chapter 2: spikes new comic

As Spike is at home he still feels upset for his embarrassment in front of hundreds of ponies.

" Man if I could be better I would do anything to become one of the best heroes in all of equestria." Suddenly out of the blue a familiar face comes in.

"D...D...D Discord?!" Discord with a neutral expression speaks up.

" So you want to find a new type of superhero yes? " Spike still upset answers.

" I guess so, but I don't know any other superheroes I can be at all." Discord then thinks very hard and then has an Idea.

" Spike what if you made a comic of a superhero from scratch?"

" It takes days to make a new comic from scratch." Discord chuckles and tells spike.

" Silly you. I can make it quick to your heart's desires." Spike gives Discord an expression of confusion.

" How is this even possible."

" Well do you remember all the power I have in equestria?"

" Oh right now I remember."

" Then lets get started."

Discord gives spike a blank comic book with nothing in it. " Umm Discord there is nothing in it."

" Look closer and you will see it." Spike looks closer, suddenly Discord snaps his finger and spike is teleported inside the comic book.

" Hey let me out of here, I want out this instant! "

" Not until you finish this comic from the start."

" But how can I finish it quick?"

" That's easy with a little magic."

" Fine I'll start." Discord grabs a pencil and paper then begins writing.

" So Spike what are your desires for a great superhero?" Spike The Dragon thinks and has an idea for his hero.

" OK I want him to be strong, fast, invincible, intelligent, brave, and have great power."

" That's very good. Now what costume should he have?"

" Something that shows everypony that he is a true hero. No lame costume."

" OK got that. Now what about his origin."

" He got his powers from an amazing wizard."

" Now lets focus on a team he could have."

" I thought it was focused on one hero."

" C'mon Spike, he can't be alone without a good team to fight with in case things go wrong."

" OK then I will begin. First I want the team to be like the Mane Six."

" The Mane Six?"

" Yes Sir."

" Very well, then I will base them off The Mane Six."

" First I want Twilight to be a magical alicorn with amazing magic. And her costume shows her of how great at magic she is."

" OK then what about Fluttershy?"

" I don't know what to give her."

" What good skills does she have?"

" She is very kind."

" I am talking about something deep inside."

" Well she is a good singer."

" Perfect Spike. And the others."

" I don't have anything for Applejack."

" Can you think of something Spike?"

" Not exactly. All I know much is she likes apples."

" What else does she do?"

" Well she is pretty handy at times."

" That's it. Now what about rarity."

" I want her to have beautiful power."

" Good very good, now lets do rainbow dash."

" I want her to be lightning fast."

" Finally I want pinkie pie."

" She is full of excitement but...."

" Spike I want you to think deep from within."

" Oh right she needs something for a party animal."

" Perfect Spike, now let me make their costumes match their powers and personality."

Discord then finishes up and begins. " Now Spike I want you to reenact what is going on in that comic."

" Yes sir." Discord then snaps his fingers.

chapter 3: a beginning of a hero

As Spike is in his comic he begins narrating.

You may know me as a little boy. Delivers paper, runs errands for somepony, not paid much, awful home, you get the point. But there is a little secret to in which I have hidden from everypony else. I'll tell you about it since it is quite strange. It started when I was just minding my own business then suddenly somepony was walking. he did look very strange. He was wearing a fedora, a coat and sunglasses. I decided to follow him so I could have a story for the daily paper. As I walked with him I found myself in a very unusual train. Few minutes later I arrived at a destination and then the pony told me to "Get Out." As I walked in I noticed some statues that were quite odd. They were 7 elements of unpleasant things no pony must have. There's Revenge, Pride, Laziness, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, and Jealousy. I looked further and noticed a throne with a huge stone block hanging above. Suddenly a wizard appeared.

"Hello there little boy."

"Who are you mister?"

"I am the great Zatara, the elder of true power."

"True power?"

"yes the elder of true power. Power like no other could have in existence."

"So you are the one who stands before me?"

"Yes I am."

"Does anyone else have this type of power?"

"Indeed, but have used it for very foolish things."

"How foolish?"

"Worst than any other pony who tried to take over."

"Is there one who tried to him?"

"I tried to stop him, but have failed many times I tried over and over. So I decided to wait for one special dragon to inherit power like no other." "Who is this dragon to inherit this power."

"You of course."

I was then surprised at what he said. How am I the chosen one to defeat this evil menace. I do not have any experience in fighting for good. but then I decided to accept his request.

"Zatara I shall take your request for me to become one with true power."

"Very well. Let us begin."

Solomon for wisdom

Hercules for strength

Atlas for stamina

Zeus for power

Achilles for courage

Mercury for speed.

Then I was struck by magic, but I felt nothing in me. after that the wizard spoke. "Farewell little dragon." Then he snapped his fingers and the stone block crushed him. At some point after I left I was just minding my own business then suddenly an evil dragon came in and wanted to destroy the city, but then I put a stop to him and took away his life by saying "Shazam." When he grabbed me. Afterward I accepted to keep the power and use it responsibly.

chapter 4: finding superheroes for a team

continued from chapter 3.......

Weeks after the battle between me and a evil dragon I stumbled upon many news articles of strange things going on in Maretropolis. I noticed somepony had superpowers and I decided to begin recruiting some heroes to aid me in truth, justice, and freedom.......

But, there was some who did not make it in the tryouts.

First was a little earth pony who mostly played video games and had a power glove that did not even work. The next one was a pegasus who was very clumsy and had muffins for a power. There was even more who did not make it.

But there was some that made it.... The first one was an alicorn who had magic like no other unicorn could harness. Next was a pink pony who was filled with a lot of excitement and had the power to throw an awesome party, another was a country girl who had very good strength and was able to level the ground and is indestructible. Later on I saw a beautiful unicorn who had the power to control minds with her beauty and even turn them into stone, but there were two more left. It was two pegasus who were different. One was a super fast pegasus who was very athletic and the other had a very loud scream, so loud that glass can break.

Afterward I finally had a team and so I begin teaching them about responsibility in their own powers.

"Welcome everypony to The Academy of Gifted Superheroes."

"Ummmm hello, this looks like an abandoned warehouse and where are the teachers." said Rainbow Lightning

" I am the only teacher here. Also I am your leader. "

"Yeah right you look like a little dragon who can't fight crime."

"Please be nice. After all he recruited us." said fluttercry

"As I was saying, I recruited you, because you were very special and I see great power in each of you. So to begin this class we will discuss the topic of being a great superhero. Now we follow the code of "HEROISM." "

"What in the hay does "HEROISM" mean?" said Applejack Hammer

"I'm glad you asked fellow lady."

H is Help those in need, not by desire. This means we help those in danger, not those who want it when they can do it themselves.

E is Everypony on the team must be fair with other teammates. That means we sort out who gets what.

R is Rest when you need it. A good hero needs time to rest in order to keep fighting crime.

O is Only you can use your powers for good. Never use your powers to do bad things that could harm anypony.

I is Identify the situation carefully. Then once you have a plan of action use it.

S is Show mercy. Never kill anypony unless it is an extreme problem.

M is Make friends. Friendship is True Magic and will give you great rewards.

" And there you have it. "

" I think I know how this works. " Said Twilight Sparkler

" Perfect, now then let's move on. "

Afterward I started training them in order to make them real superheroes, but things were very hard by the time I began training them. It was quite a disaster and I couldn't get the point through their heads, so I decided to take them where they can see a true hero in action.

" So why are we at the top of a skyscraper. " Asked Rainbow Lightning.

" It's so I can show you how we heroes take care of the situation. " Said Spike

" Whatever just do it, I'm going to sleep. " As the alarms at the bank go off, this was a good opportunity for Spike to spring into action.

" Now watch as I save the day as a superhero. " Spike then jumps and then he falls says the magic word " SHAZAM. "

Suddenly a strike of lightning hits him and he becomes " The Dragon Demigod. " He then stops the robbery and returns the money to the bank. Afterward he returns to the skyscraper and changes back to normal.

" Let me get this straight. So you become a superhero by saying " Shazam " ? " Asked Rainbow Lightning.

" Indeed. " Said Spike. Afterward I got them in the right shape. Things went perfect as planned. The criminals are in jail, the streets are safe, even everyone is happy and rewards us with tokens of appreciation. Except for one.......

Chapter 5: A new evil rises

Meanwhile in a dark hideout lies an evil changeling with a lust for greater power. She was filled with greed and wanted to take over Maretropolis with her henchmen and become the prime minister.

" If I could take over this wretched place I would have plenty of respect from everypony else and nopony will even disrespect me. All slaves will work every day until they die, but those who try to rebel will be punished. If only the streets weren't so full of puny heroes. " It wasn't long until one of her henchmen came back to alarm her about the new heroes.

" Supreme Queen Shape shifter. There has been reports of new heroes. "

" More idiots to handle. For years I wanted to rule, but no. Every time I defeat a new hero, more keep rising and it makes me want to just destroy Maretropolis." Queen Shape Shifter comes up with an evil plot to destroy The New Power Ponies.

Meanwhile the team enjoys a nice bite at a local coffee shop. Spike talks about some scenarios on protecting the city.

" Ok everypony. First things first. We need to focus on our enemy and if there is a hostage, we save them first, then we fight the bad guys. Got it? "

" Feels like to me, it's like a walk in the park. " Said Rainbow Lightning.

" I bet I can finish this job without a sweat. " Said Applejack Hammer.

" I just hope they don't keep animals hostage. " Said Fluttercry.

" Maybe we can have fun fighting crime. " Said Pinkie Party Animal.

" Oh yeah. I bet my irresistible charm will make stallions just give up. " Said Glarity.

" Come on Everypony. We need to work together. " Said Twilight Sparkler. Suddenly a big bang comes from the bank. Some ponies then start running. " Ok everypony. Now is your chance to fight crime for real. " Said Spike.

" But what about you? " Said Twilight Sparkler.

" I'm not changing into The Dragon Demigod unless it is an " emergency ". "

" All right then lets roll. "

" Just follow my instructions and it will be ok. "

As the ponies run their stopped by Rainbow Lightning.

" Going somewhere? Not on my watch. " She surrounds the thieves and takes their loot back to the bank. Suddenly a purse is snatched by another criminal. As soon as he took off Glarity stares at him with beautiful eyes. He drops the purse in awe, then she gives it back to the old lady. Pinkie Party Animal puts a parachute on him and shoots him out of her party cannon. He lands safely in jail. Fluttercry approaches a animal smuggler and kindly asks him to put the animals back, but he just runs off. Spike looks a Fluttercry with an unsatisfied look on his face, then Twilight Sparkler stops the smuggler with her magic.

The first day was a bit of a struggle, but then the next day things were a bit harder. Then the next day after that, it kept getting harder. Sooner or later, all but Spike crash themselves on whatever piece of furniture due to tiredness. " I know it's hard fighting crime, but with great power, comes great responsibility. " Said Spike.

" Yeah right! Also comes with great waste of energy. " Said Rainbow Lightning.

" All of you get some rest, except Fluttercry. "

" But I don't feel like fighting crime. I just keep chickening out. " Said Fluttercry.

" That's why I am going to bring you along. It's best to try harder. "

Out on the streets of Maretropolis, Spike and Fluttercry wait for a crime to happen. Suddenly a stallion steals candy from a foal, then the little foal throws a tantrum. Fluttercry gasps at the sight of a rude thing and approaches the meanie with a scowl on her face.

" Give her lollipop back before things get worst! "

" Or what, you're going to call the wahbulance? " Fluttercry changes her expression to a little nervous with some tears and backs up. Spike then has an idea and shouts from across the street.

" Hey you! I bet you can't steal more things from a foal! " The Stallion takes the foals teddy bear and throws it in the street, it then makes the foal cry even harder. This makes Fluttercry get really mad and screams very loud with her supersonic chords of steel. After her scream, the stallion falls down to his knees and begs. " Whatever you do, please don't scream at me like that again! I don't wanna be hurt like this!"

" Then give the foal her stuff back. "

" Here take it. I don't want to jail. Please have mercy. " He runs off scared. Fluttercry gives the foal her bear and throws the lollipop away since it got dirty, instead she gives it a nice warm hold and settles it down. She puts the foal back in her carriage and lays the blanket back on. She looks at the mother of it and see's her just reading a book and listening to music. Fluttercry walks back to Spike.

" Well, how did I do? "

" You did amazing with your power. You stood up and fought back. " Said Spike.

" Thank you. It's just I have some anger issues when I see innocent foals and fillies being bullied. "

" Well perhaps we can use that image to get you to fight crime like a real hero. "

" I guess that does work. " Spike smiles and they go back to their hideout where the rest of the gang just hangs around either gaming or just reading a book instead. ( Or something like that ) Little they know they were in for a surprise......

Chapter 6: Evil shows it face

While the gang enjoys their time alone, suddenly a cry comes from a mare calling for help. Spike looks out the window to see a henchman pushing her into the water and takes off running with her purse. " Guys, we got a situation here. "

" Again? I just unlocked a new character and I'm about to increase my winning streak on my status. "

" Come on! We can't just stay there. " The gang just stays put still tired. Spike throws bottles of energy drinks at them. " Here drink these, and you will have lots of energy. " They all drink up and feel a quite odd aftertaste.

Rainbow Lightning then questions what she drank. " What is in this stuff? "

" That is pickle juice. "

" PICKLE JUICE?!?!? "

" It's healthier than those energy drinks with caffeine and sugar. "

" Oh man. I haven't felt this much energy since I was a filly. " Said Applejack Hammer.

" Uggggghhh that is some nasty stuff. " Said Glarity.

" C'mon guys we need some power here. " Said Pinkie Party Animal. Once all is finished they head out and question the mare.

" So who is this henchmen belong to? " Asked Spike

" He is part of an organization of evil. "

" Evil, that isn't good. So, where did he go? " The mare then points in one direction that leads to a costume store. After the gang heads on to there, the mare then changes to her true form where she is the evil mastermind behind all of this. Spike opens the door to the shop and see's that its " abandoned " .

" That's strange. I don't see him around here, but why would there be somepony in this place. "

" May'be we should investigate this. " Said Twilight Sparkler. The gang looks around until Pinkie stumbles upon a hidden door via changing room. " Um guys, I think I found some secret entrance to a hideout. "

" Good work Pinkie. " Said Spike. Spike goes in first to lead the way. The gang hears odd sounds echoing throughout the flight of stairs. Once they enter, they become surprised at what there is to offer for a villain. Suddenly the lights go out and the gang loses consciousness over gas.

By the time they wake up, they see henchmen watching them. Ironically they couldn't get out of the ropes that they were tied together with. Somepony with a feminine raspy voice speaks from the shadows.

" All of you have fallen right into my trap puny heroes. "

" Who are you and what do you want with us? " The changeling walks forward in a seductive motion. She bears a bodysuit a bit torn out, dark turquoise hair, has black skin, her horn with some holes, glowing green eyes, even a beautiful face unlike any other supervillain.

" I am " Queen Shapeshifter ". "

" I don't know you lady, now get lost and do something else. "

" Oh I afraid I can't sweetie. " She approaches Spike and kisses him on the cheek. Spike then feels a bit sick to his stomach.

" What's the point in kidnapping us? " Said Rainbow Lightning.

" What you see before your eyes, is my diabolical creation that will terrorize all of Maretropolis. Soon I become Supreme Prime Minister of all.

" Not on my watch. " Said Applejack Hammer. She breaks out and blows some steam out of her nostrils. One of the henchmen turn on their staff and threaten her.

" Miss, you need to get back there and not lay a hoof on our queen. "

" Or what I'll get shocked? " Applejack Hammer jumps up high in the air and slams down onto the ground, leveling it out a bit. Next all spring into action fighting every henchmen they can with their powers. It goes on for 30 minutes until every bit of henchmen is down to the ground. Suddenly the queen stops all but Spike. Instead Spike gets picked up by one of her servants and held down. Next the Queen heads on to her machine and rubs it with her hoof.

" You see this Machine right before your very eyes little boy? This machine consists of dark matter that can make anypony become corrupted. Once I zap one of your friends, I'll be unstoppable.

" May'be you will, but there may be a price to pay. "

" What would that be darling? "

" They may turn on you and take over by themselves. "

" That's why I am prepared with special shock collars that I can use to break them into following my orders. Now bring in one of my slaves to the x on the floor to demonstrate. " Next they bring a filly who can't seem to break free of his chains. Once they put him on the x, the changeling approaches the red button and slams her hoof on it. The machine emits a very dark purple energy and zaps the little filly. Suddenly the filly experiences pain and mutations. He grows fangs, bat-like wings, even gets a bit bigger. Once his strange transformation finishes, he roars with anger. Next one of the henchmen put a shock collar on him to ensure full control.

" Now attack these puny ponies! "

" Don't you dare hurt my friends. "

" Or what? You will hurt me with your wittle hands? " Spike grinds his teeth in anger along with some courage and yells " shazam ". Suddenly a strike of lightning turns him into " The Dragon Demigod ". The Changeling see's a new form with a gasp of surprise.

" Now let them go. "

" How did you become a new dragon? "

" Simple. I said the magic word. "

" What magic word? "

" You know, the one I yelled. "

" Shazam? "

" Indeed lady. Now surrender or be punished by the justice of a dragon. " The Queen steers her machine around aiming at one of his friends. Dragon Demigod rushes in quick and blocks the shot fired from her evil device.

" What!?!? That's impossible, you should be changing into an evil being. "

" Oh no. I am a being composed with pure energy that is stronger than evil. "

" Impossible! My device took days to perfect! I tested it over 10 times! "

" Well, it's not guaranteed to be perfect. Not perfect against me. " The Queen turns her dials to the max and fires a huge energy once again. Surprisingly The Dragon Demigod grabs the machine from it's tip and throws it into the air. Next he blows it up with one shot of his super fiery breath. He approaches his friends and frees them from their imprisonment. All of them with their energy drained can't fight due to fatigue. Now it was up to The Dragon Demigod to put and end to this mess. The Queen charges at him, then he grabs her and flies out of the building leaving Twilight and the rest alone. But then comes one of the henchmen to the area where they are all collapsed.

" What are you doing to us? " Twilight Sparkler asked groggily.

" I want you to know that for years I've been wanting to get away, but I couldn't, because she'd never let us see our family or friends. All she ever did was give us no breaks, no good food, no nice clothes, all she had was everything to herself. Now we can go until she comes back.

" Well run away and be free. " The henchmen takes her words of advice and bolts out of the building. Next Twilight uses some of her power to teleport her and her friends somewhere in Maretropolis.

Meanwhile Dragon Demigod and Queen Shapeshifter are fighting to their extent. Dragon Demigod dodging whatever blast comes and avoiding destruction of the city. Finally Queen Shapeshifter decides to end the fight with her hidden technique. She emits a black energy with a dark purple core. He see's the potential danger of what could happen, and so he grabs her and flies at the speed of an arrow being shot by an archer. For a last resort he yells " Shazam " before landing on a hot dog cart just standing there. Lightning strikes both Dragon Demigod and Queen Shapeshifter in a Millisecond.

Twilight Sparkler and the gang see a flash of lightning and head over to where Spike is laying. Glarity see's Spike knocked out, ( Or as she thought he was. ) and hugs him with a tear running down her face. Spike wakes up and see's her hugging him hard. Spike moves a little and stands upright.

" Spike your alive! "

" It's no problem. I managed to defeat her. "

" Speaking of which, where is she? "

" I don't know. I changed back and suddenly she disappeared. " They hear a rustling sound coming from under a umbrella and see a little foal with the same appearance use her magic to try and hurt someone. Suddenly Spike see's a rock in the air and tells everypony " heads up ". The small rock hits the little foal not too hard and leaves a small mark on her hoof. She lets out some tears of sorrow and lays there upset. Fluttercry walks up to the little foal and holds her with her warm touch. This settles down her and she falls asleep.

" Spike, what should we do to her? " Asked Twilight Sparkler.

" I think the best choice would be to care for her. "

" Why do you think that a supervillain like her deserves our protection? "

" Now Twilight, we can't just leave her. We need to be kind and give her a second chance. All this little foal needs is some love. "

" Well I guess why not. She is kinda cute. "

And so our legacy carries on for years to come. We even gathered more fellow heroes and trained them to their full extent, not leaving any behind to do nothing. In fact, now The Queen is no longer a queen, she is now known as Princess Guardian Angel, also she shed her previous shapeshifting powers. Now she has the ability to change her form whenever she needs to hide her true identity. Also one of the failed recruits improved their powers and now fought to the very end. Even for us heroes, we had children to carry our legacy on and on. All of us fought for Truth, Justice, and Freedom for all of Equestria.

The End

chapter 1: spike gets made fun of

Spike The Dragon packs up for an event that he was waiting weeks for and heads for the door, but then somepony interrupts him for a second.

"Spike aren't you forgetting something important?" asked Twilight. "Well it seems that I have everything I need. my snacks, my comic book, my map, my guidebook, my pass, and my watch." As Twilight looks at him with an eyebrow raised, she gets something from a closet.

"It's your Hum-Drum costume silly." Then Spike realizes. "Oh right, never forget your costume when going to a convention." Then Twilight says one more thing. "Also you need adult supervision when you are going to a place like that."

"Awww Twilight, do you really have to come with me in order for me to get in?"

"Yes Spike, it is never a good idea to let a filly or a dragon go alone without an adult."

"But Twilight, you have very important things to do as a princess of friendship."

"Yes spike I do have some things to take care of, but I have it taken care of. Once you get older, you will have more responsibilities than you do now."

After an hour of traveling to Las Pegasus, they arrived at the convention center where the superhero con was being held. As they enter into the convention center spike was filled with amazement.

"Wow this is one of the best conventions I have been to since I've been here." Spike then sees fans from around dressed up as their favorite superheroes, suddenly a thought came about.

"Oh right I almost forgot one thing."

"What is it Spike? Did you forget something before we left?"

"No Twilight I need to change into my costume for all to see." Spike enters the changing room so he can put on his costume. After he puts on his costume he shows Twilight.

"How do I look?"

"You look great Spike."

"Thanks Twilight." Spike and Twilight walk around and come across a group of geeks talking superhero stuff. The geeks look at him with little rude looking expressions and laugh at him.

" Hey guys look it's Hum-Drum the lamest superhero ever!" Everypony else turns and criticizes him for looking awful. " Ha Ha, look at him he looks way stupid in this costume." Spike feels nervous. Twilight then covers Spike with her wing and walks to a spot where her and Spike can talk.

"How could those geeks make fun of you? I thought you looked nice but turns out you don't."

"C'mon Twi lets go home."

"But Spike we just got here."

"Fine but try to hide me from all of the geeks, I'm just not ready to face the crowd again." While Spike is walking through some geek comes by him and gives him a little tip. "Hey dragon you want to look better, I want you to find a good superhero by tomorrow."

Chapter 7: Spike makes a new appearance

After Spike finishes the story. He warps out of the comic book and feels a bit tired. Discord looking at him from the air, then comes down to Spike.

" So how was your adventure? "

" It was amazing! I fought crime and protected all of Maretropolis. "

" That's very good little one. I have a surprise for you. "

" What is it? "

" It's a new costume like your own character. "

" Really? "

" It's my way of rewarding you for your hard work. "

" Thanks Discord, now I can show those guys that I am better than I was. "

" Don't forget to bring your comic book along. A good hero must bring their comic book to demonstrate their great feats. "

" Ok. "

" Now get some rest Spike. A good heroes must recharge before their big day. "

The next day he arrives to the convention in quite an amazing costume with a stunning cape and looks quite muscular. Seconds later almost every pony gathers around him in amazement. Spike feeling a bit nervous just shrugs it off and tells every pony that he is " Dragon Demigod ". with such name every pony lifts him off the ground and takes him to one stallion with grey hair, eyeglasses with a brown tint, and a black long sleeve shirt. While he writes his signature on some merchandise that others have brought along, he notices Spike.

" Hold on a second everypony, I see someone has managed to get a hold on some great design. "

" Who are you Mister? "

" I am Excelsior Author. I am the creator of many great superheroes. I am a living legend. "

" Wow man. I never knew you even existed. "

" Well apparently you never heard of me before have you? "

" No. Never in my life. "

" Let me tell you something kid. You have what it takes to be a real hero. I've heard about you since you saved the crystal empire, the crystal games, heck even you even managed to bring some dragons in Manehattan back out and have them roam freely without any problem. I never thought I get to meet you. Now I see the image of someone who has what it takes to be a real hero. "

" I never been complimented like this before. "

" Well kid it's about time for you to shine. " And so Spike the dragon gains lots of respect and receives free gifts from fellow fans of superheroes.
