caught AJ. "GO, RUN!" Twilight watched in horror as her last friend was taken from her.
"Come on, Twilight." "Let's go." The two left the infected Ponyville and move towards the Everfree Forest, hoping to find refugee from the undead. "Well, nothing in there can be worse than what in Ponyville, right?" questioned Spike. The two entered the Everfree and found it was peaceful. Nothing was trying to kill them. It was just simply peaceful. The two had been walking for a day, now. Twilight was in the lead as she knew where to go. An hour later, they arrived at Zecora's. Knocking on the door, Twilight waited for the zebra to come and answer. Eventually, she did come, but she seemed different.
"I'm sorry, my friends, but, I was working on something important."
"Zecora, why aren't you talking in rhymes?" asked Twilight
"I found there was no need for it."
Zecora let them in her hut and they were horrified at what they saw. Three zombies were chained up with potions and chemicals near them.
"I, myself, am trying to find a cure for the virus and it wasn't until today that I realized they were being controlled." Zecora said this as she pointed to the undead, struggling to break free.
"We already knew this, Zecora, but, who is controlling them?!" Twilight said with anger and fear mixed in.
"A being from another world who calls themselves human is controlling them."
"Does it have a name?" asked Spike.
"Yes, his name is Dr. Edward Richtofen."
"What does he want with us?" questioned Twilight.
"To take over the world with the undead." Just as Zecora said this, the chained zombies broke free and caught Zecora by surprise, tearing into her. "GO, MY FRIENDS, RUN!"
It had been two days since Zecora died and a day since Twilight drowned in a river trying to run from a horde. Spike was all alone and upset that his friends died. Stopping to take a break, he took out his Colt and stared at it. Spike made a big decision. bringing the weapon up to his head, Spike closed his eyes....and pulled the trigger.
Spike woke up, sweating. Looking around, he saw that he was home and Twilight was in the corner, reading. "Twilight, what happened?" He innocently asked.
"You fell asleep next to Shooting and had a nightmare, so, I moved you to your bed."
Spike realized it was all a dream and nopony died. He quietly laid back, closed his eyes, and went back to sleep. In his dreamland, a voice talked to him and it sounded nice at first, but, turned demonic instantly.
"AH!" "YOU LIVED, BUT, YOU HAVE VON THIS TIME, BUT, I VILL KILL YOU." Spike opened his eyes in fright and knew this was not over.
As Richtofen exited the teleporter, his three "allies" were there, waiting for him.
"Richtofen, man!" "You were in there for a damn long time!" exclaimed Dempsey as the German stepped onto the mainframe.
"Did you see anything different?" asked Takeo as Richtofen brushed himself off.
"Did you get any vodka?" questioned a sobering Nikokai as Richtofen straightened his hat.
"ALL RIGHT!" "No, I did not see anything nev or different." replied the Doctor. "But, I do recall entering a vorld overrun vith the undead." The Doctor knew that he had supreme control over the world and nothing will him from having total control. "Shall ve clear the zombies out?"
"Fuck yeah, let's do it!" replied a excited Dempsey.
"Takeo's honor will improve tenfold." said the honorable Japanese.
"I will, as long as they have vodka." the drunk Russian said.
"Yes, ve shall." said Rictofen as the others stepped into the teleporter. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into.
"RIChTOFEN, HURRY UP!" yelled an impatient Marine.
"Soon, you vill all meet your demise." "HAHAHA, AH!" replied the insane doctor as he stepped into the teleporter, waiting to gain control over the undead.
