Chapters Lyra woke up in her Canterlot house one spring day, April fourteenth, to be exact. She went downstairs, greeted her roommate, Bon Bon, and ate breakfast.
"So, Bon, how's the shop been going lately?" the mint green mare asked her cream colored friend, who was eating a bowl of oats.
"Oh, same as usual. Not any better than when you asked me yesterday, Lyra. You getting any luck working the musical group?" she asked.
"Well, we got a gig at this filly's birthday party downtown. I believe her name is Pink Pearl or something. Has Celestia given you anymore assignments since the Bug Bear attack in Ponyville a few weeks back?"
"Nah. Like I said, since the Elements of Harmony came back and Nightmare Moon was destroyed, we haven't had much to do. The occasional spy group is sent out to see if any enemy nations try to attack, but otherwise, the agency has been dormant for a whi-" she stopped at the sound of the doorbell. "I'll get it Bon," said Lyra, shoving a last piece of toast in her mouth as she got up to get the door.
The pony had started knocking, quickly shortening time between their knocks. Lyra thought to herself, "Jeez, some pony's impatient."
"Lyra! So nice to see you again!" the purple alicorn said, a baby dragon on her back. She was sweating, so Lyra assumed she was either flying or running.
"Oh, hey Twilight! What's up?" asked Lyra, who was inviting the princess inside.
"Nothing much, besides becoming, well, you know," Twilight said, flapping her wings slightly.
"Yeah. So, what brings you here?" Lyra asked. The two were entering the dining area. Bon Bon was cleaning dishes when she turned to see the two old friends walk in.
Twilight and Lyra took a seat at the table the roommates were previously sitting at. Bon Bon offered Twilight some oats or toast, but she simply declined the offer. "No thank you, but thanks for the offer Miss Sweetydrops."
"You don't have to call me Sweetydrops, Twilight. I've grown accustomed to being called Bon Bon," the cream pony said. She turned and continued to wash dishes. The dragon, named Spike, offered to help her, and the two were teaming up to put dishes in the dishwasher and hoof washing those dishes that were too big. Twilight and Lyra started to chat, taking turns telling stories about all the things that had happened since they had last talked.
It wasn't very long until the two started to talk about magic and trips they had made. This was where Lyra heard something that caught her attention.

A few things you should know before you give me any feedback! I am literally improvising this story, and most other stories I write. If there are plot holes, I will re-read the story multiple times, and when I see the issues, I'll fix them as I go. Feel free to point out anything I may miss, though!
"Woah woah woah, hold it there Twi! You went to a high school...with HUMANS!" Lyra exclaimed excitedly.
"Well, yes, Lyra. I did! I also saw you! She couldn't shut up about unicorns for some odd reason. But I couldn't hang out with her for long since I had other matters to attend to, like saving their world from this power hungry unicorn, Sunset Shimmer, and these sirens, The Dazzlings. Before I left, though, I talked to her about Equestria. She was ecstatic! She begged and begged to take her with me, but I declined," Twilight said, putting emphasis in the word 'begged' each time.
Lyra muttered something like, "I have to go there," to herself, then Twilight said, "Did you say something Lyra?"
"Oh, um, n-no. Nothing Twilight. Just contemplating something to myself," said Lyra nervously.
"Ooookay. Anyways, mind playing me a little something on your lyre, Ms. Heartstrings?" asked Twilight quite formally.
"Sure, what would you like to hear?" asked Lyra levitating her lyre.
"A little Mozart perhaps? Or Drewery François?" suggested the purple alicorn. Twilight adored French music as much as she enjoyed learning a new spell. Drewery François was her favorite of all the French musicians.
"Drewery fan, are we?" asked Lyra, a hint of sarcasm and excitement in her voice. "Let's see what I can do."
Lyra then played a beautiful piece from François himself, a more famous one titled "Le Musique De La France" and Twilight applauded. She spoke up and said, "That is the most beautiful playing I've ever heard Lyra! I must ask, how do you do that with your magic?" She pointed to the orange-ish gold magical aura surrounding the lyre, and the strange magical shape that Lyra was using to pluck the strings. Twilight then recognized the shape to be a hand.
"Oh, I don't know how I do that. I just don't imagine using telepathic magic to pluck the strings, rather I think that the proper way to play the lyre is to pluck each one with some form of physical entity. The entity I prefer to use and what I find most efficient is opposable appendages, otherwise known as fingers on a hand. I've used the technique since I was a foal, and I can't remember exactly how or why I chose to play this way instead of the way any other unicorn musician would," explained Lyra as she set her lyre back in its case. "Anyways, do you really mean it when you say that it's the most beautiful playing you've heard?"
"Yes, I really mean it Lyra. I also can't help but notice that you said that you prefer to pluck the strings with a more physical magical entity rather than the usual telepathic one that most unicorns would use, as well as choosing a specific entity that you referred to as a hand. Why did you choose that specifically?" asked Twilight, seeming to make a connection between the Lyra from CHS and the Lyra in front of her.
"Well, before I discovered my natural talent, I read a book of mares tales and something about the passage on humans caught my eye. I read that passage over and over again until I practically recite it word for word on my own. I then researched and read everything I could find on it! I read about their hands and how they used them to do nearly everything we ponies can do without using magic or wings. I wanted to imitate that efficiency whenever I could. When you mentioned that you had been there before, my mind went racing! I doubt you'd let me go there, though. I mean, having two of me in one place at once would definitely cause some confusion, or worse!" Lyra said, choking up at the last few words. She really wanted to see the human world, but obviously understood what disasters she would possibly cause. This made Twilight upset knowing that she can't let one of her friend's dreams come true with it being so close to her grasp.
"Tell you what Lyra. I'll take you to the mirror to let you see Canterlot High for a few minutes tomorrow, alright?" asked Twilight, trying to make Lyra feel a little better. Lyra grinned, a tear streaking down her face, and nodded. "That...that'd be great," said the mint green unicorn, happiness filling her voice. She reached over and hugged Twilight. Twilight hesitated for a second, but gave in and hugged Lyra back.
"Lyra?"
"Yes Twilight?"
"Your crushing me now," said Twilight, her face a slightly darker shade of purple than usual.
"Sorry!" Lyra said a little worried. She quickly let go of her alicorn friend and asked if she was alright.
"I'm fine. I'm fine, Lyra," said Twilight, taking in some deep breaths.
"So, what time will you be coming tomorrow, Twi?" asked Lyra, relieved that Twilight was alright.
"How's noon?" Twilight suggested, her breathing slowing down and growing smaller as she regained her usual orchid purple tone. Lyra smiled and nodded in agreement. "Noon it is Twilight."
The two shook hooves as Bon Bon walked in with Spike. "Noon it is what?" asked the cream colored earth pony, oblivious to the conversation the two mares had had over the past fifteen minutes. Twilight and Lyra exchanged glances, smiled, and took turns explaining the conversation they had just finished.

Hello again! I sincerely hope you all are enjoying this story so far. I am a little weak in timing so I apologize if the timing of this chapter is a little wonky. I hope you can forgive grammatical errors or improper word usage at all cause y'know, autocorrect just jacks up everything sometimes, but it can really help me sometimes with the amount of typos I make when I type really fast. XD I do have some more stories in the making, one being "A Killers Mind" and another (which was taken down for a bit due to some difficulties) called "The Story of 3 Hearts". I also have a few others in the works, but those are the ones I'm focusing on most as well as this one. Bear with me as I write these, please. Thanks!
Lyra woke up unusually early the next morning, obviously excited about the trip to Canterlot High! It was at this moment she realized something.
"Wait, I need a disguise!" Lyra screamed, which woke up her roommate.
"Lyra? Why are you up so early? It's seven in the morning," said Bon Bon, her blue and pink mane ruffled and messy.
"Remember? Twilight's taking me to the portal!" Lyra said, looking through various drawers to find a bottle of temporary hair dye. "Found ya!" she said, holding up a can of spray-on pink and purple wash out hair dye she used for a Nightmare Night costume the previous year.
"So, why do you need the pink hairspray? Aren't you only going for a few minutes during their lunch break?"
"I am not taking chances Bonny! If my human self sees me who knows what chaos will be thrown in their world!"
"Ok ok...and don't call me 'Bonny', Lyra. It makes me feel weird..." Bon Bon said, a hint of pink escaping to her cheeks and muzzle. Lyra giggled slightly, catching her friend's attention. Oh how she though it was adorable how red her face would get sometimes!
"What? Is there something on my face!" Bon quickly rushed to the vanity Lyra had occupied whilst she spray dyed her mane and tail in the florecent pink color. "Hey! Bon, watch it! I nearly got it in my eye!" Lyra snapped, her forehead now a neon pink.
"I'm so sorry Lyra! I wasn't paying any-"
"It's ok Bon. I was just teasin ya!" Lyra said, playfully punching her friend's arm.
"Lyra? Can I maybe say something?" Bon Bon said, her pinkish glow returned to her cream colored cheeks.
"Yessss?" Lyra said, intrigued by this new sensation that filled the two mares.
"Um, ya see Lyra...I'm not sure if you roll that way, but maybe I could...we could..."
"I'd love to," said Lyra, crying tears of joy that her friend felt the same way she did. It was the best day of her entire life! She got a mare friend and was about to see a world she fantasizes about since she was a young filly in magic kindergarden!
"Oh goodness, I thought you were straight! But, can you keep this between us though? I don't want anypony spreading any rumors about lesbians running through Canterlot and Ponyville together! And I'm not sure how Celestia would take it if one of her top agents was a...yea..." Bon Bon stated, shuffling her hooves.
"Alright...I won't tell. Can't I just tell Lemon Drops or Minuette! Maybe Twinkle Shine! Please Bonny!" Lyra begged, wanting desperately to tell her oldest friends about the occasion.
"Lyra? What did I just say?"
"Not to tell anypony..." Lyra said, her now pink mane covering her golden eyes.
"Good, now lemme fix you up so your unrecognizable to the other me and you."

After a good half hour, Lyra had brown contacts in, makeup over her cutiemark with a new one representing a simple eighth rest and a peppermint candy cane behind it. Bon Bon asked her for her name.
"Peppermint Song!" Lyra said as if she was a veteran being asked a question by the general.
"I think you are ready to go Ly-Peppermint!" Bon said, hugging her new mare friend. The two stood in silence for what felt like ages!
"Um, you want breakfast before you go?" Bon asked her.
"Oh right, yes. Of course! But I need room to try the human lunch food!" Lyra said, snapping back to reality.
"Alright, one egg and a price of toast sound good to you?"
"Yea, thanks Bon."
Twilight came to the house that Lyra and Bon Bon resided and took a deep breath. She could smell toast, eggs, and cooked oats coming from inside the house.
"Twilight?"
"Yes Spike?" replied the princess, looking to her baby dragon friend.
"Don't you think you're a little...er...early to be picking up Lyra?" Spike said.
"Oh Spike! I said I'd take her to the mirror at noon! That doesn't mean we can't hang out for an hour or two before we go!" Twilight said, petting Spike's scaly head.
"Twi! Stop! You're messing up my scales! I gotta big day planned for me and Rarity today and I don't want my head to be a wreck!" Spike said, pushing Twilight's hoof away from his head and fixing his spikes atop his head.
"Oh right! Sorry Spike! I'll teleport you back to the castle to get ready for your big day!" Twilight said, her horn starting to glow. "Have fun! And tell Rarity I said hi!"
"I will, I will...now go ahead, send me home! I gotta find my old gala suit to wear!" Spike whined, his legs stomping the ground furiously as if he was doing a mini run in place.
"Good luck Spike!" Twilight said as she poofed her little dragon assistant away back to Ponyville. "Alright, got him on his date with Rarity, now to get Lyra to see the human world like I promised her...what if she disrupts the flow of time! No no, don't be silly! Surely she's disguised! And I can just ask Rarity to get me some clothing to put on her. So long as the other Lyra or Bon Bon doesn't recognize her or see her and they don't touch, they'll be fine, I hope!" Twilight said, knocking on the door as she mumbled her thoughts under her breath.
"Hi Twilight! Come on in! We got breakfast, so help yourself!" Bon said, grinning.
"Woah, oats? And imported from France, too? Royal grade. What's the occasion? Somepony get married or something? Is it a birthday?" Twilight asked, noticing the expensive half empty oat container on the counter. It was labeled 'Celestial Sunrise Breakfast Oats', imported from France as a gift to the royal guard and agency. Bon just kept smiling and said, "Well, can't somepony just fix some good oats without an occasion to celebrate, Twilight?"
"I-I guess so, I just assumed that there was a special even happening to fix such high quality oats like this," Twilight said as her eyes caught sight of a levitating object across the room. The golden aura surrounding it lead it to the bathroom where Lyra was packing anything she may need, including money, extra underwear, her 'products', makeup, and spare contacts.
Twilight trotted to the door and saw a pink haired unicorn with a candy cane an eighth rest cutie mark. She gasped and scared the unicorn, making her drop a box of Q-Tips.
"Lyra Delrose Heartstrings! You look so much different! In a good way, you'll need to look different," Twilight said helping Lyra pick up Q-Tips off the floor and into the trash bin.
"Twilight, you should know not to scare me like that!" Lyra said as she put one last dirty Q-Tip in the bin. Twilight just stared at her friend's new eye color.
"Well! Anything to say?" Lyra said.
"Um...I like your...eyes?" Twilight said, trying to change the subject.
"Oh these? Yea Bon uses these on the job when she needs to disguise herself. It's also semi-prescription, meaning they'll change and adjust to your eyes in the matter of thirty minutes! I didn't think my eyes were so bad before!" Lyra said, chuckling.
"Ooookay...so, has anything important happened lately? I saw Bon Bon fixed expensive oats about a few minutes ago," asked Twilight, still curious about the oats. Lyra blushed a bit behind her pink mane and smiled. "Um...no. Nothing important. Just something we decided to do," replied the red faced unicorn.
"Lyra? Is there something you and Sweetiedrops are not telling me? I'm one of your seat friends beside Bon Bon. You can trust me, can't you?" Twilight said.
"I'm sorry Twi, I just wanna tell you over some breakfast, ok?" Lyra said. "Anyways, where's Spike?"
"Ok ok...and Spike. He's on a date," Twilight said.
"With who!" Lyra said, the red in her face gone and her now deep brown eyes staring into Twilight's purple ones.
"Um...Rarity?" Twilight said, her muzzle just inches away from Lyra's. "Um...Lyra? Can you give me some space? Please?"
"Oh sorry!"

After a couple minutes of chatting in the bathroom and living room, Bon Bon called the two into the kitchen.
"Hey, guys! Breakfast!"
"Coming!!" Lyra yelled as she took off.
"Me too!" Twilight said, flying through the large open doorway. She landed next to Lyra and took a seat.
"Toast and one egg for Ms. Heartstrings and special oats, toast, and two eggs for the princess. Enjoy!" Bon Bon said, adding a French tone to her voice.
"Just so you know, that French accent was cute Bonnie," said Lyra.
"Thanks..." Bon said, pink coming to her cheeks.
"Ok, Lyra, you said that you and Bon Bon both will tell me what's going on here! I demand explanation for this!" Twilight said once Bon say down with a similar plate to Twilight's.
"If you really wanna know what happened...Bonnie and I are...er...." Lyra said, nudging Bon Bon.
"Oh, um...we're kind of a thing as of maybe right in the morning, wasn't it?" Bon said, looking over to Lyra.
"Yea, eight 'o clock! So anyways, if you see us acting a little more 'friendly' around each other, just don't mind it, alright?" Lyra said.
"So...you two are...lesbians?" Twilight asked, cocking her head to the right.
"Yea. That's seems to be the sum of it!" Lyra and Bon Bon said in unison.

"If you see us acting more 'friendly' around each other" YALL GET YO HEADS OUTTA THE GUTTERS! XD I don't mean like doing...that...but like, being a little more flirty, maybe a peck on the cheek or something, but not anything naughty!
Lyra found herself sweaty and shaky. She just couldn't wait to see the humans!
"Lyra, remember what Bonnie told you about your name?" Twilight asked.
"Yes! Peppermint Song!" Lyra said, the two now inside the castle in which the amazing portal was.
"Good, and don't forget it!"
"I won't..mom!" Lyra said, punching Twilight's arm playfully.
"Haha! Ok missy, if you keep that up I'm gonna ground you from the mirror!" Twilight teased back.
"Ok ok! Fine!" Lyra said, giggling.
Once the mares reached the room, Twilight asked Lyra to wait in the portal room until she got back.
"I wonder when Twilight will come back! You know, what with the Friendship Games done now and all," Rainbow Dash stated, nearly forgetting the statue's surface was a portal while she kicked her ball. Fluttershy looked at their world's Twilight and smiled. She was petting Spike who was happily sitting in his owner's lap.
"I don't know sugarcube, but we got our problem solved, didn't we Twi?" Applejack said.
"Yes. And I'm transferring to this school now! I gotta talk to Principle Celestia about this. I'll be back!" Twilight said, but no sooner did the words escape her mouth, someone came through the portal. She stood up quickly, brushing her skirt off.
"I'm so sorry it took me so long! I forgot about the book until today and I had other things to take care of! It was the strangest thing I've seen today!" Twilight said, ramming her words together. She saw the other Twilight standing in front of her. "Um...make that the second strangest thing."
"Oh my goodness. Is this bad?" Fluttershy said, holding Angel in her arms.
"I don't know," the two Twilights said in unison. It sounded like one person!
"Maybe I should see the principle before something else weird happens. Gotta go girls!" human Twilight said as she ran to the school.
"Ok..other me aside for now, Rarity, I need to ask you something," Twilight said.
"Anything, darling!"
"Do you have a spare outfit by chance?"
"Of course I do!" Rarity said, grabbing her clothes rack out of nowhere.
"Alright, hold on, I gotta get something from Equestria!" Twilight said, going back through the portal.
"Lyra! I'm back, come on!" Twilight said, grabbing Lyra's hoof. She pulled her in and they got taken back to Canterlot High.
"I-I-I-uuuuuuum......" Lyra said, looking at the somewhat familiar face of her friend.
"T-Twilight!?"

I'll put the authors note up here. I've been gone for AGES, I know! I've been on Wattpad recently and I've been WAY into Undertale lately (seriously..send help! I'm in the trash can!) you'll notice I've changed quite a lot since I've been here. My writing may be better too and everyone on Wattpad loves it! I'm glad for it! But here, I'm not so certain about it. I mean, the brony community is a very nice and friendly community! I'm just kinda starting to think that no one cares about what I write here. On Wattpad I got way more people there (seriously I got the same number of reads for this story as I do followers on Wattpad...) I'm also afraid I've run out of ideas for the stories I have here. This may be the last you'll see of me for a while, but if you're interested, check out Flutterbat276 on Wattpad! Okay, now that I'm done rambling LETS GET ON WITH THIS STORY!
The New World
"I look great!" Lyra said, admiring her new look. She looked amazing!
"You're very welcome, darling!" Rarity said, admiring her work.
"Now, you think you got walking down, Lyra?" Twilight said.
"I think so," Lyra responded.
"Great! Let's go!" Twilight said, leading Lyra around the school. She stopped and looked in the library to read some human books.
"There's a book store in town. You wanna go there?" Twilight asked. Lyra's face lit up in excitement as she nodded. The two girls walked to the local book store to buy a few books.
"It's a wonder they still take bits here! And this weird paper money too!" Lyra said. Twilight giggled.
"That's called a dollar, Lyra!"
"Oh. I feel stupid," Lyra said. They went into a restaurant and ate. Lyra ordered chicken strips, seeing as how she never had tried them before.
"Wow! These are good!" Lyra exclaimed. Twilight rolled her eyes as she ate her salad.
"Why did you eat meat? You know you'll never be able to again!" Twilight said. Lyra glared at her.
"Because I want to enjoy myself while I'm here!" Lyra said.
"Okay, but you might have some stomach issues when we go home," Twilight warned, taking another bite of salad.
Hang Out at Canterlot Cafe
Lyra and Twilight waved goodbye to Bon as the headed out to the local cafe.
"Need any Marebucks?" Twilight asked at the coffee center.
"Um...sure why not!" Lyra said, following her alicorn friend.
"One double mocha cuppachino and a deluxe expresso, extra foam," asked Twilight, putting ten bits on the counter. The worker gave Twilight a bow and gave the bits back. Twi blushed embarrassed at the reaction, but accepted it as part of her princesshood. "Thanks..."
"Ok, expresso and cuppachino. Anything else for you your majesty?"
"Uhum...just Twilight is fine, but thanks. And no thank you. My friend and I are good," Twilight said, trying to keep a smile on.
"I swear, I'm still not used to this being a princess thing. It's kinda flattering how they all now and let me get free stuff, like this coffee, but I still think that it's unfair. It makes me feel like I'm more important than everypony else when I'm really not any more important as I did before I got my wings," Twilight said, levitating her cappachino.
"I bet, but it's just a part of being royalty. I'm sure you'll get used to it after a while," Lyra said, sipping her expresso. "But hey, free stuff is kinda fun, ain't it?"
"Yea, I guess so. It just makes me feel bad since all I did was be an alicorn to get them. I feel like I should earn the stuff instead of it just be given to me," Twilight said. Her expression was blank mostly, say for a little bit of guilt and wonder.
After a few moments of sipping coffee and chatting back and forth, the two left Marebuck to go to the castle where the mirror was kept.

"Yes Lyra?" Twilight said, helping her friend up. Even though Lyra had read books on how to walk bipedally, she never really got good at it.
"You...you look so...weird!" Lyra said, never expecting humans to retain their pony form color. She looked at her skin and saw she was still mint green-blue. "Darn..." she thought. She looked at the friends gathered about on the blanket she now stood on. "Hello?"
"Um...hello..." Fluttershy spoke.
"Howdy?" said Applejack, unsure.
"Hiya!" Pinkie said, obviously ecstatic.
"Hello?" Rarity managed, confused.
"Hey..." Sunset said, unsure of how to handle the situation.
"What's up!" Rainbow Dash said in her usual cocky tomboyish manner.
"I'm...Peppermint Song. And..."
"Hey gang, this is Lyra, from Equestria. Rarity, can you find an outfit for her, her clothes match the Lyra here," Twilight said, cutting off Lyra's introduction.
"Heavens, darling! That outfit is a fashion hazard with your coiffure! I'll be absolutely glad to take care of this!" Rarity nearly screamed when she noticed the way Lyra's minty outfit clashed with the pink colored hair she had. "In fact, I think I'll fix her skin tone, too!"
"Rarity!" Lyra said as she got dragged away. Within five minutes, Lyra and Rarity came back, with Lyra now being a very light Pinkie Pie pink. She bared a brand new white, grey, and sky blue dress that seemed to match her very essence while still seeming to be a completely different person.
"Wowza!" Pinkie said, beaming with delight.
